Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 Sexyman Poll Round 1 - Information and Matchup List
HOW DOES THIS WORK? At the beginning of each round all contenders are randomized into a list. Why? Because I like randomizing things and it's sexier than brackets. The first poll is going to be 1 day long because I didn't know about the 1 week option but the second round might be longer depending on how this goes. WHAT ABOUT BG3? I want to give the characters from the original two games space to shine and you and I both know the second BG3 is in the mix this turns into an Astarion sweep. Besides I'd kind of like to hold off on doing a BG3 poll until we have the full game. I'M JUST HERE FOR THE QUOTES DAMMIT!
No problem! All sexyman poll-related posts are tagged with both "baldur's gate sexyman poll 2023" and "not a quote" so they can easily be filtered out and you can get back to giggling at incorrect quotes.
Hope y'all have fun with this!

Okay besties!!! I love the vibe we have going in here. Might I also throw in my two cents because regarding the whole Rhaegar / Lyanna thing, I have some thoughts as well?
So... I think that no matter how you slice it, it could never and would never have worked out. Not only was Lyanna a child (older than say Dany when she was sold to Drogo yet still a child) but also Rhaegar never treated her as an equal.
I find it very hard to believe that the She- wolf, Lyanna Stark herself, the Knight of the Laughing Tree, the girl that was so head strong that Ned is reminded of her when seeing Arya train with Syrio, the same girl that so earnestly and gently was moved by Rhaegar's sad songs at Harenhall, that she would be on board with fulfilling some grand prophesy.
Because the good version of events is that Rhaegar was forthcoming about the prophecy. He was the Heir, he was slowly and under the table making moves to remove Aerys from the throne and since his youth he was conceived that he could recreate the three heads of the dragon. (being born during a horrific accident that leaves almost everyone dead and was maybe caused by your grandfather in an attempt to revive dragons will mess you up I guess)
So when Elia could no longer safely give him that third child he looked elsewhere.
The bad version, and one that I am mote inclined to believe is that Rhaegar didn't tell Lyanna of the prophecy. He was sent to find the Knight of the Laughing Tree, he found her in the God's Eye and that's how the mess started. Lyanna was already infatuated with him (iirc the grand feast had been the night before and that's when she'd heard him sing)
In addition to that, he was the Prince and the Heir. You don't have to be Cersei to get blinded by that.
The whole dynamic was completely off. Rhaegar knew what he was doing. He knew the consequences and that's why he took her and kept her at the tower of Joy, otherwise he'd just have a bastard, or keep her as a paramour. But he knew how outrageous something like that would be.
He had an opportunity to "give" Lyanna back and he didn't.
Instead he started a war that ended with the brutal rape and murder of Elia and his already existing babies and poor teenage Lyanna all alone in Dorne.
Idk what Elia knew or though or didn't think but i believe that GRRM means for us to be very suspicious of R+L.
Besides throughout his book despite insisting upon the very young age of his characters (mainly girls) when being introduced to sexual situations the narrative always condemns them. For more thoughts on this let me suggest this video
ht tps: //youtu . be/QnYa0zSDl7o by Hill's Alive. It's her thoughts on this exact topic and I thing she makes some valid points.
Targaryen men and their prophecies and their ease to cast away their living children in favour of more future kids. The only thing that can bring the fall of the house of the dragon is the delusion of some of their Kings istg.
In the end no matter what one's thoughts on the R+L thing is (All opinions are valid and respected 🖤🖤 let's allow room for everyone) we can all joyfully be united under our hatred and rage over Aegon being Jon's name in the show. Rhaegar already had an Aegon! He was going for a Visenya!!! D&D kind of forgot about that i guess.
(besides aegon is so basic couldn't they do sth sexier? Side eye)
bestie you just do not miss
because whether you believe rhaegar to be a master manipulator (i am somewhat inclined towards that,,, growing up as the crown prince knowing you will probably have to usurp your father,,, you're not unaware of the moves you have to make) or not, there is something inherently unsettling about the way he approaches lyanna
his tragic background also indicates he had to grow up faster, should be mature enough to know exactly what he was doing!! (also that art piece released recently from the calendar i think with rhaegar and lyanna on the cover,,, the vibes are haunting which is very interesting to me)
and i think it's just like a man like rhaegar to think he is this savior and be determined to fulfill a prophecy that actually has far-reaching horrific implications on everyone around him with zero regards for the consequences (especially to the women,,, his wife is raped and murdered, his daughter is murdered, lyanna is left to die alone in childbirth, his mother is alone on dragonstone giving birth to his sister in terrifying conditions)
THAT VIDEO DOES NOT MISS, i think at the very least thinking critically about how and why it's presented like that is important
and all opinions and interpretations and shipping are respected in this house bc fandom and media is a very safe place to explore ideas and kinks and fantasies and i am a staunch supporter of rights and wrongs both being fun and important while also being aware there are implications and critical thinking to do at the same time
for real, i think a consistent theme is the hubris of men (particularly targ men: daemon, aemond, maegor, aegon I, etc) being their inevitable downfall LIKE WE GET IT YOU'RE HOT AND SPECIAL BUT PLS HAVE SOME NUANCE AND CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
and i feel connected in this chilis tonight over rage for how D&D just gave up on any critical thinking about some of the more difficult concepts in the end, i know it's hard to give any targaryen a better name than aegon but sweaties i can think of at least 4 off the top of my head:')
EXACTLY HE NEEDED A WARRIOR PLS
(also this is just my pure want thing here is that if he's trying to recreate the 3 heads of the dragon, the third head should be a hot warrior woman,,, jon snow eat rocks give me a dark magic queen instead)

Guys could you IMAGINE how awesome (and gratuitously nerdy) it would be if there were Klingon and Vulcan dubs (or AT LEAST subtitles!) of the Star Trek shows and movies?
I mean GalaxyQuest kind of did that as a joke with the squid people language but could you imagine how awesome that would sound with actual canon Star Trek languages???
Imagine if Leonard Nimoy was still alive and we got to hear him say ALL his lines in Vulcan?! (Personally I think the “I object to you” speech from Squire of Gothos would sound even sexier in Vulcan.)
Or Michael Dorn getting to do ALL of his lines in Klingon?! (Knowing him he’d probably be 100% down for that if asked and tbh I love him for it.)
I’d be frothing at the mouth!
Filing that in the “projects I may someday attempt just for fun cuz I’m a big fat nerd” category of my brain.

Björn Ironside || Love Alphabet
Tumblr media
A = Affection (PDA, what sort of affection they give)
Bjorn motions his arm out to you, saying little with words, but looking to you with his sharp eyes.
Like with many things, he’s not shy. But he’s also not someone who will go overboard with his affection. He enjoys being sparse about it and seeing if you’ll press him for more. Holding your arm in public, laying kisses on your lips or otherwise. He lets you make a scene if you want more, though.
B = Babies (Anything you want about babies)
“If you want them.” He says, turning down his head. “I will be happy to give them.”
If you want them, he’ll give them. He’s a well-bred man but takes great pride in his line. As a busy man, he doesn’t often get the pleasure of being there to raise them as much as he wants. So he soaks in the moments that he can with your pregnant belly.
C = Cuddles (How they cuddle or are cuddled)
“Don’t go just yet.” Bjorn verbalizes his complaints when you want to leave, but before, well he won’t open his lips.
Lazily. Bjorn prefers to hold his woman on his chest, raise his hand to her back and keep her on top of them. Sometimes he’ll raise her leg over his, stroking over normally covered skin until he decides to be a little playful.
D = Darling  (Pet names)
“(Y/N), come here.”
He’s not a very large user of pet names. He prefers to call you your own name. Though it might just be something that was taught to him through the guidance of Lagertha and Ragnar, later by Princess Aslaug.
Tumblr media
E = Enamored (how hard do they fall when in love)
“I’m...” He mutters, looking around the room to avoid eye contact. He doesn’t say it, what’s on his mind, and you have to push him along to admit it.
Carefully. Bjorn has done the hard fall in love before-- he doesn’t like it. Not because it wasn’t good while it lasted, but that’s just it. It didn’t last. He’s squeamish to fall hard in love and so he does so carefully until he’s more confident that this good thing won’t blow up in his face.
F = Firsts (A first on anything you pick)
“I’ve had better ideas.”
The first kiss is a dare from his drunk brothers to go and kiss a random shieldmaiden. After all, who can deny Bjorn Ironside? Tell that to his public humiliation of being slapped. He could get retribution, but, he did get a blowjob out of it.
G = Good Morning (How do they wake you up)
Silently slipping his hand up your underdress to awaken you from your slumber.
One of two ways. Either leaving you in bed to sneak off and do what he has to do-- or, opening you up under his fingers with plenty of warming up done beforehand. He finds it amusing how you squirm under him.
H = Hugs (Do they like hugs?)
“Hugs?” He jerks his head back, eyes big and bright. “Why would you give me a  hug, hm?”
With his brothers and father, maybe. It strikes him as strange if you ask him for a hug. Nonetheless, he’ll give it to you with a little bit of a confused furrow in his eyebrows.
Tumblr media
I = In Labor (Labour and Delivery)
On the standby. He’s not exactly squeamish to birth. He’s seen it before with Porunn and Torvi. As someone who grew up with a host of siblings, he thinks that you can handle it. If something goes awry though, he might inject himself carefully into the situation by getting his mother.
J = Jealousy (Are they jealous? How do they handle it?)
“And who was that?”
Tons of glaring. Bjorn isn’t really afraid to approach someone that he finds to be a threat. More often then not, he’ll do something about it in front of anyone that is around. He’s not shy. He’s Bjorn Ironside-- and the gods love him.
K = Kisses (How do they kiss? How often?)
He enjoys cornering you for kisses.
Despite what you might think, he does kiss his woman more than anyone might think! It’s a bit of foreplay for him, getting you warmed up is all a fun part of the game.
L = Loyal (How loyal are they?)
“I have a... bad reputation.” Bjorn reasons. He abandoned Torvi, so of course, you might worry about the same. “But that is not me.”
He knows he has a bad reputation for being a man who wanders bed to bed-- but it wasn’t always this way. When he finds someone he’s truly in love with, he has no true reason to wander. There are other ambitions than sex, after all.
Tumblr media
M = Memory (Their favourite memory about you?)
Giving birth. Yeah, he knows that most men would be terrified to admit such a favourite memory like this. For Bjorn, there’s nothing more beautiful than a maiden becoming a mother.
N = Never! (Dealbreakers)
“How could you side with my uncle?”
Betrayal. He can’t handle someone that will lie to his face or side against him and his family.
O = On the Rocks (How do they make up?)
Usually letting things go to shit, he swears this time will be different.
He sits on the side of the bed and waits. He’s not necessarily one that apologizes often. But, if he thinks he’s done something wrong, he will. The last thing he wants to model for his children is how to be a shitty father. Though, he has a feeling he already is.
P = Playtime (Any headcanons on sex)
Standing up is his favourite position. Bjorn loves throwing his size around. There’s nothing sexier to him than shoving you up against the wall and taking you there where you stand.
Tumblr media
Q = Quiet Time (How do they wind down?)
“Have I told you of the thresher?” He bounces his son on his lap.
Telling stories. It travels far back to when his family was still together. Lagertha and Ragnar, his mother and father, telling him stories of Odin and the gods. Being special enough that these stories were the only thing he had to worry about.
R = Rapture (What makes them happy?)
“Do you want to be king one day?”
Being king makes him happy, but nothing is as special to him as having his child on his lap while he sits in the very same throne that his father sat.
S = Soulmate (What do they think of soulmates?)
“Is this a Christian belief?”
Skeptical. He’s seen the love between his mother and father-- but also saw the hand the gods gave them. He’s seen the love between his father and Athelstan, and saw the same. Maybe he believes them, but he thinks if he believes in soulmates, the gods will tear you apart. It’s better not to give it a name.
Tumblr media
T = Together (What do you like to do together?)
Raiding. It’s the ultimate bonding experience for him. But, if you don’t fancy the life of a shieldmaiden, he enjoys storytelling under the stars. Lazing about and talking about the gods. Watching you grow with children and recounting to you the creation of the world to your stomach.
U = Unyielding (How do they handle interlopers on the relationship?)
“Stay out of my way. I have no issue making scarce of you.”
Not well. Bjorn is the type to make his presence known and to also make them as small and irrelevant as he can. He’s territorial. He’s known to get into fights with others. This often means trouble and more scars to add to the count.
V = Vulnerable (Are they vulnerable often? How do they handle it?)
Heavy huffs, uncertain eyes and a tongue that almost feels tied.
No. No, no, no. The more vulnerable he is, the softer he takes it to mean. Being soft in the past has not gotten him far. His father hated it, his mother hated it. The only one who didn’t... Queen Aslaug. And so, he decides that he can’t have anyone see it unless they’re absolutely going to stay.
Tumblr media
W = Wedding (Wedding headcanons)
Something small and private. He’ll invite his brothers, perhaps his mother if she isn’t busy. Otherwise, he enjoys small private ceremonies where he can feel comfortable enough to let loose.
X = (E)x (How do they handle exes? What do they do if they see them)
“Who was that one looking at you?” He says, scrunching his nose.
With a level head. His feelings have been buried. What’s done is done, the only issue he has is raising his children with you. Sometimes that might mean a few snide comments that he often throws his hands up about.
Y = Yearning (What do they do when they miss you?)
Never admits it!
Fondles a small hammer of Thor that you gave your big, strong man. You blessed it yourself. He’ll look out over the sea and count the moments until he gets back into your arms.
Z = Zzz… (Sleeping headcanons)
Bjorn loves to drag his fingers across your back, swirling them softly while you sleep. He sleeps better knowing you’re by his side-- loyal and truthful to him. While he can’t say that he sleeps peacefully all of the time, after an hour of you being asleep, he’ll finally allow himself some rest.
