For All Intents and Purposes
Rating: Mature
Words: 25k (WIP)
Chapters: 5/12
@erzbethluna and I have joined forces to bring you this fic! We've had an absolute ball working on this and hope you enjoy it too!
When Simon starts spitting fire and hoarding anything associated with Baz, the pair discover he has dragon heritage. Lacking knowledge on half-dragons, they decide to seek out guidance from the only dragon they know–Margaret.
And if they’re going to America anyway, why not make a road trip of it?
Cue monster boyfriends in love, dragony chaos, inventive spellwork and Simon finally getting the road trip of his dreams (with a little bit of adventure along the way).

For all Intents and Purposes
Hello friends! @hushed-chorus Demi and I have been cooking this titanic work for quite a while, and I'm very, very happy to see it out there! YAY! Please go check the link and enjoy the first chapter of 11 for lots of dragony/protector/hot Simon :D
Demi wrote it all, I did the art, but we both developed the story and shared the co-authoring :D I can promise adventure, tenderness, road trips, mystery and some hot (sometimes literally) moments sprinkled all around. For this first chapter, I did this art. I had so much fun with the lights, the poses and overall composition. I hope you like it, please go check this moment in the story! It is a very intense one!

Stitchy Sunday!
As predicted, this is a day late, but I was off having a lovely cottage on the lake weekend with my friends followed by a Hobo Johnson concert. We're just going to pretend this is on time.
So thank you to @roomwithanopenfire @thewholelemon @blackberrysummerblog @tender-ministrations @artsyunderstudy
@emeryhall and @ic3-que3n for tagging me in your S-allerated Sunday posts!
As promised, today is the final outfit reveal for my Simon-inspired Ren Faire wings!
Wings closed, front and back:
Wings open, front and back:
I didn't get to make any of my other adjustments (like stronger magnets), but I did discover that the magnets are adjustable, meaning I can loosen or tighten the screws they're on to make the wings sit a little higher/lower and ensure the wings aren't tilted. I made them as tight as possible (so they sat as high as possible) and tbh I had no issues with them?? Was this the fix I needed all along?
When we arrived at the fairgrounds, I put the wings on, and as I tightened the straps the rivet popped off the left strap. I thought "Did I just do all this work to break them at the last minute and not be able to wear them?" Yet I was oddly calm, resigned to my fate. I asked Kat to see if she could jerry-rig it just in case. She slipped the disconnected top strap through the adjuster-thingy and... it worked??? We are unsure why this was so successful, but I had NO problems with it all day.
I got lots of comments, complements, and a few picture/video demonstration requests, validating my own belief that the wings are cool as shit. The LARPers were especially impressed. And becuase the fair was expanded this year, including more open space and less crowded walkways, I was even able to walk around with them open for a bit! And I didn't knock anything over inside the booths, either!
I also got my first trinkets from trinket-traders because they liked my wings!
I did not come prepared with my own trinkets as I have never been cool before, so I'm workshopping some ideas for next year, including: polished rocks (dragon horde shinies), painted bottle caps (perhaps with a dragony logo on each one?), sea glass (does require effort of going out and finding the sea glass...), scales (not sure what they'd be made of, though. 3D printed and painted? acrylic? gotta be a simpler solution...). Suggestions welcome.
Bonus: As we watached the joust, I of course started to build a Snowbaz Ren Faire AU based around the semi-scripted joust performances we have each year. I doubt I'll ever write it, but it's fun to think about!
I would like to thank Kat for being my Ladie's Maid every year and helping me get into my corset and, now, wings. Also for driving. I would also like to thank Dropout's D20: A Starstruck Odyssey and Netflix's Dead Boy Detectives for being my companions throughout this project. And of course, thank you to all of my Simon Snow friends for the enthusiasm and encouragement along the way!
Next year's upgrade: Tail!

what do you mean with your hc that simon was always a dragon?
okay so this is one of my deepest most self indulgent headcanons because i'm gay and i think he deserves more and sharper teeth but it's extrapolated from a bunch of different details in the series: 1. we don't know what kind of blood davy used in the ritual. lucy couldn't identify it, but it almost definitely wasn't human. killing a dragon is one of the worst things you can do in the WoM and i really think davy isn't above that, at this point. (in terms of what i think the ritual entailed, i don't think he would have killed an adult dragon, either. a son for a son.) 2. simon's false feather wings dissolved in a bloody mess, but his dragon wings did not. iirc, he also had to wish for them, and penelope pointed out that this is fundamentally Not How Magic Works 3. penny also theorized that simon was actually turning INTO a dragon at the moment he got his wings, unless i'm misremembering again? its been a while since my last reread of the series and i have a memory disorder bear with me 4. "you don't kill a dragon unless you're trying to open a portal to hell" davy what did you do. DAVY, WHAT DID YOU DO. 5. once magic stops working on simon at all/after he loses his magic, the wings don't disappear, which makes me think they weren't powered by magic in the first place; they were just a part of his body. 6. margaret almost immediately (probably falsely but still) identifies him as a Kitten. she straight up thinks he's a baby dragon. maybe he smells like one, or feels like one, but i feel like she would be the most qualified to like ... tell? simon insists he isn't, but she seems confused and even a little put off when he tries to say he isn't just a lost dragon-kit. 7. when he's going off his magic is described as very blistery and prickly and black and red, and he glows and smokes and smells like a forest fire. dragon coded as fuuuuck 8. i think it would fucking rule I've never quite decided if i want it to be dragon ancestry, or if he's some kind of changeling via the ritual*, or something else, but the reason i draw the sword of mages with a fancy hilt shaped like a dragon is because i also headcanon that it looks different for everyone who wields it. (in my Baz Is The Heir AU: he summons it as a spada da lato, light as a feather with a handguard that curls like fire in a windstorm, inset with little sapphires) and simon's just ALWAYS been that dragony. i want him to grow more teeth, and they keep growing so he either has to accept them or have them pulled. i want his nails to be hard and sturdy as iron and he just never notices because he's always used them as tools, and he thought everyone's were like that. he bites them off because they break clippers. i want the red scales around the second set of deltoids (the ones on his wings) to start slowly creeping down his back and over his shoulders over time. because i think it would fucking rule. *i subscribe to this one the most, tho. makes sense. also i feel like the mage WouldTM.
#simon snow#carry on#THIS IS LEVEL 2 TO ME BUT ALSO PURE HEADCANON#it doesn't really mean much for the story because simon would never learn of his true ancestry but#the slow-creeping changes that come with late-onset dragon puberty might freak him out and mess with his head a lot#no he doesn't breathe fire (but he's terrified that he'll sneeze and kill baz in his sleep for a while)#he has the sparkteeth but not the fire. the strikers but not the flint.#and he can GROWL and PURR#round 2 (nsfw) is ask me about the changes below the belt#spoilers: he does knot know whats happening AYYYYYY

What's this? an EVEN MORE dragony simon? Let's have some fun.
So this was mostly for fun but I kind of wrote an episode idea for this.
While trying to kidnap Princess Bubblegum again, Finn, through hijinks, accidentally gets Ice King splashed by a dark magic potion Peppermint Butler made, causing IK to go even more princess-crazy, also going kind of berserk and breathing ice everywhere. It also breaks his amulet. Finn and Jake have to keep him distracted while PB and Pep-But make a cure. The whole time Pep-But hides it was dark magic. Marcy shows up and gets super annoyed with IK's antics, casually beating him where Finn and Jake were struggling the whole episode. The candy kingdom gets a little wrecked, the gumball guardians get hurt. IK has no memory of what happened while he was super-dragoned. IK weeps over his broken amulet and everyone feels kinda bad for him, Finn admits it was his fault and they spend the next episode on a goose chase through Wizard City trying to get a new amulet while IK follows them (annoyingly), comically tiptoeing through the city and trying not to break everything.
ps. the spikes and horns are icicles. if you even care

Got tagged. 21 Q’s
I got tagged by @real-life-senshi

So let’s get started!
Nickname: Drew but I used to be called hulkzilla in high school.
Star Sign: I’m a Cancer.
Height: 168cm
Last film I saw: I actually saw Wreck It Ralph 2 - Ralph Breaks the Internet last night as I write this. The movie was great!
Favorite musician: Without a doubt my favourite artist would be the JPop Trio Perfume. They have been so inspirational for me and probably the only band I’ve been consistently listening to these past 11 or so years.
Lately, I’ve been getting into Latin music so there are some bops by Becky G that I like as well.
Song Stuck In My Head: There isn’t any at the moment. Actually... there’s a song from Zumba called Prendela that I’m in to.
Other Blogs: No
Do I Get Asks: Not often
Blogs following: 253 Blogs
What I’m Wearing: Singlet and PJ Pants
Dream job: I don’t really have a dream job anymore. But I would like to become a video game designer or an actor but one needs more intellect and logic while the other needs talent and creative thinking.
Dream Trip: A long trip to Japan through the eyes of a tourist. I’d love to go around Tokyo, Kyoto and Hiroshima especially.
Play any instruments: Nope
Languages: English, Vietnamese and Japanese (to an extent)
Favorite foods: Curry Katsudon, Katsu in general, Korokke, Prawn Crackers is a great snack, Nachos, Burgers, Fries, Steaks, Ramen, Udon, Hargow, Xiaolongbao,
Random facts:
My favourite board game would be Werewolf/Mafia or Betrayal at the house on the hill but I am terrible at lying so sometimes my liking for such games does tend to go down a bit every now and then.
I tend to buy games or books but never play them.
I am a hater for medium to high impact violence, gore, horror so I without a doubt avoid those genres in media.
I consider to be a Visual or Musical person. I often can’t do things if people instruct me without proper visuals or not having them showing me how things are done.
My Favourite Dragon Ball Z character is Future Trunks. I have yet to watch Super in full though but I do dig his blue hair and skinny build.
My Favourite Sailor Senshi/Guardian/Soldier/Scout would be Sailor Pluto, Sailor Mercury and Sailor Jupiter.
My Pottermore houses were Slytherin (initially) and Ravenclaw (2nd sorting) my Ilvermorny house is Pukwudgie.

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you are all well!
@erzbethluna and I are hoping to post the first chapter of For All Intents and Purposes soon! The basic premise of this fic is that Simon starts to take on dragony behaviours (including hoarding things associated with Baz) and they're figuring it out together. It begins about 18 months after Snow For Christmas, and we’ve been imagining what Simon and Malcolm’s relationship would look like after that time. One idea Eli is keen to explore in this story is ‘Malcolm Grimm trying his best.’
So we’ve imagined a Malcolm Grimm who, while not exactly warm, is trying. And his version of trying is to make the occasional joke. The sort of bantery-joke a slightly stuffy father tries to crack as a show of warmth. The sort that makes those unfamiliar with them tense up in confusion.
So please, have this snippet of Malcolm Grim trying.
Baz gives me a gentle nudge and a pointed look. I gather a breath. “Mr Grimm. I’m…I’m sorry I took those things without asking you first.” “That’s quite alright, Simon.” He doesn’t lift his head. “Given you’ve already claimed the heir to House Pitch.” My tail flickers in Baz’s hand (I’d forgotten he was holding it). Then Mr Grimm adds, “I trust you will care for those objects with the same level of attentiveness.” Part of me knows this is not an enthusiastic endorsement of my actions, but another part–the dragon part–perks up. “Can I see Baz’s other stuff? I know there’s–” Baz winds my tail around his arm and gives it a small tug. I wince, grabbing my behind and glaring at him. If Mr Grimm notices, he doesn’t mention it.
Also, Eli reliably informs me that Malcolm Grimm Is Hot.
Thank you all! Tags below the cut! If you are not tagged but want to join in, consider this an invite! Also, if anyone would prefer I not tag them, just let me know!

*
Di lui mi piacevano tre cose. Anche quattro. Il luogo dov’è nato. Altrove. Atananarivo, in Madagascar.
Claude Simon. Chi? Simon. Ma dove abita? L’hai mai letto? No. Certo, è irragionevole, dopo Sartre e Camus… Come mai?

“We’ll let you take him to America, but on one condition.” The other twin (Sophie?) holds her chin high and folds her arms like she’s giving a royal decree. “He needs to go sightseeing, too. He needs to see all the cool places and do all the cool things.”
I gently take Paddington from the twin, then press him into my chest. He smells like the Grimm house–like hardwood and potpourri. “Deal. I promise to take him everywhere.” For all Intents and Purposes - Ch. 3

Tell me about dragon!Simon 👀
Yes! Happily! Thank you for the ask!
This is a collab with @erzbethluna. It's her initial concept and we're having a ball writing it. In this fic, Simon starts to take on dragony behaviours and the boys are trying to figure it all out.
It is titled For All Intents and Purposes and we should start posting in the next month or so!
Also, please accept this offering from @erzbethluna's mood board

We are back, and the boys are in California! The question is, how many times can Simon make ill-considered, dragony attempts to be The Best Boyfriend?
We can do this. We can rescue his shirt and get out of here. I start running. “Simon!” Baz hisses.
