I hear a lot of people in the Life Series fandom rank Double Life as the worst season, not because it was bad but because not a lot of significance happened in it.

I understand this point, however it should be noted:

Everything going on between Joel and Etho in Hermitcraft s10 rn would not have happened if it wasn’t for Double Life.

There’s definitely more than this, but I think this is a really relevant thing to remember. These two would have likely never had anything to do with one another if it wasn’t for being randomly paired up in Double Life.

I just think it’s important to remember how each season had its own significant impact to the creators and the outside smps, and that’s something really neat 😊.

Joel. Joel Joel Joel Joel Joel. Double Life. They were soulmates. Decked out 2 stream, the neck kisses bit. The obsessed bit between them on hermitcraft. The neck kisses playlist made by the real Joel, along with a second playlist related to it, which both still are actively updated.

To put it simply, YouTube is Etho’s bitch. YouTube is happy with this arrangement, clearly. It has commented on so many of Etho’s videos man. Etho is a YouTube og, he is one of the platform’s favorites.

Currently thinking about boat boys and how poetic their death was. Joel and Etho, burned by the very fire that gave them life.

“the ship burns, everything burns” and they burned too

Joel and Etho got on like a house on fire and that’s both in the metaphorical and literal sense. Etho was the gasoline and Joel was the match. Their moves weren’t normally calculated, Joel’s rage burns hot and it always has. He’s always loved to burn things and almost always ended up burning with them.

Etho didn’t necessarily know what he was getting into but he didn’t make moves to stop it. He fueled Joel’s fire and let it feed his own. Too much of it and he burned up, they both did, literally. Their actions are what led to their death. Too much rage and it’ll find a way to burn you somehow.

Anyway, i just think they’re tragic and poetic and everything.
