What modern movie would you love to zip back in time to be "rebooted" in Old School style?

Oh incredible ask. I'm not super knowledgeable on modern movies but let's have fun pretending that via time machine, we are now getting:

Avengers: Endgame (1963)

After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War (1962), the universe is in ruins. With the help of remaining allies, Captain America (Burt Lancaster), Iron Man (Dean Martin), Thor (William Shatner), the Incredible Hulk (Paul Newman), Black Widow (Nancy Kwan), Hawkeye (Peter Falk), Black Panther (Sidney Poitier), Captain Marvel (Natalie Wood), Spider Man (Frankie Avalon), and more assemble again in order to restore balance to the universe.

Jurassic World (1943)

A sequel to Jurassic Park (1993), a movie that hasn't yet been made, this movie sees the creation of a genetically modified hybrid dinosaur, the Indominus Rex (modeled by Willis O'Brien), which escapes containment and goes on a killing spree. Joel McCrea stars in the Chris Pratt role; Barbara Stanwyck is Bryce Dallas Howard.

Frozen (1957)

Eyvind Earle brings the same angular, medievalist touch that he would use with such great success on Sleeping Beauty to this beautifully hand drawn classic. Pearl Bailey voices Elsa, the wounded snow queen, with Dorothy Dandridge as Anna, Rock Hudson as Kristoff, and Sterling Holloway as Olaf.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (1931)

Four teenagers are sucked into a magical Kinetoscope, and the only way they can escape is to work together to finish the short film. Their magical avatars are Dr. Bravestone (Noble Johnson), Moose Finbar (Bill Robinson), Ruby Roundhouse (Anna May Wong), and Dr. Sheldon "Shelly" Oberon (Claude Rains).

Why Fosterson?

Recently @beheworthy pointed me to a post in which someone asked why the Thor movies, Thor: Love and Thunder in particular, portray Fosterson as the OTP. Someone else reposted and said they agreed, that the material of the first post enumerates why they themselves didn't ship Fosterson. I'll not respond to it directly, in the spirit of "ship and let ship" (a sentiment the second poster endorsed). But I will make my case here.

Why Thor loves Jane is best articulated in Thor: The Mighty Avenger by Roger Langridge and Chris Samnee:

The movies don't do as good a job expressing this, and that's on those writers. But it is there. They hint at it in the first film, starting at 2:33: "Thank you, Jane".

Then there's "I will return for you" (0:56).

In Thor: the Dark World, he is shown as continuing to be devoted to her, inquiring after her well-being for two years after he (reluctantly) destroyed the Bifrost. I haven't seen Thor: Love and Thunder, so I can't point to elements that are in that film.

Why Jane loves Thor is also shown in that rooftop scene, at 0:59: "Because you're right". He believes in her, when no one else will. She is a woman in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). I also work in STEM, and I can tell you that having someone believe in you and your work is not a very common thing. In Thor, we saw earlier in the film how professionally isolated she is, even from her mentor Dr. Selvig. Having someone back her 100% is huge.

There is a relationship book by psychologist Dr. Sue Johnson called Hold Me Tight. The thesis is that couples need secure bonds in one another. Members have ways of calling out for their partners for their support. Feeling that their calls will be answered is very important for that bond. That's what Thor and Jane have.

Has Donald Trump Learned Anything from the Last Eight Years?

I think so. He entered the White House in January 2017 very naive and allowed himself to be manipulated by old Washington hands. And he paid an enormous price for that. Two impeachments and a tsunami of civil and criminal cases were thrown at him. Regardless of your feelings about Trump, there are few human beings who could withstand such withering, unrelenting attacks and still have a sense of humor. We saw that on display during the Al Smith dinner. While he savaged former NYC Mayor DeBlasio — a scathing takedown richly earned — he spoke conciliatory words to Governor Hochul, Mayor Eric Adams and Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer.

Trump littered his first term with a collection of neocons and self-seekers who had no loyalty to Trump. His nominations of General Mark Milley, FBI Director Chris Wray, John Bolton, General Mad Dog Mattis and CIA Director Gina Haspel were self-inflicted wounds that continue to fester to this day. He got played by Dr. Anthony Fauci.

One of the more despicable creatures, in my view, is Mike Pompeo, who reportedly is campaigning to be named Secretary of Defense. He would be a disaster for Trump and for the security of this nation. While he stumped for Trump — once it was clear that Trump was likely to win — some of us have not forgotten how sanctimoniously he threw Trump under the bus on the bogus Classified Documents case and the illegal appointment of Jack Smith as Special Prosecutor.

G.I. Joe the Movie was released on August 14, 1987. It was meant to be a theatrical release, see the death of Duke (Michael Bell), and have a topless scene with Zarana (Lisa Raggio). The production went longer than predicted so the Transformers movie was released first, which ended up having a huge impact on the Joe movie. Because Transformers the Movie underperformed in the theaters, it was decided to release the Joe movie as a direct to video and TV presentation. Because the Transformers movie recieved so much backlash from killing Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen), dialogue was added explaining Duke didn't die but went into a coma. The topless scene was story boarded but the scene was altered in the final film with a swim top. Most of the new characters introduced were the new recruits (Lt Falcon - Don Johnson, Kunoichi Jinx - Shuko Akune, Chuckles, Law - Ron Ortiz and Order, Big Lob - Brad Sanders, and Tunnel Rat - Laurie Faso), Sgt Slaughter's (Robert Remus), Renegades (Mercer - Kristoffer Tabori, Red Dog - Poncie Ponce, and Taurus - Earn Boen) and the mutants from Cobra-La (Pythona - Jennifer Darling, Golobulus - Burgess Meredith, and Nemesis Enforcer - Cullen). As Cobra Commander (Christopher Collins/Chris Latta) was facing a mutiny by Dr Mindbender(Brian Cummings), Baroness (Morgan Lofting), Destro (Arthur Burghardt), Zartan (Zack Hoffman), Tomax (Corey Burton) and Xamot (Bell), Pythona arrived and convinced Cobra to steal the BET device. The mission failed, Serpentor was captured, and Cobra Commander retreated his forces to Cobra-La. There Golobulus revealed that Cobra Commander was an escapee from Cobra-La. Also that Cobra-La had secretly manipulated Dr Mindbender into creating Serpentor (Dick Gautier). While Lt Falcon was court martialed by the Joes, Cobra Commander was put on trial in Cobra-La. Sportacus is my favourite character, but this is a clip show AND in the style of an autobiographical documentary. So will I really even like it? Beware - I don't really explain most scenes good enough because they're mostly recycled from other episodes, so I keep it short.

The episode begins with a new cold open (good start!) where Sportacus is riding to town on his sky chaser. Once Stephanie sees him she puts in her letter. Sportacus checks on what she's doing, then she sends the letter. Sportacus rides back to his airship to get the letter, and he does.

We get some narration from Sportacus, who is thanking us for our letters. Some letters that were actually sent to LazyTown Entertainment pop up on the screen, with kids reading out their questions - and there's a big last group yell - 'can I be a superhero?' Sportacus says anyone can be a hero, then he walks through his morning.

Here is a recycled cold open from 'Zap It!' that I'll only explain as my Zap It review was rushed. Sportacus gets out of bed and flips into a pair of skating shoes. He grabs a hockey stick and skates over to his bed. He throws away a cushion then arranges the blanket.

He says that's how you make a bed, then skates over to his cupboard, spinning the hockey stick once more then putting it back in it's place, literally. He declares it breakfast time.

A recycled cold open from 'Dear Diary' - he slices up a banana with a ping pong racket, falls to the ground and tries to catch all the slices in his mouth. Still hungry, he calls for an apple but there are none left. So he decides to have some random watermelon that was on the floor.

Recycled cold open from 'Dr. Rottenstein' - he throws away the watermelon, does some cartwheels, jumps in the air, and now he's handstanding on the watermelon. Then he gets off, throws it in the air and catches it doing a power jump. He twirls it on his finger and it shatters to slices as he drops it on the table, then he eats it.

Now, it's teethy cleany time the Twenty Times way! Sportacus flips onto his aerobics bar, hangs on with his legs, and grabs his toothbrush. He jumps off and starts brushin!

The rest of the LazyTowners are brushing too to 'Twenty Times Time', but that all ends when Sportacus throws the toothbrush out of his accidentally-open door. He jumps out the airship and lands on the sky-chaser, and from then on, it's a mashup of 'Twenty Times Time' & 'Get it Together'. After the whole toothbrush thingy, Sportacus wants to play a little game with the sports spinner.

His first exercise is jumping jacks, and he adds a little Sportatwist to it - in the middle he starts flailing his arms around like those inflated people you see at car shops, then he starts kicking.

Then he just starts to fricking jump. That may just be some practice for his second move and my favourite one - Power jumping! So, he does a bunch of power jumps (no Sportatwists) before going on to a harder move - soccer. A recycled cold open from Soccer Sucker. Meanwhile, the kids are doing nothing!

They're probably bored because Sportacus isn't playing with them, but Milford tells them to do something fun like play basketball, and they all have fun doing so. After he throws back the ball, he says that he's now ready for anything, then something happens. He gets a letter, and reads it.

It's a question about why he moves so much. His answer is that he loves to move, and then he performs Get it Together. Once the song ends, he flips over to his water bottle and puts some water in his cup. Recycled cold open from Miss Roberta - he hits an ice cube using a baseball bat against the walls and it lands in his glass of water and he drinks it.

Then he gets a letter from an unknown person asking him to teach him one-arm pushups. This is my favourite part of the episode. So, he demonstrates normal pushups, triceps pushups, clapping, turning, then he tries ONE ARM!

Then jumping then clapping behind his back! Sure enough, he accomplishes it! Then he does his favourite - one arm, one leg. This is super cool. He calls for paper and a pen and he draws some pictures of his favourite pushups, and of course, a message. He sends his letter using air-mail, but he forgot to sign his name. He runs out, but the door isn't activated yet, so he has to turn the knob a bit. TWICE.

Finally, once it opens, he ties his feet to a white rope, then attaches the piece of metal to it on the magnet of his airship's door. He then dives off, catches the letter, and pulls himself back up. Then he signs his name.

Then he throws it back out. Now it's time for another energy boost. Meanwhile, a recycled scene from Ziggy's Alien - Robbie tries to sleep but is awaken by the sound of a kid yelling for help. In this case it's recycled from 'New Superhero' and Ziggy is falling. Then a recycled scene from 'Sports candy festival' where Sportacus' Club Special is consumed by Sportacus. I have complained about this so many times - but that is a plain lettuce and tomato sandwich.

The crystal beeps. Sportacus says before he saves someone he tries locating the problem, which he almost never does. Liar. So, he rides into the town and saves Ziggy with a skateboard and a comically long scarf.

The crystal beeps again - this time a recycled rescue from the VERY FIRST EPISODE involving Trixie being a moron, Stingy being a moron, Stingy flying in the air, and a seesaw.

B Bracket, Day Three: No-Bark Noonan opened up the all-Khans bracket by kicking Oscar Velasco out of the tournament; Jessup & McMurphy successfully defeated a frail and sickly child; Melissa Lewis succeeded where her father had failed the day before with a victory over Cannibal Johnson; Doctor Usanagi proves that STEM is more valuable than an English degree by giving Jerry the Punk another beating.

B Bracket, Day Four: Big Beard & Little Beard trounce the Gundersons, probably because Heck was the only one with a beard; Chris Haversam throws Meyers back in the clink; Mister Holdout couldn't hold out against Sarah Weintraub; and finally, in the single most massive (624 votes) and close (tied as late midnight with 500 votes) and polarizing (just check the notes) match-up in the entire tournament so far, Calamity the ghoul pulled an upset over Cpl. Betsy*, who's probably dealing with her loss in therapy. Hopefully Dr. Usanagi doesn't bring up her own win.

*Happy Pride Month, losers! The first round of June and literally every canonically queer character (except for Red Lucy, bisexual [edit: and Sarah Weintraub, also bisexual!]) got voted out, and that's hilarious. Funniest possible thing that could have happened on here, the gay and transgender website, during the gay and transgender month, in a tournament for the gay and transgender video game. (Beatrix Russell and Old Ben might also be exceptions, but it's minor; I only can't remember if you can sleep with them as the same sex or not when they're working at the Atomic Wrangler, but even then they may just be gay4pay. Not that there's anything wrong with that!)
