Dunnet Head - 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scotland Dunnet Head is a peninsula on the north coast of Scotland. It is the northern most point in mainland Scotland and therefore, Great Britain too. Dramatic 91m cliffs hold Dunnet Head Lighthouse, while surrounding bays contain surprisingly beautiful beaches. You might not want to swim in the cold North Sea for the majority of the year, but seals can commonly be spotted, along with lots of other wildlife! Nearby, you can travel to John O’groats, a popular tourist spot, being at one end of the longest distance between two inhabited points on the mainland (the other being Land’s End, Cornwall). Fun fact: Looking north, you will clearly see the Orkney Islands, with the Pentland Firth stretching between you. Tides here are some of the fastest in the world making it potentially the best place in the world for tidal power.
