I want to disagree, but I've seen Fullmetal Alchemist and I know that the law of equivalent exchange absolutely allows the transmutation of "mix two living beings together" and there's not really a way to reverse it
Shou Tucker canonically is the only dead character in FMA to go to hell and deserve it, and I am forever haunted by what he did to his daughter Nina...
I'm sure if Sam does transmute into a hybrid archivist it will be agonizing and terrifying in ways that feel like home for those of us who enjoyed all of the Magnus Archives, but at the end of the day it'd be an outside force merging them; never forget that humanity has and always will be capable of cruelties beyond the imaginings of higher powers.
All of The Fears lack a creative mind (save The Web perhaps), and attach themselves to the new ways we invent to fear them. Does The Buried understand what financial debts or taxes are, did it create this new way to trap and suffocate human souls? Of course not, it can only understand that it generates its brand of terror to the people aboveground, a grave that you cannot see and a tomb in the air under the sky. It can now reach people that do not venture into the Earth's depths, and it clings to this concept it can't comprehend.
Oh but yeah The Web absolutely is the one responsible for creating the Internet. C'mon, there's no way it didn't come up with it; an invisible network of connections that span the entire globe, to scheme and manipulate someone from anywhere in the world?! It's literally called the World Wide WEB for fucks sake!
Anyway rant over bye
friends,,,,,,,,, what if by jumping into the portal sam and the archivist become One
there were A LOT of cases in this season about two things (people, inanimate objects, energies, plants, etc) converging and morphing into something else all together
what if sam becomes an archivist by transmutation

September 10th 1985 saw the birth of Nicola Ann Raphael.
It's not easy putting together a post like this but it's such an important subject we can't just ignore it because it makes uncomfortable reading. Believe me when I say I shed tears researching this, anyone who has lost a child will find it difficult to read this, whatever the circumstances, believe me, speaking from experience it lives with you forever.
On June 24th 2001, Nicolas mother, Rona started her day as normal, she made herself a coffee and waited for Nicola to appear from her bed, by the afternoon there was still no sign of her, so she went upstairs to check on her, it would be a day no parent should encounter, Rona knocked and knocked but got no response. Worried that something must have happened, she forced herself into Nicola Ann’s room. Sadly, she had come far too late. Nicola had taken 40 of her mother’s Coproxamol painkillers before going to bed the night before. She was pronounced dead when paramedics arrived.
As a child, Nicola was a bright, friendly child who had a flair for the unusual and a penchant for being more than a little individualistic. She had attended the local schools Millersneuk Primary and Lenzie Academy. It was when she began attending Lenzie Academy though, that things began to take a turn for the worse.
Perhaps it was because of her individualism, or perhaps it was her taste in not only Goth music, but also her Goth-inspired fashion sense, but Nicola’s fellow high school students didn’t seem to like her very much. She was bullied constantly at school, and it was a burden which she bore in silence for a very long time. Nicola Ann's is also notable in that it represented an early wave of media coverage of bullying by way of texting/mobile phones.
15-year-old Nicola Ann Raphael had committed suicide by overdose because she could take it no longer. Though her parents didn’t know it at the time, the reason for Nicola’s suicide was chiefly due to the bullying behavior of her classless classmates. They would soon learn not only that, but also that there were people who could have helped ease the verbal abuse against their daughter and did nothing.
Nicola’s suicide had shocked the nation but what was even more shocking about her death was that the teachers in her school knew about her classmates’ bullying and did nothing to stop it. It wasn’t just verbal abuse either as it turned out, but physical as well. Nicola lived under the threat of physical violence simply because she liked a certain style that they considered outside the norm. One girl said that they approached the head of the school who said it was our own fault because of the way they dressed. They went to him again and his solution was just to stay away from them bullies. They weren't reprimanded at all.
What is even more sickening about this is that even in death Nicalo was not left alone, a year after her suicide someone defaced her grave and items placed there were stolen, this is really sad as I have a friend who has had items stolen from her daughters grave, how can people do this??!!!
Nicola had been set to attend a Marilyn Manson concert a few weeks after she had committed suicide. Manson, who is an alternative icon, was one of her favorite artists. When the singer heard what had happened, he dedicated his song “The Fight Song” to Nicola Raphael and even met her mother after the concert.
In June 2003, Nicola Raphael’s story was featured on Tonight: GIRLS AFRAID “A report on the dramatic increase in bullying by girls. ” The program saw both bullies and their victims being interviewed and included an interview with Rona Raphael as well. It was designed to show two sides of the story.
Nicola was an organ donor and after her death, many of her organs were sent to folks who were in desperate need of them. Her heart was frozen and used to save the life of a toddler. A few years after her death, a BBC TV documentary on organ donation entitled Life on the List saw the Raphael’s meeting one of the recipients, a young boy named Jack.
There is a good post on the Alterophobia blog with links to articles regarding Nicola Ann's suicide here.

✿ oh hit me with those serval and sampo things
SERVAL & SAMPO:
Were Sampo to look more thoroughly upon Serval's shelves in the workshop he might find something interesting. Or rather a few things. The first would be that all the bookmarks used to mark pages seem to have the same preserved flower in, as if made meticulously with half of the initial bunch to keep the memory of receiving them. She adds to this colllection now and then with every subsequent bunch he leaves, but the initial set are still all in use. However, perhaps more interesting to him, is that if he were to look among the rolled up papers and haphazard notebooks containing sketches and designs he may find a thing or two that look familiar. A few sketches of his belts and how best to add slim, yet effective design features, how to create smoke bombs that are a tenth of the size but no less powerful for when he really can't go for his usual dramatic flair etc. These designs are never actively shown to him but Serval creates them for her own reasons. Part of it is that it gives her a way of showing affection in the best way, thinking of ways to create things that are practical and effective that might keep him alive. The second is simply he offers so much inspiration to her creative brain, she can't help it. She hasn't made any of them yet, but perhaps she might one day.
Despite the fact that she is fascinated and enthralled by the ease that comes with being around Sampo and with him, there is a part of Serval that is terrified by it all. Firstly, she knows his history and his profession, and while admittedly that's part of the allure initally because they can't get too involved, later on as her feelings develop that becomes something more difficult for her to wrangle with. What will their relationship look like? Will there ever be a sense of commitment entirely? are questions she asks herself. The other thing that terrifies her is how easily he gives and lets her take. Where is the line for him? She doesn't know, but that creates this sense of what if she becomes too used to it and then he retreats and she's bereft of this emotion she's been indulging in for a while now. She doesn't speak this out loud but this does often have her trying to keep some distance between them, trying not to text him too much when he's away, but as they grow closer, she slips on her own guidelines for herself.

The Lemon Legacy: Generation 1, Chapter 86 - The Big Day, Part 1
The day of the wedding has finally arrived. The guests are seated. Hilary has taken her place as the officiant. Greta has swallowed her pride and worn pink for the occasion. Let's get these crazy kids married!
Green-thumbed Greta picked only the best flowers from her personal garden to use for her Flower Pal duties. She tosses the petals with her own dramatic flair, clearly taking her duties seriously.
Despite their rough patch earlier in the week, Hilary's so proud of her daughter.
Violet: Where's O'fia?
Marcie: Shh, she's coming, princess.
Jace struts down the aisle with his ring pillow and his head held high.
Hilary tries to burn in her memory how her little boy looks in this moment. He's aging up into a teen soon. She's going to miss his sweet face.
As he walks down the aisle, Xander can't help but let his emotions get to him. This is really happening.
He had decided to take Ophelia's last name, so these are his last few moments as Alexander Pappas. He's so excited to start this next chapter of his life with Ophelia.
Everyone was too busy watching Xander walk down the aisle to notice a little escape artist had slipped out of Marcie's arms and was tearing off toward someone in white.
Violet gazes up at the woman of the hour, in awe at her lacy white dress and sparkly jewelry.
Violet: Is that you, O'fia?
Ophelia: Yeah, Vi, it's me.
Violet: I like your dress! You look like a princess!
Violet: I like your head thingy too!
Ophelia: It's called a veil. Your mommy wore a veil at her wedding, remember?
Violet: Yeah! You look pretty. Almost as pretty as me!
Ophelia: Well thank you. That's a very high compliment from Princess Violet Sistem herself.
Ophelia's surely missed her cue to go to the aisle by now, but she can't bring herself to care. She crouches down to give Violet a hug, her nerves settling a bit thanks to the little charmer's embrace.
Marcie: Violet, don't run away from Momma like that! I'm so sorry, Ophelia.
Ophelia: It's okay. I think I needed a hug. My stomach has been turning all day.
Marcie: Well, Violet's right about one thing. You do look gorgeous. I'll keep a better eye on this one. I think the future Mr. Lemon is waiting for you.
Ophelia: Showtime.
Ophelia brandishes her bouquet as the guests rise to watch her walk down the aisle. Her heart swells as she sees her friends, her gran, her future family all there to witness their union.
The skies of Tartosa are a beautiful orange-pink. It's a perfect evening already.
Xander: Glad I went with the tux. I almost wore the exact same dress. That would have been embarrassing.
Ophelia knows him well enough to notice the slightest of quivers in his voice as he cracks that joke. She whispers to him.
Ophelia: It's okay, baby, I'm nervous too.

Seven.
LUCKILY FOR ME, JOHNNY wasn't in today--flu or something--so it was a relaxing start to the day at the coffee shop. I leisurely watered the potted plants by the window, fluffed the cushions, swept the floor and made a latte for myself. I was enjoying a pretty chill Saturday afternoon when the entrance door opened with a flourish and I saw who had come to visit.
I couldn't help but grimace.
"Aw, come on now. Is this the welcome I deserve?" It was Seth, my distant cousin. Whenever he came to find me, it was nothing but trouble--he was my mother's personal messenger and dog, and it was awfully annoying having to deal with him every time he came to pass a message.
"Sorry. I don't like dogs, especially mongrels like yourself."
He chuckled. "That never gets old. Anyway, Auntie wanted me to tell you to--"
"To come home, I know. I got her text message."
"Then, did you see the one she sent after that? The one, you know, about killing herself?" Seth inquired with somewhat judgmental eyes. The bastard.
In fact, I had. It was in the middle of the night--or rather, day--when I was halfway between sleep and clarity, and my mother sent me a threatening message: If you don't come home soon, I'm going to kill myself. There is no point living as the mother of a child who doesn't love her. It's heartbreaking. I'm heartbroken! Twenty minutes or so later, she sent a follow-up when I hadn't had the courtesy to deliver a response: I'm really going to do it. It'll all be over soon. Goodbye.
It was haunting, sure, but not exactly new; Mother was a fan of the theatrics, and she had always had this dramatic flair inside her that had been, in the past, a potential skill that would enable her to study drama in order to become an actress. Turns out, though, she wasn't that talented, and of course you know the rest. It might have been heartless; nevertheless, I simply said, "I did. It was funny."
"Excuse me? Funny? How so?"
"Because she isn't really going to do it. She's never actually going to do it, but she'll make you think she might, because that gives her the advantage she wants over everyone. Mother's a master manipulator, Seth, I hope you are aware. Well, it doesn't seem like it, since you're still obeying her orders."
"Auntie's the head of the household, Irina. Without her you won't be able to do anything. Look at how you're living now--you're dirt broke, you're living in a tiny ass studio apartment, and you have no friends here..."
"You know Mother's broke too, right? Not too long ago she was ringing me up for money."
"Recently, she started dating this guy and I think they really hit it off--"
"OH. She's dating again. Or--wait--is she married? Again? Isn't this her third time? Jesus, I--" I sucked in a deep breath. It was a shocker, to be sure. I didn't think she was that stupid. "Please tell me."
"They're just dating for now, but it looks like it could potentially be serious." Seth's eyes narrowed. "Besides, why do you, of all people, care whether she gets married for a third time or not?"
"Oh, I don't. Believe me. I just have this bet against myself. A part of me thinks she'll never marry again, because she's been burnt so badly twice before and surely she's lost all hope. Another part thinks she's an idiot who will never learn her lesson, and keep burning herself out until she disappears, like a candle flame..." I snorted. "I think I found my answer."
Seth stepped close to the counter, and I warned, "Don't come any closer. Employees only beyond this point."
He stepped back, then ran his hand through his hair. Obviously, he was frustrated. His mud-brown hair was starting to get long, and some of it was going into his eyes. I tried my best to hide my disgust. He was so effeminate with his long hair and the way he spoke. He was a sly little fox, and I wouldn't be fooled like everyone else by his flowery words; he was just another manipulator to me. Figures, as the saying goes, the apple does not fall far from the tree, and some genes can't be erased, I guess--wickedness apparently runs in my family. "Anyway... come home soon, even if it's just to visit. I bet Rosalie would be happy to see you. She's been asking about you, you know, and it breaks my heart because it's not like I have permission to give her your number. That's another thing--are you going to avoid your sister forever? Weren't you two close before?"
"Don't talk to me about Rose." This time, I couldn't hide the rage he had ignited; how dare he talk about Rose as if he was concerned about her, after what he had done to her...
Rosalie had been pretty but frail ever since she was a child, and as sisters, we couldn't be more polar opposites. In the past, Seth had a thing for her, which made me want to barf--he was our second cousin, but still family, and it physically sickened me to recall how he used to court her. Actually, did he still court her...? I wasn't too sure, but wouldn't be surprised if he was. She was girly, graceful, and kind--everything a guy wanted in a girl and everything I was not. In contrast to her, I was always bitter and angry even as a child; growing up, I caused a lot of adults in my family grief because I had a sharp tongue, and wouldn't hold back if I felt I was being challenged. Once, Mother slapped me across the face in pure anger over a fight. Not losing my cool, I had calmly slapped her back. I still remembered the shock in her eyes at the time. How could a child slap her own parent? It was unforgivable, and I knew it.
Rose was my half-sister; she was the offspring of Mother's second marriage, and was beautiful and thin, with luscious long golden curls. She, like Mother, was a dancer and a talented ballerina. There was a part of me that envied her, not because she was pretty and closer to Mother, but because she had a natural gift. She was obviously good at dancing, and I was a good-for-nothing. That was why nothing ever went my way. Regardless, Rose was a good sister who cared for me, I knew, but somehow that made things harder. How was I supposed to tell her what was wrong with me when everything was? She was too pure; she wouldn't understand... So I had chosen the easier route, which was to run away from the bullshit. Since I had moved out, I had cut off contact with almost everyone in my family. The only person who had my cell phone number was Seth, and that was only because he had had a classmate who knew me from a previous part-time job, and had obtained it that way. I couldn't change my number even if I wanted to because it was too expensive to do so, so I was stuck with him forever having that leverage. Of course, he was blocked as a contact, but still.
I think Rose just wanted to connect with me because she didn't know me. Surely, if she did, she would think I was insane...
True, at one point we may have been close. I'm not so sure--maybe when we were really little, like in elementary school. Otherwise, I don't remember ever having a decent conversation with her. All I remember is that I distanced myself from her on purpose, hated her for a while, and then grew indifferent as I realized we lived in worlds too apart from each other to bridge the gap.
I felt bad, but changed the subject. "I need to get back to work. If you're just going to babble some more, then feel free to do so, but don't expect me to listen." And with that, I turned heel and started cleaning the espresso machine. Jeez, an afternoon shift like this would be super slow. I wished the place was full with customers, so Seth could leave me the hell alone.
True to form, by 7 PM at the end of my shift, Seth was still at the shop, waiting for me while casually drinking his fifth espresso. The guy was a lunatic. Wasn't this going too far for my mom? God forbid, was he in love with her too? Sounds like something a freak like him would do.
When I saw Megumi head in for the night shift, I knew it was over. Groaning, I threw my apron into the locker as she and I changed, in and out of our uniforms, respectively.
"Jesus, what happened? You sound so depressed, I might blow my brains out."
After assuring her it was nothing, I started heading out of the locker rooms to meet the inevitable when a voice stopped me.
"Excuse me, miss. May I order a flat white, please?"
I was a bit taken aback by how familiar the voice sounded. Sure enough, it was the guy I had met on my graduation day, when I had gone back to retrieve my diploma. His smile was still gentle. I glanced back towards the locker rooms--Megumi was probably still getting ready--so I shrugged and decided to ring up his order. "Sure. And your name, mister...?"
"Now you ask for my name, Miss Irina."

I have major Encanto brainrot, so here's some headcanons:
Dolores struggles with sensory overload. Especially when she first got her gift, it was often just too much, having to listen to every sound for miles. Pepa would come and sit with her, with a raincloud, to provide some white noise and help drown out the sound.
After a little while Dolores's room changes to become soundproof, giving her a reprieve from the constant barrage of noise.
Sometimes people will go days without seeing Camilo's true form. But they always know he's around whenever they enounter someone acting off, or see two of the same person at the same time.
When the Casita is rebuilt, Bruno's room is no longer at the top of a tower. The stairs were exhausting, which tired him out and discouraged people from coming to see him. It was isolating, so they make sure his new room is much more visitor friendly.
Isabela is gay. That is all. (Just kidding) As she discovers more of herself, no longer confined to being the perfect child, she realizes that she wasn't just not interested in Mariano, but it's because she's attracted to girls. Mirabel and Luisa are literally the most supportive sisters, even if Mirabel likes to tease her about her taste in women.
Mirabel and Bruno make a habit of spending time together, just the two of them. As the former outcasts and misfits of the family, they share a camaraderie that's unique to them. The rest of the family are much more understanding now, but these two still share a special bond. Also they're Aro/Ace solidarity.
Camilo and Bruno are also very close, bonding over a passion for acting. It's silly and fun and gives them both a way to relax and let loose. They definitely have a flair for the dramatic and have been known to startle the rest of the family by suddenly acting out dramas and tragedies. Dolores has run over in a panic, thinking one of them died, at least three or four times.
Even though she's comes around to love and accept Isabela for who she is, Alma gets annoyed at the sheer number of dangerous plants Isabela places around the Casita. Cactuses and carnivorus plants don't exactly make for the safest decor. Isabela compromises by putting them out of reach, up on shelves or dangling from the ceiling.
Julieta was actually a terrible cook when she was younger. She didn't use her gift much as a kid, since cooking isn't exactly a common kid's hobby. But when she started cooking more often, she had to study and learn a lot. Burnt, undercooked, and under or overseasoned food was super common. Now, she's the best cook in the family, but it was a process.
Isabela finds a love for fashion design when remaking her dress. She works with Mirabel, who does all the embroidery, to make new clothes for anyone who wants a fresh look.
Antonio brings home stray animals constantly. To the point where the Casita has to keep expanding his room to make more room. As he gets older, he starts up a rescue of sorts, taking in animals that people can't take care of and adopting them out to anyone looking for a pet.
Since Camilo only takes the shape of a person he's shifting into, he doesn't get access to the families gifts. Dolores has taken a liking to asking him to use their gifts whenever she knows it's him and watching him scramble to try and cover for himself. Ex. Asking him to pick up obnoxiously heavy things as Louisa or asking what animals are saying when he's Antonio. It's her new favorite pastime.
#these were fun! i need to make headcanons more often!#i may do some more for encanto...#encanto#madrigal family#headcanons#encanto headcanons

The concept of Pepa being so happy that it hasn't rained for over a month in the Encanto and everything is getting so dry it's affecting the crops and the forest, but she can't seem to will it to rain because she has Felix and her family and things are so good and she wants it to rain, of course she does, but she just... can't
Imagine being so happy and in love and it making things so difficult for others
People line up to tell her sad stories, to try and make her cry, even Camilo, who's so ready so often with a joke or a cup of tea to make her smile, but nothing more than a sprinkle of water manages to fall
Bruno even gives it a shot, but she's still riding the wave of him being back and she knows know that he didn't mean it on her wedding day, so it doesn't stick
In the end, they have to trick her, and the family are all in on it-- they feel terrible, but it needs to be done
Bruno and Camilo work on the plan for over a week, both turning their flair for the dramatic to the task
Pepa's heart flies up into her throat when Dolores bursts into her room, telling her that something has happened to Felix-- that they have to hurry
She learns that Julieta is all the way on the other side of the valley and none of her food is left
That Felix had been helping to prepare a surprise for her, hoping to make her so happy she starts crying, in the hope that would bring the rain
Storm clouds are gathering as they enter the clearing where everything has been set up
Her panic and pain at seeing the unconscious body of her husband, already starting to show bruises, unable to stop herself from clinging to him too hard, she knows, finally letting out a sob as she feels a hand on her shoulder, followed by heavy drops of water, her tears and the rain mixing on her cheeks-- even the idea of Felix being taken from her has her heart overflowing
"Mami, it's okay, we're all okay," her son's voice comes through, the body in her arms suddenly much lighter and lankier, hugging her back. "We're so sorry," Camilo says, and the rest of her family are following suit, apologising for tricking her
And then Felix is there, whole and safe and pulling her into his strong arms, lips on her cheek, hand cupping the back of her head as he comforts her
Cheers of happiness and relief are coming from the townsfolk and her family, she hears them, but all Pepa can focus on is how it had felt, those moments where the deception had felt real, how the idea of living without Felix had felt like-- like everything had fallen away from her
At least from then on, she had a reliable way to make it rain when she needed to, remembering it

I realized that it is almost half way through October and I haven't read many season specific fics. Horror, fluff, angst, whatever as long as it is in the spirit of October, please. I love you guys, thank you!
Hi @yukinon-writes
Happy Halloween! Thank you for the ask, we definitely have a list for you!
Little Haunted Maze of Horrors by @splendentgoddess (T)
Kagome's school is doing a haunted maze for Halloween, and working the maze is a chance for extra credit that, with her grades, she can't afford to miss. But what happens when Inuyasha's curiosity gets the better of him? Curiosity killed the *cat*.
–
Tommyknockers Tommyknockers Knocking at my Door by @splendentgoddess(T)
The Inu-tachi come upon a friendly village to stop at for the night, though it quickly turns out that everyone is a bit *too* friendly. When Inuyasha goes missing and Sango and Miroku want to settle down, Kagome wonders if everyone is crazy but her.
–
Every Day is Halloween by @splendentgoddess (M)
As a kid I believed in ghosts, but adults usually stop believing in such things. I thought *I* had, until one Halloween when Eri talked me into some 'harmless fun' that changed my life forever. My name is Kagome Higurashi, and this is my ghost story.
–
Onigumo House by @splendentgoddess (M)
“Are you interested in a once in a lifetime experience that's to die for?” Kagome read with some dramatic flair that had Souta laughing. “If you think you have what it takes to survive what goes bump in the night then come for a stay at Onigumo House.”
–
The Raven by @splendentgoddess (T)
Just a cute little Halloween poem-fic. Kagome recites "The Raven"…with a few minor interruptions. Rated T for Inuyasha's potty mouth. Inu/Kag WAFF
–
Hallow (Series) by @splendentgoddess (E)
When Kagome's school friends invite her and her 'jealous boyfriend' to a Halloween party she decides she actually wants to go, and convinces Inuyasha to go with her. It had seemed like a good idea at the time. Complete! Part one of my 'Hallow' trilogy.
–
Drowning in the Night by @witchygirl99 (M)
"You're a vampire." There, she had said it. "And you just made yourself bleed in front of one," Inuyasha snapped. He glared at her bleeding arm like it was personally offending him.
–
Nepenthe by @witchygirl99 (M)
Legends are more than just stories men tell at night. Kagome is proof of this. Inuyasha is, too. An InuKag Mermaid/Siren AU.
–
Winging it by @witchygirl99 (M)
Inuyasha was the first soul in history to break Heaven. So he goes to Hell. He meets a gum-smacking fortune teller, two psychotic real estate agents and...The One. Insert smirking and the odd death. Add some love. Blend until smooth. Serve hot.
–
Imaginary by @witchygirl99 (M)
I'm not crazy,' she told herself. So what if she found the dead bodies? So what if she could hear voices? It meant nothing. She wasn't a fatalist, but then she met him...
–
Venom by hanoyokai (M)
It surrounded everything. It ate up everything in its path. It did not give us any mercy as it destroyed us. This is not related to Marvel Comics "Venom" in any way.
–
Venom by @len-barboza (M)
Original story by Hanyoyokai Art & diagramation by Len
–
Demonic Reality by Inuyashasgrl26 (K+)
Kagome returns home to help celebrate Halloween with her family and at her junior high event. Little did she know Inuyasha has find something intriguing about all of this.
–
Skinwalkers by @clearwillow (E)
Every culture has it's own lore about those that walk the earth with different faces. Some call them witches, some call them shifters, but at the heart of each tale there is a common link: it is a monster. When the night goes dark and still, how can you be certain that there is only one of you?
–
A Walk Through Hell by Kingbaka (E)
Inuyasha and Kagome walk through hell. While this is technically a figure of speech, it is doubtful that our heroes would appreciate the difference. Will they be able to escape their torments? And if so, will they emerge from their trials unscathed, or will the burden of their actions prove too much to bear?
–
Trick or Treat by My-crazy-awesome-socks (T)
An InuKag Halloween oneshot. Kagome's friends dress her up as a rather sexy looking vampire and dare her to act like she's dressed for the whole night. What happens when InuYasha is waiting for her when she gets home and the night's not done?
–
Things That Go Bump in the Night by RoseDragonWitch (T)
Inuyasha met her at Halloween party… and for months… he watched over her, stalked her. Yes, he was a vampire… but even after becoming hopelessly addicted to Kagome's rare blood type...he was no longer just after her blood… he wanted her heart.
–
Awakened Dead by K. Higurashi (T)
Too curious for her own good, Kagome unseals a powerful and hot headed poltergeist from an old katana on the night of Halloween. He's rude, he's crude and possibly the sexiest boy she's ever met. Too bad for the dead part.
–
Scare Me Once Shame on Me by vixenserael21 (M)
InuYasha and Kagome are college students enjoying a Halloween party, but thanks to some sneaky friends, it will not be the kind of party Kagome expects. What happens if she gets scared? Rated for lemony goodness! Inu x Kag, San x Miro

Halloween (Series) by @lavendertwilight89 (E)
AU--Demons exist in secret in the modern era. Inuyasha realizes his mate is human and think he'll never have a shot...or will he?
–
Stay Close To Me by Emmyyasha (T)
Autumn has come, the leaves have changed, and everyone wants to partake in the joys of the fall festival. Corn mazes, pumpkin patches, warm apple cider. They are perfect to get in the Halloween mood while snuggling up to your loved one. But when Kagome decides to face her fears and enter the haunted house, a day of fun turns into the stuff of nightmares. Good thing Inuyasha, her best friend who is also secretly in love with Kagome, is there to protect her.
–
Lake of Drowned Souls by @fawn-eyed-girl (E)
Yash and Kagome's car breaks down on the way to a kendo tournament; Kikyo and Suikotsu pick them up, and the four of them spend the night at a hotel at Lake Suwa. But Kagome sees some mysterious figures coming from the lake; what do they want, and more specifically, why does Kagome think they are after her?
–
Portal Between Worlds by @neutronstarchild (E)
Ten years ago, a portal transported Inuyasha from the demon realm to the human realm. Now a half-demon alone in a world he doesn't understand, he will do anything to get home. When Onigumo brings him a book with all the answers, Inuyasha pushes aside his misgivings and works with the man. He just wants to get home, after all.
Kagome just wants to make an extra buck (and find demons), much to Kikyo’s chagrin. That is why she published Demons Among Us! after all. But strange things start happening when she puts the book online. As if people are using it to open the portals that it hypothesized… When Kagura and Sango join the fray, the stakes grow higher as they try to find the source of the portals. When Inuyasha encounters Kagome, fate is not what it seems.
Not one, but two realms are in danger for their survival. What happens when the final portal opens and an unknowable terror is unleashed? Can the Demon Hunters save the world?
–
The Red Room by @lord-rika (T)
Kagome comes home from school one day and finds out Mama finally bought the family a computer to use. As Kagome learns how exciting it is to have access to the internet, she also learns how dangerous it can be. How will she face this new threat? One-shot written for Halloween!
–
Spooktober 2019 by @keichanz (M)
A drabble collection inspired from Halloween prompts that center around Inuyasha, Kagome, and their two children.
–
Another Day in Hell by @keichanz (M)
The undead and monsters both of the bestial and human variety wander the streets looking for their next kill. To trust blindly could very well mean your death so it’s easier to not trust anybody at all even when they claim all they want to do is help. The smartest thing to do was to look out for number one, question everything, and always, always watch your back. Evil lurked around every corner, hid in every brush, and nowhere was safe anymore.
–
Starting Fires by @lemonlushff (E)
He always hated couples' costumes...But maybe dressing up as a fireman won't be so bad. Not when Kagome as a little surprise up her sleeve. Part of the One Last Ride universe. Brace yourself for all the debauchery.
–
It Will Come Back by @thornedraven (E)
"She went to bed, unaware of her missing cloak. Ignorant, of the clawed hand that had picked it up from its fall off the path. “You know better, darlin’.” A fanged grin flashed in the night. "
A one shot inspired by Hozier's song "It Will Come Back". Slight Little Red Riding Hood inspiration as well. Darker themed Little Red Riding Hood, and much more adult themed. My first AU for Inuyasha!
–
The Ghost of Higurashi Shrine by @elkonigin (M)
After helping her grandfather on a regular, run-of-the-mill-excorcism-turned-blessing (it's better if you just don't ask questions, well maybe you should, Kagome didn't and look at where it's gotten her so far), Kagome finds that things, well, weird things, are happening in her home and around the shrine, in addition to some other places that really just don't make sense. Kagome doesn't consider herself brilliant by any means, she's barely passing as it is, but she's pretty sure that this mess isn't normal.
–
Shot Week III: Spooky Time by MondayChild (E)
In the Halloween edition of Shot Week, we have: a lover tired of being betrayed, a jealous husband, the love life of a village miko, a beautiful dreamer, a divine romance, a camping trip gone wrong, and a high school crush that gets out of hand.
–
The Halloween Party by Cyrus559 (M)
It is Halloween and Kagome is having a break from shard hunting in order to have a good time with her friends in the modern era. But a seemingly innocent Halloween party at an old hotel which is about to close down, turns into something far more sinister than the people there expects. The rating changes to M in the last chapter.

Can't Look Away: The 21 Breakthrough TV Performances of 2017

Can't Look Away: The 21 Breakthrough TV Performances of 2017
A lot of TV these days is perfectly forgettable. Same for most of the performances on said forgettable TV shows. That’s to be expected when upwards of 400+ original scripted shows are made every year.
But just as some truly exceptional shows manage to cut through the noise and grab our attention (you can see our picks for the year’s 15 best right here), there are also those performances that manage to make us sit up, set down our phones and simply watch. These performances transcend network, genre, gender, race and age. They’re the performances that turn a complete unknown into an overnight sensation or finally give an industry vet their due. They’re defined by one simple characteristic: They fantastic.
Without further ado, E! News’ TV Scoop Team proudly presents the 21 Breakthough TV Performances of 2017…
NBC
Susan Kelechi Watson, This Is Us
After being criminally under-used in season one, season two has been the season of Beth and it’s been a beautiful thing to watch. Like Randall so perfectly said, she is “a Black queen” and is finally getting the screen-time she deserves. (Sorry Jack and Rebecca, but Randall and Beth truly are the OTP of This Is Us.)
Netflix
Cameron Britton, Mindhunter
Usually, saying someone is so believable in a role is a great thing. But Britton was so believable as real-life serial killer Ed Kemper (aka “The Co-Ed Killer”) in this breakout role that is might actually be a bad thing? Nah, it’s sill great and is still giving us creepy chills!
Netflix
Lena Waithe, Master of None
In the eighth episode of Master of None’s second season, Lena Waithe proved in just 34 minutes why she’s both an actress and a writer who shouldn’t be ignored. With the standout “Thanksgiving,” co-written with fellow star Aziz Ansari, Waithe’s Denise came of age and eventually came out over the course of a handful of pivotal turkey days in her life. Her history-making Emmy win was no fluke.
NBC
D’Arcy Carden, The Good Place
The Good Place is filled with performers like Ted Danson and Kristen Bell turning in their absolute best and somehow D’Arcy Carden‘s Janet, a guide to, well, everything, manages to steal the spotlight (in the best way possible). Carden infuses the role with an earnest innocence and she handles the emotional requirements of the role easily.
TNT
Niecy Nash, Claws
Niecy Nash has been slaying us for years with her hilarious work in Reno 9-1-1 and her heartbreaking work in Getting On, but it wasn’t until she stepped into down-on-her-luck and desperate Desna Simms’ shoes on TNT’s raucous crime dramedy Claws this summer that she really proved what a powerhouse she is. Playing the nail salon owner caught up in one of the most insane criminal underworlds TV’s ever seen, Nash led an equally impressive cast with aplomb. If only Emmy and Golden Globe voters had taken notice…
Viceland
Trixie and Katya, The Trixie & Katya Show
What do you get when you take two RuPaul’s Drag Race fan favorites from web series to TV show? One of the flat-out funniest things to hit the small screen in 2017. With episodes themed around such topics like “death” and “hooking up,” Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova (real names Brian Firkus and Brian McCook, respectively) have proven that they can talk about just about anything and still manage to make it painfully hysterical. If you haven’t made time for this Viceland original, fix your life.
Freeform
Meghann Fahy, The Bold Type
All three of The Bold Type‘s leading ladies deserve some recognition, but Meghann Fahy was the face we were least familiar with. Now, it’s clear she has an incredibly bright future ahead of her. Her portrayal of the funny, fashion-obsessed, risk-taking Sutton Brady in the Freeform dramedy’s first season proved she’s one to watch.
Big ups to Katie Stevens and Aisha Dee as well!
The CW
Madelaine Petsch, Riverdale
Sure, Cheryl Blossom’s motivations and personality traits change faster than you can say “Jingle Jangle,” but Petsch’s charismatic and snarky performance is always consistent. We live for her saucy one-liners and references, and flair for the dramatic, even selling the crap out of Cheryl’s recent out-of-the-blue obsession with Josie. But her talent truly shines when she taps into Cheryl’s vulnerabilities, giving us a glimpse at the damaged goods below the perfectly-manicured surface.
Netflix
Justina Machado, One Day at a Time
Justina Machado has been kicking around the industry for years, a dependable utility player wherever she was cast. But her starring turn in Netflix’s reboot of the Norman Lear classic One Day at a Time proved that the industry had been sleeping on a true leading lady for all these years. As a single mother who’s also a veteran, Machado imbued the role of Penelope Alvarez with heart and hilarity. As the character navigate a child’s coming out in the back half of season one, viewers were treated to one of the year’s most heartfelt performances.
Hulu
Alexis Bledel, The Handmaid’s Tale
Rory Gilmore, who knew? Alexis Bledel was nothing short of a revelation in The Handmaid’s Tale. She won an Emmy for her performance and for good reason, the heartbreak she was able to convey on screen was palpable. Can we give individual Emmys to Bledel’s eyes as well?
FX
Leslie Grossman, American Horror Story: Cult
Meadow Wilton was not long for this world, but Leslie Grossman gave her American Horror Story: Cult character the perfect mix of comedy and tragedy. Grossman already broke through in 2001 with Popular‘s Mary Cherry, and now we’d like to demand a new iconic breakthrough performance from her every year, please.
ABC
Freddie Highmore, The Good Doctor
Highmore made his mark (as an adult) as Norman Bates in A&E’s Bates Motel, but this year, he’s also proved that he has what it takes to lead a network medical drama as The Good Doctor‘s Shaun Murphy, a brilliant surgeon with autism and savant syndrome. The Good Doctor is the most-watched new show of the season and Highmore even got nominated for a Golden Globe, so we’re clearly not the only ones who have noticed that he’s a serious talent.
Netflix
Noah Schnapp, Stranger Things
Season one of Stranger Things was all about Will, even though he was rarely seen, while the rest of the cast got all the accolades. Season two was all about Noah Schnapp, giving the 13 year-old actor the opportunity to prove that he’s truly a pro at playing horror, and he might even be the best young actor on the show.
Amazon
Rachel Brosnahan, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel was one of the biggest surprises of the year and at the heart of it all is Rachel Brosnahan. The House of Cards veteran truly shines as the titular character. There’s no better way to say it, she’s just effervescent in this star-making role.
CBS
Sonequa Martin-Green, Star Trek: Discovery
The Walking Dead veteran reached new heights as Michael Burnahm on Star Trek: Discovery. As a human raised Vulcan, Sonequa Martin-Green‘s character often struggles with her emotions and this has given the actress plenty of opportunities to flex her acting muscles in ways we weren’t sure she was capable of.
Netflix
Logan Browning, Dear White People
As college student Sam White in Netflix’s college campus satire Dear White People, Logan Browning infuses the activist character with enough heart and wit that even when she’s making some massively poor decisions, you can’t help but root for her. Dear White People arrived at an incredibly important time with a lead actress who more than rose to the occasion. Is season two here yet?
Netflix
Katherine Langford, 13 Reasons Why
Australian newcomer Katherine Langford was truly the heart and soul of Netflix’s standout 13 Reasons Why. The actress handled the emotional role of Hannah Baker, a high school girl who kills herself and leaves tapes behind explaining her decision, with finesse. The Golden Globe nomination is well deserved—keep an eye on this rising star.
CBS
Iain Armitage, Young Sheldon
As Big Little Lies‘ Ziggy, Iain Armitage brought a soulfulness to the proceedings that belied his remarkably young age. And as the youngest ever star of a CBS comedy, he managed to breathe new life into a Jim Parsons character that we’ll admit we’ve grown a bit tired of. As the titular young Sheldon Cooper, Armitage demonstrates comedic chops that rival any adult on his network. Keep your eye on this kid. He’s going to be around for a long, long time.
Showtime
Frankie Shaw, SMILF
As single mother Bridgette in the Showtime comedy based on her short film with the same name, Frankie Shaw manages to make us laugh hysterically while also breaking our hearts. And the fact that she’s also an EP, writer and directer on the show makes her performance all the more impressive. The HFPA was wise to hand her a nomination for season one. And you’d be wise to seek this charming little show out.
Netflix
Betty Gilpin, GLOW
Alison Brie may have been the de facto star of Netflix’s GLOW, but it was Betty Gilpin who stole the show as best friend-turned-rival of Brie’s Ruth, former soap star Debbie Eagan. Watching Gilpin deftly navigate from heartbreak in her broken marriage to the joy of returning to stardom with the ridiculous Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling left quite the impression. Her nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series at the 23rd Annual Critics’s Choice Awards is well-deserved.
NBC
Justin Hartley, This Is Us
It’s no secret that Justin Hartley‘s Kevin was the weakest link in season one of NBC’s breakout hit This Is Us. As an entitled actor struggling with his success, it was hard to really feel too bad for him, especially in the face of the other, stronger storylines. But in season two, with an arc that had chronicled the character’s descent into addiction, Hartley has more than stepped up to the occasion, selling the hell out of Kevin’s struggle.
Did your favorite performance of the year make the cut? Sound off in the comments below!
(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
