Canon compliant: this does not disagree with canon in any way (eg. character study of Kacchan during dark hero arc, anything during the 8 year time skip that has Kacchan saving up/Deku teaching)

Canon consistent: yeah that could more or less be canon (eg future pro heroes especially where deku keeps OFA)

Deku disappears in the middle of a rescue mission. Turns out, thanks to some OFA weirdness, the person who sent Izuku into an alternate universe… doesn’t know which one he’s in. Somehow, Izuku and Katsuki can speak in the OFA Vestige Realm, but it’s still a total nightmare trying to find which universe Izuku’s in — let alone bringing him home.

Number four pro hero Dynamight returns to his hometown, but — to (number five pro hero) Deku’s surprise — he’s kind of flaky now. Turns out, this is because he has a daughter, and they’ve only just escaped his abusive ex. Slowly, Katsuki and Deku grow close again, but everything’s complicated when they start work on a child kidnapping/trafficking case — especially when Katsuki’s daughter is caught up in it.

Halfway to the Moon (But the Sun is So Bright) by Catsired (105k, T, canon divergent)

CW: Graphic depictions of abuse and self harm; depressed & suicidal Izuku; physically, financially, emotionally and verbally abusive Hisashi; bullying; mild homophobia.

Major tags: Middle School AU, Slow burn, hurt/comfort, angst with a happy ending.

Izuku has a lot on his plate. It’s his final year of middle school and between his training with All Might, the part time job he’s picked up to help his mum with bills, and Kacchan… being Kacchan, he’s about ready to drop. And then his dad comes home, and his mum is so happy he can’t bear to tell her that Hisashi hits him. Meanwhile, Katsuki notices there’s something up with Shitty Deku and somehow decides it’s his responsibility to fix it. And maybe, as they grow closer, he finds that doesn’t hate Deku so much anymore. Maybe he never really did.

Surprise Reunions and Childhood Rekindlings by ladyofsnails (90k, G, AU)

Major tags: Slice of life, no quirks AU, uni/college AU, mutual pining, FLUFF.

Izuku and Katsuki haven’t seen each other in five years, but it turns out their friends are friends — and incredibly shocked (and concerned) when the first thing Katsuki and Izuku do upon meeting is start roughhousing. The two of them fall straight back into their chaotic childhood dynamic… and in love. Obviously.

After All We’ve Been Through (You get turned into a fucking rabbit) by TigerLilies64 (88k, E, switching, canon consistent).

Major tags: crack treated seriously, fluff, hurt/comfort.

Pro hero Deku gets hit by a quirk that turns him into a rabbit hybrid. To make matters worse, he shapeshifts into an actual rabbit when his heart rate gets too high. Kacchan... helps.

Tidal Hearts by macksmilesback and SamIsNotLegend (83k, T, AU)

Major tags: h2o just add water/early 2000s mermaid AU, high school drama, mild angst, fluff.

Izuku and Katsuki were best friends as kids, but that all changes after they nearly drown while swimming in the ocean and Inko moves her and Izuku away. Years later, they reunite, and after Katsuki saves Izuku from a nasty hazing prank, end up… growing a tail any time they get wet. Well, that’s one way to spend their senior year of high school!

The Spell in Her Name by MerryWeatherWeather (62k, E, top Katsuki, canon divergent)

CW: Past OC teacher/student relationship, past minor character death, past child abandonment.

Major tags: kidfic, domestic fluff, mutual pining, angst.

Pro hero Katsuki returns from working in the US and due to some complications, has nowhere to live, so pitches up at Deku’s house — and is shocked to discover that Deku has a child. Turns out, she was abandoned on his doorstep as a baby, and he took her in. When her mother initiates a public custody battle, Deku will do anything to keep his daughter — and Kacchan will do anything to help.

just for your love (I’ll give you the world) by thwnderpoint (52k, E, top deku, canon consistent)

Major tags: idiots to lovers, (light) angst with a happy ending, mutual pining.

Katsuki confesses to Izuku, and Izuku doesn’t want Kacchan to suffer or feel like he has to hold back his feelings. So he tells him not to. Kacchan takes this offer and runs with it. Izuku quickly realises that while he hadn’t considered Kacchan as a romantic option, he is in fact absolutely in love with him… but Kacchan thinks Izuku deserves better than him. Izuku, of course, can’t let that stand. And now they’re engaged in some sort of psychological flirt-off, much to the dismay of everyone around them.

Note: I LOVE the characterisation of Deku, he’s an absolute disaster, but I can see that it might be love it or hate it as the author does exaggerate his social issues a lot. This Deku is explicitly, intentionally autistic and it's a close third person POV so we're very much in his head... which is kind of a mess.

Pro hero Deku has PR crisis after PR crisis and now the whole world knows about his Dynamight thirst blog and he’s newly insecure about his bottom surgery. And for some reason, Kacchan won’t stop asking him (him!!) to join him for a photoshoot, as if Deku’s stupid ugly face won’t ruin everything again. Still, he can’t say no to Kacchan…

In Another Life by hollyandvice (44k, M, canon consistent)

Major tags: Parallel universes, grief/mourning, angst with a happy ending.

While fighting a villain, Kacchan disappears. Turns out, the villain has a parallel universe swapping quirk, and he was aiming to swap number one hero Deku for a quirkless civilian. Except, the only world the villain could find where Deku isn’t a hero is one where Kacchan is dead — so when Katsuki took the blow, no one swapped with him, and now no one knows how to get him back. Meanwhile, Katsuki discovers a dystopian world where half his friends are dead or injured — not to mention this world’s Deku, who is all sorts of broken up over meeting an adult Kacchan. Will he be able to fix the problems with this world before he gets home? And which world will he choose to stay in?

last days of war by antisora (44k, M, AU)

Major tags: Pacific Rim AU, Sci-Fi/Dystopian, angst with a happy ending, hurt/comfort, misunderstandings.

Note: I've never watched pacific rim and had no issues with understanding what was going on. Author said there were lots of references, but you don't need existing knowledge to enjoy this.

All Izuku’s ever wanted is to save the world with his best friend… but his life doesn’t seem to be headed in that direction, especially when he doesn’t make it through the physical entrance exam for the best Jaeger pilot training school, UA. But after seeing him ace a Kaiju simulation, the world’s greatest ranger, All Might, intervenes, and Izuku is able to enrol at UA after all. Unsurprisingly, Kacchan’s there too — and their drift compatibility is through the roof. Much to Izuku’s dismay, even piloting a Jaeger together isn’t enough to regain their close friendship as children. Will almost dying (twice) be enough for them to finally be truly honest with each other?

The Time Between Our Lives by Fitzrovia (36k (56k inc. sequels), E, switching, canon divergent and AU)

Deku and Kacchan are sent back in time by a villain’s quirk and end up in an abandoned temple, quirkless. In order to escape — and return to their old lives — they must rake the gravel in the garden into a design that shows the beauty of all life. It takes a very, very long time.

Spacewalk by SamIsNotLegend (35k, M, AU)

Major tags: Sci-Fi/Horror, angst w a happy ending, grief/mourning.

Astronauts Izuku and Katsuki are set to co-lead the first manned mission to Jupiter… but a year and a half before launch, Izuku is hit by a car and dies. Katsuki has to lead the mission — their mission — alone, and sure enough, everything goes wrong. And keeps going wrong… until it starts going right.

There he was: sitting splay-legged on the altar, one muddy combat boot propped up on the edge, with a self-satisfied grin on his face and a relaxed aura, in spite of the war raging outside. Izuku wasn’t sure what he’d expected to see his first day evacuating humans from the Rapture zone, but it sure as hell wasn’t a Demon with the same goal. A story about falling, in more ways than one.

author has a tumblr here, so make sure to give them a follow if you like this fic!

my notes: every day i cry that i'll never be able to read this for the first time ever again. jkjk, it's only been a couple days. this is definitely SUCH a good way to do demon!katsuki and angel!izuku. the worldbuilding is INCREDIBLE and i was waiting to be right about a lot of stuff. purely to encourage people to read this one, i'm not gonna say if i was right or not about any of those things, but this one is popular for a REASON. AND!!!! the author just posted a new bkdk fic according to my email i use for my ao3 account! honestly, i legitimately hadn't checked what else the author had written until writing this rec, so expect another bkdk fic rec from this author soon!

the author has a really really fun way of capturing how izuku and katsuki (and others) would most likely act in this sort of au. it feels so realistic, and there's some really fun twists and turns in this one. it's absolutely angst with a happy ending. the hurt comfort is REAL with this one, as well as the more... rating specific tags tumblr will get mad at me for using lol.

i'm still remembering little easter eggs after a couple weeks, if only because those easter eggs are woven into the story so well you don't really think of them as easter eggs. and honestly i might be wrong about some of them, but i 100% blame that on ME not being caught up in the anime yet haha. remember to leave kudos, comment, etc on this one if you liked it, and...

this is so bkdk coded, i can imagine a party dorm, everybody laughing, izuku just has that glow that makes everyone have a good time for as long as he keeps smiling, bakugo pretending to be annoying but he's not immune to that effect, he just hides it better (sometimes)

"how you'd kiss me when I was in the middle of saying something there's not a day I don't miss those rude interruptions"

this is simple, bakugo kissing izuku mid rants, he loves it, izuku secretly loves it, and they both know it

"all that i know is that I don't know how to be something you miss"

unlike what i think most people would think, i can see this being from bakugo's perspective, even if he "pushes" deku away and if izuku ever complied to it, i don't think bakugo would contain himself, he would somehow make himself present again just because i think he would not handle well not being a big part of izuku's life

"and i fewl you forget me like i used to feel you breathe and I'll keep up with our old friends just to ask them how you are"

now that'd very deku coded, if katsuki seriously asked him to stay away, he would... it would be the hardest thing he would do but he wouldn't disrespect him like that, but the pining and longing would be there, asking the bakusquad how he's doing and just content with getting glimpses of him

"but I never planned on you changing your mind"

i don't like angst like that but it just comes easy when I think about these two... this line feels like bakugo when he realizes that izulu inevitably moved on. when he finally realizes that he wants deku no matter what, he can't have him anymore, he never counted on izuku being the one to say the final no, he thought he would always be a constant, waiting but he was wrong

i wanted to end in a good not but the song is sad as fuck so don't blame me !! let's hope Speak Now Taylor's Version drops soon guys!

Can I ask your top 10 fav fics ever (from any fandom, if you don't mind)?

Also, just curious, is there a story behind your name "dodz107"?

I'm so sorry. I'm only just now seeing this!

My top 10 fics in any fandom would be a very hard choice. I think I might have to go with Top 5 because I honestly don't know if I could go through all of my bookmarks atm. They aren't in any order of favorite to least favorite because honestly, I don't think I could choose.

1. "victory tastes sweeter when i'm with you" by curovogel. It's a Soriku fic and although it is a oneshot (21k words to be specific) it's incredibly dear to me seeing as it was one of the first soriku fics I read upon really getting into Kingdom Hearts in 2019.

2. "Tempo" and its companion "Movement" by foxdreams. These are yet again Soriku fics. I'm not usually one for reading non canon compliant stories, but this one was honestly such a beautiful read. I think it captured their personalities very well!

3. "discriminating taste" by Jenanigans1207. This one is a bkdk fic. The concept is just *mwah* chefs kiss. I'm a sucker for social media being involved, and this one is exactly that. It's not complete, and it's been a while since we've got an update, but I have trust!!

4. "go west" by ssstrychnine. This a Reddie fic and my goodness if you've seen the art for this made by someone on here that I do not remember the name of, then you know this one is good!!

5. "it's always been who is spider-man and never how is spider-man" by i_regret_thatpersonalityquiz. This one has Parkner in it, but I came for the Peter Parker angst. I actually didn't know what parkner was before this fic, sooooo... ANYWAY. If you want angst and whump and found family and overall cheese, then this is the fic for you!

honorable mention to the first fanfic I ever read in 2017 on quotev. Idk where it is now, and I doubt I could find it, but it was Percabeth and set in the 1960s.

Now, onto my username. I had gone through a lot of usernames in the past most all of them including the word "art" or "doodling" or having a combination of my lucky number (10) and my favorite number (7) (not counting my old wattpad account in 2018 that has since been deleted going by the name "EverythingInBetween"). In 2021, I made 3 online friends in the content creator "Ranboo" s discord server. My name at the time was "Doodlezly," but they wanted to call me by a nickname. So they started brainstorming things like ly (pronounced lee) lez and Doodz. I thought doodz was weird, but then I had a vision and took one of the O's away. Hence the name Dodz. Most of my accounts now are under the name "dodzishere," but its og form is Dodz107. OH!! And it's pronounced "Dahdz" kinda how you say dots but with a d instead of a t.

hey! if you want me to write a fic for you i will, but there are specifics so i'm making this post to explain them. if you want me to write a fic for you (please send requests i love writing) here are the specifics!

first, please remember that I'm a minor! please keep requests sfw

i write everything for FREE, but that means i have more reign over what i will and won't write, time constraints, deadlines, etc.

I'm currently writing for bnha. i write for multiple ships, but mostly bkdk. i'd prefer requests for bkdk simply because i have the most motivation to write for them and i really want to be able to write for you if you ask! todobaku and kacchako are also okay. however, if i can't write anything for any reason, i will refuse and most likely tell you why unless i'm not comfortable explaining.

anything i write will be in between 1-5k unless you request something shorter or i end up writing something longer. please don't ask for a specific word count, otherwise the fic won't turn out good.

I post everything i write on AO3, and if you have an AO3 i can gift the fic to you on there, or just link your tumblr in the notes. if you're anonymous then i'll just post it on AO3 and say that it was written for someone else. i will also link the fic in a tumblr post when i finish. i can't guarantee a specific date for when i'll finish your fic, but i will try and give you a general range (1-2 weeks, a month, etc).
