POV: Hermione gets into a situation where she doesn't remember anything past setting foot in Hogwarts.
One day, a pale, Slytherin boy calls out to her, so she assumes he's one her friends and smiles to greet him. The boy blushes and freezes all of a sudden.
She shrugs and leaves.

Hermione paced the library after hours needing time to clear her head after a row with Ron.
“Well, well, well… what do we have here?”
Hermione’s eyes snapped towards the uppity, sharp sounding voice.
“Shut up, Malfoy. Let’s not pretend you don’t know why I’m here.”
Malfoy smirked, looking her up and down slowly. Then he was crowding her space, grabbing her arms and pushing her against the table.
“Weasel couldn’t get you there??” He sneered grabbing her chin.
“I’m not here to talk.” Hermione stared into his icy eyes trying not to think about his other hand digging into her hip.
“Not here to talk. Is that right, Granger?” He hoisted her onto the table and stepped between her. Leaning into her neck, Granger fluttered her eyes closed. Now it was time for some relief.
Malfoy chuckled breathing onto her neck and swiping her mane away. No kiss came. “What if I wanted to talk?” He breathed into her.
Grabbing his shirt and pulling him closer, Hermione tried to shut him up. For gods sake, why was he not just kissing her already!?
He nuzzled his nose into her neck and chuckled again before pushing away.
“What the hell!?” Hermione was enraged. From Ron to Malfoy and his snooty, rich, asshole, strikingly handsome self, men were really pissing her off tonight.
She met his eyes, red painting her cheeks in embarrassment. Malfoy was already staring at her, eyes dark and predatory.
“First you want to talk and now you’re barely even breathing. Gods, you’re so fucking moody and weird sometimes?”
His nostrils flared as he looked at Hermione sprawled on the table. He looked like he could avara her on the spot. Her eyes widened as she straightened up.
“Stop using me every time you have a little fight with your boyfriend.” His jaw ticked. Was he actually pissed off? “Better, yet. Stop talking to me altogether until you’ve fixed that situation.”
Hermione’s brows stitched together, “fixed the situation? What…”
“Oh, please, don’t play fucking dumb. You’re much brighter than this.” Malfoy scoffed, “maybe we can resume this and move our little library rendezvous to something more comfortable. Dump your little weasel and we’ll talk.”
“I…” Hermione was completely bewildered.
“No.” He breathed sharply, “Send me a note when you decide what to do.”
And with that he was half way down the aisle.
Hermione didn’t realize she was holding her breath… so much for clearing her mind.

The Antics of a House Husband
"Love, come look at this! You're even famous in the muggle world," Draco called back to his wife, pointing at a page in the book in his lap. Hermione thought the book looked a little familiar, but as she was just walking through the floo after a long day at the office she didn't pay it much attention. "Hmm? That's odd, I really shouldn't be. What does it say?"
Draco smirked, knowing that this would be the start of a very fun evening, "Here, let me read it to you:
vexatious adjective vek-sā-shus
1.) causing vexation, DISTRESS; "vexatious delays"
2.) intended to harass; "a vexatious lawsuit"
3.) full of disorder or stress, TROUBLED; "a vexatious period in her life"
synonyms include: exasperating, irksome, and Hermione Granger."
Draco resisted the urge to look at her. If she saw him smiling now he'd lose out on the opportunity to rile her up a little more before the joke is up. Hermione had been taking her shoes, coat, and scarf off when he finished reading the definition. With one shoe still on and only her coat actually properly hung up, she slowly stalked towards him. "Draco. Lucius. Malfoy. That cover looks VERY familiar. It wouldn't happen to be a dictionary from MY bookshelf, would it?"
Draco closed the book and held it up for her to see, "Well of course it is. You don't think I'd go buy another one when we have a perfectly useful one in our home already." He surreptitiously crept forward on the sofa. Very soon he was going to need to make a quick escape.
"THAT WAS MY PRIMARY SCHOOL DICTIONARY YOU DEFACED!! You had better tell me right now that the charm you used is reversible or so help Merlin, I will castrate you for this." She had lost all subtly and was no longer stalking, per se, more like stomping hard enough to crack the tiles. With only one shoe, she had quite the unique gait.
"Now now, you love my cock just the way it is. We wouldn't want anything to happen to it, would we?" She was barely more than 3 meters away now, and he made eye contact with her for the first time this evening. His fiery wife looked very much willing to part him from his appendage. Good. Draco gave her the barest hint of a smirk before he bolted for the door, a broom already waiting for him. She'd eventually figure out that he had retreated to Blaise's house and she'd catch up with him. She's meant to. He'd act the innocent and show her that he had not actually defiled her precious book, that he'd merely transfigured another book to look like her book. He'd ask her to not let her temper get the best of her so often, and just when she looked ready to burst with pent up passion he'd swoop down and kiss her senseless. They'd have the best sex of the year (so far) right there in Blaise's house, whichever room she found him in. His vexatious little wife would purr like a kitten for him before the night is done. And in a month or two he'll think of another prank to pull on her. As her devoted house husband it's his duty to take care of her after all.

Secret Affairs (Dramione)
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Word Count: 1k
Summary: “Wait, is your mystery guy an Auror? Damn, do we know him?” His hand went to his chin as he pondered who it could be, Ron added bashfully, “I thought your mystery guy worked in a library, to be honest.”
Both men looked at her in earnest as they awaited her answer when the sound of a door opening dragged their attention to the hallway. ~ Harry and Ron find out about Draco and Hermione.
Characters: Draco Malfoy, Hermione Granger, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley
Date written: July 27, 2022
Hermione was walking on air that morning. A sleepy, satisfied smile on her face as she made her way to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. As she put the kettle on her mind was drawn back to the certain wizard who’d she left showering in her – their bedroom, as of last night it he was officially moved in. She still needed to tell her friends that her and Malfoy were in a serious relationship, but alas, she’d never found the right time.
The first time she almost told her friends were a few weeks after their third date but then Harry had announced his engagement to Ginny and Hermione thought it best to wait. Then a month after at a friendly quidditch match for ministry workers she’d intended to tell Harry and Ron about her and Draco, but the boys were bitter about losing to Malfoy and his team, so it definitely wasn’t the right time. Harry and Ron would sometimes get suspicious of her when she would disappear on them for days, but she’d quickly cover it up with her having to work extra hours as a healer in training. Coupled with the fact that Harry was busy with Ms. Weasley and planning his wedding and Ron being occupied with Auror work things worked out.
Even if she hadn’t found time to tell her friends it had nothing to do with her being ashamed of their relationship because she’d met with his friends more than enough times. Hermione wasn’t going to lie to herself and not admit that keeping their relationship to themselves – for the most part made it all the more intense. Fuck, just thinking about the way Draco claimed her after some poor ministry bloke had been flirting with her the other night had her blushing scarlet. Hermione was snapped out of her more than welcomed daydream when the sound of the floo activating had her pulling Draco’s white button up closed. As if now realizing she’d been naked underneath aside from some underwear, she turned away from the floo and hurriedly buttoned it up.
“Hey, Mione!” Harry called out as he and Ron entered the kitchen matching excited grins on their face, “Morning!” She said with a frazzled smile, “Harry, Ron, what are you doing here so early?” They each pulled a face, noting her frenzied state, “Uh…Hermione, it’s three in the afternoon.” Ron said cautiously brows furrowing, “Are you feeling sick?” Harry added, “Yeah Hermione you don’t look so good, your hairs a mess and you look a bit red, are you getting hot flashes?” Hermione resisted the urge to roll her eyes as they mothered her.
“I’m fine. I just slept in is all. I had a long night.” She bit the inside of her lip as she remembered just why she was up so late when her eyes caught on an Auror badge thrown haphazardly on the counter beside her. Trying to get the attention off her she said, “So, what brings you both here?” She said, slowly creeping her hand closer to the badge trying to keep her bottom half behind the kitchen island that separated her and the boys. Ron perked up saying, “You’re looking at the new Auror of the month, turns out with all the days Malfoy skipped I’ve finally beaten the git and got the position.” He boosted with a proud smile on his face and though Hermione should’ve felt guilty about being responsible for the days Draco missed she couldn’t. “Congratulations! I’m so proud of you.” She beamed at him, genuinely happy for her friend. When Harry hadn’t said anything, she turned his way to find his stare trained on the movement of her hand and she froze.
“Did I leave my badge here the other day?” Shaking his head as he tried to remember if he ever misplaced it, he moved forward to grab the golden badge when Hermione quickly snatched it to her, “Sorry, no, Harry this isn’t yours.” She said with a hesitant laugh, Ron added looking at his friend oddly, “Mate you badge is on your belt,” he paused before adding, “wait, Hermione why do you have an Aurors badge here?” Both men's eyes widened comically as Harry said, “Wait, is your mystery guy an Auror? Damn, do we know him?” His hand went to his chin as he pondered who it could be, Ron added bashfully, “I thought your mystery guy worked in a library to be honest.”
Both men looked at her in earnest as they awaited her answer when the sound of a door opening dragged their attention to the hallway. Hermione watched their reactions as she stood frozen behind the kitchen island as Draco Malfoy walked out in nothing but his towel resting lowly on his hips. Hermione licked her lips unconsciously as she watched water droplets trail over his chest, disappearing beneath the towel. Oh, how she wished Harry and Ron wasn’t here, but there were. “Malfoy!” They both shouted comically, and Hermione would’ve laughed if she wasn’t feeling so tense, “Potter, Weasel.” He nodded their way before walking the rest of the way to Hermione, ducking low her wrapped an arm around her waist and whispered lowly in her ear, “I was just about to come get you, but it seems you have your self-occupied at the moment, Granger.” Hermione clenched her eyes shut as she leaned further into him, before opening them and looking up into his grey ones, “I’ll deal with it and make it up to you later?” She bargained with a cheeky grin before pecking him on the mouth, but it seemed that he had other plans when his free hand swiped her thigh making her gasp as he slipped his tongue into her mouth, deepening the kiss. She melted into him forgetting about their audience, but he pulled away all to quickly for her liking and kissed her forehead leaving her panting to catch her breath.
Stealing herself she said, “Just let me grab some pants and I’ll be back.” When she returned she sat with her best friends who still looked to be in shock but she was ready to hear the onslaught of questions they aimed her way.

"What are you watching?" Draco asked as he entered their living room where Hermione installed a TV.
"Hm?"
Draco rolled his eyes knowing to well that if his wife is interested in something you barely can get her attention. So, he came to her and sat near, placing his right hand right behind her shoulders.
"I asked: what are you watching?" he whispered in her ear, that made her shiver a little.
"Emh, it's The handmade's tale. I told you before."
"The one you read?"
"Yeah, but it's a show. Could you imagine that something like that might happen?" she asked him suddenly and looked into his gray eyes. He swallowed.
"I don't think it's gonna be good. Especially after what you told me."
"Yeah... Can't even think about being in her place. Like handmade and... it's just awful."
"Agree."

The Dramione Blurbs continue.
Read the series here, if you wish.
Harry didn’t intend on so many people showing up to tonight’s dinner.
In fact, he wasn’t certain he had told anyone other than Hermione and Draco. But the day was so hectic, so crazy and eventful, that he might have let it slip.
Harry sighed. He really had no recollection of it all.
He sat in the middle of his parlor, waiting to greet all of the friends who continued to pour into his home.
Ginny, somehow, was prepared. An entire buffet had been set up. Decorations of pink and blue and white flowers filled the home.
And as he began to search the crowd for Draco, who had promised to arrive by eight that evening, he found his long time girlfriend staring at him.
In Ginny Weasley’s eyes was the kind of fire he knew too well. The kind of fire that told him she had heard of his lie that he told in order to draw Hermione over. To get her to agree to a night amongst friends.
A night with her thrown into the same room as Ron.
She lifted a perfectly groomed and copper tinged brow at him and smirked, before taking a long sip of her champagne.
That was when he knew that it was she that had invited what appeared to be the entirety of their classmates from Hogwarts.
A hand clapped Harry hard on the shoulder, jolting him back into motion. It unfroze the ice that ran through his veins as he pulled his gaze away from Ginny’s.
He looked over his shoulder to find Cormac McLaggen smiling at him, his smile broad and obnoxious as always.
“McLaggen,” Harry cleared his throat. “What are — how are you?”
Cormac lifted a glass of amber liquid to his mouth and grinned. “I’m perfect, mate. Finally tying that witch of yours down, then?”
Harry felt the tension in his shoulders building. “Still seeing Susan?” He asked, ignoring his question. Cormac also worked for the DMLE, but had graduated from an Auror and was now working as a lead prosecutor for the department. A sort of branch between the Aurors and the Wizengamot.
A bloody headache to deal with, for the most part.
Harry let his eyes wander over the crowd, still seeking his new partner out.
Part of his anxiety over Malfoy attending the party was due to the reception that might greet him. It was also partly due to the case they were now investigating. A case that left Harry feeling unease. Fear, even, the more he thought about it.
“No.” He took a drink and Harry watched as Cormac’s eyes brightened. Harry followed his line of sight to find Hermione entering the room, dressed in a simple black dress. Her hair was down with a single burette pulling the shorter layer of her hair back from her face. “I’m onto better and brighter things.” He clapped Harry again on the shoulder, a bit too roughly, before he bee-lined it for where Hermione was now stopped, talking to Luna Lovegood.
He considered rescuing Hermione but then realized that Ginny had been the one to invite him to the party, knowing the wizard had always held a bit of a torch for Hermione. And therefore, remained in his spot, knowing that somehow, this all fit into his sort of fiancé's plan.
That was about the time a sort of hushed murmur fell over the room.
Harry looked over to the Floo, finding Draco standing in front of it.
Still dressed in his clothes from work, Malfoy stared around the room, as if hunting for something. Or someone.
Harry opted to break through the tension. “Malloy, thanks for coming.” He reached out a hand, and almost laughed at the slight recoil at the gesture. The hint of a scowl pressed into his mouth, crinkling the space between Draco’s eyebrows.
But, still recoiling slightly, Malloy slid his hand into Harry’s and gave a brief squeeze, a quick shake before his eyes returned to the crowded room.
His pale eyes settled on the corner of the room where Hermione stood beside Luna. Cormac was now flirting ostentatiously with her.
Harry was briefly reminded of sixth year, when a similar scenario played out. Cormac getting cozy with Hermione. Draco entering a party he isn’t quite welcome at.
This time, however, Malfoy was invited by Harry himself. This time, Harry realized, Malfoy was staring at Granger with an intensity that didn’t quite make sense to Harry. He remembered, then, how Hermione had told Harry that Draco had apologized to her that day at his fathers trial. That she had ran into him in the hall and they had “reconciled their differences.”
Harry was about to bring it up but Draco sneered over at her. “What is Cormac McLaggen doing here?”
“Ah, Ginny invited him?”
Draco sent a frown his way before he stepped forward.
Harry followed Malfoy and that was, as it were, how he ended up stepping between two men at his sort of engagement party.
He had not seen it, then, for what it was. A pissing contest, of sorts. A means to woo the likes of Hermione Granger. Looking back, he could hit himself for being so oblivious.
But in the moment, Harry had assumed Draco simply hated McLaggen. Everyone hated McLaggen. Even Luna Lovegood frequently frowned at he wizard that seemed to find himself pressed into Hermione’s side, his arm slung carelessly over her shoulder.
“I heard you and Weasley broke up, Hermione.” Cormac was saying as the two men essentially stalked over to the trio.
“You did?” She was sipping at her glass of champagne, sending looks of incredulity to Luna.
“I did.” McLaggens hand wrapped around her shoulder, hauling her closer. “And I can’t help but recall that night at Slughorn’s Christmas party all those years ago.”
“When we were 17?” It sounded like her throat had dried out.
Harry grimaced. Hermione had never gone into detail about what exactly had occurred between the two. But judging by the sharp blush that quickly bloomed on the apples of her cheeks, he had to imagine it was more than she was willing to admit.
“Fancy on repeating history?”
Draco reached them first. His eyes were cold and stormy as he bore holes into McLaggens head. Hermione was staring down at her champagne.
“Oh.” Luna smiled at both approaching wizards.
“Granger,” Malfoy drawled and Harry was instantly sent back in time. Rekindled with the oddity of his voice pulling the syllables of Hermiones name out. He never said her name like his or Ron’s. There was a hint of something more...respectful. Even with all of the mudblood bullshit, Draco only ever said her name with a hint of respect.
Hermione’s eyes nearly bulged out of her eyelids as her head snapped up. The blush on her face deepened, spreading to her neck. She choked air. On nothing.
Harry quickly recalled their lunch, when she choked. Right after he had told her who his new partner was.
“Malfloy?” McLaggen’s voice was incredulous. It was full of disbelieving humor and a hint of disgust. “What are you doing here?”
“I’ve been invited, McLaggen. What are you doing here?”
“Who invited you?” He looked at Hermione, as if seeking her approval.
“The groom.”
Hermione eyed Harry, warily.
“Uh, yeah. Malfoy just joined the department today. He’s my partner.”
Harry, in that moment, failed to notice the way Malfoy stared at Hermione. Stared like she was the only one in the room. Her eyes avoided his gaze. Looked at Harry, Luna, even McLaggen. All in an attempt to avoid the intensity of Malfoy’s eyes.
“You look lovely, Granger. As always.”
Harry’s eyes widened and his brows shot up into his forehead. Hermione ran a tongue over her lower lip and lifted her proud chin.
“Thank you.” She looked at McLaggen. “Would you mind accompanying me to get another drink, Cormac?”
Tension passed between Hermione and Malfoy. Luna grinned broadly at the group. As if well aware of what was going on. Loving every moment of it.
Harry hadn’t felt this oblivious in years.
“I’d love to.” Cormac offered his arm and everyone stared in disbelief as Hermione slipped her hand through the crook of his arm.
Draco fucking growled as the two turned.
“Is that new?” He whirled on Harry, as if he had done something wrong.
“What?
“I need a drink.” Draco grabbed the champagne suddenly hovering in front of his face. Luna offering up her own.
“I’m really happy you’re here, Draco.” She sang and then spun and left them both the brows pinched. Draco down the entirety of the glass and summoned a refill, and apparently, the house was more than happy to oblige.
“You didn’t tell me it was going to be a party. I thought this was going to be a dinner. And McLaggen, seriously?”
Harry bristled. “It was supposed to be a dinner. And I didn’t invite him. Ginny must have. She invited everyone.”
Draco chugged his second glass and lowered it, eyeing Harry. “Does that mean she isn’t upset about telling Granger that you had decided on a date?”
“No.” Harry loosened his tie and summoned his own glass. Full of Fire Whiskey. “It means she’s livid. Might as well sneak away and discuss the case now.”
Draco’s eyes were searching the room again, particularly in the direction Cormac and Hermione had disappeared to. “Not before I have another drink.”
He left Harry, heading for the kitchen.

Draco folded a tiny note into the tiniest paper bird. He was working up the courage to actually leviosa it over to a certain bushy-haired witch for… he checked the clock… forty-five minutes.
Professor Snape droned on about werewolves, and Draco’s heart raced. This was the longest class he has ever had to sit through, but at least every time Hermione turned her head to that grimy little weasel, he could take her in. He lived for those moments.
Class would be ending soon. It was now or never. He wordlessly sent the paper bird over… right as she turned her head. Oh SHIT. It hit her square in the eye, pointy-end first.
Fuck, you useless piece of shit. Fuck.
Hermione turned, holding her eye, an incredulous expression melding into a nasty sneer. Red creeped down Draco’s neck and he quickly cooled his surprise into a smirk.
Just pretend you meant to do this.
“What are you looking at, mudblood?” Draco spat. The word turned into ash in his mouth as Hermione’s eyes flashed with hurt.
“Leave me alone, Malfoy!” She whispered through clenched teeth.
“Excuuuuse me, Ms. Granger. Pray tell, why you are so rudely interrupting my lecture?” Snape drawled, tone absolutely scathing despite his slow pace of speech.
Hermione started, “I… I… well, Mal… Malfoy…”
“I… I… I’m taking ten points from Gryffindor,” Snape mocked.
Draco wanted to crawl into a hole and die, but he forced a snicker as Hermione sank in her chair.
“Back to the lesson!” Professor Snape snapped before continuing on.
Hermione turned back to sneer at Draco once more. He met her stare with a smirk.
Why am I like this?
Draco feared this misstep would set him back about two months. He had been trying not to make fun of the girl he so desperately wanted to be close to. So much for his note telling her how much he enjoyed her smile. He buried his head in his hands. It’ll be a fresh start tomorrow.

I kind of really love it when Hermione makes the first move with Draco.
They're both leaving a detention that they fully believe the other one is to blame for. They've bickered and yelled their frustrations. Neither can deny their underlying feelings though, not to themselves anyways. Hermione is ready to take that first step towards something more; is Draco?
