to get the most of out ot3s you have to consider that they consist of smaller 2 person subdynamics where the third person is always in a weird and fucked up position of being a permanent voyeur to an interpersonal dynamic they are privy to but never a fully participant in. that whatever u have with them its not the same as what they have with each other, in a way thats equally intimate and alienating. yeah a throuple is fun when its a couple and their third but in an ideal world per 1 threesome you should be getting three somewhat volatile couples with their own dedicated third. and i think yoohankim #gets that.

it's odd to say but i think of dimitri -- especially post-canon -- as a type of hedonist?

not so much on his own behalf, where he remains lost in the self-punishing asceticism sauce, but when it comes to the people he cares about, there's this blank-faced autistic approach of ... if it's not hurting anyone, why shouldn't you? why shouldn't you seek out pleasure? why deny yourself, when there's no harm in it? shouldn't people be free to do the things that make them happy?

(of course dimitri isn't people -- dimitri's a monster and a blight upon this earth and only in suffering can he atone for the crime of his existence -- but real people should be happy)

mobius double reacharound.. explained!

got the idea to write this from a friends bulletin post on spacehey, asking what mobius double reacharound was, so ty for the inspiration!!

MDR

mobius double reacharound (MDR) is in summary, the stable time loop of the infinite creation of the trolls' and kids' sessions and universes, over and over. specifically, the term is more often used to describe the trolls' session.

when the trolls start out in sgrub, they believe the goal is to be split into 2 teams and compete for who will win/finish their session first. later, its discovered the 2 teams were 1, and they must learn to work together to not die, and create a new universe.

the term "mobius" is coined from a "mobius strip", which is a sheet that at first looks like its made up of 2 sides, but running a finger over it reveals its actually just one! basically, a physical version of what the trolls went through.

the MDR virus

the mobius double reacharound virus is also another really interesting & detailed topic i want to explain, and it really ties the whole mobius theme with the 2 universes together nicely!

sollux, an expert in the programming language ~ATH (used on both alternia & earth) coded the virus for fun.

universe 1 & universe 2 are both imported. the first universe starts a method executing the second universe's method, which both inexplicably overlap. then, the 2 universes die.

basically, the 2 universes are the trolls' and the kids'. the program connects these 2 universes and causes them to forever be cursed yet the most stable time loop, creating and destroying eachother endlessly.

didnt wanna put this in the prev tags of the last posts but like. the whole egg subconscious desire to transition getting translated into fiction is sooooo funny. when i did homestuck rp at age 15 i was obsessed with this dystopian au based off i think some music video where society kept the gender roles of the 1950s and to rebel our characters would like sneak make up into the boys' dormitory or teaching girls how to box in underground rings even with the pearls still around their necks and the entire time i was like aha imagine having to live in a world where you're trapped by the gender roles you were born into! thank god I don't live like that <- about to learn some things about himself in 2-3 years

so! got one of those classic underwater lands. I had stuff on-hand for it, it's become a bit of a habit to get myself later into the entry chain so i can alchemize protective equipment, but it was still very much a THING when someone hopped over to my Land while I was putting my oxygen tanks on my back. any tips for this sort of thing if it happens again? i've since told everyone else to have a way to breathe underwater if they come here, but i guess i've just got to tell everyone before my Entry to not visit until i give the all-clear, in future sessions. in retrospect making sure im ready for any given situation i can prepare for before entry is probably causing all the batshit lands i keep getting. having easy movement in a three dimensional space is useful, though.

Land Hazards are a bit interesting in that the game will always "just so happen" to negate said hazard for the owner of the Land, at least initially. For example, some Lands are soaked in toxic gas, but "coincidentally" such Lands will only be given to a Doom player (who can breathe that shit naturally) or to someone who already has a gas mask in their possession. Of course, from that point on the player is responsible for getting a proper oxygen supply, or avoiding stuff like "super-toxins" which Doom players arbitrarily cannot breathe (it's just a bullshit railroad so they can have a Land Quest) or stuff like water vortexes and learning how to actually swim. Meaning that even if you didn't make a habit of always being prepared, you would have still entered the game clutching a scuba tank through some contrived series of events. Not that it's a useless habit of course. Better safe than sorry.

But I'm getting ahead of myself. The other players are in fact not immune to Land Hazards. I would say "yes indeed, warn them not to enter your Land before you actually enter"... Except, I think that guy just might be stupid? Even if we assume your Land was not underwater, which really can't be predicted, your Land does not *exist* until Entry. It takes at least the second Gate to enter another Player's Land, which means this guy was speedrunning his head off, and almost literally lost his head, if not to the water then to getting teleporting into ass-end nowhere The Medium, and then getting fragged into paste when an entire planet manifests at his current location. Assuming the Gate would even work.

Rule of thumb, only start traveling to other Lands once everyone's confirmed to have entered. Not only do you avoid situations like the above, you also make sure that you aren't off getting hassled by Consorts while someone is screaming their head off asking for their Server Player to pretty please deploy the Alchemiter so they can stop dying. Do this even if shit goes sideways and it takes one of the players half of the Session to even enter their Land. It's just unprofessional otherwise.

i want. to try and coin a term for transmascs (+ maybe cis women? idk if theyd be interested) with vaginismus whose gender identity therefore feels intrinsically tied to transfemininity. bc i know i cant be the only one whose wires got tied up by that whole situation. and like afaik vaginismus doesnt count as intersex since its not really an "inbetween" thing so much as just An Orifice Not Working As Intended so i dont feel comfortable using that myself but i also like. idk feel like there does need to be a word for it
