Green or Red
James Wilson x Reader
~★~❤︎~✦~
“I’ve been Wilson's best friend for years, I’ve outlasted countless of Wilson's wives and girlfriends. Do you really think someone that's not even sleeping with him has more of a say then me” House wasn’t wrong he has known Wilson longer than you but Wilson was a known simp so you still had a chance.
“Why don’t you put your money where your mouth is then”
“What do you have in mind?”
“Hmmm.. Oh I know we’ll see who can get Wilson to wear a certain coloured tie.”
“Really that’s what you want” You just nod your head, feeling more confident by the second. “Fine, twenty bucks I can get Wilson to wear a red tie”
“Make it thirty and you have deal” House laughed agreeing to your terms
“What colour are you going for?” He asked as you started to head for the door.
“Green”
~~
“James just the guy I was looking for” You intercepted him on his way to the clinic.
“Really what can I help you with ?”
“Well I just wanted to say you look quite dapper today, you look lovely in this blue tie but I think green would look even better” you weren't being subtle at all but you desperately wanted to win this bet.
A blush coated his cheeks in an adorable boy scout way, “Thanks” he fiddles with the end of his tie, “You look lovely today as well.” You smile at the compliment, Wilson is always the sweetest.
“I’ll see you later then” you give him a small wave before walking away.
~~~ House ~~~
“New tie?” House calls out as he pushes his way into the lunch line, forcing Wilson to pay for his meal.
“You're the second one to mention it,” Wilson mumbles as he walks over to a table.
“Not surprised since it's such an eye-sore” House was taking a completely different route than you. Instead of complimenting Wilson he was going to shit on his tie and then suggest a red tie.
“What are you talking about? Y/n just complimented me on it” Wilson is not sure if House is messing with him or if he’s being truthful. He’s more inclined to believe that House is full of shit due to the fact you had no reason to lie to him, but neither does House.
“I’m sure she did” he took an obnoxious large bite of his food, punctuating his sentence. House should have known you would get to Wilson first but not to worry he can convince him otherwise.
“Care to elaborate or are you going to continue to beat around the bush?”
“Y/n lied about your tie being nice because she wants you to look bad at work, because she has a huge crush on you and wants you to look bad so no one else flirts with you. I mean come on your like catnip for the nurses,” Houses says in between bites of food.
Wilson had no idea what to say, did you really have a crush on him, and did this tie look good or bad on him. “I can’t follow you today, and I have no idea why everyone is so obsessed with my tie”
“I’m not obsessed, just thought as your friend you’d like to know you’d look better in a red tie.” He shrugged his shoulders grabbing some fries off Wilsons tray before walking away.
~~
Wilson Knew something was going on between House and You there's just no way both of you coincidently mentioned his tie. Honestly he’s not sure he wants to know. Though when he bumps into you he can’t help but try to pry some hints out of you.
“Hey y/n I was talking to house and he told me something interesting”
“Really what did he say?”
“He was talking about my tie”
“Oh, well I wouldn’t take fashion advice from him, have you seen the way he dresses?” You add a little chuckle.
“He was just saying the same thing about you”, of course he was.
So this weird thing you have going on with House is about his tie.
“That’s a fun coincidence, anywho I better get going but I’ll see you tonight”
“Tonight?” He has absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
“Yeah I’m going to let you take me out on a date”, This may be playing dirty but you were not going to let house win. The stakes are not high but if he wins he’ll constantly hold it over your head. Not that you were only going on a date with Wilson because of this bet. You did really like him but you were planning on making him work a little for it, but you're glad to go on a date with him a little earlier than you originally planned.
~~~~
“Wilson was just telling me about your little date tonight” you knew when House heard about your date with Wilson he would come to tease you about it. “Honestly I’m surprised that you're willing to sleep with him for a messily thirty bucks.”
“I’m not going to sleep with him for a bet”
“I’m not judging, I'm just impressed”
“That’s worse” you call after him, he’s already walking away “I don’t want your approval” but he’s already gone.
~~Later that night~~
After your date with Wilson you did end up going back to his house, and the two of you did end up sleeping together. What can you say? He's very charming.
When you were getting dressed that morning you couldn’t help but smile when he pulled out a green tie. You’ll buy him lunch with your new thirty bucks.

Misdiagnosis - James Wilson Imagine (House M.D)
Title: Misdiagnosis
Pairing: James Wilson X Reader
Word Count: 1,108 words
Warning(s): none that I'm aware of
Summary: [Season 4, Episode 9] After discovering he had misdiagnosed a patient, Wilson is left in a spiral of thoughts. (Y/n) tries to pull him out of it.
Author's Note: A while ago, I had a House MD OC. I deleted it because I wasn't happy with it. The planning was shaky, and I didn't really like the OC's storyline. So, I went back, I replanned it, and now we have a better House MD OC that I am much happier with. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

-----------------------------
It wasn't common that Greg voiced his concerns to me.
Even when he did, he was never clear about them. He acted like he didn't care and was just making jokes about other people's misery. I could usually see through it.
So, when he came in joking about how James was going to be sued by a patient because the patient was going to live, I understood what he was saying.
"And why did you tell that patient that they had a solid case," I asked, folding my hands together and resting my chin on them.
He dramatically scoffed. "You think it's me?"
"You have very weird ways of intervening when you think someone is being stupid," I shrugged. "Plus, no lawyer would actually tell him that he had an actual case because he was going to live."
House sighed and plopped onto the chair on the other side of my desk.
"Now, why did you do that?"
"Because Wilson was being an idiot," he explained.
"More detail, please."
"He was going to pay that man because he gave that man good news."
"And now, you're here because you want me to go get him to agree with you?"
"Use your psychologist babble."
"You can't only acknowledge my job when you need me to do something."
"I can if I'm asking you to help our friend avoid becoming self-destructive."
"Self-destructive?"
"You won't know for sure unless you talk to him."
Greg pushed himself out of the chair and walked out of my office. I let out a huff and shook my head. He knew exactly how to get under my skin. Asshole.
I found myself outside James's office a little while later. I sighed before knocking on the door. He pulled the door open.
"How did one of you learn to knock and the other one sometimes climbs across to my balcony," James asked.
I just shrugged. He motioned for me to walk in. I took a moment to look out at the balcony once I had.
"You could put tinfoil along the top," I said. James had his eyebrows furrowed when I looked at him. "Like when you have a cat that keeps jumping onto your counter. You put tinfoil along the top and something about the noise spooks them."
"Are you comparing your brother to a cat?"
"It's probably the nicest thing I've compared him to."
James laughed and shook his head, going to walk back to his desk.
"Were you really going to pay a patient for giving him good news," I asked.
He paused, looking at me for a moment before speaking, "House sent you here?"
"He said you were becoming self-destructive," I replied. "Not that I really believe him, but I was very curious-"
"It was 6,000 dollars-"
"Why?" my eyes went wide.
"I... I gave him six months to live," he explained. "He needed the money after he sold his house. He had a trip to Venice planned! I... I wanted to help him."
"This is about the false positive patient?"
"Yes!"
I sighed. "Okay..."
"Don't psychoanalyze me."
"Your guilt surrounding your patients is unhealthy-"
"(Y/n)!"
"Listen to me," I stepped forward and leaned on the desk. "I can't say why, but I think you're feeling unnecessary guilt around events that aren't your fault."
"I gave that man the wrong diagnosis-"
"Because of a false positive," I replied. "At the end of the day, medicine is a field with very little control. I think your guilt is an attempt to control what you can't."
He didn't respond to that.
"I should know... I deal with the human psyche," I shrugged. "Even more variables than the physical body."
He raised an eyebrow at me.
"Wrong diagnoses happen," I continued. "Sometimes they're completely out of our control. And sometimes they work out for the better, sometimes they don't. This last patient was one of the good outcomes, no matter how that man sees it. You cannot control the actions of another person when they believe that they are facing the end of their life or how they choose to handle learning that they aren't. You are not responsible for that. You are responsible for giving that man the correct diagnosis. That's it."
James continued looking at me for a moment before sighing and responding, "I see why Cuddy hired you."
"She does better with two voices of reason than one."
He grinned at me. I pushed myself back, so I was standing up straight again.
"So, do I still have to worry about you becoming self-destructive," I asked.
He scoffed. "I'm not the self-destructive one in your life."
"Yeah, but you're more willing to let people help you," I replied.
I opened my arms and waved him over. He raised an eyebrow at me. I just waved him over again.
He walked over and let me pull him into a hug.
"You're doing a good job, James," I muttered. "I promise."
"Thanks," he mumbled before stepping back and grinning at me. "You have no idea how much hearing that means to me."
I don't think I could've formed a good response to that statement. I don't know if there was one. Saying something like "you're welcome" risked the chance of looking egotistical. Trying to shrug it off could've looked ungrateful. No response felt like it was good enough.
I didn't have to worry about that for long.
I barely had a moment to overthink my response before James leaned over and pressed his lips to mine.
I leaned back a few seconds later out of complete shock.
"I... I'm sorry," he said immediately. "I... I don't know why I did that-"
"It's okay," I stopped him. I started walking toward the door. "Really, it's fine. Just fine. I just... I have a lot of work to do. This was meant to be a quick visit. I'll... I'll see you later."
"(Y/n)-"
"I'll see you later," I repeated before leaving and closing the door behind me.
I looked around, feeling like everyone knew what happened or could easily figure it out by looking at me. I shook my head. Spotlight effect. I knew that.
"Shit," I muttered to myself before running my hands over my face and starting to walk back to my office.
It wasn't that the kiss was bad. It was the exact opposite. It was perfect. That was the problem.
It felt like years of friendship were teetering very delicately on a rope and whatever happened in James's office tried to push it off. And I couldn't tell if I would've been upset but that idea or not.
And that terrified me.

Kinktober Day 2: Edging with James Wilson

"Please..."
"No." James's voice was firm as he squeezed your hand gently. It was meant to be comforting, but with the vibrator he'd shoved into you before leaving the hotel that morning buzzing against your clit you were in no mood for his comfort.
You were at some medical conference with him, and he had gotten tired of listening to you say how board you were the day before. So, to keep you distracted he made you wear a vibrator all day, on just high enough to make you squirm but not high enough to make you cum.
"James, please. I need-"
"I said, no." He snapped, pinching your hip lightly before walking away to get you both a drink.
You shifted slightly on your feet, trying to find a comfortable stance without making it obvious that something is wrong.
"Y/n!" You turned slightly, seeing Cuddy walking towards you. You gave her a strained smile as she got to you. "Have you seen House anywhere? He's supposed to give a speech later, and I need to give him the que cards-"
You tuned your husband's bosses' voice out when you felt the vibrations go up for the first time all day. You had to dig your nails into your hand to keep from making any noise as you felt yourself quickly approaching a high.
"Y/n, are you okay?" Cuddy pulled your attention back to her with a concerned face. "You look very red."
"I-um. I'm a little warm." You fanned at your face, trying to discreetly squeeze your legs together. Cuddy stepped forward to push the back of her hand to your forehead.
"Did you have a fever today? You feel like your body is trying to break one- oh!"
You felt you knees buckle lightly, and a strong arm wrapped around your waist to stabilize you. "I've got you." Your husbands voice slid into your ear, and you quickly hid you face in his neck.
"Gonna..." You warned, and by a miracle the vibrations turned down. As much as you wanted to cum, you didn't necessarily want to do it in front of your husband's boss.
"I'm going to take her back up to the hotel room." You heard him telling Cuddy before a hand on your back started leading you towards the exit.
Once alone in the elevator, James tilted your head up, pulling you into a kiss. You gripped his shoulders roughly, pulling him closer to your body as you tried to ground yourself.
"Fuck you, James." You mumbled against his lips, making the man frown.
"You should be thankful that I'm taking you up now. I could make you sit through House's speech." He threatened, but you knew it was more bark than bite.
"You wouldn't. He would put together what you did in seconds of seeing me-ahh!" The end of your sentence was cut off by a cry when James upped the vibrations. "Screw you!" James just smiled at your words, stepping away from you as the elevator approached the floor.
"James, I can't walk." You panted, leaning against the wall.
"I believe in you." He promised with a big smile which you responded with a glare.
Just before the door opened you were able to push yourself off the wall and stand up fully. James didn't turn the vibrations down as you walked to the room but did offer his hand to keep yourself steady. Thankfully, no one else was in the hall during the walk, and once in the room you collapsed on the bed.
Your legs were spread slightly as you laid there, still panting from the constant stimulation. James walked over to stand between your legs.
"Keep them spread please."
You babbled something that even you weren't sure what it was meant to be. James spread them just a little more as he pushed the dress you were wearing up and pulled your soaked underwear down.
'You're dripping all over the place, surprised you didn't leave a trail behind you." He pulled the toy out of you, and you let out a loud moan at the feeling of no longer having constant vibrations. But you still wanted to cum.
"Please..." You whimpered, making James lean down and run his hand over your hair.
"What, you want to cum?" You quickly nodded, whimpering before he shushed you. "Too bad. You're still in trouble from yesterday, and I have to go down for the speech. Now stay here, rest up, order some food if you want, I'll be back later. And don't even think about touching yourself, because I will know." A few tears ran down your face as James walked towards the door, leaving you alone in the hotel.

House’s pov
I stared at the test in front of me.
Everybody lies.
I held the DNA test in my hand, and I could feel it burn through my skin as I limped my way down to the office of my ‘sister-in-law’.
Knock knock.
“Is that Mrs Wilson in there? I can hear you caring.” I shouted through the wood in hopes of gaining access. The door was flung open. I was met by sunshine itself.
“Mrs Wilson? I thought that was you?” She jabbed. “What can I do for you, House?”
Her face was the picture of innocence, and the smile never left her face despite the witty comment. I worried about her reaction. Usually, I relished in the extent of human outbursts, wondering how far I could push them so long as the consequences never fell on me. But this didn’t feel right. This wasn’t going to be fun. I only prayed I could get to Wilson fast enough before these consequences ricocheted back on to her.
She widened her eyes in a silent question of why I was here. Her eyes flitted down to the piece of paper in my hand.
“Well come on, what medical supervillain are you going to brag about curing to me now?”
“Actually, this isn’t my patient. It’s yours.”
She scoffed at my ambiguity and proceeded to take the paper from my hands.
“What is that supposed to mean?” She giggled at the joke she assumed I was trying to make. But my face revealed the truth. When she received no further taunt or clever wordplay her smile dropped. Without much further thought she practically tore the paper trying to unfold it. Her eyes danced across the words on the page and each word took a little bit more life from her face each time.
In a flash she had exited her doorframe and had unceremoniously crashed into my shoulder. I couldn’t even bring myself to mock her for ‘injuring a cripple’ because as I watched her frame run further down the hospital hallway I had more important things on my mind. Primarily, protecting her from herself. And there was only one person I needed for that.
I limped down a few more doors and finally barged into the one office I needed. Wilson turned away from the new photo he was hanging on his wall. It was him and y/n at the beach.
“Please, come in. Have a seat. Thank you for knocking.” He mocked but I remained unmoved. “You’re not taunting back?” His brows furrowed at the abnormality. “Why are you here?”
I looked to my feet, suddenly afraid of my friend’s reaction.
“Your girlfriend is about to do something incredibly brave and incredibly stupid.”
Wilson carefully removed the nail and placed the picture neatly back on his desk. His eyes never met mine until he said.
“Where is she?”
Your pov
Flames burned my soul, and my heart was filled with anguish. I flew down the hallway. People jumped out of the way when they saw my sunny disposition replaced by hard stone. Normally, I didn’t like feeling like an imposition in the hospital. I would run towards a patients room when they’re seizing whilst simultaneously apologising to anyone who moved out of the way for me. Yet here I was, a torpedo through a sea of colleagues.
I made it. Room 309. The doors creaked at the weight of my push. A mother and father sit at their daughters bedside. 10 years old, in for a heart attack. The two parents turned towards me as their daughter remained peaceful and sedated. I was thankful, as the words that were about to spew out of my mouth were not for young ears. I held up the paper and presented it in front of them like a detective who just cracked the case.
“Three days ago, your daughter was brought in for a heart attack. Because of her extremely young age I decided to keep her in for observation so I could come up with a diagnosis for a myocardial infarction in a 10-year-old girl. I was coming up blank and eventually I was going to have to release her back into your care, but I was terrified. Terrified that if I let you go, I’d be dooming your daughter to a disease I missed. That was until today when I found out that your daughters heart attack was brought on by a short but severe onslaught of emotional distress.” At this point the two parents had closed in on me, eager to hear my findings. At this the mother became confused and sought answers amongst her tears. The father remained quiet.
“Emotional distress-I don’t—I don’t understand? Nothing happened before. We would---I would’ve known?”
I opened my mouth to speak but it just wouldn’t come out as my eyes fell on the little girls sleeping form. My eyes drew in and I decided to merely hand the mother the results which I had been given moments ago. She took them from me with shaky hands. I turned to face the man to the side of me.
“The police are on their way.” A loud shriek exploded from Mrs Hart as the words on the page resonated in her already fragile mind. I stared him down. “I don’t suggest running.”
I made my way to exit the room, preparing to actually call the police but also because, as selfish as it was, I couldn’t be subjected to that level of despair any longer. The screams of a mother learning about her child’s pain were enough. However, I was harshly ripped away from the door.
“What the fuck do you mean by that.” Mr Hart had my arm in an iron grip.
“I think you know. And now, so does your wife.” I tried to pry myself free, but he was too strong, and I was thrown up against the wall.
“What are you insinuating!”
“She had vaginal tearing, and her 10-year-old uterus was filled with semen. Semen that was just confirmed as having your DNA from a test which your wife is now holding the results of. Along with a comprehensive list of the injuries you subjected your daughter’s body to.”
I gained new strength and shoved the significantly taller male away from my body.
“My professional opinion is that when you crept into your daughters room that night and started subjecting her to your own examinations, the extreme emotional distress caused her body to shut down and brought on a heart attack. At least we now have the cure, no more playtime with daddy.”
“YOU BITCH!”
He lunged for my throat but not before I fled the room. I should have ran; found James or House or anyone. That would have been the smart thing to do. But I just couldn’t. This man disgusted me, and he needed to feel it. I needed to say it. The police would deal with him later, but I needed to get a few shots in first. I turned back to face him.
“That little girl in there, she depends on you because she has no one else. She trusts you to take care of her and you treat her like that. Every day I take in children, and I work to save them and I work to protect them. Every day I do my job as best as I can only for there to be people like you who take the innocence of a child and control it for their own perverted needs.”
Now he was fuming, and he stalked towards me. A lion to its prey. My resolve began to crumble, my bravery slowly lacking. He towered over my body, and I suddenly felt the fear that his little girl felt every night when daddy came in to her room. His face was confident, but his body held an anger.
“You’re lying.” His face was now inches away from mine. His hot breath washed over my face, and I began to shrink into my body.
“I have the proof. I have medical proof.” I whispered, my eyes struggling to hold his firm gaze
“Papers can go missing. It happens.” As he spoke his tainted fingers found a new resting point in my hair as they slowly began to stroke through my locks. I shuddered at the action that I ordinarily found so much comfort in. I remembered the nights where I would lie on James’ chest as he ran his fingers through my hair. The memory couldn’t save me from the situation I currently found myself in. As I went to speak I could feel the words crawling back in my throat. ‘Don’t antagonise. Play along. Wait for someone. He’s stronger. He’s bigger.’ But these inner thoughts were overshadowed and my mind replayed the first moment that little girl walked into my care.
“Enjoy your last moments of freedom.”
“I’m not going to prison.” He smirked at this, concocting a plan of escape. I had to say it.
“Really? I hear it’s so much fun for kiddy touchers.” In my peripheral I saw his hands fly up to grip my neck. I gasped. But before I could even feel his icy touch around my throat, he was ripped away from me and his back hit the floor in a matter of seconds.
“Don’t ever touch her.” James stood over his body. Just looking at him I felt my racing heart slow. He wasn’t wearing his lab coat, only his shirt and tie with his sleeves rolled up to the elbows. He panted from the long run from his office. Once he composed himself his professional nature returned.
“Officers, please escort Mr Hart off the premises. I believe Dr Y/l/n and Dr House have the medical proof of the sexual assault of a minor along with the DNA evidence to prove Mr Harts involvement.” The two police officers, who had obviously been called, but not by me, held Mr Hart by his arms as they hoisted him up off the floor. They secured the handcuffs around his wrist whilst reading him his Miranda Rights. “Whilst you’re there you can also add the physical assault of Dr y/l/n to his list of accusations.”
As he spoke, James approached me. At this point, I realised I hadn’t moved since the confrontation. James noticed my thousand-yard stare and approached me like how one would handle a skittish horse. He carefully rolled up the sleeves of my lab coat and he saw the beginnings of a bruise where his hands had gripped me.
I uttered a less than believable, “I’m fine.” Despite the lump in my throat.
His arms eventually wrapped around me, and I sunk into his embrace. He placed a gentle kiss onto my hair. I allowed myself to sink into him more. My head rested on his heart and the gentle thud offered me a consistent beat to focus on.
“How did you know?” My once strong voice came out as a whimper. He only needed to utter the word.
“House.” I felt a warmth spread through my heart at that. He knew. Somehow, he’d known. And James had known. And he knew how to take care of me.
“I don’t need you to defend me.” I spoke, uncertainly, into his chest.
“I know.” James softly said as he stroked my hair and brushed his thumb against the exposed skin of my waist.
“Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” He punctuated his sentence with the lightest kiss to my lips. As he retreated, I leaned in to seek him out again and he answered with another, deeper kiss.
We stayed there for a while. Neither of us speaking but our breaths saying everything for us. In that moment, despite what my words said, I had needed him and now, more than ever, I needed him to save me from myself. From the spiralling thoughts that flooded my head ready to push me down further and further. Eventually we separated but our intertwined hands meant I could still make sure he was there, and he wasn’t going to leave. He led me down the corridor, in the direction of his office rather than mine.
“What did you tell the police, when you called them? I was so blinded; I couldn’t even think about following procedure.”
“I didn’t call them. House did. Seconds after he got the results.”
We made it to his office where I remained for the rest of the day. James explained what happened to Cuddy and she allowed me the rest of the day off. James offered to drive me home but, honestly, there was nowhere I wanted to be, nowhere I felt safer than in his arms. So, he sighed and pushed out his chair in a silent allowance. I curled up on his lap as he sat and filled out forms. His left hand wrote as his right gently ran up and down my thighs. We didn’t need to speak; we were just there.

First Date - Dr. James Wilson
Pairing: Dr. James Wilson x Fem!OC
Summary: Takes place during S.1, Ep.20. Before his date with Cameron, House gets advice from both Wilson and his wife.
Warnings: Certain lines are directly from the show so credit goes to the writer. There is also mentions of a panic attack.
A knock on House’s front door drew both House and Wilson’s attention. House made his way over.
“You made her come here?” Wilson asked.
House opened the door to find Odette Wilson standing there. She scrunched her nose, head cocking back.
“At least put in a little more effort and add a tie,” she commented.
House turned to Wilson. “Number Three is here.”
Odette pat his arm as she made her way inside. Wilson sat up on the couch.
“Honey, what’re you doing here?” he asked.
She gave him a peck on the cheek. “House going on a date with Cameron? I’m not missing this.”
She threw off her coat, putting it on the arm of the couch as she took a seat beside Wilson on the couch.
“You told her?” House asked Wilson.
“Cameron told me,” Odette corrected. “She sounded very excited about it.”
“So why aren’t you at her place bothering her?”
“Because I like bothering you. Also, it wouldn’t kill you to get advice from a woman you actually tolerate.”
Wilson turned to House. “She has a point.”
Wilson then laid down, resting his head on his wife’s lap. Her hand carded through his perfect brunette hair, her nails gently scratching his head and easing any leftover tension or stress from work.
She handed him the newspaper lying on the table before picking up a random magazine.
“So, what wisdom can you thrust upon me, Number Three?” House asked as he opened his closet door, which revealed a mirror hung on the back of the door. “Remind me, did Wilson tell you about the wives that came before you on your first date?”
“Funny enough he saved it for the third date,” she recalled. “That said, exes are off the table when it comes to first date conversation.”
“Then what else do we talk about?” he asked as he reached for a red tie.
“Literally anything else,” she said. “It is not that hard.”
Wilson looked up at and noticed House’s tie.
“The wide side’s too short. You’re gonna look like Lou Costello,” he remarked.
Despite his attempts to tie it, he found himself failing.
“This is a mistake. I don’t know how to have casual conversation,” House said.
Odette got up, gently moving Wilson off her lap. She walked over to House and held out her hand.
“Give me the tie,” she said. “I can pre-tie it so all you have to do is just tighten.”
“Do I look like a child to you?” House snapped.
Her hazel eyes glared at him. “Give me the fucking tie, House.”
He rolled his eyes, handing the red fabric to her. As she started to work on the tie, she continued, “House, casual conversations are not that hard. You-.”
House cut her off. “You think you’re talking about one thing, and either you are and it’s incredibly boring, or you’re not because it’s subtext and you need a decoder ring.”
“You sound awfully nervous for a date you say you don’t want to go on,” Odette remarked.
“I’m not nervous. I have been on a date.”
“Not since disco died,” Wilson commented.
Odette snorted as she presented house with the tie. “Put it over your head and tighten it.”
He took it from her and made his way back to the mirror. He put the tie over his head.
Wilson continued. “Comment on her shoes, her earrings, and then move on to D.H.A.”
Odette, leaning on the wall, cracked a smile as House turned to Wilson for clarification.
“Her dreams, hopes, and aspirations. Trust me. Panty peeler.”
House eyed Odette for confirmation. She nodded her head, a slightly embarrassed smile played out on her lips.
“Oh, and if you need condoms, I’ve got some,” Wilson chimed in again. “Got them from a drug rep. They’ve got antibiotics built in, somehow.”
House moved into the kitchen. “I should cancel.”
Wilson and Odette eyed each other before quickly heading into the kitchen together.
“Don’t cancel on her,” Wilson said.
“I’ve got a patient in surgery tomorrow.”
“And if you were a surgeon, that would actually matter.”
Odette then chimed in. “I almost cancelled on Wilson and I’s first date.”
The two men looked at her, stunned by how casually she admitted it.
“You did?” Wilson asked, his face softened.
“Yeah, I had a panic attack about the date and I nearly cancelled,” she said. “I was so terrified and stressed that I would mess it up. I was so attracted to you and I had a history of messing things up on dates. I figured I’d mess up with you and the thought of that killed me. I was at work and I could feel it building up during a session with a client. Once they left I started hyperventilating. The front desk receptionist almost called 911 but the other therapist in the building came in and talked me down. She asked me if I really wanted to cancel and I said ‘no.’ So, I didn’t.”
House rolled his eyes in disgust.
“Why didn’t you ever tell me this?” Wilson asked.
“I figured it didn’t matter,” she said with a shrug. “Besides, it all worked out.”
He threw his arms around her waist and kissed her forehead. “It certainly did.”
The sound of the fridge opened drew the couple’s attention back to House who grabbed something out of it. Wilson went to say something when House revealed a corsage in a plastic case.
“This is lame, isn’t it?” House asked, cringing a bit.
Wilson and Odette smiled.
“I think she likes lame,” Wilson esponded.
==========================
As Wilson and Odette watched House speed off on his motorbike, Odette put a hand on Wilson’s back.
“Should we go to the restaurant and spy on House and Cameron?” she asked, a mischievous twinkle in her eye.
He squinted, pretending to think for a moment. “I actually have a better idea. Let’s go home and recreate the end of our second date.”
She hummed in delight. “That was fun. Definitely in my top three.”
“Top three of what?”
“Our sex adventures.”
His eyes widened. “You rank them?!”
“Oh don’t act like you don’t do the same thing.”
“Dare I ask what number one is?”
“Our wedding night.”
He grinned at the memory. “That was a great night.” He shoved his hands into his jacket pocket. “If I had told you about my ex wives on our first date, would you have gone on a second date with me?”
She nodded. “I would’ve considered it a bold move. But you also were so open and honest and I appreciated it. Made me feel like you actually wanted to be with me.”
“I’ve wanted to be with you since our first date. Why do you think I was so quick to make that second date?”
She licked her lip and glanced at House’s apartment. “Wanna recreate our second date in House’s bed?”

Is it just me or...
Wilson's relationships have some serious "Careless Whisper" vibes? 👀
Tonight the music seems so loud
I wish that we could lose this crowd
Maybe it's better this way
We'd hurt each other with the things we'd want to say
We could have been so good together
We could have lived this dance forever
But now, who's gonna dance with me?
Please stay
Careless Whisper - Georges Michael

Hii ^^ I love your account it's really the fandoms I love and I wanted to ask you if you could write a story about james wilson where he and the reader end up on a date at the monster truck (a bit like the episode with Cameron and House) or maybe House is there too, I just want a story a bit in the same style as the episode ‘cause I love that moment but with wilson. Thanks again keep writing I can't wait to read all your stories ❤️😊
hello so you should know that I am currently in my Wilson era so I loved writing this story, I took your basic idea and modified certain things I hope you like it...
´Like a date ? Part 1
Part 1 (this one), Part 2 , Part 3
House md!James Wilson x reader
summary: when House invites Wilson's crush on a date for revenge or when Wilson falls madly in love with a member of House's team
TW: House being house, mention of failed marriages and divorce, some house’s jokes and for this story I don’t mention the presence of Cameron, the reader being the main female character in the House team
sorry for the grammar mistakes
——————————————————————————————————
"I am the best"
Wilson raised his eyes from his lunch, House stood in front of him with his eyes sparkling with joy? Or pride may be in any case it was not a good sign.
"And you want me to tell you that..." James replied not sure where his friend was going.
"I want you to tell me that yes I am the best being on this planet that is called Earth, that you will create me a congregation dedicated to the god House so that I have thousands of supporters and faithful, and finally that you tell me that I am the best thing that has happened to you even better than your 3 marriages. ”
James looked at him perplexed unable to know what he was going to announce, knowing his friend it could go from a simple action like buying him a can of coke or offering him a 2-year trip to the Pacific islands, or killing someone, the variables were endless.
"My friend, what are you doing on Friday night, no, it's not even a question in fact, I'm announcing that Friday night we're going to see you and me the Monster Trucks"
Wilson was shocked, a surprise a real good surprise from his friend, who did not ask him to commit any violation of the law. But suddenly his face darkened.
"Wait, you said this Friday night"
"Yes, Friday, you and I are as free as the air in the fabulous world of car destruction"
Wilson was embarrassed
"House, I can't I'm really sorry"
"I think you didn't hear, it's probably because of your old age but it's okay I'll repeat it to you, I said Monster Truck and you have no choice"
"I know I know but I had already planned something that evening"
" What can be better than that? Your wife? Your ex-wife? Your ex-ex-wife? Believe me, none is worth it"
Wilson sight, of course when House was offended he became bitter.
"It's been a month since I promised a friend to see him tonight, it's been almost 7 years since we saw each other, and I told him that we would see each other in town and that I will organise everything"
House stared at him for a second and then took a breath, he didn't believe what he was going to say.
"Your friend there... uh"
"Ben"
"Yes, Ben, does he like Monster Trucks ? ”
——————————————————————
House had managed to get two more tickets for tonight, yes two tickets because after he offered to invite his friend Fred to his Monster Truck party, Wilson had told him that he didn't need to do this for him and that he didn't want to force House to spend the evening with another person just so he could go see the Monster Trucks.
For House yes, seeing the Monster Trucks without Wilson wasn’t possible, it's like eating bread without butter, watching a movie without popcorn, going to Vegas without playing, seeing Cuddy with a low-cut without saying anything ... in short impossible for him.
But Wilson had insisted, because of his damned conscience he could not accept this ticket without feeling bad about his friend. So House offered him to also bring a friend like that he would not be completely alone during the evening.
"A friend? ”
"Yes, a friend, what do you think I have no other friends than you? ”
"No, no, it's just that I haven't met them before"
"Well, you'll see them on Friday night" and he left his office
"House if you bring back a ho-"
And now he found himself with less than 24 hours to find a "friend" for tonight, so that he would not be alone in front of the duo Wilson / Derek.
He thought about it very seriously, he had to be a person who he is sure is not a plan for tonight. Either a person from the hospital, it is well known that doctors have no life apart from their work.
Cuddy? No, he needed someone who was afraid of him.
Foreman? No, he would surely say no and the company would be rather unpleasant
Chase? Maybe even if the Australian has surely never heard of the Monster Trucks on his island.
Finally he had an illumination, of course it was the ideal plan, he had to invite Y/N.
Since his arrival as a member of his team, House has noticed his friend's obvious link with the young doctor. After all, the woman was beautiful and young, one of the reasons why House hired her in the first place, but in addition ‘miss perfection’ also claimed to be a good doctor, from time to time according to him but enough to be useful to the team.
Wilson always had the unfortunate habit of flirting with all the beautiful women he met and they fell into his ´nice boy' trap so easily that it had lead to 3 spoiled marriage. But with doctor y/n it was different, after carefully observing them several times, House had seen that the young woman was making her friend nervous, for one of the first times it was he who was in a lower position.
It was very satisfying to see how he managed to forget everything when he saw her, to the point of sometimes stammering slightly, if he pretended to listen to her we could see that he was completely lost in front of the young woman. In short, he was a mess in front of her.
This was a enough for House to invite her, okay she was not necessarily the perfect candidate, he should surely have to explain the rules to her for hours and she would surely be suspicious in the first place. But House saw this as a "revenge" on Wilson, he already imagined his friend's face; or even George's, when he was going to arrive at the woman's arm who drives him crazy.
House knew he was pinching for her, they had talked about it but Wilson didn't want to do anything at the moment. So House had to force things a little, and after all y/n was one of the few people apart from Wilson to support House and accept his humour, and he also appreciated it especially when she shuts down Foreman or Chase, she was smart and clever.
Upon entering his office, he saw her studying a file on the table in the next room.
"Hum" he coughed so that the young woman noticed his presence.
She gently raised her eyes to look at him. "Everything all right? ”
"What are you doing tonight? ”

Loving You From Afar
James Wilson x Reader
Prompt: Can you do a james Wilson blurb or something where instead of showing up at house’s when he find out his wife is having an affair, he shows up at yours and you kinda help him heal but in the means of all that he falls in love with you too 🥹 ~ from anon
~★~❤︎~✦~
A knock woke up , still groggy with sleep you walk to your door. Cautiously peaking through the peephole, wondering who it could be at this hour. You let out a breath of relief when you see Wilson standing there. With furrowed eyebrows you open the door getting a better look at him. He looks deject. “Are you okay James, did something happen?”
He seemed confused at the question, looking around like he was in a haze. His eyes settled back on you taking in your attire. “I’m sorry did I wake you?”
You look at him concerned, laughing a little, “Well It is one am, most people are sleeping at this hour” you place a hand on his arm, “I thought you were working tonight”
“I am.. Or I was, I got off early and umm” his head fell refusing to make eye contact with you.
“Why don’t you come in James” he doesn’t respond, so you just grab his arm leading him into your apartment. He’s still silent even as you sit him on the couch. It’s only when you ask him if he wants a glass of water does he finally speak up.
“I found her in bed with another man” It took you a few seconds to process what he was saying, but when you did you could help your shocked face. You knew things between him and his wife were rough but you didn’t realise it was this bad.
“Oh I’m so sorry James” you envelope him in a hug and he instantly melts into you.
“I shouldn’t be surprised, I’ve barely seen her in weeks and-” he abruptly stops.
“What James?” He debates for a moment if he should continue but eventually he decides to.
“We’ve both been pretending to still love each other, I’ve known for a little while that she's been seeing someone and she knows that my affections have gone elsewhere. I guess knowing is different then actually seeing it though.”
“I’m sorry James, I'll go grab some blankets and a pillow for you and you can stay here.” He nods his head watching you as you walk away from him.
Over the last couple months he’s realized he's been falling in love with you. He just couldn’t help but be mesmerized by you. He wants to tell you but now's not the time he’ll wait till he's officially divorced. So for now he’ll settle for admiring you from afar.

James Wilson X Reader
Pt.1
Rehab and Romance
Details: (y/n) gets admitted to Princeton after accidentally over dosing. She and House went to the same rehab at the same time which makes for an interesting time at the hospital.
(This is my first fan fiction/ x reader thing I’ve ever written but someone had to do it)
I lay there in the hospital bed. Staring at the ceiling just counting the lights in the room over and over again until I think of something new to think about. I have no visitors, on account that no one would show up because I don’t really talk to anyone. I break out of my thoughts when I hear the glass door open to my room. I look at the person who had entered and it’s some very handsome guy. He looked like he should be on a magazine not a hospital, matter of fact almost every doctor in this building looked too good to actually be true it was insane. I look him up and down as he starts walking over the clip board that hung over my bed. He must have introduced himself because when I look up into his eyes from the clip board I was looking at he’s looking back at me like he was waiting “I’m sorry what did you say? I’ve been spaced out the whole time” I told him and he shook his head “No problem. My name is Dr. Chase. I was just gonna ask you a few questions if that’s alright with you?” He asked. Oh his Australian too? Where’d they get this guy from. “No, I wouldn’t dream of telling my doctor anything” he looked at me confused but I rolled my eyes with a slight smile on by face seeing that he didn’t catch my joke. “I’m just messing with you. Go ahead” I told him and he smiled and nodded. “Alright then” he said as he listed on a pile of random questions about my health and other random factors.
When chase was done asking me questions he went to leave “Hey hold on” I stopped him. “Dr. House is your boss right?” I ask him. He nodded with slight hesitation at first “More or less” he responded. I nodded and looked down to my hands “I know he’ll say no but if you can, ask him to come down and see me. Tell him it’s (y/n) (l/n)” i asked then looked up into his eyes. Chase smiled and nodded. “I’ll try my best” a few seconds of silence. It looked like he was about to leave but just as he turned around he had stopped. He slowly turned back to me “If you don’t mind me asking.. how do you know house?” Chase asked curiously, a little nosey but with a person like house you got information about him almost never. “I uh met house..in rehab ” I said slowly and with shame my face looking not so proud of the words I just let out. Chase nodded. “I haven’t seen him in years, kinda miss the shit head” I told him and he let out a light laugh, amused by the words I said because he could only agree that house is a shit head. “Well like I said, I’ll try my best but House doesn’t really visit his patients” Said Dr. Chase then he made his way out.
I waited in that bed for so long. Hours passed. Nurses came and went, the doctors also came in every once in a while just to check up on me. Even at midnight there is no house, I assumed he just wasn’t gonna come down. Just when I was about to close my eyes to sleep I saw House walking to me through the glass wall. My eyes shot open for a second in shock, I didn’t think he’d actually come. I relaxed when I realized how stupid I must look. Just as I thought House was gonna come in I saw him talking to another doctor in front of my room. He wasn’t even here to see me, he was just looking for that doctor. The nerve. I look around the room and grab a random pen they left and I throw it at the window, not to hard but enough to make a tap noise to get houses attention. House and his friend both look in my direction and I just wave and mouth a “hi”. House rolls his eyes and sighs heavily making his way to the door. His friend follows him, the pure confusion on his face. “Looks like you are a doctor” I said and looked him up and down “Either that or you just got of an over dose check out” I said to him making jabs at him. “Looks like you already did all that for me” he said taking a jab at me. He was right though, I was here because I decided to get pill happy. “I’m guessing you’re still on those pills too” I said tilting my head in curiosity. I watched as his pupils didn’t move at all. He raised his eyebrows in fake impression “what gave it away?” He asked sarcastically and I looked him up and down “Everything” I said. I looked over at his friend, looking him up and down. I didn’t take the time to really look at the other doctor with brown hair and puppy eyes. He was stood there silently looking at house then he looked over at me, making eye contact.
I smile at him getting a good vibe off of him. He’s also very handsome which helps. Not a Dr. Chase type handsome, Chase is very Magazine model, red carpet kind of handsome, this guy was sweet romantic star lit dinner, midnight whispers type of handsome. He looked like the embodiment of the word Romance, like the type of guy to give you roses and lead u to surprise dates.
I realize that I’ve been staring at this guy for a while “Well since House isn’t gonna introduce us I guess I will. The name is (y/n) and yours is?” I wait for his response and he snaps out of whatever daze he was in “I’m Dr. Wilson, nice to meet you” he said and I nodded “You too” I said and House just looks awkward to mess with us “Well as much as I’d really love to see you guys eye fuck each other in front of me, I have a job to do” House said as he starts to walk out “It was nice seeing you House” I said to him before he walked out the door completely.
He looked back at me and tightened hips lips together and raised his eyebrows in response then left. Wilson stood there awkwardly for a second “I should go to” he said in matter of factly. “You and house seem to be good friends” I blurted out and he looked at me in my eyes and shrugged. “He meddles, I stay for it, yeah I guess” he said “If you don’t mind me asking how do you…” he began then started to drift off as if he was trying not to offend me by asking “I met him, in rehab” I said and Wilson nodded slowly understanding “Heart breaking truly that he never even mentioned me once, after our strong bond of drugs” I joked and Wilson laughed lightly, his smile looking so nice. “Well don’t take it to heart, he doesn’t say anything about himself to anyone” Wilson said comforting me but I already knew that about house. “Trust me I know, took me forever to get him to tell me why he’s in that cane” I said.
I looked at Wilson’s facial features, slowly examining them. I looked at his hands to check for wedding ring but found nothing, I slowly look back up at him “You single?” I asked out of the blue, Wilson looked taken a back, he looked almost flattered. “Yes, I am. Why do you ask?” He asked me tilting his head a little and slightly raising an eyebrow. God even his voice sounds romantic. “So I don’t feel bad when I tell you that you are the most romantic looking guy I’ve ever seen. You’ve got something going for you” I strangely complimented him. Dr. Wilson’s eyes slightly widened at the unusual compliment, he looked a little flustered by it. “I’ve never been told that, thank you” he responded whilst trying to hold back a smile. So he’s sentimental too. “I should really get going though, it was nice to meet you” he said about to head out “Very nice to meet you to Dr. Wilson. Hope we’ll meet again soon” I said slightly flirting with him but also being serious. Wilson smiles “have a good day” he said and walked out. With a face like that I wish he wasn’t so professional.

*your pov*
“As most of you know, Dr Gregory House recently did a speech about me-“
I looked up as James entered the room and took his place next to me. He slotted our hands together under the table.
“-and I’m going to return the favour.” Vogler continued, acknowledging James’ tardiness. “Dr Wilson, I was hoping you were going to miss this one.” I furrowed my eyebrows at this. James was the Head of Oncology and a respected member of the board. Why would his presence be a hindrance?
“Here are some of House’s actions. Violation of a DNR, charged with assault. He brought a termite into the OR and spat on a surgeon. He accepted a corvette from a patient who was a known member of the New Jersey mafia-“
“Come on Ed look-“ one of the doctors cut in, trying to prevent him boring us with details of House’s antics that we were all well aware of. I was already counting down the minutes till I could leave, thinking this was going to be another failed coup at removing House. He would never be removed. He was too brilliant.
“Edward.” Vogler’s tone was sharp. Offering no room for argument. My blood suddenly ran cold. This wasn’t going to be a normal meeting.
“You look at anyone’s career you’ll find—”
“These are the last three months. He has personally had more complaints lodged against him than any department in this hospital.”
“Okay, he screwed up.” James finally spoke up. “He’s miserable. And he should probably re-read the ethics code.” I softly chuckled at this.
“Something funny Dr Y/l/n?”
“No, excuse me.” I shrunk back down in my chair.
James continued. “It works for him, he’s saved hundreds of lives- “
“He is a drug addict who flaunts his addiction and refuses to get treatment.” I suddenly became alert. I glared at Vogler for his surface level assessment of House.
“How do you know what he’s been through!” I spoke up despite James’ warning grasp of my arm.
“He is a disgrace and embarrassment to this hospital. I am going to keep this simple. Either House goes or I go.” Cuddy and I scoff at this. He would take away his money, that could save millions of lives, just because House doesn’t play well with others. James looks to Cuddy, waiting for her reaction.
“You gave us that money for a reason.” Cuddy attempted to bring the conversation back to medicine and the hospital. “You’re really going to throw it away over one doctor.”
“Gregory House is a symbol of everything wrong with the healthcare industry.” I wrapped my hand around James’ thigh as I could see it jumping up and down. He was getting angry. I had to keep him calm. “Waste, insubordination. Doctors preening like their kings and the hospital is their own private throne room. Healthcare is a business and I’m going to run it like one.” I loudly exhaled at this statement. Right there. His true colours shown. He was about business, not care.
“I hereby move to revoke the tenure of Dr Gregory House and terminate his employment at this hospital, effective immediately.”
“Don’t you think we should discuss this-“
Vogler shot me a threatening glare. “We just did.” James moved to rise from his seat, and I clamped my hand down harder. He compromised by placing his elbows on the table, directed towards Vogler. As if he was shielding me.
“The vote is on the table. All in favour?”
A hush fell over the room. But one by one, the doctors relented. Dollar bills were practically glittering in their eyes as they each raised their hands in favour. James and I looked around in disbelief. My colleagues, people I would consider my friends. Turning on one of their own, and for what? Money? I waited patiently for Cuddy. I tried pleading with her through my eyes, willing her to put a stop to this. Her hand went up.
Vogler owned them and he knew it. But he didn’t own James, and he knew that.
He noticed the stillness of James and me.
“The motion is defeated. Dr Wilson would you mind stepping out of the room?”
“Excuse me?” James couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
“We’re gonna take another vote.”
“Well, first of all, you can’t void my vote by making me stand in the hallway. Second, you should check the by-laws. You need notice and at least one business day before you can reconsider any matter.”
“We’re voting on another matter over which you are conflicted out of. Actually, you’re little girlfriend too--”
“Address her as Dr Y/l/n.” James’ voice raised to indicate his seriousness. “And how can we be conflicted?”
“This vote is whether to dismiss Dr James Wilson.” I saw the light leave James’ eyes. This job was his life. He worked so hard; he didn’t deserve this. His lip quivered as if he was going to speak. But after looking around at the lowered heads of his colleagues, he relented and got up to leave.
“No!” I pushed my chair away harshly. All eyes were on me, including James’ which were soft and pleading.
“y/n, don’t do this. Not for me.”
“Yes, for you.” I turned back to Vogler, with unmatched anger. “Dr Wilson is the best oncologist in the whole damn state, you can’t just fire him, not after his years of service.” My voice was beginning to raise. “And what are you going to do just fire every doctor who disagrees with you? Where’s the ethics in that?”
“Y/n let it go. It’s over.” His voice was quiet, but I could hear it shake.
“Dr Y/l/n, you should listen to your boyfriend. He knows what’s good for you.”
“He goes. I go.”
“Nooo, Dr Y/l/n, this hospital will be lost without your crafting skills and tea parties.” He sarcastically said. “Frankly, if I get rid of you, I’ll save money on resources and supplies. Don’t worry, I will find another head of paediatrics, one more focused on medicine rather than babysitting.” The tears were welling in my eyes, but I was stopped in my tracks by a sharp yell.
“HEY! Don’t talk about her. Ever.” I placed my hand on James’ chest before the termination was elevated to a restraining order.
“Let’s go.”
“No, you need to stay.”
“No. You go, I go. That’s the way it is.” I placed a gentle kiss on his lips and grabbed his hand. We walked out of the meeting. I made sure to slam the door on the way out just to be petty.

Vogler strutted into House’s office, pleased with the news he was about to deliver.
“How’s your soap?”
House refused to meet his eyes.
“Uneventful.”
“Really? Because I heard today, they fired the handsome Head of Oncology and the pretty princess of Paediatrics.”
