i've been thinking about it a lot so here's the history of future mallilian:

🌹Lilian graduates of NRC at 19 years old after doing an internship as Trein's assistant. Malleus graduates at 180 years old with an internship as a helper for queen Maleficia.

🌹Lilian goes on a trip across twisted wonderland accompanied by Grim. She goes to visit her old NRC friends. She travels a year, she is now 20.

🌹Lilian returns to her job as Trein's assistant permanently. The man is getting old, he cannot work alone anymore. During that time, she works to make Ramshackle an official dorm. She also exchanges letters with Malleus.

🌹 Lilian is 24. She and Malleus unite through marriage.

🌹 3 years later, an egg is conceived through magic. Lilian takes care of it alongside Malleus as she can, but doubt is still lingering. If she cannot provide magic to the egg, will her child perceive her as it's mother?

🌹 Lilian is 29. The egg hatches, and two baby dragons come out. One is a girl, named Malice, and ressembles her father in all aspects. The other is a boy, named Malverne, and has his mother's eyes. And they love both their parents.

🌹 Lilian is 30. Trein goes into retiring, and she takes his place. Using the dark mirror, she comes back to her family each night.

🌹The kids are half-human, so they grow up twice as fast as Malleus did. Malverne is a mama's boy, and Malice gets doted on by her father. Lilian grows older by the day and her husband, who hasn't changed, starts to worry.

🌹Malverne and Malice are now mentally twelve years old. They receive the news their mother died peacefully in her sleep. Their father locks himself in his room for a month. For the first time in their many years of existence, they feel truly alone.

🌹As an hommage, Ramshackle is finally open as the eight Night Raven College dorm. It is based on the Beast Tamer's bravery.

🌹Malverne and Malice are both 95 years old. They attend NRC. Malice is sorted into Pomefiore, and Malverne into Diasomnia. They retrace the steps their mother took, and listen to the ghost's stories about her time at the school. They feel closer to her than they ever did before.

🌹Malice stares at her mother's statue, standing right beside's the other seven on main street. She envies her brother for being the closest to their mother, even though she knows she loved them the same.

🌹 The twins graduate, their father becomes king. They shall remember the past and thrive for the future.

The walk back to the heart of Reynyr is filled with an uneasy tension between your brows, a couple glances to your right tells you Hongjoong is feeling the same weight of unanswered questions. Before he cracks, you break the silence, hoping to avoid any snide elusive comments from Hyunjin.

“So, the alliance is with wolves?” You tentatively offer in Felix’s direction ahead of you.

Hyunjin lets out an amused sigh, turning on his heel to walk backwards to answer you.

“Did those look like your run of the mill canines to you? They’re ancient creatures, in the common tongue they’e best known as werewolves but there’s a bit more to them than that.”

Hongjoong gives you a look of confirmation before cocking a questioning brow at the elves.

“I assume we’ll only be made privy to the details by Farija?” 

“Correct.” Hunjin smirks before twisting back around into step with Felix.

“Don’t fret you two, we’re heading to Fraija right now to report this.. incident. He’ll likely divulge you in the details then considering the circumstances.” Felix says, looking over his shoulder to smile at you both. 

It can’t happen too soon. That was a close call, if you’d not been with the elves, hell if the wolves hadn’t shown up, you’d be in the hands of Ivorian soldiers right now. You shake off the thought with a shudder.

Standing once again before Fraija, you sense the immediate tension in the space. The elven leader is quick to confirm it.

“It is no coincidence that you both set foot into our borders and this attack comes about so soon after. There is no telling who knows our location but this we know for sure, Igoras is no longer hesitant to enter our borders.” He turns to Hyunjin and Felix who nod with understanding as he speaks.

“We must move things along swiftly, they will need to be trained as to not be a liability to you both. And as little as I like divulging our plans to strangers, we cannot have you in our borders any longer and after a little research into your history-“ he sends a pointed look at Hongjoong before continuing- “our people something to place our hopes on.”

“My history?” Hongjoong questions carefully.

“You’re familiar with the name ‘Park Seonghwa’ correct?”

Hongjoong stiffens in place, his eyes misted over with an emotion you cannot place.

“I am..” he answers plainly.

“He needs to be found, he needs to find it in him to make a stand. We cannot complete our plan without him.”

“And what exactly is your plan?” Honjoong bites out. 

You don’t know who this Seonghwa is and how he relates to Hongjoong’s history but you can’t imagine it to be anything good. Fraija doesn’t so much as wince at his tone and answers slowly.

"Calgrai's history is rich with suffering caused by Igoras. They are power driven barbarians with no care for understanding the natural world or the power that runs through it. They usurped their position of rule when our ancestors were weak from the war with the lands of Valgor across the sea and now our people are left scattered. Reynyr was valiantly defended and rebuilt, with magical wards of concealment to preserve what is left of our kin. However, this land is dying. Hatred and fear contorts like ivy and the very air is thick with misery. All the people’s off this land have their purpose, be it flora, fauna, the sun in the sky or the water that runs through the earth. The land has fallen out of balance, and with it our people are perishing. The land simply does not have the magical power left to sustain us for much longer and with that growing weakness, Reynyr will be an easy target for Igoras to wipe out. The only way to restore such balance is to rid the land of its plague. That plague is Igoras. To do this, we need to unite the peoples, be it bandits or the great dragon tamers of the north. Most of all we need someone who can channel that combined power into destroying Igoras.” 

You’re stunned, the history of Igoras was something you knew little of. All you were made privy to by your limited education for your position in the palace was that the woodlands were littered with blood thirsty creatures of magic. Cruel with intent and needing to be destroyed like vermin. Drilling into you the notion of the kingdom being a safe haven to be grateful for and loyal to. Of course, you’d long doubted the reliability of such ideas as you grew older and witnessed the horrors the kingdom exposed you to. You shiver lightly as the image of your mother being dragged away from your crying form crosses your mind, before being snapped out of your thoughts by Hongjoong’s voice.

“And you believe Seonghwa fits such a role?” Hongjoong questions.

“When last you saw him he was but a boy, unchecked and unchallenged in his power and rage at Igoras for wiping out his kin, now we hope those ailments have matured with age.” Fraija says with conviction.

“Those sound like words formed of desperation rather than certainty, your judgement is clouded.” Honjoong replies, you hold your breath at the cold turn the conversation has taken. Fraija only smiles.

“These are desperate times, a little hope is not a bad thing to hold onto young one…Be that as it may, my kin felt a surge of power not two moons past, the kind that could’ve only came from the force of a sorcerer.”

A sorcerer… the strength that word hits you with is unparalleled.

A sorcerer. A commander of magic. With a sorcerer this is a fight we could truly win.

The hope that fills your veins at the thought is enough for you to find your voice.

“So, you would like us to find Seonghwa?” You ask.

“Yes, Hyunjin and Felix will accompany you as well as one of the wolves- which one is not my decision but their leader’s. I cannot leave Reynyr myself as it evidently requires more wards of defence.” He finishes.

Hongjoong looks at you as if to ask your permission. The glint of newfound hope in his eyes tells you enough of his thoughts on the matter. Apart from the land’s dire need for salvation, Friaja’s plan gives you the courage to realise that you have your own score to settle with Igoras. So you nod at Hongjoong and turn back to Fraija.

“We’ll do it.”

Carnivean, warbeast

A long time ago, I intended to photograph all tabletop miniatures that I finished painting from around 2010-2013. It's probably better that I did that now instead, having both a better phone camera and an easy way to set up for photos.

I had, and even played, some of the "Legion of Everblight" army from a wargame called "Hordes". It's the only tabletop game where I have ever finished painting the minis (besides the Paranoia RPG minis, but I need to get to those out for a different post someday). I think it helped that they apparently tried to cater to my aesthetic tastes specifically...

The army's concept is basically, endangered winter elves get horribly corrupted, mutated, and controlled by the remaining sliver of an eldritch dragon (who's trying to make up for having it's body destroyed by an even bigger eldritch dragon).

I'll split these into two posts (second post here) so that the body horror can be tagged. This post has the tamer models:

Raek, warbeast - (this design is one of the reasons why I have described this army as "xenomorph dragon elves")

I stopped playing because I ultimately realized that wargaming just wasn't for me. At least I can say I gave it a fair shot once upon a time, and more importantly, accrued experience with a form of acrylic painting.

'24 March Refine Review

Mmmh delicious update. Here was my prediction and I did pretty good.

Okay, I predicted that Seiros was going to effectively have Atk/Def/Res+6 and omni breaker at all time. I did this by combining the player phase standard and enemy phase standard condition. FEH just gave her no condition at all. All this, plus Guard and Accelerate Special, all the time. Is this powercreep? At least her second part requires more than 25% HP, which is where we have the true damage based on foe's Res (I guessed that) and Dragon Wall (I guessed true dr based on Res), and 7 HP after combat (2 for 4). This behemoth combined with her support utility makes her an anchor of Aether Raids.

Dagr got a much tamer way of distributing [Pathfinder]. Rather than all allies, she only does 1, her support partner. This mean she can't be used with Arena / Aether Raid Defence teams, but that's likely what her sister will do. In Aether Raid Offence is where she is meant to be. Outside of that, she has Grand Strategy and Panic (For Atk/Spd/Def) during combat, true damage base on Atk (since her B slot already does Spd TD), and 40% DR (guessed that one). I really should have predicted Panic in combat since her other alts do that.

Wed! Micaiah got a proper broadleaf dagger effect in her base kit, meaning you don't need the Dou button, with omni breaker added in. She then has all the Chill tier 4 skills in one effect, making all the highest Atk, Spd, Def, Res foe penalized and [Sabotage], with foe's nearest also getting penalized so she can gain as much Atk during combat as possible. So if there is one enemy left, they will get 28 penalties turned into Atk for Micaiah. Also, DR halving makes it so tanks can get the true brunt of damage.

Annette got the extra turn after rallying like I predicted this weekend after making the theorycraft months earlier. It's funny that Silvan is getting an alt that does the same thing, but then buffs himself extra, rather than the target ally. Annette doesn't get the +1 movement, but she does get to move 4 spaces with that additional turn. After that, she has . . . tier 4 Seal Spd/Def/Res. That makes sense since she comes with Def/Res Ruse. The bonus is that if the foe has penalties already, she deals 15% of her Atk as true damage. I really thought it would be 20-10% of foe's Atk, as that's what Ash did, but ah well. Combined with 40% DR and this true adaptive damage, this might make up for the fact she needs her Ruse skill, that could be replaced with NFU or Tempo. Oh, and skill no +1 movement to ranged cavalry. Guess we can't mess. Hopefully you will just see her more in random event modes rather that high level play.

F!M!Corrin is much more powerful than his female counter part, but now realize on solo conditions to get the whooping 11 to all stats. Plus, he gets Guard and 7 HP healing after combat unconditional, just like . . . Serios? Is it just going to be dragons that get unconditional stuff? Maybe for now. He also gets Atk/Spd+6, [Dodge] and "neutralizes foe's bonuses" if he is < 2 units adjacent to him, at the start of turn. That pairs well with Rouse. Oh, and there's Spd TD.

Midori's Lucky Bow (surprise) doesn't have the [golden bar] mechanic, but still has the Spendthrift effect. It's now supercharged to 15% Atk TD and 15% Atk TDR, to make up for the +2 Special cooldown after combat. However, with the omni breaker in the second part, she might trigger moonbow (or noontime if you are feeling tanky). Oh, and she can heal and cleanse allies of penalties, like the apothecary she is. I'm glad she got a good weapon, and now I wait for when her and Eir get a harmonized alt together. I'm Kind of miffed we didn't get Mirabilis and Linhardt as a harmonized unit.

Finally, Gangrel, got the adapted damage we expected, but he also just inflict Spd/Res and [Guard] on the nearest foes in order to get his 20% Res TD. Also, in combat panic and 30% DR (no brave exceptions oddly)

Oh man, I'm going to need to speed up if I want to talk GHB units during their respective normal banner, since Jorge is next. What's that one? Oh, the long awaited Path of Radiance banner, Despair and Hope. This was when the power crept became noticeable with a Dragonflower jump and CYL4 just finishing. We have come so far. Thou, I could also just do all the Summer banner refines in one blog too. What do you think?

Chapter 4 Nightmare Fight Part 2

“That’s impossible!”, Kai gasped as he backed away.

“That wasn’t just me making a convenient costume change to mess with you. You’ve seen what’s been happening to the rest of me in reality. He’s losing and being devoured. That’s why now I am Aichi because I’m being assimilated by the Void.”, Void Aichi explained.

“No…”, Kai growled.

“I know more than anyone that you’re too late. I’m perfectly aware of the condition of the rest of me. As I said it’s only a matter of time.”, Void Aichi replied with a content smile and closed eyes.

“I won’t allow it…I’m going to save you!”, Kai declared.

“That explains his extreme shift in behavior. When he was still mostly Tatsunagi he was taunting and playing with me but as he’s become more Aichi…he’s become more serious and cold…”, Kai thought as he met Void Aichi’s gaze.

“You can’t. Just give up. The Void has already taken near complete control of my body twice at this point. Maybe if you hadn’t proven yourself so untrustworthy recently I could have confided in you but it’s too late for that.”, Void Aichi replied.

“Don’t you dare give up, Aichi! I’ll attack! Burn it all away Overlord!”, Kai declared.

His damage had now exploded up to five as well but he wasn’t alarmed in the slightest even as he stared down a double critical.

“I guard.”, Void Aichi countered as he guarded with multiple grade zeros.

Kai gritted his teeth as he saw that no matter what he drew during his twin drive that he wasn’t breaking through. His turn ended and Void Aichi put his hand on his deck to draw his next card.

“I’ve really been such a fool. Since I was in grade school I knew the truth about people but I blindly ignored it because of this card you gave me. The moment I received it I became blinded by that false hope.”, Void Aichi explained.

“It wasn’t false. You’ve made friends. There’s countless people who have come to treasure you and couldn’t live without you.”, Kai objected.

“Friends…? Having them has just been painful…It’s only created a vulnerability which people have used to twist knives into my heart.”, Void Aichi replied.

Kai gritted his teeth as he looked down.

“That WAS my fault…because I unleashed Link Joker onto everyone. That’s not something that would normally happen. Besides, I doubt that’s how you REALLY feel. I thought that my actions under the reverse were completely my own but it had influenced me. That’s not to say I wasn’t responsible. I definitely was. I subconsciously knew and let it happen. I didn’t care as long as I continued to win.”, Kai explained.

“It’s all a pain…It hurts…It hurts too much. I’ve been in so much pain I just feel numb to it all now both physically and mentally. I WILL tear down those bonds chaining my heart!”, Void Aichi declared as he drew his card and started his turn.

This intensity…

It was definitely the kind that Aichi would give out but it was heavily distorted by the Void.

Void Aichi rode Gancelot’s break ride and filled his field with Gold Paladins effortlessly replacing the units he destroyed. Kai staggered back as he could just barely stand up to Void Aichi’s assault.

His hand was left nearly empty as Void Aichi looked down at Kai with disappointment.

“Is this how you felt when you used the reverse against me the first time? This resistance…it’s pathetic. It’s such a letdown. I haven’t fought in weeks yet you’re here on the ground barely clinging on.”, Void Aichi questioned.

“This fight hasn’t been decided yet! I’ll show you my true form! I crossride! Dragonic Overlord the End!”, Kai declared.

Void Aichi didn’t seem intimidated by the End’s presence unlike the previous time he faced it. He had to admit that Void Aichi had been playing absolutely perfectly and efficiently but he wouldn’t let something like that stop him. One thing he found odd though was that Aichi was messing around with the soul which he’s rarely done before. He would have to keep his guard up.

Kai was determined to wipe that expression off his face. That hopeless, empty expression…It was like he had been reverted to how he was before receiving Blaster Blade.

Aichi needed him again.

He needed him to save him.

And he would stop at NOTHING to do so. It was the least he owed Aichi. He would pull him back into the light to be with his friends kicking and screaming if that’s what it took. Most importantly…he would restore that hopeful smile and that pure optimism that could warm the coldest hearts. The one that melted his…even through the reverse.

Kai threw everything on the table without restraint. He was going to burn away the Void and its hold over Aichi. First in this illusion then in reality.

He burned away Void Aichi’s forces without mercy once more. Then he was battered with attacks.

Again and again…

He attacked, determined to burn the Void to ashes. No matter how many times he had to restand he would do so.

He snickered when Void Aichi threw down a perfect guard.

His whole assault was stopped cold.

“That’s it? That was boring, Kai. You think I don’t know how to deal with the End by now?”, Void Aichi questioned.

In reality…

Crusadermon easily scared off anyone in their path as they carried Kai back to Card Capital. Misaki and Emi instantly ran in when they returned with Kai and Dracomon.

“What’s going on with Kai?!”, Misaki questioned.

“We don’t know. We were hoping to find that out after getting him out of that mess outside.”, Kourin explained.

“It’s another Digimon. Is that Kai’s?”, Shin questioned.

“I’m Dracomon.”, Dracomon replied as he waved enthusiastically which made everyone sweat drop.

Any fears those inside had about the juvenile dragon melted away at its friendliness. It was quite ironic considering who his tamer was…the mostly unfriendly member of their group. They expected this out of Aichi’s partner, not Kai’s.

“Let’s lay him down.”, Shin said as he looked for a futon.

Heiressmon came out with his tail wagging at seeing another rookie.

“Oh! Friend! Friend! Wanna play?”, Heiressmon asked Dracomon as they sweat dropped.

“Children…”, Crusadermon grumbled.

The others focused on Kai as Dracomon looked over to Kai.

“Maybe later. Kai needs it. I can feel it.”, Dracomon replied.

Dracomon looked worried when he looked over to his partner. He had this ominous feeling like he was fighting for his life and there was nothing he could do to help.

With the Cardfight…

“I’m not done!”, Kai declared.

“You are. I’ve known how this fight was going to go since the beginning. My Psyqualia has been active after all. That’s why when I noticed that this fight wasn’t straying from my image I got bored.”, Void Aichi admitted.

“What?!”, Kai questioned.

“This is why I didn’t use my Psyqualia against you then…Kai. You weren’t worth it even while reversed. None of the reverse fighters were.”, Void Aichi explained.

“That’s not why…”, a voice that sounded like the normal Aichi echoed in his mind. It was very quiet and distant.

“As I told you before…I SHALL sever those bonds. The ones between me, you, and everyone else. It will all be reduced to nothingness. Just as you have…I crossbreak ride!”, Void Aichi continued.

Kai’s eyes widened in shock.

“That’s not Gancelot Zenith…”, Kai commented.

“No, it’s not. You know what it is, Kai. Descend, wayward knight stained with betrayal! With your blade you shall strike down your former Vanguard along with your former allies! Alter Liberator of Madness, Gancelot Яeverse!”, Void Aichi chanted.

Gancelot grabbed his head as he was engulfed in the darkness. A dark ooze appeared under him swallowing him whole. There was suddenly an explosion of power that sent Kai off his feet and shook the space around them. There was wind surging and converging on a single point.

Out from it emerged a shadow with glowing red eyes. He had black rings around his arms and legs. The horse was nowhere in sight. Instead the figure was on a demonic winged unicorn clad in white armored and black rings clearly, a Star Vader. It’s horn was a jagged blade. When the darkness cleared Gancelot’s armor was revealed to be pitch black like the Shadow Paladins. His glowing blue line on his armor and clothing turned red. Over his armor was a tattered black cloak. The most noticeable change was that his helmet now covered his whole head. The helmet now resembled a demon.

Kai’s eyes were wide as he drank in the sight of a Gold Paladin reverse unit. It felt…wrong.

“This isn’t right…an evil card like this doesn’t suit you, Aichi.”, Kai commented.

“You say that as if I care for your opinion.”, Void Aichi replied dismissively as he replaced his decimated front row.

Aichi had only two cards left in his hand.

That was some hope.

He just needed a heal trigger.

“It won’t come against Gancelot and it won’t matter regardless. Now…I attack!”, Void Aichi declared.

Kai took the hit knowing it was best to get a heal trigger sooner than later. He needed a heal trigger to survive this barrage.

He sweated as he slowly revealed his damage. It was a heal trigger which meant he had some hope to survive this turn.

From there Kai guarded with everything he had. Gancelot struck him harshly and his whole body ringed with pain but he was fine.

“Counterblast.”, Void Aichi said as he flipped over two damage.

All of his other Gold Paladins had suddenly become locked by their own ally. Truly a knight stained with betrayal…

“It’s good that you guarded my attack. Otherwise I couldn’t show you this. Be яeborn, Gancelot…from the depths of hell! Superior ride!”, Void Aichi declared as Kai was agast.

He superior rode another Gancelot яeverse.

“My Vanguard gains +5000 power and for every Gancelot in my soul my Vanguard gains a critical!”, Void Aichi explained.

“That’s…!”, Kai gasped.

After Aichi’s soul shenanigans he had two extra Gancelot’s in soul along with his other two. To his horror Gancelot restood ready to attack him again.

“Drive check! No trigger! Second check…”, Void Aichi said as Kai was sweating bullets.

The reborn Gancelot was already more than enough even with his heal trigger. He had no more cards left to guard with. He only had three heal triggers left. It was already impossible for him to survive this attack.

But even then…

Void Aichi wordlessly revealed a critical trigger.

That made five crits.

Gancelot shot towards him at rapid speeds. He pierced through the End’s chest with just the air pressure of his thrust. Kai clutched his chest as he separated from the End who faded into nothing. His limbs felt heavy as his body was soaring in pain.

No amount of heal triggers could save him as he received his final damage. Void Aichi stood above him with that unempathic and cold look that creeped onto Aichi’s face in their last meeting. Kai struggled to make his body move through the soaring pain.

“Aichi has been through worse…He’s been through worse…”, Kai thought as he tried to reach his feet.

Void Aichi knocked him back down with a kick, making his pain worse. His boot was planted onto Kai’s chest. His clothes he had been wearing had changed as the Link Joker aura waved across him. It had been replaced with a black tailcoat with the same colors of the reverse: black, red, and white. It was as if the Void intended to lay its claim over Aichi by making him dawn its colors.His shoes were now boots and under his jacket was a white dress shirt.

It seemed like clothes FAR fancier than anything he could imagine the bluenette wearing in reality. Void Aichi looked over his new attire.

“I suppose it’s more fitting for what’s coming. I wonder…”, Void Aichi commented.

Kai’s eyes widened in shock when the same sword he brandished against himself appeared in Void Aichi’s hands. He raised the blade over Kai as that twisted smile finally returned.

“Through attacking an image of me you surrendered yourself to the Void. I wonder if striking an image of you would have the same effect on me. Removing any lingering resistance against the Void…”, Void Aichi continued as he met his gaze.

He could see a flicker of scarlet in Void Aichi’s eyes as he said so that along with the wicked smile made him believe that he was dealing with purely the Void again.

Kai caught the blade as he stabbed down. His hand bled as he struggled to keep the blade away from his chest. He found his hand slipping and smearing his blood down the blade. Despite him pushing it back with two hands, Void Aichi used one hand which was pushed down with unnatural strength.

He was toying with him again.

He’ll make it regret it.

In reality…

The others had gotten Kai laid down on a futon with a blanket over his.

“G-gah! Is that blood?!”, Kamui questioned.

“What…?”, Misaki gasped with a stunned expression.

Blood was dripping from Kai’s hands in real life. They had the cuts from grasping the blade.

“Kai!”, Miwa called out as he ran over to him.

Miwa ripped off his sleeve without hesitation to wrap it around Kai’s wounds.

“Do you guys have any alcohol for disinfectant?!”, Miwa questioned in panic.

“I’ll get it!”, Shin replied, practically sprinting to get a hold of some.

“We need to apply pressure to his wound.”, Misaki said as she held out a hand.

Shin nearly slipped as he handed her the bottle. She poured it over Kai’s cuts and Miwa quickly wrapped the ripped sleeves around the cuts tightly. The others looked anxious as they watched.

“Come on, Kai! Wake up!”, Miwa called out.

Dracomon stayed glued to his side and tried licking him awake.

“Wake up, Kai!”, Dracomon called out.

In the image…

“A-Aichi…! You can’t…let the Void win!”, Kai barely got out as his breaths were heavy.

“With this my heart will return to being empty just as it was before. So…when you think about it me and the Void are a perfect match. This isn't corruption. This is simply returning things to their natural order.”, Void Aichi replied.

Kai summoned all of his strength to grip the blade tightly. His hands were shaking as the blade neared his chest.

It was getting so close.

“K-Kai!”, he heard the concerned voice of Dracomon through the illusion.

“Dracomon…”, Kai thought.

A static filled image filled Kai’s mind.

“Kai…do you think we’ll meet again outside the Digital World?”, a voice came from a young boy whose face was obscured.

It sounded like Aichi.

“We definitely will. With Dracomon and Kotemon too.”, he heard himself say and then he smiled at the boy.

Kai gritted his teeth as he felt the fire inside him stirring up again. He didn’t understand what that image was but it made his resolve grow. Within his pocket a tiny device glowed. It was that of the V-pet which morphed into the Digivice and was emblazoned with a red symbol. The brunette pushed back past the pain.

He DEFINITELY won’t let the Void win.

Not like this!

Void Aichi’s smile dropped looking unamused at the interference of the Digivice.

Kai unconsciously reached for his pocket as he tried to tilt the sword away from his heart. The Void had suddenly decided to stop taunting the brunette and thrust the sword downwards.

However Kai was not greeted with more pain. He had stopped mid thrust and the hand holding the sword was now shaking.

“Aichi…”, Kai said.

The bluenette’s eyes were shadowed as sweat rolled across his face.

“W-what…? I won’t…”, Aichi muttered as his eyes were revealed to have light in them for a moment.

Kai wasted no time and aimed his Digivice at Aichi as he seemed to drift in and out being under the Void’s influence. A light erupted from Digivice hitting him. The bluenette hissed in pain as he dropped the sword. The reverse suddenly completely returned as Kai was knocked out of the image.

In reality…

Aichi shot up from his bed breathing heavily as his skin was caked with sweat. Dynasmon sat by his bedside silently guarding him like a century. He seemed to be back in his house. The royal knight must have brought him there after he passed out.

Why was he so tired…?

The bluenette wiped away the sweat from his brow.

“Was that a dream…?”, Aichi thought.

When he woke up his memory of it seemed to be rather foggy and lacking details. He felt like he was there kinda…or was he in the background? Was he fighting? Was he a spectator? His mind was spinning again as he felt very confused.

Did he try to stab Kai?!

He thinks remembers something vaguely involving a sword.

He couldn’t recall…

Dynasmon was close to his side wiping away the sweat with a towel.

“Thank you, Dynasmon.”, Aichi said.

“I believe you had some sort of nightmare. You seemed very distressed.”, Dynasmon replied.

“I did. It was scary from what remember…I hardly can though. You shouldn’t worry about it.”, Aichi admitted.

He felt himself checking his deck just in case…A few Link Joker cards had materialized out of nowhere but there was no Gancelot яeverse.

“So, that was just a dream…more like a nightmare.”, Aichi thought as he laid back.

“That lowly virus is scheming isn’t it?”, Dynasmon questioned.

“Yeah…I don’t know what it is but…I really can’t be around my friends. I think it wants to hurt them…”, Aichi replied.

“What shall our next move be?”, Dynasmon questioned as Aichi pulled up the covers.

“We’ll try to find…Gatomon, Barbamon, or…Daemon…I’m just…”, Aichi murmured before he passed out again.

Dynasmon grumbled as he put a new towel over Aichi’s head.

“That damn virus…First it’s Beezlemon now that damn thing is stalling us.”, Dynasmon grumbled.

Of course he was WELL aware that it was running out Aichi’s clock intentionally and he couldn’t exactly leave Aichi alone in good conscience in this state to fight. So, their mission would be delayed until the Void was done messing with them.

With Kai…

“Kai!”, Dracomon squeaked as Kai shot up covered his sweat.

Kai needed to wipe his face as he felt that his face was covered in salvia. Miwa pushed him back down gently.

“Kai, you’re injured. Lay down.”, Miwa said.

Kai looked down at his wrapped up hands.

“What happened?!”, Misaki questioned.

The gang was huddled around the brunette. He was not a fan of crowds…

“I think I found a way to save Aichi.”, Kai replied.

Everyone looked shocked at Kai’s words. Kai looked down to his pocket. Without him saying anything Dracomon brought out Kai’s Digivice and put it in his lap. Five of them froze when they stared at the Digivice. It looked eerily familiar as they were hit by a strong sense of deja vu.

“This thing was able to affect the Void. If we have more we might be able to completely purge it from Aichi.”, Kai explained.

Yeah the concept with all the Champions dying makes more sense if it was apart of the Rebellion AU. Can make it more devastating for Diantha if the Kalos League tells her how she died

We can also go with the other scenario if you like her being the good guy better. Ma’am dipped, left Nemona in charge (a teenager btw), and came back months later with a fucking killer team. Ready to avenge her soulmate and friends with mons she specifically trained to go for the kill

Imagine him on the verge of a meltdown too, having to find out how everyone else died, and how he's still alive, still breathing somewhere, aware of the bloodshed happening around him, but was already too broken to do anything, powerless, dead in a way that he was alive yet mourned for not his loved ones but also for himself.

And oughfhfhf villain Geeta my beloved holy shit can you imagine Geeta meeting her alt self, and she's there w RR maybe, or in her office at the league, and this is so so so fucking self indulgent on my part bc I have this lil au abt Geeta and Diantha as well, but like,,,, ough,,,,, imagine Alt Geeta smirking at Geeta tho, telling her how Diantha died, how her angel fell from grace, how her screams echoed within the chambers, how she was killed by a pack of Houndoom. Geeta couldn't fucking believe what she fucking heard man, her own hands were shaking like crazy, the want to punch and go batshit on Alt Geeta fucking flared, and Alt Geeta was there going, "what are you so mad about? If anything, we took her away from that incompetent dragon tamer she calls her husband." Then she mutters under her breath, "unfortunately, even in her final moments she still chose him."

And ofc, Geeta's there telling Alt that Diantha didn't deserve that, she didn't deserve to die, none of them deserves to die. Then Alt Geeta gives her this dark af glare as she stands from her seat, stalking towards Geeta, almost growling, "if I can't have her then no one can."

Imagine how that mustve been for Diantha tho, hearing from Drasna how her alt self was killed, how it was Geeta who killed her, and it's by a pack of Houndoom, can you imagine how hurt Dia must've been w that tho, how much it'll fuck her up, bc she knows its not her Geeta who did it, it's the one in this universe, but man she knows she just fucking knows she entrusted the same three people about that trauma of hers, about her past: Drasna, Geeta, and Lance. Four Great Schools of Magix

It's been a long time since I've last posted. Let's talk about the Four Great Schools of Magix, shall we?

Magix: A History

Back in the time when Magix City was founded as the centre of the Magix Dimension, magic users and warriors alike flocked to the new centre to establish a place for themselves. In that time, many years ago, schools of magic or warcraft were not commonplace. Rather, magic users learnt their skills from masters that took young children on as apprentices, whilst warriors would have to learn their craft from local guards or soldiers.

Three siblings had initially come to Magix City to start a new life for themselves. The eldest was a warrior, Stephan Vandestalk, the Dragon Tamer. The middle child was a fairy, Eledyssia Vandestalk, Fairy of Protection. The youngest was a witch, Celestina Vandestalk, Witch of Archives.

Celestina, as befitting her role, was always obsessed with the thought of recording down information and knew that despite her best attempts, she could never manage to record down all the knowledge of the past or of the future. She was the one who first gathered many different dark magic users to join her cause, creating a research unit to dig into the mysteries of magic.

Stephan established a guard platoon to ensure the safety of Magix City, and over time as the city's population grew, so too did the number of young men and women joining the platoon. To ensure that these new guards were able to keep the city safe, Stephan separated them into teams, each team working with a different aspect of the guard platoon. These teams eventually came to be known as the Specialists.

Finally, Eledyssia took to her role as the Fairy of Protection and became the first Guardian Fairy of Magix. Many young fairies and paladins flocked to her, wanting to be like her and keep Magix safe with their magic, which most guards did not use. It was then that Eledyssia had the idea to create a school with her senior light magic users so that they could all teach these bright-eyed students equally and in batches at a time, rather than taking only a select handful on as apprentices.

This was the event that catalysed the creation of the Three Schools of Magix. The Vandestalk siblings decided that they would take their respective groups and construct schools around a lake on the city outskirts, one that was named in honour of their home realm, the Fortress of Light — Lake Roccaluce.

Eledyssia constructed her school closest to the city as the centrepoint of all her siblings and the city's range, for her Enchantix powers were strongest when she was surrounded by people to protect. She called her school Alfea College for Guardian Fairies, after the Vandestalk siblings' mother, dedicated to raising Guardian Fairies that would protect not just Magix, but any planet whose fairies made the journey to Magix in search of a teacher.

Stefan constructed his school between his sisters', placing it at first on a tall cliff, where Magix's native dragons preferred to roost and nest. He made his Specialists renowned warriors, and eventually made them a force that others would call upon for help even outside of Magix City. He called his school Red Fountain School for Specialists, to honour the guard platoon he had established, and after the volcano that he had tamed his first dragon at in his home realm of Roccaluce.

Celestina constructed her school furthest away, nestled in the heart of the Gloomy Wood Forest. She made her school from the living wood of elder trees and made it reach for the skies, giving it a living heart and soul nestled amidst the clouds. She called her school Cloud Tower Institute for Young Witches, dedicated to the research of dark magic, of which teaching could only guide a young practitioner along their journey, and for the tall spires that nestled among the dark storm clouds over the Dark Forest.

Such is the origin of the Three Great Schools of Magix.

Schools of Magic: Magix and Beyond

In the intervening years, more planets and realms began to adopt the school system that was set up by the Vandestalk siblings. Other schools have since risen to incredible prominence in Magix and other major realms. Such schools include the following:

Linphea College of Magic for Fairies and Paladins

Beta Academy for Magical Creatures

Malacoy Paladin Academy

The Golden Auditorium

However, none have reached such fame as Zaltora Academy of Sorcery, alma mater of King Consort Nabu Andros-Kasper. Unlike its sister branches of magic in dark and light, neutral magic and sorcery had remained a mostly unknown concept until several centuries prior. In response, Zaltora Academy had been established by the now-renowned Sorcerer Antonio Alabaster of the realm of Andros, meant to cater to sorcerers and sorceresses that did not belong in conventional schools of magic.

After King Consort Nabu used his mastery of sorcery to close the shadow abyss opened by the Wizards of the Black Circle, Zaltora began rising to prominence. Zaltora's fame reached an all-time high several years after Queen Aisha and King Consort Nabu wed. At the same time, it brought much attention to sorcerers and sorceresses in the Magix Dimension. As more and more students came to Zaltora's original institute in Andros, the original school building could no longer afford to teach so many students. The headmaster of the time, Sorcerer Nicolaus Amidelian of Attica, was offered the chance to move Zaltora to Magix and join the Three Great Schools around the bank of Lake Roccaluce. Headmaster Nicolaus agreed, moving the main school to Magix with an expanded building, while the original building remained a branch in Andros, which has historically produced the most sorcerers and sorceresses in all of Magix.

After Zaltora Academy's main building was moved to the shore of the Lake Roccaluce, it became known as one of the schools on par with the Three Great Schools itself, and the term was thereafter changed to acknowledge Zaltora's presence, becoming the Four Great Schools instead.

Why is it always the same thing with Lance’s units?!? Hyper Beam and recoil on the Trainer Move… No one wants this, DeNA! Especially not over and over and over and over and over!

Wrong. I want this. I’d be mad if he didn’t do this. Lance is good for one thing only, and it is recoil into Hyper Beam. This is but one reason Clair is the superior dragon tamer.

more of my fe: engage sacrificial challenge run

first off just overall thoughts: this run’s been... fine. I mean, it’s still enjoyable Fire Emblem gaming, and it’s pushing me to use different units than on my first run, and using smaller squads has made for some interesting challenges in some cases. but not necessarily the most exciting challenge on its own. still gonna finish it out though

second, our current roster at the start of this day is: Anna (warrior), Lapis (swordmaster), Jade (general), Ivy (lindwurm), Zelkov (thief), Kagetsu (swordmaster), and of course Alear (as divine dragon)

Chapter 12: First thing we do this chapter is get three new recruits: Fogado (cavalry), Pandreo (high priest), and Bunet (great knight). And our sacrifice this chapter will be... Zelkov. Losing our second thief to RNG, fair enough. That’s the nature of randomness

Zelkov’s high avoid meant it took him a long time to die, but we did complete it.

Chapter 13: We actually have too many units to bring everyone onto the map this time, shockingly enough. Number of units you can bring caps at 8, and we have 9 altogether. Regardless, we know already that at the start of this map I get three new recruits: Timerra (soldier), Merrin (wolf rider), and Panette (berserker), so we can select a random sacrifice out of the full list anyway. Random sacrifice this time is... Bunet, the great knight and great chef.

As his final act, Bunet put up a good defense holding off some enemies on the backline while the rest of the party pushed toward the boss

Chapter 14: Sacrifice to RNGesus this time around is gonna be... Fogado. Prince of Solm dies in the capital. Shame.

Aaand we also lost Panette. Crit, nothing to be done about it unfortunately. Well, I could’ve placed her in a position where only the first of the two enemies that attacked her would’ve reached her I guess. But couldn’t have expected the crit to come, at least.

And once the chapter was done, we got Hortensia (wing tamer).

Chapter 15: Ooo this is the chapter we get our dancer, nice! But not at the start of the chapter. Our sacrifice this chapter is... Ivy. Oof, Ivy’s a really good unit in this game, at least if my first playthrough is anything to go by. And also how she’s been for us so far this playthrough too. That’s harsh.

Really, generally feeling like this challenge is going to be noticably bad once we hit the last couple of chapters and only have like 3 units left. ‘Til then this is mostly a regular run. Maybe should’ve done Hard difficulty instead of Normal, but I figured the challenge would make it interesting enough on its own, but... meh. 

Also, damn, I didn’t use Hortensia in my first run but I’m realizing she’s a really really good unit, especially as a staff user/support unit. And there’s lots of really good staves in this game.

Chapter 16: Start out this chapter getting Rosado (best character in the game, wyvern knight) and Goldmary (hero) added to the roster. So with that we’re up to a respectable 11 units in our army, plus Alear. Far too many people. Let’s sacrifice someone. Timerra, rest in peace. Clearly none nobles can survive this war.

damn, started out the chapter almost losing Anna on the first turn D: She’s good, though

Shoot, we did however lose Jade. Pandreo was about to die to the boss, and she stepped in and protected him. She will be remembered fondly <3

I didn’t use a High Priest in my first run, but their class skill of being able to heal themselves with staves is really neat! Far more cost-efficient than just using vulneraries I guess. Not sure what else value it has though I suppose.

Chapter 17: Sacrifice this chapter is... Anna?! Noooo she’s been so good to us this run, what a shame

Aaand, unfortunately we lost best character in the game Rosado. Was trying to have everyone work together to take down one of this map’s bosses, but we didn’t quite take her down, and on her turn she finished off Rosado. RIP, you will be missed

Aand, my switch’s battery is almost dead so I gotta put this run aside mid-chapter while I go put the switch on the charger for awhile. Getting close to the end of the work day anyway, so no big deal

Engage Drip Marketing: Ivy and Elusian

Oh, Ivy. I remember half a year ago, when we first saw you in the leaks, and we thought your name was Abby. Back then, all we really knew was that you were a wyvern riding mage, and your zoomed in, blurry face portrait made me think you had a Jotaro style hat. Ah, memories.

Without further adieu, here's Ivy’s official twitter posts… Starting with Elusia…

Elusia is a country in northeast Elyos, a religious nation ruled by the Sage King Hyacinth, seeker of knowledge and wisdom. They largely worship the Fell Dragon, and strange movements have been seen there in recent years.

So, it seems like that dark mage guy we kept seeing is the king after all. Makes sense. Don’t exactly see the family resemblance with his daughters, though. Him being a seeker of knowledge is interesting. Perhaps this led him to discovering corrupting forbidden knowledge or something like that. As for why the nation worships the fell dragon… My current theory is that it’ll have something to do with military pressure from Brodia somehow.

Also, I do dig the gothic vibes of this country.

Now, for Ivy’s artwork tweet…

Ivy is the first princess of the Kingdom of Elusia, and Hortensia's elder sister. She has a mysterious air about her, and she's a serious and stoic person.

The Kingdom of Elusia worships the Fell Dragon. It seems Ivy is seeking the Rings of Emblems as the princess.

Then finally, her cutscene tweet… (It’s just the cutscene we saw in that trailer a couple weeks ago)

Brodia and Elusia have been at odds for many years. Ivy attacked Brodia to obtain the Rings of Emblems.

And here we finally have our big waifu bait character. Seeing how hard Edelgard left the target audience of straight dudes, it makes sense they’d go back to Camilla. In all seriousness, though, even if Ivy’s appearance has some pretty obvious influences, her personality is rather different. Give’s me more Sonya vides than anything else, really. I wonder if she’ll also have daddy issues.

All in all, Ivy’s a rather curious character. The cutscene paints a rather menacing picture of her, yet it’s clear she’s going to switch sides and become a good guy. Still, how the story will go about this change is still up in the air. I assume a lot of her motivations are based around her country and it’s people, so perhaps serving the fell dragon helps them in some way. My guess is she eventually grows tired of the Four Hounds and her father being increasingly evil, and concludes they’ll do more harm to her country than good.

Now for the crit clip, which has a lot going on… 

Ivy's starting class is Wing Tamer. Knights who bond with beasts and have them do their bidding. Riding a dragon, they can use magic and staves.

So, first things first. The Elusian royals both have the Wing Tamer/ Flying class. In fact, they both wield tomes and staves, meaning the only true difference is their stats and mounts. I’m curious what kind of weapons they’ll get to use when they promote, if any. And considering we haven’t seen falcon knights at all, perhaps Hortensia will get a griffon upon promotion.

Considering Ivy is level 1 on this map, I think this will be where we recruit her. We’ve also already seen this map in the Emblem Ring trailer, the one where Chloe showed off some of Corrin’s abilities. And considering Chloe was promoted level three, I’d say this is around one half to two thirds of the way through the game. The enemies even look promoted too. Seems like at some point, Elusia attacks Firene. And considering the official website shows we’ll have Hortensia in the Solm chapter at some point, I wonder if this attack will be the breaking point for Ivy, or just the first chance she gets to join us.

Speaking of the map itself, we’ve got burning tiles making a return, along with rubble that seems to function as slowing terrain like forests and mountains. We’ve also got giant monster units, this chameleon looking creature with a pure brief attack. Hopefully this further confirms manakete units, and perhaps the weapon is purple to show it’s unaffected by fists. That’d actually be pretty funny, since grapplers were kind of my go to unit in Three Houses when it came to taking out giant monsters. Just ripped those hp sponges to shreds. I’m curious if they are dragons in lore. Considering the cobra look of Sombron, perhaps dark dragons just have a reptile based look in this game. Maybe we’ll see turtle and crocodile monsters too.

But that’s not all. In the corner, we can actually see Zephia charging up some kind of aoe attack, likely something akin to Upheaval in echoes. It even tells us it’ll deal 19 damage. Nice. Yet there's still more. During a brief moment, we can see that Zephia actually has a corrupted Sigurd emblem equipped. 

So, I have a story theory. Well, a continuation of my current ones. Basically, you know how Ivy says she’ll take the rings in that cutscene… Yeah, I think that’s gonna be more than just a threat. Then at some point our heroes are captured, Sombron turns Marth into evil Marth. Our heroes escape to Solm, and basically go about reclaiming their lost rings and the like. This likely ends with Marth reclaimed, coinciding with Alears character arc. I also think this won’t be our last fight with Zephia. Considering her being descended from the dark dragon clan, and her ears and horns, I think her final fight will be against her as a manakete.

All in all, I’m curious that we only got Ivy today. Perhaps since there isn’t another trailer to show this week, news will be slowing down again. Hopefully we’ll get her later in the week. And considering how many weeks are left until the game comes out, maybe another emblem showcase this week as well. Also, curious to see who Ivy's retainers will be like.

Top three gym leaders of each generation?

Hi there @ladyseychelles! Favorite gym leaders...let's see here Kanto 1. Blue: not much surprise here, Blue's going to end up in my favorites for just about anything he's applicable of. There's something really cool about having a gym leader with no defined type. Not to mention just seeing the demeanor change from Gen 1 to Gen 2 was just so amazing

2. Brock: admittedly this is more from the anime, but I just really loved the big brother mentor vibes he gave to Ash, and then May, Max, and Dawn later on.

3. Blaine: Again this is mainly because of the anime, but his battle with Ash was easily the best of the original series Johto 1. Jasmine: If there was a gym leader I would love to emulate, it'd be Jasmine. I really love the "silk hiding steel" personality of hers

2. Morty: So um...I'm a Morty simp. He was one of my first anime crushes like ever. Also, he trains ghost types which is one of my favorite types so I have to stan.

3. Clair: She's a badass dragon tamer with a Kingdra. That's all I have to say.

Hoenn: 1. Norman: So the gen 3 games were the first mainline Pokemon games that I ever got a chance to play and Norman was absolutely so hard for me to overcome. It took me so many tries (because I was a noob who didn't know what she was doing). Also, there's just something really cool about having to defeat your own parent for a gym badge. And he's a top tier dad in the anime (we don't talk about Pokespe!Norman...fuck Pokespe!Norman)

2. Tate and Liza: This is pretty much mainly because I really enjoy double battles a lot and getting to have double battles against two gym leaders was just super cool

3. Flannery: I adore her so much. She's just a new gym leader trying her best! That and as a kid, I just adored her outfit (I still do honestly) and wanted to dress up as her

Sinnoh 1. Roark: He's an adorable rock nerd. I like rock nerds, I like guys that look good in glasses. Plus seeing baby Roark as a kid in the anime melted my heart but also his story with feeling like he couldn't get his dad's respect

2. Maylene: This is from the anime but I absolutely adored her arc about learning to regain self-confidence especially after what Paul said to her. Plus her bonding with Dawn over their shared issues was really sweet

3. Volkner: I really adore his relationship with Flint (especially in the anime) but also I can relate to him being burnt out and bored of life. And also he has a Luxray. I have to stan anyone with a Luxray. Unova 1. Lenora: One of the toughest battles of Unova but also I just adored her being a badass nerd who runs a museum and is happily married. Minus the whole mammy stereotype controversy with her original design with the apron it just really meant so much to me as a black girl into Pokemon to have someone who looks like she could be in my family. And that outside of the fortunate design she wasn't a walking stereotype. A smart bookworm who had a loving husband and was tough? I adore Lenora a lot. 2. Clay: Part of this is because he is a ground-type gym leader and there just aren't a lot of ground-type specialists in Pokemon. But also I like his gruff but still, kind personality and the fact that the English localization gives him somewhat of a southern accent makes me happy since I'm from the Southeastern United States 3. Elesa: I really appreciated not only her toughness in battle but also how she tried to help Bianca out when her dad tried to force her to come home. That and also I really loved both of her gym designs. Kalos 1. Grant: he was honestly the toughest fight for me in XY. HIs gym is also one of the most creative I've seen in the franchise

2. Clemont: This was mainly due to the anime but I just really adored this little nerd so much

3. Ramos: He's a funny cute old man and I really liked his gym Alola (I know there are no gym leaders but I'll do the trial captains) 1. Kiawe: I thought his little challenge with the dancing Alolan Marowak was super cute. But also in the games, I just really felt for him trying to make his dream of dancing come true and getting fired from the supermarket...ouch. And then his relationship with his baby sister in the anime is just the cutest

2. Mallow: I enjoyed her difficult Totem Lurantis trial but her anime depiction was what really sold me on her. Between her mom's death and her dream to open up a restaurant she just really endeared herself to me

3. Mina: I just really enjoyed her "chill go with the flow, low key kind of stoned" vibe. Galar (probably the hardest one to choose since I genuinely love all of the gym leaders there) 1. Kabu: I really loved his catching gym challenge, the fact that the inner part of his gym has a whole track (I'm a former track andfield athlete). Plus he's from Hoenn and I love the Hoenn region. Also I really just enjoyed hearing his of stories him just always trying new things and that even though he has yet to become champion, he's still really respected and seen as the first major roadblock in the league

2. Raihan: Again I'm a sucker for double battles, so getting a chance to do those for the entire gym was cool. Plus I just enjoy his character of being fierce on the pitch but gentlemanly history nerd outside of it all. Plus he's a dragon tamer and I'm just a sucker for dragon tamers

3. Opal: Oh my I adore granny Opal. I said this on Twitter but she's in my opinion of the best well written female characters in the series. She's a strong gym leader to have held the position for 70 years, she's funny and extremely insightful and I enjoyed the quiz format she had for her gym since there were consequences to getting questions wrong.

I'm surprised you didn't go down the route of the scrybes being the dragon tamers with each specialising in a different species/technique and Luke takes the role of uniting these four different groups despite their differences.
