Marina Yuszczuk || Thirst (La Sed / Dorst)
A few months ago I received a mail from a Dutch publisher asking if I was interested in reading one of the novels Atlas Contact was about to publish. A novel by an Argentinian author, about a vampire. If I had encountered this novel in a bookshop I would probably not have given it any attention. Being asked to read it I said to myself ‘why not? Broaden your horizon!’. So I read Thirst by Marina…

Day 3 of reading S by J.J. Abrams/Doug Dorst:
SPOILERS AHEAD
I've finished the actual text of the novel by V.M. Straka, which was a slog not gonna lie. It's got so much mystery to it that I find it frustrating, and it annoys me that the main character doesn't complete either of his two missions (figuring out who he was and killing Vévoda).
Wish me luck for the first wave of marginalia!

Okay my favourite thing about S so far, from a realism standpoint, is Jen starts out writing in ballpoint and it looks awful so when she switches to a fountain pen there's a drastic improvement in her handwriting. (They even mimic shading ink)
Seriously people (right handed ones anyway), fountain pens really help. You don't need to apply pressure like a ballpoint and the ink flow helps smooth the letters out.

I'm reading S. by Doug Dorst and J. J. Abrams (it's delightful so far, and I highly recommend it), and the inserts keep slipping out of the pages that I've already read, and I want to put them back in the right spot, but I don't know what it is, pls send help
