ALL MY TAILS HAVE POINTS UPON THEM. ALL MY TEETH ARE SHARP AND BLUE."
PIC INFO: Resolution at 1205×760 -- Spotlight on a double-page spread of a three-headed European mythology-style dragon, artwork by the late, great Eric Carle (1929-2021), from the 1988 children's book "Dragons, Dragons and Other Creatures that Never Were."
"Let me tell you about me. Children love me, You're a child. All my heads are green and handsome. All my eyes are red and wild. All my toes have claws upon them. All the claws have hooks. I blow smoke through all my noses. It is hotter than it looks. All my tails have points upon them. All my teeth are sharp and blue. I won't bite you very badly, I am fond of you. All my scales are shaped like arrows. They will hurt you if you touch. So, although I know you love me, Do not pet me very much."

In mine and many other east Asian cultures, the dragon traditionally symbolises things like power, wealth and strength (imperial symbol and all)
I think we often forget that in the story of the Great Race, the dragon came in fifth because it'd stopped to give people rain. Then it'd stopped again to push a rabbit adrift on a log across the wide river so it reached the shore safely (that's why the Rabbit year comes before the Dragon).
Dragons aren't meant to just be powerful - they are meant to do good with such power, and to help those in need.
So in this lunar new year, I hope you gain more power, so that you might be able to help others. I pray you have abundant resources so you may give to yourself and those around you. I wish you courage, endurance, kindness and generosity, for yourself and your people.
I hope you, and I, will be rain givers, life preservers, joy bringers.
I hope we will be dragons.
Extremely belated postscript that should have been here far earlier:

""THIS IS MY GIFT TO YOU. ITS LEAVES ARE MORE PRECIOUS THAN GREEN PLUMES...""
PIC INFO: Spotlight on the feathered serpent god of Mesoamerican culture, Quetzalcoatl, from Eric Carle's "Dragons, Dragons, and Other Creatures that Never Were" (1988), illustrated by the late, great Eric Carle (1929-2021).
"In the world's young days, Farmer met Quetzalcoatl in a field by one rustling plant. Like the wind, he whispered in Farmer's ear, "This is my gift to you. Its leaves are more precious than green plumes, its heart richer than jade." Farmer asked, "what is its name?" And the serpent whispered, "Maize.""
