Headlines and Perspectives - One shot

Dr. Two Brains blood chilled when he saw what was printed on the morning edition of the Fair City Times. Guilt, torment, and anger coursed through his body. How dare the called her that! Becky wasn't anything like that monster! It wasn't her fault that Miss Crimes was making her commit all that violence and bloodshed. Two Brains let out a sigh, releasing his anger as he noticed how his hands were beginning to crumple and tear up the newspaper. "Besides. The only reason she is dealing with all of this is because of me." Dr. Two Brains mumbled in a guilty tone. He knew this headline will only make people's fear of Miss Crimes even worse. He had to finish the cure quickly before it would be too late. Victor frowned as he silently read the newspaper. Unwanted memories were coming back as he gazed over the words and the information about Miss Crimes printed in the article. "So now you see why I need you on this case Agent Cutter." Margaret spoke in a serious tone to the man as they were both seated in her office at The Agency. Victor let out a sigh. He had done cases like this before, but things were different this time. "She is still a child ma'm." Victor responded, his face bearing an slightly anguished expression. Margaret Fuller's gazed at Victor with a sympathetic look despite still bearing a hardened and serious expression. "I know but we can't have her running around and killing innocent lives anymore. For now I want you to find out more information on Miss Crimes such as he origins, powers, and weaknesses. If there is a way to contain her then do it. If not..." Margaret paused. Victor just grimly nodded. She didn't have to finish that command. Victor knew if he couldn't capture Miss Crimes, then he would have to end her life. Darius smirked with intrigue as he sat in his office. The newspaper from one of his associates who was situated in Fair City looked very promising. He then pressed a button on a device with a speaker. "Miss Lears, please bring in the contact information of Dr. Calvin Barriton and Professor Athena Cartwright to my desk immediately." Darius commanded. "Right away Mr. Brewster." A voice responded. Darius smiled wickedly and went back to reading his paper. "It looks like B.E.A.W labs might get a new bioweapon soon, or some scientists might get a chance to test out their weapons on Miss Crimes. Whichever comes first." Darius mused to himself as he drank his coffee. Archie Webber had a fierce and determined expression as he packed his hero gear up. Dr. Arannae was ready and willing to bring this Miss Crimes to justice. She was going to pay for killing his best friend Jenkins and for crushing Joe's heart. The poor man had called Archie and through tears and anguish told him what happened to Dr. James Jenkins. How Jenkins' mangled remains were found in his lab along with destroyed equipment. Joe had also told him about what was printed in today's newspaper concerning Miss Crimes. "That girl's murderous crime spree ends now." Archie growled as he headed out the door with his gear in tow. His pet spider Fluffy safe at his mom's house. Archie didn't want to imagine what would happen if Miss Crimes got her fiendish claws on his sweet boy.

Rodent Man Au

So this is an idea that is like a Spider-man au but with Steven.

So when Squeaky pressed the button on the mind reading device, instead of fusion, it made Squeaky radioactive. When Steven tried to pick him up, Squeaky bit him So Steven in this au has the powers of a mouse. His hero outfit is his goggles but he also wears a black jumpsuit with yellow outlines. He has a fake prehensile tail to help him catch or trip up bad guys. He also has a belt with gadgets. A mouse logo is printed in the middle of the belt. He wears fingerless gloves to help him move around. He leaps and climbs stuff like a regular mouse. His speed and agility is maxed for an adult mouse. Steven does not have an obsession for cheese but still has a small addiction to it. His hero name is Rodent man. His hero skills come from stealth attacks though he does have some combat skills.

Now while dealing with EVA villains as he helps Wordgirl and Huggy out from time to time. He will also deal with villains that take the place of Spider-man villains in this au.

Okkayyuy guess who had another dream. That Right me/pos This time it was about Carrie. Lol ironically I was thinking about if I should change her backstory a bit. Sooo in my dream right. She actually started off as an intern to this research facility. Her job was simple. To look after the animals they brought in for research. Anyways so one night she forgot her phone or something and rushes back to get it. UnIntentionally overhearing her superiors talking about their experiments. And surprise surprise they're actually evil. Also Bosco (professor tubing's monkey) was there. They were about to experiment on the poor monkey and a few others. They stepped away to do something idk what. My dream never specified. /Gen So Carrie took the moment to try and free the monkeys. However she was only able to free Bosco. Before the scientist came back. So she figured to steal some documents to expose them because got to have proof when it comes to this stuff.

Unfortunately she gets caught. Luckily though, Bosco helps her out a bit and they both escape. There is a scene where she just walks out and her ex colleagues are saying "good night" etc like they normally do to her. Unaware of what's going on. At least until someone makes an announcement that she's escaping.

She steals someone's truck and escapes that way. Uhhh and then there was time skip. She left her parents a note saying she was leaving. And somehow the bad guys never asked her parents where she was at? I mean they had her info

But yeah turns out this why she moved to fair city. It was a quiet town and the people there aren't very bright/gen/pos

Things are pretty much the same as the backstory I had with her currently. The testublar five. Calvin getting exposed. With some minor differences. Like Bosco remembers Carrie. "huh that's strange I don't I know this monkey" Carrie lies. And then when the others aren't looking "thanks bosco"

And why didn't Carrie expose the facility. Well she was going to at first. But when she realized Steven and the rest of the testublar five worked for them she was worried it would backlash on them.

Oh actually she didn't steal some random dudes. Truck. Victor helped her out. He was disguised as a worker. But was actually there to expose them too.

Testubular Five combined with the Mousebraingirl au. What if Steven ran into Calvin and Athena again? How do they respond to what happened with Mouse and Steven's personality change. Tubing and Doohickey were definitely worried and upset for Steven after the accident. Poor Jenkins getting caught in the drama.

Steven was busy with his work, not noticing he had gotten an audience. It was only when his assistant had coughed in an awkward manner, finally getting Steven's attention. The neutral expression on his face turning into a scowl upon noticing who was standing beside him. Just as he thought he was having a rather nice day for once this jerk had to ruin it with his presence. Calvin didn't seem all too thrilled but he wasn't going anywhere until he got what he wanted.

"What is it that you want Calvin? Make it quick, I've got important things to look after. I don't have time to babysit you."

This earned him a glare from the pompous jerk who was once his colleague. Calvin looked as if he wanted to stomp his foot right there and whine like the old days. Before the unfortunate incident that permanently changed his life for the worse. The other scientist took a deep breath before speaking.

"I've come to ask you for a favor. Please come with me before you turn down what I've got to ask you."

That was strange. Calvin swallowing his pride in order to ask for his help? It must be serious enough or he was scheming something. Despite clearly not liking the guy, Steven didn't peg him for the type to scheme like a villain. So it must have been something truly serious otherwise Calvin would rather jump into a volcano than ask him.

"It's not something dumb like you bringing me along in an attempt at showing me up, is it?"

"I wouldn't have come to ask for your help with this if I wanted credit. I'm not going to grovel, if that's what you're thinking."

He seemed to become more irritated but held his tongue.

"Fine. What is this favor you want?" Steven became impatient. He had no desire to deal with petty rivalry at this point.

"I can't seem to get a particular device to work. You are the only one I can trust to be somewhat competent, if I wasn't serious about this I wouldn't ask for help. Especially from you."

Calvin seemed to notice just how much his colleague had changed since the last time they've spoke. He didn't seem to care for it either.

"Alright. I'll see what I can do. Jenkins will come and assist us, I don't want any protests about it either. Another pair of eyes would increase the chance of getting whatever you're working on to actually work."

Jenkins blinked a few times, he wasn't expecting to be volunteered to be apart of this but he didn't want to let Steven go along with Calvin alone so that worked out. He felt something off about this guy. Something about him unsettled Jenkins greatly.

"As long as you do this for me I don't care what you do Boxleitner."

When they arrived in the lab that Calvin had frequently used, the atmosphere seemed off. Steven wasn't bothered by it, simply walking to a machine that seemed to have been worked on recently.

Jenkins stood beside Steven, watching them intently. Calvin has pointed to the part that was apparently stumping him. Making Steven carefully examine the inner workings of the machine.

After a few minutes had passed Jenkins felt his hair stand on its end, they weren't alone anymore. He was suddenly engulfed by darkness. Trapped within a thick viscous substance he couldn't identify. No matter how much Jenkins thrashed and tried to escape he had failed.

Steven had just caught a glimpse of his assistant being swallowed whole by an unidentifiable blob, he felt a stinging pain on his neck. A hand went to where it had hurt, finding a dark stuck there. By the time he processed what had happened he had succumbed to the tranquilizer. Fighting against losing consciousness but he couldn't fight any longer. Falling to the floor with a dull thud. A third figure had came out of hiding, a wicked grin on his face.

Shadow Phoenix Au

So this is a Wordgirl Noir type au which is like the show a bit but also more serious. It includes aged up kid characters 13-15 range, aliens don't exist but there are mutants, metas, and magic, and a lot of serious and somber elements (This is also a revamp of my mutants and metas of fair city au, but I am keeping that au and the side blog up.) Starting with the setting of Fair City. So the government and law enforcement is a lot better than canon. There still is some corruption but mainly with oc characters and not canon characters that I will introduce later on (when I think if them lol). There is not much serious devision like in my mutants and metas au, though there are a few factions. The villains in this au are either, mutant, human, meta, or magical. The magical people will include mythological monsters and magic users. There is a committee called Fair City People Unite or FCPU which is a good clean organization that consists of scientist, law keepers, political figures, and regular citizens. Their job is to keep the laws and regulations of Fair City equal for all citizens and prevent discrimination. They also are in charge of helping police, fire fighters, medical workers, etc. be prepared and ready to deal with all the variety of citizens living in Fair City This organization has many leaders which include the canon mayor who is not mayor in this au. There is also a villain rehabilitation program organized by the FCPU that helps villains serve jobs or community service for minor crimes instead of putting them in jail all the time. (Eris idea for villain rehab) Becky in this au is a 14 year old girl living with her single dad "Steven" and Bob. She is part metahuman and part magical. Along with her canon powers she also has pyrokinetic abilities. the Testubular Five

before Calvin was fired and Athena really went off the deep end. Steven, Tubing, Doohickey, Athena, and Calvin were once known in the science research labs as the Testubular Five (it was the 80s or 90s so that nickname makes sense in this context.) Doohickey and Tubing are the last of the original top scientists and they look at this photo in missing the loss of their friends and colleagues (even Calvin because he wasn't a complete jerk to them, somewhat little civility. Guy has some standards and won't bully those with a disability.) - @ninjastormhawkkat

As part of their work, they had lab animals which they would conduct relativity harmless tests and experiments.

Dr. Two Brains looked surprised at the mention of another of Henry’s old friends. “Do you think this guy could come soon enough from wherever he lives?” The mad scientist asked his boyfriend. “Oh yes he can.” Henry reassured his boyfriend. “Gabriel Utterson moved to a place called Greenstone a while back before the incident with the fire. He told Robert and ah that he was heading there because of some serious legal battles with a lawyer named Corbin Devlin. If ah am correct, then Greenstone isn’t too far from Fair City. So if he isn’t busy, he should help out with the situation e’re.” Henry explained. He didn’t mention how Gabriel told him and Robert that there was some type of conspiracy surrounding Mr. Devlin as he didn’t want his boyfriend to have the wrong interpretation of his friend. Edward thought Utterson was crazy for thinking that Corbin Devlin was a demon just because the man acted like a prick and sleazy lawyer. “So it turns out Calvin Barriton and Athena Cartwright also worked for B.E.A.W Labs.” Margaret remarked as she spoke to Victor on the phone. “Yep, and somehow they pulled certain connections to have that bitch walking free and working back here of all places.” Victor growled. He hated that something like this was pulled right under his and the Agency’s nose. “Don’t beat yourself up over this, Agent Cutter.” Margaret Fuller reassured him. “The B.E.A.W Labs is an incredibly intelligent and stealthy organization. We still don’t know the identity of the C.E.O.” Victor sighed. “You’re right. Also, with Calvin MIA and Athena deceased, we have no leads to the organization. I’m going to talk to Emily later and see if I can dig up something on Gene’s old workplace. I have a feeling that some of his old bosses were bribed or blackmailed by Calvin into taking Athena back. It would explain how they would have access to some of the tech in that abandoned building since it would be difficult smuggling it here without detection.” Victor exclaimed. Margaret nodded on the other line. “Acceptable plan. Also see if you can ask Mr. Barton if he knows anything about B.E.A.W Labs since he and his group have been able to take down a few of their patrons.” Will do, mam” Victor replied. “Also, has there been any progress on the incident with the fire and the murder of Hastie Lanyon Sr.?” “Not there hasn’t unfortunately.” Margaret responded. “According to our techie Ellis, the fire was caused due to a sudden high presence of odorless methane gas yet the heating system and generator attached to the estate was too far damaged in the fire. It is difficult to tell where the gas originated. Also, I have to rule out Mr. Barton as a suspect in the murder of Lanyon Sr. The man is a wildcard but that murder was too reckless and personal. Barton and the Mad Science League have always been able to stay within the shadows and leave not a trace behind unless they want to be found. We can’t rule out any member of Barton’s group for the fire though.” “Do you think Robert Lanyon might have been responsible for his father’s murder? Since you said it was personal.” Victor asked. Margaret was silent for a few minutes before she replied. “We can’t rule him out yet, but we do need a motive. Dr. Jekyll is in the clear since the reason for him coming here was due to his alternate self. Right now focus on Mr. Barton and finding Dr. Barriton. Our other agents will handle the rest of this puzzle. Goodbye Agent Cutter.” Margaret then hung up, leaving Victor alone with his thoughts and more questions running around in his mind. Two Brains’ boyfriend was explained now, but there were still missing pieces that the agent couldn’t grasp his head around. Why did Adrian Barton willingly expose himself by moving here? Who caused the fire and killed Lanyon Sr.? What was B.E.A.W Labs doing here in Fair City? Victor sighed and leaned back in his chair. He was clutching a quilted blanket that Eris bought for him at a Flea Market sometime ago. Victor frowned with regret. He hadn’t told his boyfriend about what he did. He wasn’t sure he could. @unhingedexperimenter

Though someone this Miss Ito did know Henry Jekyll. Did his brother's new boyfriend get this woman to look into him? If so, why didn't this man just ask Dr.Two-Brains about himself? This raised more questions than it answered. Maybe Henry didn't have the courage to look into his brother after he gave him a little 'friendly' talk. Yet the thinly veiled threats Victor had made shouldn't have been enough to get the teacher looking into Dr.Two-Brains. There was also the fact that Henry had no idea that Victor could find out who was hacking. Perhaps the man was intelligent enough to have the heat on someone else just in case they were found out, but he didn't seem like the type to do so. Especially to someone he had entrusted The Society to. Victor was going to have to get a few agents to take a little trip to check out why they decided to hack like they did. Maybe Robert Lanyon had someone to do with Miss Itos hacking. It would be expected when the man's father had been murdered. Perhaps he wanted to make sure that Henry was safe. Maybe this man was protecting Henry from someone who was threatening him. This could've had the culprit retaliate against the doctor by going after Henry or Robert could be responsible for his own father's murder and for Mr. Carew's attempted murder. The reason both Mr. Hyde and Henry left could be because Robert was threatening one and framing the other. Victor felt a headache coming on. For now, he was going to find out exactly where Robert was. If he wanted to take over The Society, he would've easily done so. Yet he didn't, instead only oversaw important business. He couldn't scratch any of his theories out just yet. He didn't know what was going on, but he was going to find out. He didn't realize that Eris had finally gotten home. He didn't notice the sound of the apartment door opening and closing. “Victor, are you okay? You look like you're stressed about something.” He expressed his concern, brows furrowed. “Eris! I'm fine. I was just overthinking some things.” Eris went over to Victor and placed a kiss on his temple. “Get some rest, my sweet. You'll be able to figure things out better with fresh eyes.” Victor smiled at his boyfriend. “You're right. I'll take a nap. If you'll join me.” Eris smiled at that. He found Victor endearing. The toymaker closed his laptop. Meanwhile in another part of the city, two people were arguing. “Must you stalk these people? I would rather not have the police sniffing around if they take legal action.” The woman shook her head. “It is necessary. I must save that girl from that horrid man. Who knows what he could do to them. I'm doing what is right.” The blond man shook his head. “You admitted that you were interested in our plan.” Calvin frowned at that. “I didn't do anything too crazy. I promise.” Athena muttered under her breath. Athena began to pace a bit. She wanted Dr.Two-Brains to break and admit who he is. “You're making me dizzy, cousin.”

Athena gave a weak glare towards Calvin's rudeness. "You know I can't help it. I haven't been the same after what that demon did to me!" Athena snapped back. Calvin merely huffed. Deep down, he couldn't help but feel some intimidation from the mouse man, especially when he knew what that abomination was capable of. At first, Calvin was shocked to hear what the man did to his cousin. He had always viewed Steven, or Gene, or whatever it called himself, as a sniveling worm with goody moral ethics. He never thought that the man was capable of doing something that heinous, even with his paternal instincts heightened. Things made much more sense to Calvin once he learned of his former coworker's family background. "Very well. Continue with your plans. I have other matters to attend to." Calvin exclaimed in a haughty tone, waving off Athena's anger. Athena gave him a suspicious look. "What are you planning that is more important than my mission?" She inquired. "Well why you have been playing vigilante stalker to a babysitter and her charge, I have been looking into the reason for the Mad Science League's sudden movement here." Calvin explained. Athena looked surprised at that. "Adrian Barton is here?" The B.E.A.W labs' leader has expressed interest in the mysterious Mad Science League. A small group of scientists lead by a self proclaimed immortal man whose made it his mission to fight against tyranny and corruption of the higher classes. Adrian Barton and his associates had proven too slippery for capture due to the man's chaotic and unpredictable movements. Athena was curious and confused as to why he came here of all places. "We don't know why he is here or what business he has, but for some reason he has made himself more open in public though he has maintained a cautious guard. I last saw him talking with Professor Doohickey, though I highly doubt the reason he came to this city was to help the man's predicament." Calvin answered as if he seemed to understand what his cousin was thinking. "Do you think it has something to do with the murder of Mr. Hastie Lanyon?" Athena asked as she recalled hearing about the murder. Calvin shook his head. "I doubt Barton was behind that. He has a clear hatred for the rich and elite, but he would have been more subtle in killing that man, actually making it look like a robbery in progress that went bad. There is another reason why Mr. Barton is here. One in which I intend to find out. So hopefully your antics won't interfere in my mission. Good day Athena." Soon Calvin walked away, leaving the deranged woman to her own thoughts and delusions. "Blimey! Those cleaners know how to clean out goop stains. It looks brand new." Hyde exclaimed in a joyous tone once he received his outfit from Rachel. "Yep. It appears people getting their clothes ruined by goop is a common occurrence around here. So they developed a new way to remove the stains and residue even thought it takes a lot of time. It's definitely well worth it. I must say." Rachel replied with agreement. Hyde ginned widely at his clean outfit. He then looked back towards Rachel. "So, anything happened while ah was gone?" Hyde inquired. Rachel quickly shook her head. "Not really. Like I said, we waited a long time at the cleaners. Also Wordgirl showed up trying to stop a robbery caused by Lady Redundant Woman. She gave a wave to Amber before she flew off. Amber got a little fussy on the way home, but it was likely due to us being out for so long. She's fine now." Rachel explained. Hyde nodded but the usually grinning blonde had a serious expression as he thought back to what happened and what Whiskers admitted to him. "Did Wordgirl seem okay to ye?" Hyde inquired. Rachel looked confused by his question and expression. "She seemed alright to me. Why do you ask?" Rachel was surprised to hear Hyde express genuine concern for anyone that wasn't Amber, herself, or one of the lodgers. Hyde let out a sigh and proceeded to explain what happened today with Two Brains and his sister. @unhingedexperimenter

Oh yes I love that idea. Here are my suggestions.

Steven taking Shaggy's role but instead of coward he is the one with the common sense of the group to try and avoid dangerous locations. Of course he ends up being dragged in there due to his alien feral daughter escaping into these haunted places being chased by her monkey babysitter Bob. They both share Scooby's role with Bob being the running and fear part of Scooby Doo.

Teresa and Carrie share Velma and Daphne's role from time to time. Amazo Guy takes Fred's role.
