I may be 2 days late to celebrate the big news but MYGAHD 3 PARTS?!?!?!?! 🥹🥹😩😩 We won!!! 🥳🥳🥳 I really thought that we will be getting one season that may have 12-24 episodes.. but with that announcement, there is hope!!

However, there’s still this scare like what if it only has 24 episodes and they just decided to part them into 3? Just like season 3, 23 episodes and they just divided them. Still, I’m not sure since according the translation— it said 3 seasons? Is that possible that in one season it has 3 seasons? Or we will get more than just 24 episodes?

But what I’m truly hoping, if it is possible, they will add more Xeno and Stanley scenes from their childhood like how they met, did Xeno know and sought him out? Or did he coincidentally see a shooting competition and was amazed at Stan’s marksmanship that he asks his aid at that time?

I am so excited!!! Like I can’t wait for further announcements, the trailers, visual arts, and opening and ending songs…😩😩😩 speaking of arts… Are you all excited to know their hair colors soon?😏😏 Is it going to be gray? Or another blond? Hahahhha

At the very least, the latest installment confirms one enemy to Senku and co who takes action against them in the episode’s final scenes. Dr. Stone season 4 episode 3 confirms new enemies awaiting the Kingdom of Science in America Brief episode recap Dr. Stone season 4 episode 3 began with the Perseus’ crew celebrating their journey finally coming to an end. They also speculated on what animals they could hunt for a nice, meat-filled meal after being starved of it while at sea. However, as they approached America, Senku realized that the cliff sides were littered with the petrified statues of American citizens. Some were left whole, while others were missing limbs or entire halves of their body. Gen tried to calm everyone down by reminding them that, while they were hopeful to find society here, they shouldn’t be shocked at what they’re now witnessing. Kohaku then noticed a bunch of statues clumped together in a jetty-like formation, which Senku theorized was due to a car accident pileup that left behind only the statues. Ryusui then revealed that they were currently sailing through where San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge once was. Dr. Stone season 4 episode 3 saw Senku, Taiju, and the others remind everyone that they’ll be the ones to bring humanity back. The Perseus then finally anchored ashore, with Senku explaining how the flora of America differed from Japan, such as with the Sequoia tree and a vulture flying by. The group then decided to split into two teams, one which would stay with the ship on the Sacramento River, and another would scout ahead with the battle team. Ukyo was worried that they were too late due to fall being almost over, but Senku assured them that they were fine thanks to some changes in time that arose over the last three millenia. Suddenly, the teams were attacked by a large swarm of giant American crocodiles. Dr. Stone season 4 episode 3 saw the combat team as desperate for fresh meat as the crocodiles were, immediately attacking the crocodiles. After killing some and scaring the rest off, the group cooked dinner with the crocodile meat they obtained and other ingredients they gathered. Those members of the Kingdom of Science not from the old world were blown away by how delicious the crocodile burgers were, as were others like Hyoga. Tsukasa then showed Sennku that one of the alligators had swallowed a piece of yellow corn, confirming that they could find what they came here for. Senku then explained to Chrome, Gen, Ukyo, and Suika that they needed the corn not for its disappointing flavor profile, but to make alcohol out of it. Senku also added that he has no idea how much corn is left, meaning they may not be able to revive as many people as they wanted to as soon as they originally did. Dr. Stone season 4 episode 3 then saw Kohaku notice several corn kernels floating in the river, leading Chrome and the others to become optimistic. However, Senku was suspicious of how convenient this all seemed, prompting him to reach out to the Perseus. After updating them on their status, he asked them to keep an eye out for corn floating downstream by them also. However, this led to the reveal that someone was in a tree nearby watching them. This person was then discovered by some wolves, prompting them to jump down and confront their new enemy. Brandishing a knife, they quickly and effortlessly killed all of the wolves present by hacking them up. Meanwhile, Senku and co continued their trek upstream as night fell. They eventually decided to camp for the night, where Senku made a light trap to capture and analyze the bugs it attracts to learn more about the area’s current state. Dr. Stone season 4 episode 3 saw Senku catch some European corn borers, which confirmed that a large supply of corn had to be nearby since they subsist on it. Kohaku and the others were then mystified by the moths, prompting Senku to ask if they’d ever seen one before. After confirming they hadn’t, Senku explained that this was due to the fact that some moths fed on cloth, which should’ve led to their population dwindling once humanity was petrified. He theorized a settlement nearby was farming loads of corn, with Tsukasa seemingly sensing something behind him in the woods as Senku said this. Tsukasa dialed in on a nearby tree branch, sensing bloodlust and seeing the eyes of the individual who’d appeared earlier. Dr. Stone season 4 episode 3 saw the entire combat unit go into high alert after, while Tsukasa’s senses told him that a gun was about to be fired. Hyoga agreed with this, realizing that they were lured into a trap. As Tsukasa called for a retreat, machine gun bullets suddenly began raining down on them. The episode ended with the Kingdom of Science retreating as their assailant was impressed with their perception, and they realized they weren’t alone in America. In summation Overall, Dr. Stone season 4 episode 3 is an exciting installment which perfectly sets up the rest of the season’s focus. 21. Tokyo Revengers 4/5

Sighhhhh this one. This one. THIS ONE!! The frustration that this one caused me! I know that all MC’s don’t need to be physically strong to be interesting but jeeze Louise this MC needed some serious physical development. I really wanted to enjoy it like everyone else but my stress levels were way too high 🤦🏽‍♀️

22. Violet Evergarden 5/5

Another anime that made me consider therapy. Thankfully the visuals were so beautiful that I didn’t need to go so far. I started to watch this last year but decided to drop because it wasn’t interesting to me at the time but jokes on me because now I can’t get it out of my mind.

23. Akudama Drive 5/5

This is seriously an underrated gem of an anime. If you’re looking for character development this is the one. If you want an interestingly unique story with a new world setting, this is it. If you want to simp over morally gray characters then look no further. If you hadn’t watched this one please give it a try.

24. Yasuke 2/5

I had such high hopes for this one. I actually saved the date and everything for this one only for it to be a huge letdown ☹️. They could’ve gone so many ways with this story but they went soooo far from the original story that everything felt like one big mess.

25. Komi Can’t Communicate 5/5

Ahhhhh the cuteness of this anime was too dang much. I seriously loved this one. I think I may actually rewatch because it was just so damn cute. There isn’t a character that I didn’t like from this anime. I’m counting down the days for season 2.

26. Jujutsu Kaisen 5/5

Yooooo this one took me by surprise. I went into this one completely blind and boy am I glad that I did. That first episode had me hooked. The action, the comedy, the characters were all amazing. And I really appreciate that there are age appropriate characters for me to simp for 🥲. Also the day Toji gets animated I might seriously combust!

27. Dr. Stone Season 2 5/5

This season was shorter than expected but it was still very much enjoyable. I literally learn so much from this anime than I ever did and in school. Really can’t wait for the next season that I’m considering reading the manga.

28. Horimiya 5/5

I’m kinda torn with this one tbh. It was a wonderful anime. The animation, the scores, the character designs, the voice acting were all spot on, but as a manga reader I was severely disappointed. There was sooooo much content that was left out to fit everything into one season. I’m really glad that we have an anime but I was really looking forward to seeing its entirety animated.

Tik Tok led me to this one. Not a day went by that a video would pop up on my FYP about this anime. It was like the universe was telling me: this one, this one, look at this one and I did. I didn’t have any expectations but I was blown away. Thank you Tik Tok for recommending this gem to me.

30. World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated 4/5

I almost dropped this one midway ngl. The first episode drew me in, the second piqued my interest but by the 6th episode it started to get repetitive that I got bored. Thankfully I managed to continue and I’m glad the last few episodes were a bit better. At least the opening was a banger.

He doesn’t get casted as those typical loud, heroic, shounen main characters, but you'll want to root for his characters.  (hmm, actually you'll like his characters even though they're support characters.)

He just… "owns" the character he voices.  Once I hear him voice a character, I can't really imagine that character being voiced by anyone else. 

 I feel that his voice really improves the character too; adding depth to the character.  

Special Mention: Hanae Natsuki I'm personally not a fan, but I have to admit that he is talented.

I'll go ahead and say it, I was very biased for this item.  They don't really get much projects together unlike other seiyuu duos (Kamiya Hiroshi + Ono Daisuke, Fukuyama Jun + Sakurai Takahiro)  but they're dynamics as theGreed pair just worked so well for me.

I just really, really love their tandem as Licht and Lawless!  

I loved it even more when I saw clips of the live Servamp event.

I hope to see more combinations like this in the future.  

Another duo I like is Nakamura Yuuchi + Fukuyama Jun.  Ratio and Birthday was a great tandem.

26. Seiyuus you always mistake for the other

Hatano Wataru and Konishi Katsuyuki 

The sound so similar to me.   

I actually thought these guys were voiced by Hatano Wataru until I checked the credits.

 Well, they were actually casted as son and father once (the Yaotomes in Idolish7)

I guess I'm not alone in thinking that they do have some similarities?

27. Underrated seiyuu

Kimura Subaru I don't think he gets much main voice acting roles.  (Well at least Hypmic got an anime now.)  He has this unique voice which sounds refreshing.    

I myself didn't really notice him before until someone pointed out to me how great he was in voicing Terasaka and Kanba.

Furukawa Makoto

Aside from Saitama (One-Punch Man) people rarely talk about his roles.

I think he deserves more recognition for his voice work. 

I was a bit disappointed when Taiju only got appearances in the earlier episodes of Dr. Stone.  I hope he gets a bigger role in the next season!

Did you know he did the narration in the Saiki Kusuo Psi-nan anime?  

I like his voice as Hatsuharu too.

28. Seiyuu who deserves better roles

Ono Yuki

His voice range is so flexible! 

I always get pleasantly surprised when I find out that he was the voice behind a character. He's one of those seiyuus who make you remember the character, not the voice actor.   

Sadly, I feel like everytime he is one of the main characters, he ends up getting outshined or forgotten...because other seiyuus are more popular.

Kawanishi Kengo

Really impressive work in 3an-gatsu no lion!

I think he deserves more leading roles!  He did get the lead role in Junjo no Magmell.  The anime had so much potential, but I felt that it could have ended better.

He was also perfect as Asagiri Gen in Dr. Stone!

29. Seiyuu who works well with other seiyuus

Miyu Irino

I can't really describe it well.  But Miyu Irino (both character and voice) just blends into whatever role is given to him.  

Classic example is Tachibana Chizuru from Kimi to Boku…like...he just established himself in their circle.

I guess he does get a lot of “outsider” characters who find their way in becoming a core part of a group.

One minute it’s “look at this wild card” and the next minute it’s “since when did you guys get all so chummy?!”

As expected of an experienced voice actor!  He can make his voice work in any genre, any character, with any cast.  

Hosoya Yoshimasa

He works so well with various tandems.

I have a friend who likes the Shimazaki Nobunaga + Hosoya Yoshimasa combi.

While I prefer the Miyano Mamoru + Hosoya Yoshimasa combi~

Whichever combi you like, there’s no denying his talent.  He has a good range of character types!

30. Seiyuus who gives characters life

Suzumura Kenichi

I'm not just talking about making the character lively. (like this adorable furball)

Whether the character is energetic or not, young or not, Suzumura Kenichi makes the character so believable and real.  

It seems to me that, no matter how minor, he makes each character memorable.

and that’s a wrap for the seiyuu challenge~ (for now ^ ^ ) I did have fun doing this and now have even better appreciation for the work they do.  I hope I can repeat this challenge in the future~ there are still so many impressive seiyuus out there!

Anime I Watched in Quarantine

With some of the restrictions being lifted, I wanted to make a sort of master post to see just how much I’ve watched in my time off. Plus, I wanted to share something more lighthearted with everyone.

All of these anime will be rated on a 1-10 scale, 10 meaning masterpiece, 1 meaning complete garbage. I’ll also share what I liked/didn’t like about each show. This list will go in chronological order, and will encompass all anime from 3/13 - 6/13. Multiple Seasons will be grouped together. 

1. Beastars - 8/10 

I dig how human and down-to-earth Beastars is. The pacing was a nice and the animation was unexpectedly great! It’s driving force is its characters and their interactions. Felt a little slow at times, and Juno annoys me, but that’s okay. I’ll be watching season 2.

2. Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun - 8/10 

Oh my god! This visuals for this were absolutely wonderful! It did feel a little cliche at times, I won’t lie. But, I still loved all of these characters and the nice balance between creepy and comedy. 

3. Ao No Exorcist - 6/10 

I posted about this one after I finished it. The ending really pissed me off. I feel like if I had watched this when I was 13, I would’ve given it a higher score. Compared to some of the other shounen I’ve watched, this felt a bit basic. That doesn’t mean I still didn’t like it. Still have to get around to watching season 2...

4.  Kaichou wa Maid-sama! 6.5/10

Shoujo usually isn’t my cup of tea. Maid-sama was a nice way to ease into the cliches of shoujo. Misaki is a great protagonist and the ending Maid-sama was so satisfying. I’m only giving it a low score because of its slow pacing and lack of certain character development. 

5.  Violet Evergarden Gaiden: Eien to Jidou Shuki Ningyou  - 7/10

I’m a big Violet Evergarden fan to begin with, so of course I liked this movie. It did not resonate with me as much as the series itself, but I still enjoyed it. Kyoto animation is never disappointing in their visuals and sound design 

6.  Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! - 8/10 

Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! Ren - 6.5/10 

Chuunibyou was a breath of fresh air for me. It was so different from all other romance anime I had seen at the time. It for sure has a slice of life vibe to it, but it was still so good! It reminded me of being in middle school and my “chuunibyou” phase. The second season was not as enjoyable as the first. I guess I just had higher expectations for Rikka and Yuuta. 

7. Dr. Stone - 7/10

Dr. Stone is honestly such a perfect shounen for me. I’m a science nerd, and with taking AP Chem this year it was kind of nice to sorta apply my knowledge. This show also has some of the best reaction images ever. The tone, however, is a little inconsistent which made it hard to keep watching. I do love the relationship between Senku and his Dad, that whole sub-plot was so endearing.

8. Oshiete! Galko-chan - 6/10

This one only gets a low score because its so short and the op takes up like half an episode. This show had been in the back of my mind for a while. I decided to watch it after seeing a video essay discussing it. Its masterful subversion of tropes and stereotypes was refreshing. The message of this show is so positive, and everyone can benefit from watching something like this.  

9. Mairimashita Iruma-kun  - 5/10 

The second half of Mairimashita Iruma-kun was so much better. I’m not completely sure why I didn’t like this as much as I should have. Overall, its a really average show. The comedy (and musical numbers???) give this show and charismatic and chaotic vibe. I’m someone who focuses primarily on character-character interactions, and this show definitely had it. It isn’t monogatari levels of dialogue but it’s still nice. For the studio’s low budget, they were able to make a really bright and colorful show. I’ll be watching season 2.  

10. Byousoku 5 Centimeter - 8/10

Very. VERY. Pretty!! This one was another one that didn’t completely resonate with me emotionally. I still loved the story and the way it was told. Its not like Your Name or Tenki no Ko, it’s realistic and grounded.

11. Mob Psycho 100 - 8/10

Mob Psycho 100 II - 9/10 

Style alone made Mob Psycho 100 so impressive. By the second half of each season I was emotional invested in Mob and his whole journey. Season 2 is receiving a higher score because it was able to make me cry. That’s something I NEVER expected. I’m mad I didn’t watch this sooner. It is a great balance of action, comedy, and heart. 

12. Noragami Aragoto - 8/10 

Not sure why I put off Norogami’s second season for so long. I absolutely loved it. The focus on Bishimon was a nice change of pace and it was great to see Yukine develop more as a character and begin to loose his arrogance. Kazuma was my favorite character in all of this. His ability to affect the people around him was presented nicely. I was emotionally invested the whole way through, and I’ll probably pick up the manga. 

13. Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji - 3/10

Ah yes. My least favorite thing on planet earth. This is a wonderful example of Shoujo at its worst. Their relationship was incredibly toxic, and the characters themselves were poorly developed and generic. The whole time all I could think was that I was watching normalized Stockholm Syndrome. Our MC deserves so much better. 

14. Youjo Senki - 6/10

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting to like Youjo Senki as much as I did. I’m not usually one for iesekai. The action was great, but the use of CGI bogged down scenes. I do NOT really like the protagonist that much because she came across as apathetic. Towards the end, I started to like her more. This was also my first military/warfare-focused anime. If either a movie or second season is made, I will probably not watch it. 

15. Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica - 6.5/10

I wanted to like Madoka Magica more than I did. I really did. The style was compelling and the story was interesting. Especially in the beginning, a lot of the death and sad stuff didn’t feel all that sad. The last 4 episodes are a solid 8/10, I love time shenanigans. The emotions and character development really shined through in the end. Madoka is such an inherently kind-hearted person, I love her so much! 

16. Yakusoku no Neverland - 8.5/10 

I was expecting Yakusoku no Neverland to be more graphic, but I’m kind of glad it didn’t go that route. Like Madoka, the last four episodes had me really invested. However, the character development was not as rushed. It’s a smart show and welcomed change of pace. Emma is my favorite character and you bet I’ll be watching season 2. The more I think about this show, the more I appreciate it. 

17. Mo Dao Zu Shi - 9/10

Mo Dao Zu Shi 2nd Season - 8/10 

I know that is is technically a donghua, but I’m counting it as an anime because its on MAL. Amazing visuals and an incredibly layered story.  Censorship makes it difficult to fully appreciate this work and its original novel. Even though I was confused for the first 2 episodes, Mo Dao Zu Shi did a great job of developing the time period and character relationships. The second season wasn’t as satisfying as the first but still great! I don’t think I’ll be watching the live action anytime soon, but I believe that a 3rd season is confirmed for 2020.

18. Banana Fish - 8.5/10

I knew nothing about Banana Fish going into it. Although I didn’t cry at the ending, it definitely made me feel some type of way. Kind of... numb. Banana Fish is painfully realistic. So much so that I had to take a break after episode 15 because I felt sick to my stomach. I also praise Banana Fish for it’s healthy, non-fetishized relationship representation. Eiji and Ash have such a complex but healthy relationship. I hope Banana Fish is able to pave the way for better representation in media. 

19. Promare - 5/10 

Why do people praise Promare so much? I hated how predictable it was. The whole movie felt like a 2 hour animation flex for Trigger. The only character in this movie that didn’t manage to piss me off it some way was Lio. The only other thing I’ve seen by studio Trigger is Kill la Kill, so compared to that, this felt like such a step down. :( I was disappointed. 

20. Given - 6/10

Given made me both sad and made me want to start a band. Overall the animation is nothing special, I do like the reactions that some of the characters had. Especially that “It’s Mutual” gif set. I couldn’t get over how much Ritsuka looks like Kageyama. My only complaint was how rushed Mafuyu and Ritsuka’s relationship felt. More time should have been dedicated to Mafuyu dealing with and moving past the loss in his life. All that said, I’m still watching the movie.

21. Enen no Shouboutai - 5/10 

Generic Shounen, bad ending, great animation. Need I say more? I did not watch Soul Eater (made by same creator), but this was enjoyable. Really cool fights, not so cool character development. A lot of the explanations towards the end felt like complete bull shit. Same energy as using fancy sounding science words to explain things. 

22. Hataraku Maou-Sama - 5.5/10

This is another show I felt I would’ve liked more if I watched it when I was younger. The iesekai trope is so beaten down that classics like this don’t really carry as much weight as they originally did. A 24 episode season with more Slice of Life episodes would’ve benefited this series greatly.

23. BNA - 7/10

BNA, in my opinion, was so much better than Promare. Like Hataraku Maou-sama, BNA would’ve benefited from a longer season with more Slice of Life Episodes. Trigger’s newer animation is beautiful and I really hope BNA gets renewed for a second season. The ending was cliche as hell, but still really enjoyed this show!

24. Devilman: Crybaby - 7/10 

A.K.A. The one show I’ve got to watch when I know I’m alone. The use of multiple languages besides Japanese in the sub was a unique take. The animation was also a little jarring at first, but I came to love it. The themes in this are not the most positive. The end left me feeling numb, but also appreciative. Ryo pissed me off as soon as he tried to kill that cat, so it was hard to sympathize with him in the very end. It is a really good show, but also sickening, Watch at your own discretion.
