currently thinking about the mortality of the lmk gang

Wukong is immortal, he'll eventually outlive all his friends, again. even if they reincarnate, it won't be the same. the world keeps moving, but he's the one constant. is this what he wanted when he sought out immortality?

Macaque has a long lifespan. he might end up gaining immortality with Wukong too, but that just means he'll outlive the others too. he's died once and is scared of it. but he has to watch his friends fall to it one by one.

MK doesn't know what'll happen to him. is he immortal like the other monkeys? is he more mortal? does he even age? at what rate? does he even want to be immortal?

Pigsy, Sandy and Mei might have a longer lifespan, what with the dragon/monster heritage, but they're still mortal. they still age. Pigsy and Sandy are older than the others. sandy's accepted it. pigsy doesn't want to leave his son behind. mei doesn't want to leave her brother behind.

Tang is fully human. he may have inherited the great monk's powers, but he is still fully human, flesh and bone. he's older than MK and Mei, too. he's the only one that has a confirmed lifespan. they all know it'll happen eventually.

What if, instead of sneaking into storage closets and behind shaded buildings for 2 minute makeout sessions, Ghost and Soap were more for tactical cuddling than lip contact?

It started out small; one armed hugs from Soap during casual/playful banter and protective holds from Ghost, whenever he had to yank the Sergeant out of danger(which tends to happen alot).

As their relationship began to take shape, it evolved into tender but careful hugs when Soap's anger gets the best of him, which has him dissolving into downhearted tears that he fights to hold back. Or stable and warm hugs, when night terrors lock Ghost into a panic attack, and if anyone else tried to consult him, there would be a knife to the throat.

Both men knew that there would be nothing but trouble if they were to continue this. And not just on fraternizing charges alone. But after that too close of a call with Makarov and a bullet nearly injected into the skull, as soon as they were alone, Simon and Johnny locked each other into a tight bear hug. The kind of hug that felt solid, safe, and grounding into reality. Johnny gripping his LT tight as he buried his face into the crook of his neck, as Simon held on for dear life, telling himself that everything is OK. Johhny is here. Johnny is safe. He got to him in time....

As time passed, they got slightly more intimate with each other. As one suspected with couples. But anyone who knows Ghost and Soap knew that they communicated with hugs more than anything else. (Though some would believe that is mostly because Soap is compromising with Ghost's mask.)
