Hello! This is a canon call, I am an Aranea Serket fictive/introject. The 8ody is a minor so it’d 8e 8est if minors only. I won’t exactly reme8er my time in Sbur8 well, 8ut I have a few faint memories.

First of all, I was from a timeline very similar to canon. I think we all reached god tier 8ut didn’t like wearing the costume. I think I might’ve had a flushed relationship with Kankri? Possi8le moriallegiance with Meenah. I don’t exactly reme8er, but I know we were closer to each other than with the others. We got to watch over Alternia, we got as far as starting with Jake, Dirk, Roxy and Jane.

Then our timeline 8ecame doomend, I don’t know why. I can’t reme8er. I ended up joining another Meenah, a Vriska and some others (I think there was a Nepeta, I don’t remem8er who else) in a ship. We spent a lot of time together and I really miss them.

During the game I would wear my normal clothes 8ut I’d keep my hair in a low messy ponytail. After learning a8out Marquise Spinneret Mindfang I dressed exactly like her until I ended up in this 8ody. Including my time in dream 8u88les and on the 8oat.

I don’t mind taking to a kin or another fictive. I’m just feeling very alone and disoriented and I would like to talk to anyone. Especially if you’re Meenah, Vriska or Kankri. They’re who I was closest to and I would like to try sorting out my possi8le flushed feelings for Kankri. Anybody is fine though!!!!!!!!

Since reading the lord of the Rings I keep on wondering why my favourite characters in the book happens to be the Steward family. Why Boromir, Faramir and yes, also Denethor of all the many characters?

At first I wondered if it is because I am boring. I am usually not much of a fantasy fan I must admit, was that why I preferred ordinairy humans to the more phantastical elves, dwarves, hobbits and wizards?

But then it occured to me. I think the reason I get so invested in these three Gondorians is that they fit to my love for Shakespeare. Because all of them, but Boromir and Denethor especially, embody the tragic heroes of Shakespeare plays: The heroes that could have been good, even great persons, if fate had been a bit kinder, if they had not taken this or that wrong turn. Boromir was a great soldier, a loving brother and faithful son. He was intelligent, caring and loyal. In kinder times he could have made a remarkable Steward under whom Gondor could have flourished. But fate had it so, that in his despair and desire to protect his country and turn certain doom to glorious victory he succumbed to the fatal flaw in his character: Pride Pride, which combined with his desperation made him vulnerable for the ring, resulting in his death and the failure of the fellowship he had vowed to protect.

Denethor is pretty similar to Boromir in this way. Despite being cold and calculating he has been an outstanding steward, fighting back Mordor's forces over and over again trying to preotect his country. Despite having lost his beloved wife to the forces of Sauron in a way he doesn't hesitate to ready his sons for the fight too- andwe all see what this costs him eventually. His downfall is again his pride as well as his deaperation which drive him to use the palantir, believing he will be able to control it. I don't even think he was really mad in the end, just broken, desperate and deceived. He was convinced that doom was imminent. He was sure his country would fall. He was still just accepting that Boromir was dead and had to cope with the fact that by his order Faramir was so grieviously wounded and would soon die too. And that their last words were not friendly, not a blessing for battle, but cold. Had he not been so proud to believe he may govern the palantir, who knows, maybe he would have found the strength to govern the forces of Minas Tirith and hope for Rohan andso might have sat by Faramir's bed as he awoke from his stupor. But as it was he did the last thing he could think of to keep his and his son's honour, and protected both of them from torture and mutilation. If not for his pride, he may have died as he lived, as a strong steward, not as failed leader and broken father.

Faramir reminds me a bit of Hamlet in his way he experiences his personal tragedy. He is a very observant character, a good leader, loyal almost to a fault. He sees much, but is too hesitant to act. He knows he should have gone to Rivendell and still reluctantly obeyed the command to stay and let his brother go. He knows the men that will follow his father's last command will be doomend, he himself among them, but still can't bring himself to act upon his wisdom. Reluctancy and a bit of the melancholy element in him keep him from being an even better leader and soldier- and cost many rangers and almost himself too his life.

All three men coudl have been supreme leaders, yet throught the fault in their stars AND themselves they are doomed to fail in the mentioned critical moments, giving way to tragedy.

Shakespeare could have written at least a trilogy on that that family, well if there is a heavenhe just may have- and God, I need tickets then!
