For those who don't know me, I will tell you my story

This is me Farah, I am 18 years old and I live in the Gaza Strip

Before the war, I lived in our house in the northern Gaza Strip and studied to get a good grade and study medicine abroad

But the war came, education stopped, and we had to evacuate our house after the occupation bombed our neighborhood with fire belts on November 13, 2023.

We were displaced on the Salah al-Din Road through the safe corridor. We saw nightmarish scenes there: corpses on the road, body parts, the body of a pregnant woman, bombed cars with body parts inside, and the soldier almost ran over my sister, but we survived. We walked for about 5 hours under the sun while I was on my period. I carry heavy bags

We lived in a tent in Rafah and our tent was burned in a nearby bombing

My father was arrested during the events in Khan Yunis and they tortured him severely

So Farah (@farahmoo2) has been having trouble getting her funds transferred for the past week now. Her organizer Nassima sends her an acceptance transfer notice, which, after accepting it, is supposed to prompt a security code to be sent to Farah's phone.

The only problem is, no security code ends up being sent. This has caused a massive amount of stress for Farah and made her worried gofundme would deactivate her account. Her sister @/nesmamomen has been trying to help her out, but they are unable to identify the problem.

On top of this, Farah's family has been dealing with the upcoming winter, having to rebuild their tent after being flooded so it can better withstand the rain and cold. Her internet access is now so bad that she has also been unable to use tumblr for a while now, as that needs consistently good bars in order to load.

you all must already know @nesmamomen : since March of last year, she's been tirelessly promoting her campaign to evacuate her family, which includes 5 children under 16 years old, as well as her recently orphaned niece Lolo.

Nesma has been constantly posting about the suffering endured by her family, the martyrdom of all her relatives in Northern Gaza, the sickness of her youngest sister Taleen, only taking a break when she was too weak from sickness herself. through her consistent effort, she has been able to raise over a $100,000 USD for her family, and as of today, the campaign has finally broken $120,000 USD after stagnating in the last digits of 110's for a while 🎉

however, Nesma and her family's suffering is far from over: the Rafah crossing has not yet opened, and the winter months are coming, which makes them worry for their only shelter and how well the tents will withstand the rain. prices for any basic goods are sky-high, and they need to feed themselves and protect themselves from the elements as much as possible as they wait for their chance to evacuate.

Countdown for Farah's fundraiser!

Farah (@farahmoo2) recently posted a goal of making it to 10K last week.

We now have less than 4 days to meet the 10K mark, and we're still only at €5,333. The last donation was made 5 hours ago.

So let me give you a little run-down on Farah for those who do not know a lot about her:

Farah is an 18 year-old girl who is the little sister of Nesma (@nesmamomen), who has been vetted by @/el-shab-hussein and shared here by @/nabulsi. While Farah was supposed to have graduated high school this year and gone on to university, her studies were interrupted by occupier bombardment in October 2023. When the biggest problems in Farah's life should be making it to her 8AM class or wondering why her experimental density measurement in chem lab is so different to the theoretical one, she is instead living in constant fear, at risk of being killed everyday when she makes the long trip outside her neighbourhood just to get internet to campaign online. She suffers from a lack of resources such as food, running water, medicine, sanitary supplies, and decent shelter. She suffers alongside her family, having to watch her father be captured and tortured, and her brother being severely injured during bombardment.

I have been chatting with Farah for a few days now and she is a lovely person. While she was in school, she enjoyed biology and physics. She wants to go to university to study medicine, but she hasn't decided whether to go into general or dentistry yet. Her mother wants her to go to Egypt to study, but she wants to go to Europe. She has also been disappointed at the recent stagnation of her fundraiser. She is, and I repeat, 18, and should not have to be worrying about this or putting herself in danger just to get funding! Farah is also uncomfortable because the place she travels so far to get wifi is also full of men. These conditions are not ideal. She deserves to be in school!

i'm very familiar with the experience of scrolling through tumblr and encountering a call to action at a time when i cannot comfortably make a donation or sit down to fetch a verification source, and not trusting myself to remember to come back to the campaign later. doing something as simple as joining a support group chat can help you stay engaged with this family's cause and keep them in your thoughts, whether it's briefly wishing them safety when you're busy or on the move and cannot do much else, or being reminded to take some time out of your evening to make a post in their support.
