You don’t notice Dorian watching you, despite the fact that he finds himself doing it a Lot. He’s not trying to, of course, but you burst into giggles with Fearne, hand half-covering your face and Dorian can’t wrench his gaze from you.

Chetney jabs him in the side.

“Ow!” Dorian jumps. “What was that for?”

“Quite going googly-eyed over them. Just go talk to them.” Cheney huffs. “It’s disgusting.”

Dorian makes some flippant comment at Chetney, waving him off. You glanced up and caught his gaze, your grin growing wider.

“Dorian!” You wave him over from the other side of the tavern and of course he joins you, how could he not? (Chetney is grumbling and rolling his eyes behind him).

“Darlings.” Dorian greets both you and Fearne. It’s easier to be flirty when it’s not just you. “To what do I owe the pleasure?”

“Fearne said you knew this really fancy dance! You did it at the party I missed, apparently. I didn’t know you danced!” You babbled at him a bit, grinning at him.

“And very well too.” Fearne added, throwing him a wink.

“Ah, well, I don’t think I was that good at it.” Dorian waved the compliment away, fighting a blush.

“You were!” Fearne insisted. “Oh! How abouts you two dance? Dorian can show off his moves!”

“There’s not even a band, Fearne!” You widened your eyes at her, trying to silently communicate to her to chill out. Of all the people to figure out about your crush.

“And there’s really not enough room.” Dorian added. He rubbed at the back of his neck, looking anywhere but at you. Fearne pouted before a mischievous smile uncurled across her face.

“Just a moment.” She got up and trotted up to the barkeep, who was uninterested until Fearne set down some gold coins. The man counted them then shrugged, going over to two guys hanging around in a corner table. They had instruments.

“Tell me she didn’t”. Dorian stage whispered. The two guys went to the little raised platform in the tavern and started tuning their instruments.

“I think she did.” You reply.

Fearne walks back to you two, smiling widely. The barkeep was moving some tables to make a space for dancing. At least some of the other patrons seemed interested too.

“There! Music and room to dance!” She sat back down beside you and rested her chin on her hand, grinning.

“Fearne-“ Dorian tried to say, but the two men started playing and another couple of people got up to dance. Fearne waved her hand at you two.

“Go on, shoo!”

“Well, might as well take this opportunity, hmm?” You sigh as you stand, giving Dorian a half smile. “I’ll try not to step on your feet too much.”

“I would be honored for you to step on me.” Dorian joked, giving you a half bow as he held his hand out to you. Fearne snorted a laugh behind him and he shit her a quick, half-hearted glare, even as his skin turned a slightly darker blue.

You weren’t particularly a skillful dancer. It didn’t help that you didn’t know the ‘fancy dance’ Dorian was trying to lead you through. You were stumbling over his feet and your own, hands holding onto him with a vice grip. But you were grinning and laughing and everyone once in a while you leaned forward, hiding your face in his shoulder.

And Dorian was thankful that the dance was ingrained in him because he was absolutely stunned by you. You were glowing and there were stars in your eyes and Dorian had never loved you more.

i’ve seen people talking about a potential dorym wedding one-shot in zephrah, and while i hear you and agree that that would be really beautiful and romantic, i propose: dorym wedding one-shot at the silken squall. think about it.

cause personally, i’m just dying to see that place and what better time to than their only prince’s wedding. and with that added fact that outsiders or non-air genasi aren’t quite welcome or common to see inside the walls of the squall, unless they’re invited by the wyvernwinds themselves. imagine some sort of mix up happens which leads to the rest of bells hells trying to convince the guards that “we’re friends with prince brontë and his future husband, i pROMISE!!!” and no one believes them and thinks they’re just there to crash the royal wedding

I was watching clips of Critical Role in celebration of 10 years and came to the realization that Imogen doesn’t have a ring! She has a pendant with Laudna’s blood, but no ring!

So here is what I’m petitioning for… a One Shot where Laudna wants to hunt down the perfect ring for Imogen. Ashton and Chetney can help her pick out the perfect ring, Orym and Dorian run distraction on Imogen, and Fearne and Braius set up a place for VOW RENEWALS! That’s right it’s a Vow Renewal One Shot Baby!!!!!

God, not that anyone cares, but I might have to take a break from the cr fandom whenever Dorian speaks about or to the gods. The moment Dorian isn't some goody-two-shoes character and veers off from being an "agreeable" character to many...how easily these ppl just write him off as some stupid simpleton. Jfc from discord to Tumblr (don't know what twitter thinks since I don't frequent that place or live chat because when is live chat ever appeased).

Anyways, I'm excited to see what comes from this conversation with the AH. Cmiiw but I don't think Dorian knows you have to be an exalted ruidusborn to be a vessel. If he did, he wouldn't willynilly agree to sacrifice Fearne or Imogen. It's like a lot of you forgot one of his core values: his friends/loved ones above everyone else. He casted force cage on Fearne in the very same episode to protect her.

I think Dorian knows Orym is in love with him. I don't think it is a great unknown. He's not biting his nails wondering if Orym feels the same way as him.

I think the problem is that Dorian doesn't know how to approach it at all. For so many reasons. There are so many reasons why Dorian has been keeping all of this close to his chest.

First and foremost I think he wants to be respectful of Will and the place he holds in Orym's heart. Dorian in no way would blame Orym for never moving on. He'd be sad and disappointed but he'd understand. And he understands that he's still mourning Will. So he doesn't want to initiate something Orym isn't ready for.

Second, they're in the middle of a war. There isn't time for this. There isn't time for dead brothers and profound crushes. How could he distract Orym from the world ending? He's their little tank. He's their tactician. He's can get his hard and throw it back just as easily. They need his head clear. And I don't think Dorian would ever forgive himself if something were to happen because Orym was too preoccupied.

Third, is speculative, with the context Robbie has given us, marrying a man would not go over well in the royal family. Not because they're particularly homophobic. But, assuming they're both cis, (headcanons aside, I don't think critical role is there yet), the blood line would end. And royal families are big on lines of succession. Hence Zeru begging Dorian to come back. So I'm not sure adopting is in the realm of possibilities. How could Dorian let Orym love him? How could he give into his feelings? How could they live happily ever after when Dorian needs to go back home? Sit on a throne? Produce an heir and a spare? He couldn't possibly start something with him only for it to end in tragedy. He couldn't do that to Oym.

There are probably more reasons for all this but these are the ones that swim in my head the most. And idk I think Dorian wants to love Orym loudly and proudly but... The world is ending, ya know?
