I can't tell if my dragon worldbuilding has gone too far when I start reading scientific papers on bat wig morphology and comparing them to bird morphology.

My favorite ongoing background thing with Corvus is the fact he prefers to travel by horse but yet is constantly put in a postion where everyone around him is like “but the giant cats/dragons are much faster!”

And he just has to begrudgingly accept he may never have the luxury of riding a normal horse again

Colored headshot concepts for the MC of that original dragon universe I talked about awhile back (the one with Tiamat), now with the placeholder name Dragons of the Deep.

So far I have it that the MC’s adoptive name is Fontaine Anouilh and her birth name is Tabni Lāsimu. She eventually winds up going by Fontaine Lāsimu.

Top left corner is based on one of those singing bass toys that I thought looked cool, not a real fish. Top right is based on mahi-mahi/dolphinfish. Bottom left is based on yellow-winged flying fish. Bottom right is based on sailfish. Right now I’m leaning sailfish or mahi.

Fontaine’s design overall (I do have a fullbody sketch done even if it’s a little out of date) is based on flying fish and marlin in terms of her wing shape, fins, lil nose, etc, with the classic four-legged dragon body plan.

Possible delay for the new chapter.

So…my internship is kicking my ass. HARD! As such I didn't have the time to work on the new chapter. Or write at all. I found a WONDERFUL person to beta for me and she did wonders, but I don't know if I manage to implement her suggestions until tomorrow.

So yeah…the chapter might be delayed until friday...

Today's FebFicFight is about someone flying as a dragon for the first time, and I am very pleased with that. I grew up among these hills, imagining flying off into them during countless long car rides. What is writing for, if not self-indulgent wish fulfillment?

oh god okay extremely hard question with neil bcus i have like 70 million aus just putting him into my favorite different medias...

okay. i'm gonna be evil and pick alice in borderland (sorry neil ur never escaping the torture chamber of your life) because

1) he'd survive the fuck out of those death games it's practically made for him.

2) aib is so interesting because it really forces people to grow and confront themselves (neil historically does not do this) and i'd want to see how neil's journey with survival / himself evolves from start to finish.

3) he's an asshole and w/o his father it's somehow much lower stakes for him...so in a way this would be like enrichment. if you think about it.
