a simply gorgeous White Album arrange album from my current second favorite doujin circle, effy sound team. not the most unique thing in the world, but so peaceful and happy.

track 3 (WinterVacation) is especially my favorite - everyone knows i love doujin songs with vocals. this song has sort of a 90s synthpop vibe.

the rest of the songs vary quite a bit, with influences from lounge, new age, and jazz.

this album, like their other album forget me not, comes with a ton of extras! one of which is a sort of index document that links and categorizes some of the extras like the cd booklet, liner notes, and comments from the staff.

I see people getting real worried about loss of information on specific topics if Reddit were to go down and the only thing I can think about is how the internet as a whole failed to keep forums alive.

I get it, losing stuff sucks, but all the people who used/hosted forums have been sayin this shit for years and eons which is why we try to make it a point either archive important stuff or keep it hosted in multiple places. Open source and the such.

Idk, maybe Reddit shouldn't have been one of the many sites replacing forums. Maybe the inernet could have made it a point to make specific topics hosted in places that are searchable via browsers and not be entirely reliant on a service from a private business. Maybe people shouldn't be hiding information behind chatrooms/twitter threads. Maybe more people should care about actually utilizing Internet Archive or seriously filling out wikis and the such. Idk.

I think I will genuinely never ever recover from the song in Q where kosuzu says that her heart is so captured so enraptured so easily stolen by mysteries and in the same breath she asks (the memory of) akyuu if it's okay to turn her into a mystery too. like the emotional damage I get listening to this right after the song where akyuu says please let me have this fantasy where you love me so much that you steal my fate away from me and end me yourself and please let it stay just a fantasy. a mystery forever..... the damage . it's immeasurable

I must say while it isn't technically wrong nothing could have prepared me for seeing an old album I was looking up listed on a foreign site as "doujin works" right next to SiivaGunner compilations

Happy anniversary, Undertale!

Before Undertale released, Toby Fox was most known for his music contributions for projects like Homestuck, alongside independent doujin work such as tribute albums. In 2011, in response to jokey feedback saying that much of his music sounded like Touhou music, Toby shared an audio recording of him playing "improvised" Touhou music (audio above) on piano, with commentary paired alongside it. As part of this commentary, he dubbed the boss fight theme "AN APPLE DISASTER!", and declared the theme to belong to the original character "Apple Girlington".

4 years later, just after Undertale's release, soon-to-be SiIvaGunner ripper and Touhou specialist Princess Sylvysprit released an arrangement of this made-up boss theme arranged in the authentic style of ZUN's Touhou music. As you can see, this rearrangement was directly seen and endorsed by Toby Fox!

You can also hear a remastered version of this arrangement on her 2019 album, Touhou: Fraternity of Melancholy, the audio for which is linked above.

Princess Sylvysprit has made an incredible amount of tributes to Touhou and its music in her time online, both for her own projects and others', including the SiIvaGunner channel which she joined in early 2016.
