Headlines and Perspectives - One shot

Dr. Two Brains blood chilled when he saw what was printed on the morning edition of the Fair City Times. Guilt, torment, and anger coursed through his body. How dare the called her that! Becky wasn't anything like that monster! It wasn't her fault that Miss Crimes was making her commit all that violence and bloodshed. Two Brains let out a sigh, releasing his anger as he noticed how his hands were beginning to crumple and tear up the newspaper. "Besides. The only reason she is dealing with all of this is because of me." Dr. Two Brains mumbled in a guilty tone. He knew this headline will only make people's fear of Miss Crimes even worse. He had to finish the cure quickly before it would be too late. Victor frowned as he silently read the newspaper. Unwanted memories were coming back as he gazed over the words and the information about Miss Crimes printed in the article. "So now you see why I need you on this case Agent Cutter." Margaret spoke in a serious tone to the man as they were both seated in her office at The Agency. Victor let out a sigh. He had done cases like this before, but things were different this time. "She is still a child ma'm." Victor responded, his face bearing an slightly anguished expression. Margaret Fuller's gazed at Victor with a sympathetic look despite still bearing a hardened and serious expression. "I know but we can't have her running around and killing innocent lives anymore. For now I want you to find out more information on Miss Crimes such as he origins, powers, and weaknesses. If there is a way to contain her then do it. If not..." Margaret paused. Victor just grimly nodded. She didn't have to finish that command. Victor knew if he couldn't capture Miss Crimes, then he would have to end her life. Darius smirked with intrigue as he sat in his office. The newspaper from one of his associates who was situated in Fair City looked very promising. He then pressed a button on a device with a speaker. "Miss Lears, please bring in the contact information of Dr. Calvin Barriton and Professor Athena Cartwright to my desk immediately." Darius commanded. "Right away Mr. Brewster." A voice responded. Darius smiled wickedly and went back to reading his paper. "It looks like B.E.A.W labs might get a new bioweapon soon, or some scientists might get a chance to test out their weapons on Miss Crimes. Whichever comes first." Darius mused to himself as he drank his coffee. Archie Webber had a fierce and determined expression as he packed his hero gear up. Dr. Arannae was ready and willing to bring this Miss Crimes to justice. She was going to pay for killing his best friend Jenkins and for crushing Joe's heart. The poor man had called Archie and through tears and anguish told him what happened to Dr. James Jenkins. How Jenkins' mangled remains were found in his lab along with destroyed equipment. Joe had also told him about what was printed in today's newspaper concerning Miss Crimes. "That girl's murderous crime spree ends now." Archie growled as he headed out the door with his gear in tow. His pet spider Fluffy safe at his mom's house. Archie didn't want to imagine what would happen if Miss Crimes got her fiendish claws on his sweet boy.

What's the most embarrassing thing you've ever done? Most embarrassing thing you've witnessed?

Dr. Jenkins - *mutters* oh geeze why do these questions have to be that personal. *normal tone* The most embarrassing thing I have done was trying to invent a type of foam that would work better than cement and be more environmentally friendly by being easily biodegradable. I ended up making mashed potatoes for some reason and they were tough as concrete. Literally you couldn't eat it without breaking a tooth. But did Director Connors listen when I tried to warn him no. Luckily he couldn't sue me from that.

The most embarrassing thing I witnessed was some guy with a pet snake accidentally ripping his pants in public and trying to fix it with a rope. Why didn't he use ductape?

Wordman: Most embarrassing thing I have done - tomato incident, no further comment. What I have witnessed that was embarrassing, I walked in on Dr. Calvin Barriton once dancing and singing to "Material Girl". I got good blackmail evidence out of that one though.

Mouse: I tried dancing once and my dad freaked out because he thought I had gotten actual fire ants in my clothes. I told him I was dancing. He tried to make me feel better by lying and saying it was good but it was too late. I did appreciate his attempt and apology though. The most embarrassing thing I have witnessed was seeing dad's high school and college pictures courtesy of my uncle Victor. That afro did not work for dad.

Rodent Man Au

So this is an idea that is like a Spider-man au but with Steven.

So when Squeaky pressed the button on the mind reading device, instead of fusion, it made Squeaky radioactive. When Steven tried to pick him up, Squeaky bit him So Steven in this au has the powers of a mouse. His hero outfit is his goggles but he also wears a black jumpsuit with yellow outlines. He has a fake prehensile tail to help him catch or trip up bad guys. He also has a belt with gadgets. A mouse logo is printed in the middle of the belt. He wears fingerless gloves to help him move around. He leaps and climbs stuff like a regular mouse. His speed and agility is maxed for an adult mouse. Steven does not have an obsession for cheese but still has a small addiction to it. His hero name is Rodent man. His hero skills come from stealth attacks though he does have some combat skills.

Now while dealing with EVA villains as he helps Wordgirl and Huggy out from time to time. He will also deal with villains that take the place of Spider-man villains in this au.

Steven taking Shaggy's role but instead of coward he is the one with the common sense of the group to try and avoid dangerous locations. Of course he ends up being dragged in there due to his alien feral daughter escaping into these haunted places being chased by her monkey babysitter Bob. They both share Scooby's role with Bob being the running and fear part of Scooby Doo.

Teresa and Carrie share Velma and Daphne's role from time to time. Amazo Guy takes Fred's role.

1st idea - combining a bit of what we talked about with Eris about a victorian style Wordgirl with the testubular five plus other stuff. So this is a Victorian/Sherlock Holmes/Steampunk Wordgirl au where Becky, who is 13/14 in this au goes by the hero name Shadow Girl instead of Wordgirl as she dresses up in all black with a black hood, cape, eye mask with a silver star. She is secretive about this and her identity due to the social cues and constructs of the Victorian era as it was improper back then for a lady to wear trousers (pants). She serves as an investigator/crime fighter with Scotland Yard. The villains have a mafia/organized crime type of deal with Professor Terror at the top Branch. Becky Boxleitner is the daughter of researcher Professor Steven Boxleitner who represent Jekyll and Hyde with Professor Terror being Hyde (Eris's idea). The Wordgirl villains are a mix of upper class, middle class, and lower class people. Those with superpowers are not meta humans but were given their abilities when they asked Professor Terror for them. It was all willing and no trickery involved. Lady Redundant Woman was a disgruntled middle class worker who asked Professor Terror the power to prove she can be the boss so he gave her the power of duplication and creating duplicates of other people as well. Nocan is actually a viking warrior who was frozen in ice before Professor Terror thawed him out. The villains are a mixed of inventors, cons, those who asked Professor Terror for power, or families with dark secrets of their own. See not every villain received their powers from Professor Terror. Some like Rhyme, Chuck, Invisibill, Victoria, and Eileen were injected with their powers from a few top scientists that were part of an old group called the Testubule (Testubular) Five. They become bosses at one point or another. Calvin, Athena, and Steven already villains while Doohickey and Tubing tragic villains. Becky does not know about her father being Professor Terror but he does know about her being shadow girl and does not mind her heroic choices but wishes she wouldn't put herself in harms way. The reason he knows was that Becky wasn't an alien. When Becky was very small, she had gotten very sick, Steven tried to help her as much he could with the doctors and medicine of that time but it was no use. Then Professor Terror decides to try other worldly means and steals a space rock from a museum to create the antidote. The rock was Lexonite which gave Becky her powers and healed her. Ironically it still weakens her if she is exposed to it like in canon. Bob was a pet monkey that was given to Steven after Becky was born after his 1st wife, Teresa, disappeared mysteriously. Your Carrie lore happens in this au also. As for Amazo Guy, he is a traveling teacher/ male child manny. (nanny for men.)

Caroline aka Carrie is the only daughter of a count family facing ruin and is set to be sold into marriage to a man she's never met. So months before the "wedding" she decides to run off with some help of beatrice.

Her parents are furious ofc since their only way of better income is gone. and yeah they do try to hire detectives to bring their daughter back. Carrie (she changes her name to clover >:3333) in the meantime meets steven and they fall in love. but then tragedy strikes. and she becomes Calvin's Frankenstein project oof @ninjastormhawkkat

Dr. Two Brains looked surprised at the mention of another of Henry’s old friends. “Do you think this guy could come soon enough from wherever he lives?” The mad scientist asked his boyfriend. “Oh yes he can.” Henry reassured his boyfriend. “Gabriel Utterson moved to a place called Greenstone a while back before the incident with the fire. He told Robert and ah that he was heading there because of some serious legal battles with a lawyer named Corbin Devlin. If ah am correct, then Greenstone isn’t too far from Fair City. So if he isn’t busy, he should help out with the situation e’re.” Henry explained. He didn’t mention how Gabriel told him and Robert that there was some type of conspiracy surrounding Mr. Devlin as he didn’t want his boyfriend to have the wrong interpretation of his friend. Edward thought Utterson was crazy for thinking that Corbin Devlin was a demon just because the man acted like a prick and sleazy lawyer. “So it turns out Calvin Barriton and Athena Cartwright also worked for B.E.A.W Labs.” Margaret remarked as she spoke to Victor on the phone. “Yep, and somehow they pulled certain connections to have that bitch walking free and working back here of all places.” Victor growled. He hated that something like this was pulled right under his and the Agency’s nose. “Don’t beat yourself up over this, Agent Cutter.” Margaret Fuller reassured him. “The B.E.A.W Labs is an incredibly intelligent and stealthy organization. We still don’t know the identity of the C.E.O.” Victor sighed. “You’re right. Also, with Calvin MIA and Athena deceased, we have no leads to the organization. I’m going to talk to Emily later and see if I can dig up something on Gene’s old workplace. I have a feeling that some of his old bosses were bribed or blackmailed by Calvin into taking Athena back. It would explain how they would have access to some of the tech in that abandoned building since it would be difficult smuggling it here without detection.” Victor exclaimed. Margaret nodded on the other line. “Acceptable plan. Also see if you can ask Mr. Barton if he knows anything about B.E.A.W Labs since he and his group have been able to take down a few of their patrons.” Will do, mam” Victor replied. “Also, has there been any progress on the incident with the fire and the murder of Hastie Lanyon Sr.?” “Not there hasn’t unfortunately.” Margaret responded. “According to our techie Ellis, the fire was caused due to a sudden high presence of odorless methane gas yet the heating system and generator attached to the estate was too far damaged in the fire. It is difficult to tell where the gas originated. Also, I have to rule out Mr. Barton as a suspect in the murder of Lanyon Sr. The man is a wildcard but that murder was too reckless and personal. Barton and the Mad Science League have always been able to stay within the shadows and leave not a trace behind unless they want to be found. We can’t rule out any member of Barton’s group for the fire though.” “Do you think Robert Lanyon might have been responsible for his father’s murder? Since you said it was personal.” Victor asked. Margaret was silent for a few minutes before she replied. “We can’t rule him out yet, but we do need a motive. Dr. Jekyll is in the clear since the reason for him coming here was due to his alternate self. Right now focus on Mr. Barton and finding Dr. Barriton. Our other agents will handle the rest of this puzzle. Goodbye Agent Cutter.” Margaret then hung up, leaving Victor alone with his thoughts and more questions running around in his mind. Two Brains’ boyfriend was explained now, but there were still missing pieces that the agent couldn’t grasp his head around. Why did Adrian Barton willingly expose himself by moving here? Who caused the fire and killed Lanyon Sr.? What was B.E.A.W Labs doing here in Fair City? Victor sighed and leaned back in his chair. He was clutching a quilted blanket that Eris bought for him at a Flea Market sometime ago. Victor frowned with regret. He hadn’t told his boyfriend about what he did. He wasn’t sure he could. @unhingedexperimenter

Though someone this Miss Ito did know Henry Jekyll. Did his brother's new boyfriend get this woman to look into him? If so, why didn't this man just ask Dr.Two-Brains about himself? This raised more questions than it answered. Maybe Henry didn't have the courage to look into his brother after he gave him a little 'friendly' talk. Yet the thinly veiled threats Victor had made shouldn't have been enough to get the teacher looking into Dr.Two-Brains. There was also the fact that Henry had no idea that Victor could find out who was hacking. Perhaps the man was intelligent enough to have the heat on someone else just in case they were found out, but he didn't seem like the type to do so. Especially to someone he had entrusted The Society to. Victor was going to have to get a few agents to take a little trip to check out why they decided to hack like they did. Maybe Robert Lanyon had someone to do with Miss Itos hacking. It would be expected when the man's father had been murdered. Perhaps he wanted to make sure that Henry was safe. Maybe this man was protecting Henry from someone who was threatening him. This could've had the culprit retaliate against the doctor by going after Henry or Robert could be responsible for his own father's murder and for Mr. Carew's attempted murder. The reason both Mr. Hyde and Henry left could be because Robert was threatening one and framing the other. Victor felt a headache coming on. For now, he was going to find out exactly where Robert was. If he wanted to take over The Society, he would've easily done so. Yet he didn't, instead only oversaw important business. He couldn't scratch any of his theories out just yet. He didn't know what was going on, but he was going to find out. He didn't realize that Eris had finally gotten home. He didn't notice the sound of the apartment door opening and closing. “Victor, are you okay? You look like you're stressed about something.” He expressed his concern, brows furrowed. “Eris! I'm fine. I was just overthinking some things.” Eris went over to Victor and placed a kiss on his temple. “Get some rest, my sweet. You'll be able to figure things out better with fresh eyes.” Victor smiled at his boyfriend. “You're right. I'll take a nap. If you'll join me.” Eris smiled at that. He found Victor endearing. The toymaker closed his laptop. Meanwhile in another part of the city, two people were arguing. “Must you stalk these people? I would rather not have the police sniffing around if they take legal action.” The woman shook her head. “It is necessary. I must save that girl from that horrid man. Who knows what he could do to them. I'm doing what is right.” The blond man shook his head. “You admitted that you were interested in our plan.” Calvin frowned at that. “I didn't do anything too crazy. I promise.” Athena muttered under her breath. Athena began to pace a bit. She wanted Dr.Two-Brains to break and admit who he is. “You're making me dizzy, cousin.”

Athena gave a weak glare towards Calvin's rudeness. "You know I can't help it. I haven't been the same after what that demon did to me!" Athena snapped back. Calvin merely huffed. Deep down, he couldn't help but feel some intimidation from the mouse man, especially when he knew what that abomination was capable of. At first, Calvin was shocked to hear what the man did to his cousin. He had always viewed Steven, or Gene, or whatever it called himself, as a sniveling worm with goody moral ethics. He never thought that the man was capable of doing something that heinous, even with his paternal instincts heightened. Things made much more sense to Calvin once he learned of his former coworker's family background. "Very well. Continue with your plans. I have other matters to attend to." Calvin exclaimed in a haughty tone, waving off Athena's anger. Athena gave him a suspicious look. "What are you planning that is more important than my mission?" She inquired. "Well why you have been playing vigilante stalker to a babysitter and her charge, I have been looking into the reason for the Mad Science League's sudden movement here." Calvin explained. Athena looked surprised at that. "Adrian Barton is here?" The B.E.A.W labs' leader has expressed interest in the mysterious Mad Science League. A small group of scientists lead by a self proclaimed immortal man whose made it his mission to fight against tyranny and corruption of the higher classes. Adrian Barton and his associates had proven too slippery for capture due to the man's chaotic and unpredictable movements. Athena was curious and confused as to why he came here of all places. "We don't know why he is here or what business he has, but for some reason he has made himself more open in public though he has maintained a cautious guard. I last saw him talking with Professor Doohickey, though I highly doubt the reason he came to this city was to help the man's predicament." Calvin answered as if he seemed to understand what his cousin was thinking. "Do you think it has something to do with the murder of Mr. Hastie Lanyon?" Athena asked as she recalled hearing about the murder. Calvin shook his head. "I doubt Barton was behind that. He has a clear hatred for the rich and elite, but he would have been more subtle in killing that man, actually making it look like a robbery in progress that went bad. There is another reason why Mr. Barton is here. One in which I intend to find out. So hopefully your antics won't interfere in my mission. Good day Athena." Soon Calvin walked away, leaving the deranged woman to her own thoughts and delusions. "Blimey! Those cleaners know how to clean out goop stains. It looks brand new." Hyde exclaimed in a joyous tone once he received his outfit from Rachel. "Yep. It appears people getting their clothes ruined by goop is a common occurrence around here. So they developed a new way to remove the stains and residue even thought it takes a lot of time. It's definitely well worth it. I must say." Rachel replied with agreement. Hyde ginned widely at his clean outfit. He then looked back towards Rachel. "So, anything happened while ah was gone?" Hyde inquired. Rachel quickly shook her head. "Not really. Like I said, we waited a long time at the cleaners. Also Wordgirl showed up trying to stop a robbery caused by Lady Redundant Woman. She gave a wave to Amber before she flew off. Amber got a little fussy on the way home, but it was likely due to us being out for so long. She's fine now." Rachel explained. Hyde nodded but the usually grinning blonde had a serious expression as he thought back to what happened and what Whiskers admitted to him. "Did Wordgirl seem okay to ye?" Hyde inquired. Rachel looked confused by his question and expression. "She seemed alright to me. Why do you ask?" Rachel was surprised to hear Hyde express genuine concern for anyone that wasn't Amber, herself, or one of the lodgers. Hyde let out a sigh and proceeded to explain what happened today with Two Brains and his sister. @unhingedexperimenter

Medieval au headcanons

-dragons aren't very common. Not like they used to be. There was a time period where some kingdoms sent knights to slay them in fear of being attacked.

-there were still many uncharted lands due to the wild fae and beasts attacking travelers. Many rouges, bandits etc, hide here knowing they won't really be pursued.

-miss heart or as known in this au, lady hearts is either part siren or full siren. If her song is heard then the person falls under her spell. Only few can resist it (i.e. other sirens, mythical creatures and some cursed beings)

-despite dying, the late queen, teresa's spirit is still around. Those who were close to her in life can sometimes speak to her in dreams. Sometimes one can find her spirit wandering the castle. There are paintings and libraries made in her honor

-clayde is almost like a robin hood type villian. He's an excellent archer, sometimes getting distracted by all the cool gems/rocks he finds. After being abandoned in the woods by his birth parents he was found by a family of cobblers. He steals from the greedy unfair nobles and that's how he ran into/reunite with his sister, stealing from the catswells.

-tobey is Calvin's son. However, fearing forbher son's life, Claire took refuge away from her ex-husband and changed her last name. Tobey has no clue who his father is and his mother prefers to keep it that way. he is a tinker and alchemist in training.

-violet is Princess Becky's lady in waiting. She comes from a long line of good witches. Most of their powers come from nature, more so plant based powers. And violet ancestors once had beef with Athena's and eris's ancestors causing some bad blood between the families.

-scoops and rose are the Royal massagers (in training). They help make announcements whenever Becky needs them to. Rose isn't from the kingdom of fair however she and her father had to seek refuge here bc of their home being attacked.

-steven married Carrie when becky was 6 or 7. On the short time (like 2 years) she was around, carrie was basically the princess mother figure. Becky was 9 when her father was cursed. And in current events she is 12

Wonder why two brains would put his crown on his head

I mean aside from him beginning to remember who he is

So I have a rough story idea for that. It involves your art of medieval Carrie and Two Brains meeting. So Calvin sends Carrie to steal the crown. For spitefulness and also thinking he could get something out of it, never does. Calvin does know about Steven being ill but has no idea about his curse. So Carrie steals the crown and gets spotted by one of the guards. In being pursued, Carrie accidentally runs into Two Brains, his first thoughts upon seeing her is to scream in fright so Carrie is able to get pass him. Becky is terribly upset at her dad’s crown being stolen. Even though Two Brains does not like the king, he hates seeing his child upset and thinks that the king charged Becky with the task of keeping an eye on the crown. Not wanting his child to get into trouble with the king and not wanting to see her sad anymore, Two Brains sneaks off with the henchmen and uses a device he created that can track down magical beings such as familiars. Becky becomes the Red Knight to go after her dad and the crown. So Two Brains and the henchmen find Calvin’s castle and sneak in with some reluctance from the henchmen because the castle is scary looking and Calvin is reported to be an evil person. They follow Two Brains anyway because it is their job to watch him. Soon it gets to your artwork where Carrie is still holding the crown because Calvin tells her to dispose of it after failing to do anything important with it. Two Brains, still frightened of Carrie but also feeling a sense of familiarity by her for some reason, begs Carrie to give him the crown back to help his daughter. Carrie is moved by Two Brains’s goal even though she does not trust him yet. Unfortunately Calvin finds them, not wanting to give the crown back again out of spitefulness, conjures a group of ogres to go after Two Brains. Soon Red Knight comes onto the scene and with some hidden help from Carrie, which Calvin is unaware of, Becky, Two Brains, and the Henchmen escape and head back home. Becky kind of chastises her dad and that she was glad he was trying to help but was very worried about him getting hurt. Two Brains explained that he just didn’t want his daughter to be sad anymore and get in trouble with the king. Becky tells her dad that even though he may not like the king, the king’s crown has a lot of important symbolism for the people of this kingdom which is why it is so important. Two Brains understands, he does end up grabbing the crown and trying it on saying he thinks the crown looks better on him than the king. Becky starts tearing up a bit because of sad nostalgia and other personal reasons. Two Brains apologizes and asks why Becky is crying and says he is sorry for making her more upset. Becky reassures her dad that she is just tired after everything and is sad about the king’s illness. Two Brains sighs and says he wishes he can have such a big and kind heart as  his child. To which Becky says silently she learned from the best as they both head back to bed to rest from the adventure.
