thoughts on drag kings? i try to entirely avoid drag queen content (interacting with gay / bi creators it inevitably comes up) but i don’t mind drag kings all that much so i’m interested on your take

the sad thing about drag is that it has generally become very gender-y but i do quite like drag kings overall. i think theyre slept on & overlooked as a group and it says a lot that being a drag king is in no way as profitable or upheld as being a drag queen is. its just another way women are devalued and overlooked when doing the equivalent of what men are doing. i also liked drag queens a lot but them being men meant that their misogyny would sometimes come out and thats barely criticised by anyone into that scene

I was looking at some of the screenshots on your latest Nettles post 🤪 and how do people think that Daemon not being impressed by Alys Rivers is an argument against D/N? Why would Daemon be impressed with Alys, a bastard nobody ?

They think that since Alys is a white non-Valyrian lowborn bastard and Daemon didn’t want her then he definitely wouldn’t want Nettles cause she’s a Black non-Valyrian lowborn bastard.

I wish I was joking, but this is actually how their minds work. A good 75% of their arguments are based on them wanting Black women, including fictional Black women, to be inferior.

Don’t get me wrong, Alys is lovely in her own right, but she’s not better than Nettles. Daemon not being into her has no bearing here.

And while yes you can draw parallels between the two women, even the in-text chroniclers don’t make any mention of how it was strange that Daemon didn’t want Alys yet he liked Netty.

It makes way more sense Daemon would be into Nettles who is young and a dragonrider than it does Alys who is older and has no connection to Valyria whatsoever, so this is on them and their issues.

HUH good question. first of all i think he'd be a little discombobulated by the very experience of watching a tv show but personally i choose to believe he'd at least be happy he was made into one of the main characters?? and that so many cool and sexy insane people are obsessed with him now <3

having said that. as much as i love show!fitzjames they did nerf him down A LOT. they robbed him of the joyous whimsy that was such a characteristic trait of the real jokester supreme fitzjames (show!fitzjames also has little to no relationship with his irl lieutenant buddies which. sad.)

we also know now that. most probably. he was actually fully english so i can only imagine he'd be Not Pleased about the cairn scene to say it lightly lmao imagine you and your adoptive family making significant efforts throughout your whole life to disguise the fact of your illegitimate birth and then 150 years later some people make a high rating show where they babygirlify you not only spill your secret to the millions of people watching (or secrets, plural, and make you call yourself a fake as a cherry on top lol) but they also get it wrong and make it Even Worse (from a victorian englishman's perspective) like stop guys he's already dead lmfao

The way people were reacting to the leaks made me so nervous for no reason. Like for a couple days all I heard was whispers that “Gege made Gojo racist” and I assumed the worst. I was worried that the issues that I’ve had with Gege’s writing in the past had come to a head and Gojo was gonna double down on some ignorant bullshit.

Instead Gege discussed and called out his past mistakes and issues I’ve had with his writing since jjk 0. He looked at the way he’s written black men and black-coded characters up until this point and admitted that it was racist. Then he takes the character that everyone he works with says is “the most like him” and has him directly be called racist and apologize.

Everyone got me all worried for no reason, because overall I think this chapter was handled really well. It didn’t come out of nowhere. It’s not a character assassination. It’s Gege owning up to his mistakes. And I hope he continues to improve.

They’re contacting all the venues and people he works with telling them not to work with him because he’s a racist for calling her out.
