When Lily said to "name 50 villians" who are "sympathetic," that was too easy. But now that we've graduated to Lily's bullshit moving of the goal post . . . Well, being annoying is one of my special interests, so.
Naming 50 villians who, "have a point, successfully navigate still being a villian, and are well written."
(Extra challenge: trying not to repeat any of the ones Crim and Ant have already named. Sorry if I repeat one by accident.)

SL characters as movie stars AU!
Sung Jin-woo
has been acting since he was a teenager. Though, he only gets lesser roles until he grows in the acting industry, thus earning the "glow up" as well the more he takes on roles. By the time he's in his twenties, Jin-woo receives lead roles and has never left ever since due to the impact of his performance that is hard to be seen as a supporting character. His movies range from drama, adventure, and action — though, he spend most of his time in the action genre. Jin-woo does his own stunts as he does martial arts and working out as his hobbies. Whenever he gets partnered up with someone, dating rumors always spark up, so he tends to avoid having a partner for the sake of protecting his zone. He improvises some of his lines and is very professional.
Cha Hae-in
a former athlete to one of the country's biggest stars. Due to her sweetheart persona, she often gets roles in soap operas, dramas, and romance, though she wants to take on the action genre to hone her skills. Her management got her stunt doubles, much to her dismay, until they trusted her enough to do her own stunts. Hae-in's skills are very realistic that every time she cries in her scenes, several of the production cry as well, thus allowing her to earn many awards. She gets along with her co-workers and is even said to be that some of her leading men develop a crush on her. However, she has not dated at least one of them, even outside her career, as she chooses to focus on her job.
Woo Jin-chul
a star who has been featured in international movies, hence becoming a multilingual because of his passion in learning new languages before his departure from South Korea. He is usually stern, but is very friendly to his co-workers, as well as his fans. Jin-chul takes on both protagonist and antagonist roles, although he secretly likes his villain roles more than his hero ones. He does his own stunts and is skillful with holding guns.
Choi Jong-in
most of his roles are those wherein he's the son of a millionaire or just a rich person who owns a big company. He hardly gets main roles, but the impact in his performances even as a supporting character are what made him prominent in the industry. Jong-in also has roles where he's an antagonist, which his fans prefer more; it is also said that some of his castmates or co-workers feel quite intimidated by him.
Baek Yoon-ho
a prominent action star who does his own stunts. Not once he has appeared in movies that are anything but action. Despite being in his twenties, Yoon-ho receive roles where he is a single father who will do anything to protect his family, thus capturing the hearts of the young actors and actresses he works with. He also helps his castmates in training for fighting scenes, thus forming a bond with them as well. Yoon-ho has his own charity that he donates a sufficient amount of money in for helping tigers and other wild animals.
Lee Ju-hee
one of the industry's dearest sweethearts. Her movies are mostly in the slice of life genre, specifically romance. Regardless of what she believes, Ju-hee never fails to create chemistry with the ones she works with, especially to those who have partnered up with her. She receives both main and supporting roles. Lee Ju-hee may have appeared in horror and action films, but she prefers to stay in the slice of life genre despite not minding to step out of her comfort zone.
Lim Tae-gyu
a actor whose roles are primarily supporting, yet has many main roles as well. His skill ranges from drama, comedy, and action. Tae-gyu mostly does his own stunts, always allotting his time in training once he receives the script. He's charismatic, yet isn't necessarily great when it comes to romantic chemistry because of the vibe he frequently gives out. He's friends with many famous stars such as Baek Yoon-ho, Choi Jong-in, Ma Dong-wook, Min Byung-gyu, Sung Jin-woo, and Cha Hae-in, and has revealed of his wish of being able to be in the same film as them together.
Min Byung-gyu
an actor who has shown up in various genres. When it comes to slice of life, Byung-gyu mostly gets leading roles, and sometimes, he gets the "second male lead" roles, which brings more impact to the viewers. But as for other genres like action and horror, Byung-gyu takes on supporting roles; he is one of the actors who has a stunt double and still gets to do certain stunts depending on his capability. And when it comes to the historical genre, that is when Byung-gyu gets most excited and believes he does his roles better in period dramas than the rest, partly because he is a big fan of historical dramas which he views his other roles differently. Byung-gyu is great at improvising his lines that the director only has to tell him the background of the scene and Byung-gyu knows what to do next, which somehow makes some actors feel challenged as they are not sure if they can go along with Byung-gyu's improvised lines. But, Byung-gyu always does his best to help his co-stars and not make them feel pressured.
Eun-seok
one of the country's lesser known actors who is known for getting background roles. Eun-seok hardly appears in films, yet is friends with a lot of big stars in the industry. The reason being that he got severely injured in set once, which has scarred him and chose to no longer show up in filming unless he feels like doing so.
Yoo Jin-ho
a supporting actor who is well-known for being Sung Jin-woo's "sidekick" as he had been acting alongside him for years. Yoo Jin-ho specializes in roles that are comedic relief — he doesn't mind it since that means he doesn't have a lot of lines to memorize. Despite being an actor himself, Jin-ho is not afraid to unleash his inner "fanboy" when it comes to expressing his support in actors and actresses he admires.
Park Hee-jin
an actress who is known for her background or supporting roles. Hee-jin excels from soap operas to action movies. Her roles are usually helping the main character and defending them from the antagonist(s).
Ma Dong-wook
a versatile actor in his fifties who has different roles in various genres, whether it be a father or someone the main characters seek help from. He shares his experiences to his fellow stars as his way of helping them in filming and has a lot of actors/actresses wishing to act in the same movie as him; not because of his talent, but also his kind nature that he treats everyone younger than him as his children.
Liu Zhigang
China's rising action star. A likeable and charming actor whose roles are both protagonist and antagonist. Zhigang does his own stunts and likes to go to the extreme where no editing shall be involved. He's one of the faces in the industry whose management cannot simply allow to be part of a film unless the paycheck is immense and does not tarnish Zhigang's talent. In every film he is in, it receives many awards that reach up to internationals. Zhigang has acted in international films, which makes him fluent in English after being casted alongside stars in different countries.
Thomas Andre
a powerful actor in the USA who is popular for his antagonistic roles. Thomas enjoys playing the bad guy. And what makes him likeable is that he donates half of his money to charities and has his own foundation for children with special needs and disabilities. He is funny and tends to joke around in set, along in conventions where he gets to communicate with fans and gives them the best time in their lives.
Laura
an actress who excels most in the action genre. She films her scenes effortlessly and smoothly without needing a second take. Laura learns martial arts off-screen and knows how to hold a gun; she is also sassy and has the kind of humor that makes her co-stars adore working with her despite her stern and cold demeanor.
Goto Ryuji
a versatile actor in Japan who appears in dramas and action. His roles are mostly in the villain side, which what makes him intimidating to other actors. Goto prefers to work with those who are professional and hardly messes up more than twice otherwise he thinks they are wasting his time. However, he is usually gently to those who are younger and new to the acting industry, he looks out for them and won't hesitate to scold the production if the first time actors ever get hurt in set.

A scene I tend to overthink is this one
And Woo Jin-Chul isn't the person I think about here (although it's a very iconic moment of him)
The one I keep thinking about is Baek Yoon-Ho
This is a manhwa-only moment as far as I know (since the anime hasn't gotten here yet), but in theory, Hwang Dong-Soo should be stronger than Baek Yoon-Ho because his powers are likely being upgraded by Norma Selner
Woo Jin-Chul also says they held back at the last second (which is most likely said out of courtesy more than anything), but while Baek Yoon-Ho would have done that (especially with his reflexes), Hwang Dong-Soo doesn't really have a reason to (it's not exactly in his character)
However, the arm that shakes and that Woo Jin-Chul checks isn't the one that stopped Hwang Dong-Soo. It's the one that stops Baek Yoon-Ho
There are a lot of different factors here, like Hwang Dong-Soo using his fist unlike Baek Yoon-Ho, how serious both of them are taking the fight, and how strong Baek Yoon-Ho is at this stage of his transformation, but just based on this scene, I like to imagine Baek Yoon-Ho is stronger than Hwang Dong-Soo (if Baek Yoon-Ho really went all out, but I think that's unlikely given his personality)
Anyway, this is just me brain-rotting

The beginner's guide to the Pretty Series
With the recent announcement of the new Pretty Series installment titled Himitsu no AiPri, it's about time the Pretty Series returned after over a year since the Waccha PriMagi! series finale. In celebration of the newest installment, let's take a quick history lesson about the Pretty series.
The Pretty Rhythm Saga (2010-2014) - The Pretty Series saga began on July 15, 2010 with the arcade game titled Pretty Rhythm Mini Skirt. Made by Takara Tomy and developer SynSophia, this arcade game pits players in the role of Prism Stars, performing Prism Jumps, and collecting Prism Stones.
While the one that started it all made a slow start, the folks from Takara Tomy wanted to do more with the Pretty Rhythm saga, and with that, a TV anime titled Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream was made. Aired in TV Tokyo on April 9, 2011, for 51 episodes, this anime is the fruit of Japan-Korea collaboration thanks to Japan's Tatsunoko Production and South Korea's Dong Woo Animation. The TV anime is all about Aira, Rizumu, and Mion in their quest to take on the prestigious Prism Queen Cup.
As Aira Harune's journey to become Prism Queen is completed, Mia Ageha takes the baton as the star of the next Pretty Rhythm story; Dear My Future. Aired in TV Tokyo on April 7, 2012, for 51 episodes, Dear My Future centers on the rivalry between Prizmmy☆ and the K-Pop group PURETTY. Believe it or not, there are real-life versions of the groups as seen in the anime. There's even a live-action segment featuring Prizmmy☆ as well.
As Mia Ageha's road to Grateful Symphonia is well and truly over, Naru Ayase steps to the spotlight in the third and final chapter of the Pretty Rhythm saga, titled Rainbow Live. Aired in TV Tokyo on April 6, 2013, it features an original storyline unlike the previous two. It's about Naru, An, and Ito, who are working together at the Prism Stone Shop while trying to take good care of a mysterious girl named Rinne.
Although the Pretty Rhythm saga ended, the story continues with the KING OF PRISM spinoff films featuring male characters from the Pretty Rhythm saga. They even got a 2019 anime show as well showcasing the rise of the boys who would be Septentrion.
The PriPara saga (2014-2018, 2021~) After the end of the Pretty Rhythm saga, the folks of Takara Tomy prepped up what it seems to be the second generation of the Pretty series. It's called PriPara and it aired on TV Tokyo in the Summer of 2014 and lasted for three seasons, four if you count Idol Time PriPara of course. This anime series centers on the life and times of Laala Manaka, a little girl who wants to be the best PriPara idol. Together with Mirei Minami and Sophy Hojo, they became SoLaMi Smile and they fought their way against the best idol teams of PriPara, especially Dressing Pafe consisting of Dorothy, Reona, and Sion, Tricolore, and Gaarmageddon, among many others. PriPara is a huge win for the people behind it and such success prompted the show to spawn four movies and outrageous merchandising rights.
In the spring of 2017, the next chapter of PriPara begins with three new main characters penning the final pages of this saga. Titled Idol Time PriPara, it's all about Yui Yumekawa, whose fateful encounter with Laala Manaka changed everything following an accident. With Nino Nijiiro and Michiru Kouda joining alongside, the MY☆DREAM trio made the best closure to this saga.
Although the PriPara TV series is finished, the story continues with Idol Land PriPara. First announced in December 2020, it was originally slated to be released in the spring of 2021 until it became subject to long gestation and delayed launch dates. It was released on August 17, 2023. It is the second official PriPara app game after the defunct PriPuz puzzle app game. This app game also features an original anime series set moments after the events of Idol Time PriPara. It introduces new characters such as Amari Katasumi, Mario, and Pololo, among others.
The Kiratto PriChan years (2018-2021) - Aired in TV Tokyo since April 2018 for three seasons, Kiratto PriChan is set in a world where fame comes from social media just like in the real world. It's about a group of girls who called themselves the Miracle☆Kiratts who are striving to become the best PriChan idols above the rest. For three seasons, we watched Miracle Kiratts taking on big challenges such as heated competition with rival teams such as Meltic StAr and Ring Marry, the jewel idol competition, saving the world, the road to the Queens Grand Prix, and saving the world...again, while they do what they do best; showcasing the world that they're the best PriChan sensations ever known.
PriMagi (2021-2022) - Waccha PriMagi! is the fourth installment of the Pretty Series that revolves around the lives of Primagistas striving to become the best of the best. The show is about Matsuri Hibino, a middle-schooler who dreams of being the best just like her idol, the legendary Jennifer Sumire Sol.
AiPri - After over a year of void, the Pretty Series has returned with the newest installment coming to TV Tokyo this April 2024. Titled Himitsu no AiPri, the new series stars Minori Fujidera as Himari Aozora and Sae Hiratsuka as Mitsuki Hoshikawa. For the first time in Pretty Series, the animation sequences were provided by OLM, the studio behind the Pokemon and Yo-Kai Watch anime series, while South Korea's Dongwoo A&E returned to cooperate for it.
Welcome back, Pretty Series! The world can't wait for the franchise's comeback show this April.

Sejak episode 9
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/9cf873d65398a1a0bb880c51383f3587/2835c794dd939e54-d6/s540x810/879aa2db40fa7608bee61db7bd526c0a518b9bf6.jpg)
Wow okay so a lot to unpack.
"How come I never realized you're a woman? I only had eyes for you and wanted you from the outset." Meaning that Yi In acknowledges at least to himself that he's been gay for Mong-woo all this time. ALL THIS TIME. Like he 100% believed this was a man and he meant to have him anyway. I just want to state this for the record because it's UNHEARD OF here in sageuk city.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/1160c7abd57a6462b94a68226954808d/2835c794dd939e54-1a/s540x810/f0af81f3af1ad7a5b5b5562034f940f998298286.jpg)
He did plan to rescue her!! Not Hongjang or the others so still top 10 anime betrayals but he did intend for Mong-woo to escape Gulag. It's not much but it's something.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/5f44a560965bdbbb6e856550ba87e543/2835c794dd939e54-85/s540x810/80c1507ea3e1f8e5281ab24fa7f1c3ff1f8355f0.jpg)
There’s obviously no reason to strip out of all outer garments and let one's long luscious hair out just for a night of modest cuddling, but at the same time there's no reason to be completely covered if they just fucked nasty. So what is the truth?? 😤
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/881ff2a6a1fc54cd256131ad24410852/2835c794dd939e54-b4/s540x810/efffc106d7fd7746b99444b502f150986974b29c.jpg)

Still obsessed with the decision to set this in her natal home. The first thing she does after their night of passion is to revisit all the reasons she has to destroy him emotionally and politically. Good luck jeonha

Really insane levels of misogyny when a man's four wives have to apologize for his homosexuality

Haha no commentary, I was just very delighted by how fucking speechless she was in this scene.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/c1ec2c58a72c9f310c181c6dd5d5e0f2/2835c794dd939e54-e1/s540x810/7b637d6f55dd1113265498d7bd02277fc2191a86.jpg)
I like that he protects Dong sanggung (admittedly after inflicting upon her the worst humiliation of the century). I don't know what she's up to or what she's done but I honestly don't care, I just want her to have a good life bossing the other court ladies around <3
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/22314cfff8ed2337b6bc37aa90f87eb5/2835c794dd939e54-a7/s540x810/fbde15f1382d1626e15f21ff3758c0d081508b21.jpg)
Speaking of, this queen is so precious and I want her to always smile like this and never cry and tremble and break her teacups again :( Her relationship to Munseong is really sweet, and I love that her dad got to witness how much she adores these kids that she's supposed to hate. Maybe he'll think twice about ousting and/or killing Munseong now!!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/e717ef98a1497589191255a35ed47091/2835c794dd939e54-fe/s540x810/b846d83f8c64bbb645e6679f8613cbd2d1f1093e.jpg)
All his eyepatches are so Fashion
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/6f74b4708d3773348781ce1b6fa4912e/2835c794dd939e54-f8/s540x810/35d92e1ae09cdc55d25075b309a7d913e922f299.jpg)
This is such a stupid plan because even if Yi In could safely assume the envoy would insist on playing against Mong-woo, there is a 100% guarantee that she'll be brought to Qing as a baduk prodigy if she wins. Like even without the bet that's a given. So she'll be safe from Evil Minister Uncle, yes, but only until the envoy discovers she's a woman. (I don't think this is going to happen but wouldn't it be neat if she did go to Qing in a brief subplot adventure and found her dad?)

K-Dramas recommendations & short reviews
Because I've watched way too many to not make a list. Warning: I like romance and fantasy a bit too much.
These shows made me cry. 10/10. Five stars. Recommend to anyone. They live in my mind rent-free:
Extraordinary Attorney Woo (2022) - Attorney Woo is such a wonderful person, I love her character. I can't say much about the representation, but I like that it opens up the conversation around autism & neurodivergence, discrimination and prejudice, particularly in work environments. I rarely like shows about law or lawyers but I was surprisingly engaged with the cases and the story. It deserves a second season. (The only thing I don't like about this show is they're pushing for a MinWoo and Choi Su-Yeon ship. Which huh--disrespectful.)
Hotel Del Luna (2019) - A great place to start with k-dramas if you like paranormal fantasy. This show has such a special place in my heart. I wanted a different ending but I am okay with it because it was a tight narrative. The main character is iconic (Man-Wol please step on me). The show has amazing sets, AMAZING costumes, an amazing OST, amazing and heartbreaking performance by Yeo Jin Goo. The main couple is so soft; like they're such good friends and coworkers and gentle with each other (eventually). It's enemies to reluctant friends to lovers. It's perfect for asexual viewers who want more than physicality in their romance shows. Cons: the secondary characters' goodbyes and backstories left a little to be desired. A few other nitpicks like Chang-Seong is the one to suggest the main character a new hobby instead of her just discovering it by herself.
It's Okay to Not Be Okay (2020) - Also a good place to start with k-dramas. This show is a lesson in good narrative; this has perfect writing & storytelling. The cast is so good. The female lead is an icon. The character work I excellent. The mental health issues are so well addressed and it taught me a lot about mental health I wasn't aware of. Each small minor character plays a very important thematic role. (The villain isn't the best thing ever but she serves her role in the themes and plot.) The production and the storytelling with the children's book animations are just *heart eyes*. The OST is so good too. You need to watch this to understand how good a k-dramas can be. A must-watch.
Goblin: The Lonely and Great God (2016) - This is the most iconic fantasy/paranormal k-drama ever. A lot of current tropes were started here I think (including the weird k drama last-episode time jump separation of the main couple). This show broke me. You will cry. The bromance and comedy are amazing here too. Gong Yoo and Dong Wook Lee have great chemistry. Main female lead is so cute and her character is so heartwarming. The ending felt a bit rushed. The death, existential related stuff with the grim reapers and such is so good tho.
Business Proposal (2022) - Best rom-com ever! (Well, it could be gayer tbh.) It's my new comfort show. I already watched it twice. It's campy, hilarious, chaotic, iconic and messy in a way that feels like real life (but obviously played up for drama and comedy). Excellent character work. The love interest is definitely written by a woman. Gorgeous cast (Sejeon omg I have a crush, but also the others). It was too short! I would have loved another episode, and more of Grandpa and Ha-Ri. Warning: this has the weird kdrama last-episode time jump couple separation.
W: Two Worlds (2016) - A young resident medic accidentally finds her way inside the webcomic her father created. Like, that premise is killer. We have Lee Jong Suk at his finest here; the character fits him so well. He was born to play a lead. This show has amazing meta-commentary on writing, authorship, and existential crisis. The confrontation between the webcomic character Kang Cheol and the author is insane! The main couple is an epic pair. Would rewatch. High wump value. Cons: The second part could have been more swoony with the romance, Kang Cheol kind of became a bit cold. (A warning: this show also has the k drama weird last-episode time jump couple separation.)
Would recommend with popcorn, I rate them 8/10:
Crash Landing on You (2019) - Really good. The main couple has the best chemistry I've ever seen. It's not that much of a personal fave show, but still pretty awesome and will tug at your heart. It got a bit overly dramatic in the last episodes and again, has that k-drama last episode weird time jump couple separation, but here it actually makes sense. And sort of mirrors the separation and eventual unification of the Korean Peninsula. It was very interesting to see the contrast between North and South Korea.
Shooting Stars (2022) - Aside from the terrible, horrible, insulting Africa storyline (where the male lead goes to 'help' African kids with water scarcity, not even a country name is called, he just goes to *gestures vaguely* Africa to help goddammit he's such a beautiful soul! /s) There's a weird creepy sugar mommy wannabe side storyline and it's weird and out of nowhere. But the rest of it is good and campy and the main characters are so cute. All the couples are cute. The male lead is a cute disaster. Female lead is also a capable cutey but a disaster when it comes to romance. It's hilarious. I love all characters. It's fun. It's great. It shows a very interesting side of the entertainment industry.
While You Were Sleeping (2017) - A man and a woman who don't know each other have precognition powers and after they meet, they use them to take down a corrupt lawyer. The show isn't very heavy on the romance, tough the pair work pretty well together. I liked the main actress. Lee Jong Suk has chemistry with anyone. The male role was not exactly a good fit for Jong Suk. He's so much more naturally charming than the character. It's a fun show to pass the time. The found family is nice and all the characters work great together. The mom is great.
The King's Affection (2021) - I'm going to be honest, I didn't finish watching this. Ups. I got bored after episode 15. It's a very slow show but what I watched was quite good. It was just not a show for me. Having a bisexual male lead was awesome, I appreciate that he falls for the main character while he thinks she's a man. (Could be gayer tho, just saying.) Pretty good discussions and reversals of gender cliches. It has complicated parent-child relationships that are very well written which gives a lot of heart and heartbreak to this story. The political stuff gets very convoluted. I really wish the queer part was bigger though, and not limited to the main couple. We could even have poly representation! I still have half a mind to finish this but I don't know There are so many other shows I'd rather watch instead. (Boy, I really need to get into the actually queer side of k-dramas because the side I'm currently on is giving me crumbs.)
Lovers of the Red Sky (2021) - The premise was so cool. This has so much lore I like and the setting is beautiful and rich, but it also has so much lost potential. The plot is very weak in the second half and could be restructured. I loved the atmosphere, costumes and the actors and their characters: the blind cursed scholar nobleman, the female genius cheeky painter and her friend trio and the prince are all great characters. Ahn Hyo Seop is pretty good in it and looks very pretty indeed in historical costume (but the design of the villain creature he's possessed/cursed with is so, so bad omg). Great premise failed execution. Good first half but it went over the rails quickly. Still entertaining if you like historical fantasy.
Romance is a Bonus Book (2019) - It's a bit slow and could have done so much more with the female lead and her child. She's a bit underwhelming and her daughter is barely in the story. The second female character played by Jeong Eu-Gene was awesome, I love this actress now. Lee Jung Suk is always looking hot and being an excellent actor with what he's given; he's very charming here. He could have chemistry with a piece of wood and yet I wasn't that fan of the romance. Maybe it's just because friends to lovers isn't my cup of tea. There's a weird out-of-nowhere backstory between the male leads. The commentary of ageism in the workplace is a bit surface level (it's not that big of a deal for the company if you're overqualified for a job, the point should be that is an issue for you and your career, who is too good for the company). You can tell the writers really care about books; it's definitely a love letter to editors and an interesting window into the world of book publishing; you can feel the love editors put into making books. Bonus: the founding members of the publishing company have very funny moments.
Do no recommend:
King: Eternal Monarch - Couldn't even finish this. I was so, so confused. The dialogue, narrative and backstory make no sense! Everything is so unnecessarily confusing. There's no chemistry between the main couple. The king and the bodyguard had more chemistry. Lee Jung-Jin (playing the villain Lee Lim) & Woo Do-Hwan (the bodyguard) carried this show and are pretty much the only thing good about it. The female lead is sidelined. It had an intriguing premise but failed execution.
What's Wrong With Secretary Kim - Skimmed most of the second half. It's a mess. The love interest CEO is such a narcissist and asshole he wouldn't be able to keep a working, healthy relationship with his partner without some serious therapy first. The female lead seems to be repulsed by him most of the time even when together and even looks scared when they get intimate. There's an unnecessarily convoluted plotline about the main lead's brother and a kidnapping in their past. It has tonal issues and it's cringy rather than funny. The secondary characters are just a lot of useless filler. The female lead sacrifices her independence and dreams to be with the main guy. Just go watch Business Proposal instead.
Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo - The only pro of this show is IU. The romance went the undeveloped route. Cheap-looking production, with too many episodes, melodramatic, characters pivot in place instead of naturally developing; it's definitely a telenovela. The point that the female lead is from the future doesn't even matter for the story (should have made her a Goryeo historian instead of a random cosmetologist). Pass!
Tomorrow - Could not finish watching. Please, please don't watch it if you're dealing with depression, bullying or suicidal thoughts. Please don't. By episode 2 I was just screaming at the screen. Problematic? This show invented the word problematic. The supernatural task force that's supposed to save people with suicide risk is terrible at therapy and suicide prevention. They tell the person trying to commit suicide, literally on the edge of a building about to jump, that they should do it, that they're weak, they should just jump, go ahead! Like ... what????
Mystic Pop Up Bar - Didn't capture me by episode 2. Got bored. Some say this is better than Hotel Del Luna but I don't agree.
Abyss - It's a weird tonal mix. Would have preferred if it leaned further into the absurd (go all in with the humour or don't at all), the sci-fi or the murder mystery. Instead of just revealing by episode 3 who the murderer is, quickly changing the plot into a chase after the villain, even though he's so lame. But also he is keeps killing people and it gets dark. And then we cut to the main couple being silly and cute. It's so jarring. The leads have a great dynamic and Ahn Hyo Seop knows how to differentiate his characters really well, give them their own flavour., but in the end it's just a cool premise, failed execution. Very average.
Currently watching:
The Crowned Clown - Very interesting concept and gorgeous, gorgeous visuals. Plot drags a little. Has some tonal problems and oversimplification of politics. The best part is when Yeo Jin-Goo acts with himself haha. He's such a talented actor.
The Uncanny Counter - Get's a bit melodramatic sometimes but all four main actors are insanely good.
Tale of the Nine-Tailed - The main romantic relationship needs a lot more development, but the entire show is worth watching just for Dong Wook Lee and Kim Bum as brothers.
Alchemy of Souls - 6/10 so far. Currently watching season 2/part 2. Aside from the prince, I don't particularly care for any of the characters. Unpopular opinion but the main romantic pair have no chemistry. Mu-Deok has more chemistry with Yul and the prince, and the prince has more chemistry with Jang-Uk. The lore is confusing and inconsistent: it breaks its own rules. (Two souls in one body what?? when was this established as a thing?) There's not enough foreshadowing and setting up the rules of magic in this world (the Ice Stone comes up as a deux ex mahcina big plot point in the last second). It also drags; the episodes are too long. There's a lot of saying and ultimately the show doesn't deliver. The narrative structure is straight out of a fantasy Wattpad. The set and costumes are fun and cool for a fantasy world, and the first episode was great.

Undeniable Pull
I needed a break from my other fics. Kinf od a reset. So from between Solo Leveling and Death Mark, I ended here. I have no clue when the next chapter will happen but it may be just the Red Gate incident. After that, I might have more canon divergence.
Jin-Chul met many hunters in his career. Of all different ranks. From E ranks disappointed by their result to far too confident S ranks who seemed to be pulled to him for some unknown reason. He thought he was ready for any situation. But he was not ready for Sung Jin-Woo.
[may contain spoilers for anime-only fans]
"Looks like we suspected you for nothing," Jin-Chul felt Sung's hope leaving him as his assistant announced the reading of the device. He himself felt disappointed at it. Maybe it was just a hope for one normal S-rank hunter... There was something in this young man that had Jin-Chul feeling protective. Wanting to tell him to quit.
But he pushed his thoughts down and remained professional. He could ignore his feelings. Not like he never did it before. Not like he would ever see him again.
Or so he thought until about a week later he got a report.
"Manager... A moment if I could..." one of the agents approached his desk.
"What is it?" Jin-Chul asked, expecting S-ranks were bickering about recruits. Again.
"Eight people were killed in action inside a C-rank dungeon. A D and E-rank hunters were the only survivors. It was a private attack force, the two seem to have been hired to meet raid member requirements," the agent explained passing him a file on the incident. Attack forces hiring to fit requirements was common.
"Looks like they ran away. Isn't it a common occurrence?" he dared assume, already guessing what guild might have cleared the dungeon.
"No. They didn't run. They cleared the dungeon," now this got his attention. "The D-rank had high-class equipment so it's possible he finished the boss. But the Giant Arachnid Buryura shouldn't have been much of an issue to an organised and experienced party. So it's strange eight people died," the report continued.
"Don't beat around the bush and tell me if there's anything strange. You wouldn't come to me if there wasn't," Jin-Chul didn't need any more details. Some recklessness could have ended in this situation.
"Well... The other survivor was hunter Sung Jin-Woo from the double dungeon accident," the reply was more shocking than anything he could have come up with.
"Sung Jin-Woo?" the image of the young hunter in the hospital bed quickly came to his mind. "Seems suspicious but we shouldn't worry. He was already tested for a second awakening with a high-class device. Checking once will do," something in Jin-Chul was nagging him about the whole thing. Why was E-rank in a C-rank dungeon? Did the party need a porter and couldn't find anyone else? If so he'd be in the back and it wouldn't be a shock he survived. Especially with the boss being cleared.
"I also want to think it's a coincidence. But... The among the party members who died is... hunter Hang Dong-Suk."
"Hwang... Hwang Dong-Su's older brother? In that case, I can't just ignore this," Jin-Chul decided. Dong-Su would likely be coming to Korea in this case. And likely wouldn't leave after just some paperwork to do with his brother's passing. Sung Jin-Woo and that D-rank were in grave danger. And the Association couldn't have an S-rank, even if contracted by a foreign guild, killing people out in the open. He hoped his intuition was wrong.
For now best he could do was keep the two hunters in mind in case Dong-Su was interested in them.
He fully expected next time he heard hunter Sung's name would have to do with that man. But it was a separate incident. Jin-Chul would never expect to get a report on an Association hunter going rogue. But once he did he made his way to the gate as quickly as possible. This could be a big mess. He should trust his feelings more. Kim Tae-Shik always gave out this worrying aura.
"How many minutes has it been since the dungeon got cleared?" he asked as soon as he arrived at the scene.
"About 40 minutes sir," the inspector overseeing the dungeon informed. Not enough time to investigate so he gave his team a limit to retrieve the bodies. It was the best they could do.
"Did the survivors clear the dungeon themselves?"
"Yes sir, they were worried the monsters could have broken out if they waited too long," the inspector dutifully reported.
Good thinking even if it cut the investigation short. It was always better to clear the dungeon than let monsters escape. No matter the rank of the dungeon. He could barely believe his eyes when he looked at the surviving three hunters. If he wasn't filled in on who survived on his way here he would never recognise hunter Sung Jin-Woo. He really changed in the last few weeks. Was it even possible to change like that? No matter. He had a duty to fulfil.
"We meet again hunter," he greeted him. Maybe the first incident motivated him to work out more or something. He could not help but wonder. Good for him he guessed.
"Ah, you're from the monitoring division," some part of him was glad Sung recognised him despite their only meeting being very brief.
"Woo Jin-Chul, head of the monitoring division," he introduced himself to all three hunters. "It seems one of our employees caused huge harm here. We'll hand out official apologies after an investigation has been closed and the investigation division will handle the case instead of us. " All standard protocol made just in case. Jin-Chul never expected he'd have to use it. As he asked the hunters the questions he could not shake a feeling someone was watching him. But who here could have a stare so intense?
He had to shelve it for the idea of a B-rank healer and C-rank mage beating a B-rank assassin. It seemed possible if Tea-Shik was tired from fighting the convicts and other hunters but still. Some paperwork needed the two at the office.
"Hunter Sung Jin-Woo. I don't think you could have beaten Kim Tae-Shik. And I don't think it necessary to suspect you of re-awakening again. But I need to ask you to be careful," he might as well use the chance to warn him.
"What do you mean?" Sung was clearly puzzled. Did he have no clue who Hwang Dong-Suk was?
"When Hwang Dong-Suk's team got exterminated the only survivors were you and a D-rank. The problem is Hwang don-Suk's younger brother. S-rank with Scavenger guild in America. He might blame you two and seek revenge. What actually happened won't matter what really happened." Sung just nodded. He seemed to understand the gravity of the situation. Law could not stop an S-rank from getting his revenge. "If possible I'd suggest leaving the country," he added and bid the hunter a farewell.

Solo Leveling Episode 11 Review - The Job-Changing Quest
Holy crap, A-1 went ALL out with this episode’s animation. They wanted their reputation back and they did it rightfully so. The way Jinwoo and Igris battled without their weapons was pure eye candy and it makes me wonder how he will get out of his predicament next episode.
This episode mainly focuses on Jinwoo taking the job-change quest. It’s his most difficult challenge yet as he cannot heal or leave the dungeon until it is complete. Meaning, it’s basically a battle against survival at this point. His only weapon is a dagger and the enemies he’s facing are armored knights. He’s at a great disadvantage, especially when he has to defeat some of them barehanded using enhanced skills, essentially wasting them instead of saving them for the boss. Fortunately, he got invisible armor after defeating them; it helped him when he fought against Igris, but will it help him against the horde of sentient knights that came after Igris’s defeat?
Igris the Bloodred is very haunting design-wise. It’s just a sentient knight’s armor colored in red, but why is it so majestic? It’s such a mesmerizing design. Anyways, I really loved how it moved around when Jinwoo was fighting it. My favorite part was when it was dragging Jinwoo against the wall with its bare hands. That was some good animation.
Other than Jinwoo’s dungeon stint, we see the happenings of other characters. Jinho is dining in a fancy restaurant with his father and his brother Jinsung who makes his official appearance here. Jinsung, who failed recruiting S-class hunters in Korea, is seeking out hunters from foreign countries. There is a mention of Hwang Dong-soo, foreshadowing his future appearance. Choi Jong-in prepares himself to go on a dangerous mission to Jeju, as he gathered so many S-class hunters, Cha Hae-in included. Go Gun-hee ponders about the mission with Woo Jinchul. Jin-ah makes dinner for her brother and goes to study. It’s nice to see these transitions. While the animation is good, it’d be boring if it was just an episode about Jinwoo fighting all these enemies.
The only downside is that that’s all there is to talk about for this episode, so I’m ending the review here. It was super fun to see Jinwoo being challenged by enemies stronger than the previous. Is next episode the finale? Will there be additional seasons? Please let me know.

Wild Cards
One of the best episodes of animation ever.
And we open on GL and Hawkgirl flirting. As is proper.
...Dude. They're an advanced space faring people. Of course they have banks! Also, Hawgirl was a cop (allegedly) so yeah, she's tapped into a few bank records.
I think Joker should be allowed to blow up Vegas, personally.
Gwynplane entertainment is a nice shoutout.
This is the first time we see Joker's redesign and while it's not as good as BTAS's, it's still a lot better than TNBA's. Hamill sounds better, too.
Written by Stan Berkowitz and Dwayne McDuffie
Directed by Butch Lukic
Batman's head is basically an egg balanced on a coffee cup. The Joker is a serious of triangles.
Pre-Margot Robbie Harley is such a breath of fresh air. The Oscars are a glorified popularity contest and you shouldn't pay them any attention, but I'm glad that fucking bimbo film didn't win any awards.
Joker, brother, you have no right to call anybody else a fashion disaster.
Old ladies are the most badass things on the planet and don't let anybody else tell you otherwise. That woman could probably tank the blast and not feel a thing.
Joker could open an act in Vegas and make a trillion dollars a year and never break a sweat.
Hey, it's the Teen Titans!
This one episode caused more continuity issues than Mystery of the Batwomen did.
Why didn't Superman just freeze the bomb with his freeze breath?
Joker, you are the worst boss ever.
Our first taste of Cadmus.
Lack of pain isn't invincibility.
I love how the timer is episode running length
Joker you are a creeper
This is the closest thing to a noble act the Joker has ever done.
Of course the bomb's a fake. Why plant one bomb when you can plant dozens?
Scraping the bottom of the barrel with that one Joker
That's a spicy meatball.
Darwyn Cooke's DC: The New Frontier came out in 2004 and I have to wonder if this episode influenced that comic. Both have big action sequences set in Vegas that involve fake bombs.
That's a proper lad, Joker.
Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster
Batman created by Bill Finger
Animated by Dong Woo Animation Co.. Ltd

Mouse (2021) Ep. 11 Recap
Ba-Reum acted on Yo-Han's voice in his head and killed Woo Hyung-Chul. Despite attempting to turn himself in, all evidence related to the murder, including the victim's body, had vanished. Meanwhile, Bong-Yi's anxiety is triggered by an encounter with Kang Deok-Soo, who begins to act again on a rainy day.
If you want to watch the series for yourself, stop reading! This post contains spoilers to the storyline.
In a large meadow, a young boy found Jae-Hoon staringat a bloody animal while clutching a knife. The boy took Jae-Hoon's hand and noted that the cut must be painful. He ignored Jae-Hoon's grumpiness and instead applied mashed up pennywort onto the wound for disinfection purposes. Jae-Hoon asked if the boy wasn't scared, as everyone else avoided him since the rabbit incident. The boy stated firmly that he would not leave a wounded friend behind. He also asked Jae-Hoon to stop killing animals. Jae-Hoon wondered why he was not like the boy and wished to be like him.
Ba-Reum is currently freaking out about killing Woo Hyung-Chul. To add to his horror, he imagines Yo-Han grinning at him. Yo-Han asks Ba-Reum how he feels about killing someone, and Ba-Reum is shaken by the night's events. When Ba-Reum arrives home, he tells himself that it's Yo-Han's fault. The former doctor appears again and asks if Ba-Reum feels better blaming him. Despite his denials, Ba-Reum is still a murderer. Ba-Reum claimed self-defense, but Yo-Han knew he enjoyed watching Hyung-Chul take his last breath. Ba-Reum denied it and yelled at Yo-Han to leave.
Ba-Reum reports to the station in the morning to confess. Initially, Moo-Chi and the Violent Crimes squad do not hear him whisper, but they all turn towards Ba-Reum when he loudly declares, "I killed him!" A task force investigates the warehouse, but nothing seems out of place, and no blood is found. A colleague suggests taking Ba-Reum to the hospital due to the unknown side effects of brain surgery. Ba-Reum insists that it did happen. However, the team was informed that Hyung-Chul turned on his cellphone, and they were able to track his location. At the station, they reviewed footage of Hyung-Chul stowing away on a boat.
Ba-Reum asked Moo-Chi if he knew about Hyung-Chul's involvement in the recent murders. Moo-Chi admitted feeling uneasy about Yo-Han's possible innocence, but after investigating, he confirmed that the murders were just a copycat. Soo-Ho was burned alive, but high schooler Kim Jin-Ah was burned after death. Moo-Chi had someone tail Hyung-Chul, but unfortunately, they lost track of him. The detective intended to inform Ba-Reum during his visit to the substation. However, after watching the video of Hye-Won, he became busy running around, which ultimately led Moo-Chi to discover the bodies of Young-Hee and Hye-Won. Moo-Chi observes that Ba-Reum appears to be desperately hoping that Yo-Han is innocent.
Ba-Reum visits the hospital to check on Seul-Gi. Dong-Goo thanks him for his help. Although Dong-Goo didn't believe that Ba-Reum killed Hyung-Chul, he initially thought it was well-deserved.
At home, Ba-Reum receives a call from Moo-Chi asking him to report to the Evidence Storage team for work the next day. His head aches as he thinks about Hyung-Chul's death, but a meow reminds him that it's his cat's mealtime. Ba-Reum has not yet regained her trust, but he promises to never harm her again. As he moves the birdcage out of his way, the shocking memory of snapping Eo Bong-Yi's body and tossing her out of the window resurfaces. The next day, Ba-Reum discovers that the bird was found dead outside his window. Some children had given it a proper burial.
Ba-Reum is now convinced that what happened with Hyung-Chul was also real. He heads to the warehouse. Upon pulling a tarp off a mound of materials, Ba-Reum discovers a scorch mark on the ground in the exact spot where he remembered kicking down a barrel of fire. This confirms that it was not just a hallucination. The question remains: who cleaned up the scene of the crime? On the night of the incident, an individual waited for Ba-Reum to leave before taking Hyung-Chul's body and meticulously cleaning up the area. While watching Ba-Reum, the man with the "OZ" tattoo on his finger calls someone and says, "I think he noticed. What should I do?"
Ba-Reum, determined to do the right thing even if he is deemed mentally ill, heads to the police station. While on his way, an elderly man trips, causing them both to tumble to the ground. Upon arriving at the station, Ba-Reum receives a call from a stranger asking, "Are you thinking of turning yourself in, Jung Ba-Reum?" Ba-Reum realizes that his phone must have been switched during the earlier collision. Ba-Reum agrees to meet the elderly man who somehow knows about the brain surgery and Hyung-Chul's disappearance.
However, at the meeting place, he is knocked out with chloroform and wakes up in an unfamiliar location. The old man reveals himself to be Daniel LEe, who Ba-Reum thought was dead. Daniel deflects questions about himself and redirects the conversation towards Hyung-Chul, who everyone believes was smuggled to the Philippines by boat. Daniel implies that they only made it appear that way - Hyung-Chul did board the boat, but is likely dead.
The professor wants to know how Ba-Reum felt while killing him. Ba-Reum claims it was self-defense, but Daniel urges him to be honest, knowing that he experienced a pleasure he didn't know existed. Ba-Reum's brain is being slowly consumed by Yo-Han's. Now that he has killed someone, Yo-Han's murderous switch has been flipped, and the urge to kill will only continue to grow. Treatment will not help this addiction.
Daniel suggests reducing his violent tendencies by eliminating the top 1% of psychopaths, which would save innocent lives. Ba-Reum only needs to provide their DNA for Daniel to confirm their predatory status. The police officer yells that Daniel is crazy and vows to turn him in, but Daniel points out that it's hard to believe without a body or evidence. Even if someone believed Ba-Reum's story about Yo-Han's brain merging with his, he would only end up becoming a science experiment. Daniel returns Ba-Reum's phone and warns him that if he ignores the urge, the time between his murderous switch flipping will shorten, and he'll end up killing his loved ones first.
The following day, Shin Sang discovers Ba-Reum in his new position while delivering evidence. Ba-Reum assumes that Shin Sang is going on a blind date because he looks particularly well-dressed, but he is actually a guest on tonight's episode of "Sherlock Hong-Joo", which is returning to the air. After grabbing an outdated bill in a plastic bag to buy drinks with, he received an earful from Moo-Chi. Didn't he learn from the coffee mix incident? The bill was given to Moo-Chi by a child named Bong-Yi as a retainer fee to kill a bad guy.
The latest episode of "Sherlock Hong-Joo" concludes smoothly, and next week's episode will focus on sexual offenses against children as the one-year anniversary of Kang Deok-Soo's release approaches. Shin Sang, a child psychology major, offers to return as a guest and mentions that Moo-Chi was responsible for putting Deok-Soo behind bars and is close to one of the victims. Hong-Joo realizes that she must have been the person Moo-Chi wanted her to take in.
Bong-Yi's words reached the alcoholic mother, who sent her daughter Yoo-Na to live with her father temporarily. Yoo-Na takes her mother's phone and is instructed to contact Bong-Yi if she wants to chat, while Deok-Soo lurks in the shadows.
Ba-Reum is called to Bong-Yi's workplace and finds her drunk. She cups his face in her hands, squeezes his cheeks, and pouts. Bong-Yi's boss informs Ba-Reum that an old classmate appeared and taunted her about a case, calling her pitiful, which led to a fight. Ba-Reum brings Bong-Yi back to her place and gently tucks her in. Ba-Reum caressed her hair but felt the urge to wrap his hands around her neck. He fought against it, but spooked by his own actions, he left in a rush. He was frustrated that Daniel's worods were ringing true.
Bong-Yi wakes up and cringes in embarrassment, remembering her outburst. She runs out to bring Ba-Reum his forgotten phone, but he is too lost in thought to hear her across the street. At the crosswalk, Deok-Soo passes her and whispers something in her ear. Hong-Joo witnesses this while stopped at the light and runs out to help Bong-Yi up. Ba-Reum also sees this and remembers that Halmoni trusted him to take care of Bong-Yi. He decides to wipe Deok-Soo's spit with a handkerchief.
After escorting Bong-Yi home, Hong-Joo is accused of exploiting victims for a good headline. The PD clarifies that she is not there to cover a story and was only concerned about Bong-Yi because of Moo-Chi, who suggested they live together. Bong-Yi explodes, asking why she should do that. Deok-Soo is the criminal, so why should she keep running? Exhausted, Bong-Yi kicks Hong-Joo out and claims she will take care of herself.
The next morning, Hong-Joo visits Moo-Chi to inform him of what happened and provides the dash cam footage. Moo-Chi is enraged, but the probation officers claim that Deok-Soo is acting lawfully and that a victim's restraining order does not apply to him.
Ba-Reum wipes Deok-Soo's spit off a new toothbrush and gives it, along with his colleagues' toothbrushes, to Daniel as a test to identify the psychopath gene. Daniel correctly identifies the toothbrush and warns Ba-Reum that he must be stopped. A psychopathic predator will commit the same crime no matter what and will only get worse as they evolve.
Ba-Reum found Bong-Yi's case in the database and watched a video of her giving a statement as a child. She was battered from the assault. Bong-Yi was sent to get more makgeolli for Halmoni, and that's where Deok-Soo first saw her. Deok-Soo left before Bong-Yi. On the rainy night, Bong-Yi found an abandoned puppy and tried to help it. Deok-Soo attacked her. Ba-Reum remembers how Bong-Yi had cried about the puppy in Halmoni's arms the previous year. Moo-Chi saved Bong-Yi and arrested Deok-Soo. However, in court, the sex offender claimed that he was too drunk and would never commit such a heinous crime.
Kang Deok-Soo received a ten-year prison sentence. The court acknowledged his reduced emotional and physical capacity. This decision made Halmoni extremely angry. Ba-Reum sheds a tear while reading about the situation, feeling upset.
Ba-Reum visits Bong-Yi to check on her. While thinking about what Deok-Soo whispered to her, "I think about you when it rains," she uses up her energy boxing. Moo-Chi remembers the young Bong-Yi who gave him a 1,000 won bill and decides to fulfill his promise to kill Deok-Soo upon his release. Both men go to Deok-Soo's place, but Ba-Reum gets there first. Ba-Reum watches Deok-Soo through the window. He recalls Dong-Goo mentioning that he thought killing Hyung-Chul was a good thing because the bastard deserved to die. Moo-Chi arrives just as Ba-Reum leaves.
The detective wastes no time and punches Deok-Soo, who feigns ignorance about why he's here. Deok-Soo quietly shares what he said to Bong-Yi that night. Whatever it was causes Moo-Chi to be even angrier than before. He pins the criminal down and sticks the barrel of his gun to his head. At this moment, Deok-Soo's mother gets home, and Moo-Chi gets locked behind bars.
Deok-Soo pretends to live in atonement, so Team Leader Bok sends him home first. The criminal smirks at Moo-Chi before leaving, and the detective realizes he's been played. Shin Sang is asked for a favour since nobody will release him.
Meanwhile, Ba-Reum prepares for something, stocking up on tools like hammers and chains, dressed in black and working out. He waits until midnight to make his move. When he gets to Deok-Soo's place, he finds the convict foaming at the mouth with a suicide letter next to him. Ba-Reum brings him to the hospital. He believes that the atonement letter is proof that the convict has reformed and is not a psychopath.
The following day, Ba-Reum encounters his aunt who is struggling with a whining child. He learns that the child is his cousin, Hoon-Seok, who throws a tantrum because his mother refuses to buy him a cat. Ba-Reum treats him to some food. While the cousins interact, Ba-Reum's aunt watches from afar. Ba-Reum promises to show Hoon-Seok his cat when she gives birth.
Shin Sang visits Bong-Yi and hands her a taser, as instructed by Moo-Chi. He also informs her that he is in jail for attacking Deok-Soo, Bong-Yi discovers that it will rain this weekend and becomes anxious. Deok-Soo had whispered to her, "I'll come to your house when it rains." When Moo-Chi hears about the weather, he pleads to be let out, aware of what Deok-Soo said to Bong-Yi.
Ba-Reum arrives home to find that Butterfly has given birth. He grins and immediately calls Hoon-Seok to oshare the good news. Since his aunt is visiting "Jeju Halmoni" and the ajumma that Hoon-Seok is home with is sleeping, Ba-Reum decides to pick him up and gets his address. He finds it odd that they live in a different neighbourhood than he had originally thought.
Shin Sang heads out to film another episode but finds Deok-Soo's mother lingering outside the station. She apologizes for not raising Deok-Soo well. She also requests the release of Moo-Chi. Shin Sang hands the statement to Detective Ki from the Violent Crimes team because he is running late.
At the start of "Sherlock Hong-Joo", Bong-Yi purchases a new knife solemnly, and Ba-Reum picks up Hoon-Seok after leaving a note for his aunt. Shin Sang explains that the police force can individually monitor those who are not at high risk of being repeat offenders. Everyone is alert when a criminal is released, but after a year passes, people begin to relax and assume the criminal has been rehabilitated. According to him, this is the most dangerous time because they are waiting for the boundaries to lift so they can commit crimes again. Deok-Soo chuckles while hearing these statements and prepares to head out after getting a quick workout. Deok-Soo watches Bong-Yi walking home in the pouring rain, smiling. He receives a call from a probation officer who checks in and claims that he is just out at the pharmacy.
Hoon-Seok loves the kittens. He notes that Butterfly doesn't seem to like Ba-Reum, judging by how she hisses at him. Ba-Reum decides to cook a meal to change topics. During the meal, Yo-Han appears behind Hoon-Seok and tightens his hands around his neck. Ba-Reum freezes in shock.
The probation office receives notice that Deok-Soo's anklet is damaged and that he's on the move. This is breaking news. Bong-Yi, who was prepared with her new knife, breathes a sigh of relief, thinking that Deok-Soo ran away. She buys snacks from the convenience store and catches part of "Sherlock Hong-Joo". The shopkeeper tells her that Yoo-Na had been there earlier. Bong-Yi realizes something when Shin Sang claims that pedophiles never change and will always target children.
Ba-Reum fixes a clogged sink while Hoon-Seok pesters him to play. Ba-Reum's demeanor turns cold. Hoon-Seok runs off to play hide-and-seek, and Ba-Reum complains that he's noisy.
Meanwhile, Moo-Chi begs Detective Kang to let him out, claiming that Bong-Yi is in danger. He pleads with him to turn a blind eye and is willing to report that he stole the key himself. Detective Kang hands it over to him, but warns that he will lose his badge the moment he opens the door. Moo-Chi contemplates for a brief second before zooming down the stairs, past Detective Ki.
Ba-Reum searches while holding a wrench. As thunder rumbles outside, he sings a creepy version of the hide-and-seek song. Meanwhile, Bong-Yi enters Yoo-Na's home, where her mother is unconscious, and checks the phone that was left behind.
Deok-Soo carries a child on his shoulders. He had removed the child's anklet earlier that night using pliers. When Yoo-Na was sent to live with her father, Deok-Soo overheard Mom telling her to contact Bong-Yi if she needed anything. He searched for the phone number and sent a text to Yoo-Na, pretending to be Bong-Yi. The message claimed that Yoo-Na's mother was ill and that she needed to come home. Bong-Yi eventually realized that she was not the intended target, but rather Yoo-Na was. She reported this to the police. The officers responded to Bong-Yi's call, but Yoo-Na's mother informed them that her child was not missing, mistaking a pile of blankets for her daughter.
Moo-Chi and Hong-Joo rushed to Bong-Yi's neighbourhood, fearing for her safety. However, Moo-Chi's car crashed on the side of the road, and the man with the finger tattoo knocked him out from behind.
Meanwhile, Ba-Reum was in predator mode and eventually found Hoon-Seok hiding in the closet, fast asleep. As Hoon-Seok's phone lit up, Ba-Reum emotionlessly hit something repeatedly with his wrench while classical music played in the background.
Deok-Soo takes Yoo-Na to an empty field. However, Bong-Yi sneaks up and attacks him. The convict fights back, but Bong-Yi is unrelenting and hangs on for dear life. Ba-Reum arrives and Bong-Yi begs him to save Yoo-Na before passing out.
Following Daniel's advice, Ba-Reum attacks the pedophile to protect his loved ones from him.
