Going to nerd out for a second because while walking the beach this morning, I found this HUGE patch of Donax variabilis, or the coquina clam. Almost all of those little dots in the top left pic are the clams! These tiny clams are found in the intertidal and surf zone of the beach, and can be a bunch of colors. Juvenile fishes that live in the surf zone love to eat them!
