Hey friendly reminder NOT to repost art

Seeing an alarming amount of this in the Good Omens spaces on here, as well as others of course, but - if you like an art you saw on another site, TRY and find the artist on here before just reposting the art! It's great to want to share an awesome painting, but it's important to make sure the artist that made the thing gets credit and linked.

There are SO many reposted copies of art with no credit, many with WAY more notes than the original artist's post! It's a huge bummer for artists online and makes it easier for their work to be outright stolen.

And if you see some art on here that you love and want to reblog? Take a sec to make sure the other art on the blog seems consistent, make sure it reads like it's not a hasty paste-and-post, to avoid accidentally boosting stolen/reposted work.

Kinda annoying that some people are adament that you can't be innocent in that tntduo art redraw trend.... I'm NOT ON twitter. At all. I use Instagram about 2-3 times a week so I never encountered the OP. The first time I saw it was about two weeks ago, in a screenshot with all the names cut off. Because I found it hard to believe that someone would say something so rude on someone else's art, I thought the request for "a better artist" to redraw it and was from the OP - I actually interpreted the trend as kinda wholesome, glossing up an amatuer artist's work to fulfill their vision and showing them what they could be one day. It's not unlikely I would have attempted it too if I wasn't in the middle of another art piece. Seriously, I do not find it impossible that some of the artists on Instagram or Tumblr had this same experience. (In fact, I just saw a PSA on Instagram gaining traction, indicating that many people there didn't know at all.) Stop trying to indict everyone just because twitter is a hellhole of the worst people on earth...

Apparently much-needed reminder that reposting artists' art (by saving the images or screenshotting them and reuploading them yourself) on other platforms without the artists' expressed permission and without credit is theft and an insult to their passion and craft. You are profiting (in views, in attention, in feedback) from someone else's work and ideas, who do not get that feedback for sharing their creation.

If you are an art reposter, you are a thief and I have no respect for you.
