Lorelei/Baxcalliber hybrid

For some reason this Baxcalliber hybrid has more feathers covering about half of her body especially around her chest. Humans think it's to keep her warm. Lorelei has sharp claws and even sharper sail on her back. She is known in the icy mountains for her called demeanor toward humans.

However any human able to break through her I see heart will be alarmed at how warm she could be. However that warmth is only for you. She has no intention in sharing it with others.

She sees you as a bumbling little human fool. Never change She thinks you're cute this way. If any harm shall to come to you They will succumb to her I see breath and sharp as steel claws

Claire/Dragonair hybrid

A Dragonair That has yet to evolve. She likes her half serpentine body. She does not want to look like her cousin Lance who is a hybrid Dragonite.

Unlike the docile Dragonair Claire is stubborn and standoffish, She will not accept help from humans even if she is one foot in the grave. You don't know how you got the eye of this dragon. Maybe it was because despite all efforts of her trying to push you away when you found her injured You still stayed with her until she healed.

She still visits often, Even though she has a dragon hybrid her mannerisms remind you more of a cat. She wants you to keep your distance from her but occasionally, her stricken with curiosity and infatuation will come towards you.

Nessa/Kingdra hybrid

Very wary of people so much so that she almost never comes up to the surface. But you were a rare case. You dropped a necklace into the water and you thought you'd never see it again until you thought you saw a hand coming up from the waves throwing it onto the Sandy Beach.

You yelled out thank you giving the mysterious thing whatever it was a shell. Nessa is wary of humans but you seemed nice. The next time you met your eyes met when you stared down in the ocean blue over a bunch of rocks.

You knew her immediately She must have been the same person who grabbed your necklace! It was the first time she'd ever interacted with a human in a long time and she has not regretted it.

Perrin/salamance hybrid

Looks terrifying but is actually a sweetheart. You were outside taking pictures of pokémon and plants when you come face to face with a terrifying Salamance hybrid. Her claws were sharp her teeth even sharper and her gaze fixated on your device. She looked terrifying yet beautiful at the same time You couldn't help But be mesmerized.

You were scared for a moment but that fear instantly fade, You picked a wildflower putting it behind her ear before takingher picture and gave it to her.

She followed you home and now she visits you constantly, wherever you go she seems to know exactly where you are trying to play with you or your camera.

Cynthia/garchomp hybrid

Terrifying but also a sweetheart. But don't mess with her. She only has so much patience. You've heard that it is very hard to earn a garchomp's respect even more so a hybrid. Dragons have good judges of character You've also heard maybe that's why this garchomp hybrid decided to stay in your camping site just sitting there watching you closely as you study old artifacts and old runes.

She was even a good travel companion when you explored the ruins of Alph, perhaps there was something she was trying to find as well?

Cynthia likes you, What she is seeing you are very knowledgeable and caring of pokémon. You are also interested in ancient treasures of the old. You are also kind and sweet despite who she was you were not afraid. Yeah she likes you.

Rika/Flygon hybrid

You lived near the flats of the Mesa in the paldea region You've heard that hybrids were rare more so dragon hybrids. However you're starting to think that was a lie. Everyday you Walk on the same trail and this hybrid you don't know what she's doing has been trying to show off to you.

You try to ignore her at first only for her to frown at you. Now she's trying to get your attention, stealing your things, playing with you, whipping up tiny Sandy gusts to blow stuff off of you.

That toothy smile and that wild look in her eyes you don't trust. You could almost see a glint of mischief. However, that was all you saw until she protected you from a while pokémon.

they should have made his champion fight harder bro. like when he threw out that dragonite/politoed lead i got such a huge grin on my face bc i was like "fuck YES im gonna get tailwinded on and swept with 100% accurate hurricanes" but dragonite doesnt have tailwind even tho it has an empty move slot??? i think if they gave politoed a damp rock instead of a wacan berry, gave dnite tailwind, and swapped out pory-Z's thunderbolt for 100% accurate thunder this would have been by far the coolest fight in the series. we were so close to getting a fight against a whole-ass rain tailwind team but game freak are cowards. the incineroar inclusion was awesome tho

What are your top five dragons?

I've thought long and hard about this, and I've come up with a list that I think is pretty good.

Spoilers for, honestly, like, a couple things below the cut. I've tagged the post accordingly.

5. Raijin, my Dragonite from Pokemon Violet

(Obviously this isn't specifically a picture of Raijin, my Switch is sadly batterydead at the moment, but this is about what she looks like in my head. Anyway!)

Somehow or another, Dragonite ended up being the very last Gen I Pokemon I'd never caught or trained in any way. I'd caught all of the others in SOME playthrough of SOME pokemon game over the years, even the ones people generally don't love or tend to forget about. (I will be a Lickitung apologist until the day I die.) I'm not sure why I avoided the Dratini line for so long. Some general subconscious backlash? I can't really say for sure. Anyway, I caught Raijin off the coast of Paldea in Violet and she quickly became essentially the ace of my team. As it turns out, Rain Dance + Thunder with an Electric terra type is a pretty good combination.

4. Black Hole Dragons, from a Dungeons & Dragons homebrew sourcebook

I looked and looked and to my IMMENSE frustration, could not find a copy of the old-school D&D homebrew sourcebook that these things are from, but please trust me and hear me out here.

Black hole dragons as depicted in this book, a truly ridiculous bestiary of appropriate foes for Epic-level adventurers, were bizarre snaking collages of geometry that could grow to be larger than the size of the visible universe and erase people from existence by breathing on them. After encountering these when reading these sourcebooks at the impressionable age of uh....like, 23, vanilla D&D's usual array of chromatics and metallics don't do a ton for me anymore.

3. Nicol Bolas, from Magic: The Gathering

This guy.

This fucking guy. This is how you do an impossibly powerful doomsday villain right.

Nicol Bolas is a dragon who's also a dimension-hopping wizard. As part of what is by my estimation one of Magic's last good sets, he also kills a bunch of faux-Egyptian deities and takes their place as the divine ruler of an entire dimension. This guy fucking rules and every single card that's ever had his name on it is awesome and if you disagree, well, that's good for you, because WoTC killed him right around the time they decided to make Magic boring forever.

2. Falin Touden, from Dungeon Meshi

No, she counts. Get back here.

If I stopped to count all of the ways I thought Falin was an amazing character we'd be here all day, but very briefly I find her arc and her interesting liminal role in Dungeon Meshi's narrative super compelling, and I find her characterization very, very relatable, and not entirely in a way that reflects well on me.

But as a *dragon.*

As a DRAGON

Falin is still one of the best to ever do it. The original Red Dragon is a very cool and pivotal part of Dungeon Meshi, and I love that too, but when Falin is fused with it by Thistle we get what is just honestly one of the most memorably bitchin character designs of all time, a ludicrously hot capital MG Monster Girl, and a huge driving force for the rest of the story. Not to mention Ryoko Kui clearly put a ton of thought into how she would work, since a key flaw in her design (so to speak) is what eventually leads to her being saved. I love her to pieces, and the form Falin finally gets at the very end of the story is honestly super cool-looking too! Although it's less dragonny than this one.

The Dragon, from "Dragon"

headspace-hotel's "Dragon" is one of my favorite poems of all time. It's easily the best tumblr post, and while I don't read a ton anymore, it's definitely one of my favorite overall pieces of literature.

I realize that being so brief in the top entry makes this a little anticlimactic, but I can't bring myself to rob the poem of its impact. I linked it there, so please go read it. More than anything else on this list, it's made me think. Beyond simply thinking it's an absolutely great piece of work (which it is), it's very meaningful to me. A reminder that the danger is still present in our time.

Some honorable mentions: the rest of the Dungeon Meshi dragons, every dragon from the Souls series and from Elden Ring, Paarthurnax from Skyrim, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Godzilla, Beast Machines Megatron, and Odious, the Green Dragon who turns into a giant d20 that I bought from Hasbro Pulse a year or so ago.

📢 Champions

When the Pokémon World Tournament happened a while ago, I was assigned to follow the contestants to get footage of them for the media. Never in my life have I met so many stuck-up, inconsiderate, and selfish people. I could talk about most of them for hours, so I’ll try to be brief.

Red was fine. He was extremely quiet, to the point he only said five words to me in almost a week of shadowing him. “Cool hat. I like it.” He also didn’t do much. He spent most of his days in the green room staring absentmindedly at a wall or playing with his Pokémon. Fine on paper, but the higher ups hated my footage since it wouldn’t make “good TV”. Not necessarily his fault but I associate the memory with him.

Blue… Imagine the most annoying teenager you’ve ever met times 10. I’m sure Blue could be a fine person in a vacuum, but since he was an “esteemed guest” at the PWT, he could essentially do whatever he wanted. I’ve never seen anyone eat as much as he did. He also loved being on camera. Every other second he would be pulling a stupid pose or asking me to record him during a practice battle. Just a pain to be around, overall.

Lance. The first words he said to me were, “Are you a fan of the Dragon Type?” That’s all he talked about to everyone and anyone he met for five days. Every second I spent with him was agony. The best part was when he challenged me to a battle right before he left and Laguna sweeped his team with Ice Beam, including his ““invincible”” Dragonite. Needless to say, he didn’t do as much bragging after that.

Steven is Lance with an off button. He loves rocks, he’s practically obsessed with them. The day we met he showed me his entire collection, which I have to admit was pretty cool. But after that, he rarely brought it up! He mostly kept to himself after that and even tried to have normal conversations with me. He also lives like a minimalist. He brought two bags to the event, one of which was entirely filled of duplicates of his standard suit. How he can afford those, I have no idea.

Wallace acted as though everywhere he went was the Nimbasa Music Theatre. Everything had to be a performance. Whether it was ordering food, talking to people, or signing autographs, every action was done with a dramatic flair. He also never stayed still for more than a few minutes. His catchphrase was, “You there [Me]! Let’s go someplace fun!”, even if it was 40 feet down the road. In his defense, a couple of them were pretty fun like the Marine Tube.

Cynthia and I seemed to share a “Let’s get this over with” attitude so we hit it off pretty well. However, despite getting along with her, I essentially became her answering machine. She would never make a decision without my input and it got old really fast. Her “body guard” Garchomp also took some getting used to. She’s a massive softie, but I think I still have rashes from her impromptu “hugs”.

I have mixed feelings on Alder. On one hand, he shot my dream of being Pokémon League Champion into the void. On the other hand, he seemed like a good person. He cared about my feelings and offered to talk with me about the Champion thing. Though that was more of a curse than a blessing. He loves to talk. A simple conversation about the weather can last up to 30 minutes. His jokes are terrible too. I want to like him, but never will.

Iris seemed like a repeat of the Blue situation at first. She was loud, bratty, and really irritating. But, as time went on, she calmed down and was genuinely fun to be around. She was incredibly mature but wasn’t afraid to be herself. Her team was awesome to see in battle too. If it weren’t for the horrendous first impression, she’d be my favorite Champion. Maybe I have a soft spot for kids.

That’s all the Champions I’ve met. I know there are others, but I can’t speak on them. From what I’ve seen, Diantha seems like a snob, the Alola League Champion is a boxer so I don’t know what to expect, Leon’s probably really stuck up, and I assume Geeta acts like my boss, which means I hate her by proxy.

Ok sillies over uh. Acicula is my first pokemon as apart of the starter program. Given to me by Professor elm. She’s a fucking sweetheart, menace on the battlefield. I’ll try to get a video. Awhile back I was in the Kanjoh triregionals tournament and she kicked ASS against Lance.

She loves being intimidating for show but she’s like. A crybaby. If I don’t give her attention after a battle she’ll throw a fit even if im being shoved away to get picture for the news. Or whatever . I think she has hisuian genes but I don’t know.

I’m very blessed to have her be so docile and sweet but from what I remember she was from a super reputable breeder hence her much more calm temperament. I’ve heard from other typhlosion owners they’re absolutely hard to corral when they evolve.

Pokémon stuff

I made an oops and first put this on my WOF only sub blog, so here we are again.

To break up my dragon drawing and animating time I did some Pokemon like I wanted to. Full disclosure: I only ever played Pokemon Diamond (I also played some Mystery Dungeon but that's not a main-line game). Any way, these are the starter and the version/box-art legendary I would have gone with had I been able to play all of the versions. And it's the form of the starter I like the best not including megas. It's just the main-line, for remakes consider that I'd take the same guy again. You'll noticed I like three things that really influence my decisions: reptile, bird, and round. So have some limited explanations as to my choices.

Red: charizard because it's a cool dragon and I like Mew a lot from the first movie so I wanted to draw it. I also loved Ash's sassy Charizard who was too cool to listen to him.

Silver: Lugia is a fish bird and Tododile is smol chompy dude.

Emerald: Rayquaza speaks for itself and the mega is tight. Grovyle was so cool in the anime and in the mystery dungeon games.

Diamond: The only one I actually played and I thought Dialga looked awesome. Piplup is round bird number 1.

White 2: I didn't really find myself drawn to any of the starters but Samurott was kinda interesting. White Kyurem is dope.

Y: Ash's Greninja was wicked and I like the Y shaped bird guy.

Moon: Bat and round bird number 2

Let's Go Evee: Lefeon is very cute and Mewtwo is also cool so I drew it.

Sword: Sobble is round and sad, very cute. I didn't like either legendary very much, but this dog had a sword.

Legends: Oh my gosh high Typhlosion is maybe my favorite of the bunch ever. And god of course.

Scarlet: I love the lizard bike that runs even though it has wheels. I also love round chomper. He wants upsies.

I will draw some more. I haven't drawn Pokemon in maybe ten years. And for many of these buggers it was the first time I ever drew them. So I stuck to sketches. I also want a Poke-sona. I'm thinking a dragon of sorts, maybe Dragonite, Flygon, or Salamance?

It's a sequel to my fanfic "Pokéfriends", and it's about a Dragonite trying to live a good life in a world where her kind doesn't have the best light, and a Slowking that wants to stand out as "not like other Slowking" while also wanting to be the coolest one there is. It's a slice of life with some small plots, and it's mostly improv writing. I really enjoy developing the characters and setting on the spot, and I also enjoy writing about my favorite Pokémon of all time (Who is one of the main characters) as well as some Pokémon that I see don't often get attention.

Has anyone ever had a Pokemon deck where they clearly promote ONE Pokemon card to the best in the deck, but in reality it is the mostly unlikely Pokemon to be OP? I'll go first.

My Flaming Charizard deck my brothers gave me. The box is Charizard, the mat is Charizard, the engeries are fire so Charizard can use his awesome ability; the coin that decides my fate? Charizard.

Which card causes my brothers to tremble in fear?

The Queen. Specifically, Niodoqueen who was put in there SOLELY to counter any water types poor Charizard can't take out.

Wonder how she EARNED her title as Queen? Check out the card and do the math.

Guess how many evolution Pokemon are in my deck? Guess how many are in the field by the time Nidoqueen shows up? Hehe...

Okay, okay, doubt the ability to get Nidoqueen powered up right away? Her base form has "Call for Family" which allows me to call for ONE basic Pokemon and put it on my bench, which is supposed to be used to set up Charamander to Charizard. It proceeds to build up an entire team from which I find the evolutions to evolve (Somehow Charizard doesn't show up till LATER!) which often result in Nidoqueen having FOUR evolved Pokemon on the bench. 50 + 50 + 50 + 50 + 10 = 210 damage.

In other words, thanks bros for giving me the power to take out your Dragonites!!!!

Okay, about Johto, this is something I've been thinking for a little while and it's that, what if Maroon was actually from Johto and when she ran away from home and started to travel she ended up in Kanto? I'm not too sure about it yet but anyways, in the future she goes to Johto AND THAT'S WHERE THE FUN PART COMES BECAUSE HEHEHEH....

A couple days ago I was talking with Nero about a possible scenario (located in the part where all the kids are together in the same place after the Price fight and everything) where Maroon calls Blue and asks him like "Oh, hello dear, how did everything go? Are you and Red okay?" And Blue talks with her and explains where they are and that they are okay so she decides to go there with Dragonite to bring them food and everything. When she arrive she is saying hello to everybody noticing that there were more kids than she actually thought, that's when she would meet Silver and Crystal and talk with all of them like "Oh kids I didn't bring too much food, why don't we go to my restaurant? I can make you all a big meal, you must be hungry" and she just keeps talking with the kids when she notice that Red isn't there and asks Blue about him, Blue explains that he left with another kid AND GIRL SHE STARTS PANICKING AGAIN LIKE "HE DID WHAT? AND DIDN'T TELL ME ANYTHING?" AND THIS IS THE FUNNY PART I WAS TALKING WITH NERO SKANJS. The moment she is panicking with Blue trying to calm her down Clear arrives to see Crystal and talk with her and Maroon notices he is a police officer and goes like "FINALLY THE POLICE, thanks for calling Blue" and Blue would be just 🧍I didn't do anything.

Maroon would explain the situation to Clear and the man would be just 🧍 "I just arrive what the hell.." and well Maroon asks him to help her look for her kid and tells Blue to go to her restaurant with all the kids so when she comes back everybody is in the same place. All the way to mt Silver she would be talking non stop with Clear about all the things her poor child has been before JDKANAJA.

Eventually she finds Red and Gold and talks with them about how dangerous that was (calling out Gold like a hundred times) and that they need to go with her and Clear.

And about Gold, she KNOWS that kid can be a little devil sometimes but she still loves him as well, she just keeps and eye on him so he doesn't end in trouble or making Red end in trouble as well.

"You! You win the competition! As literally the only individual here who made something without cheating! Congratulations!" The judge awards Paras with the prized Golden Leaf! *nibble*

The captain, having been falsely accused of piracy, decided to become a real pirate! Fortunately this is a children's show so no actual piracy was done. Several government takeovers were attempted however.
