fine okay i'll admit it: maybe the five uninterrupted days i had to spend with my family this month were bad for my mental health. maybe i'm feeling weird and sensitive right now because i had to talk to my mom and she hurt my feelings. i am not actually over anything i thought i'd finally gotten over. maybe i got out of the washing machine for a little bit before being thrown back in, now sopping wet from the dirty brackish water i let fester in there. whatever. i'm very normal.

this is a bullshit idea for so so so many reasons including but not limited to the fallacy that approaches to judging fictional characters has anything to do with irl ethical behavioral standards, but i do sometimes think it would be funny to trawl the blogs of people who insist that one is morally obligated to choose hardship or death over the suffering of others and see if they are like. buying chocolate regularly. polyester clothing. things that are fun and cheap but that are known to be produced using slave labor, child labor, or severe exploitation and horrific working conditions. how many layers of distance and alienation from the consequences of your actions does it take to absolve you. how many other hands at work are required before your choice to increase human suffering for your own convenience or pleasure is value neutral.

and like again. this is bullshit. because how one feels about a particular story component has literally no bearing (mostly -- i do think when you have situations like extremely misogynistic men whose favorite authors are the midcentury misogynists and who find it impossible to see female characters as anything other than objects, this is a reflection of their real life beliefs and behavior. this is not what i’m talking about here though.) on one’s real life ethical behavioral standards. i often think individual characters should be allowed to murder whoever they want including their kids. real life me does not find real life infanticide funny or satisfying. but also it’s, again, tempting

I’m having such a hard time reading at the moment and I’m trying not to stress out about it coz this is a hobby and I’m meant to just have fun but it’s so confusing not knowing whether I’m just in a slump, or if it’s seasonal depression kicking in, or if I’m just in a funny mood and the books I have on hand aren’t the right ones for me right now

and I try to keep reminding myself that I’m allowed to not want to read, especially since I’m having a hard week emotionally, but it’s so hard to distract myself from that stuff when I can’t read to escape >.<

Reblog the fundraisers you mfs!!!!! I don't know why you all skip those to reblog some pic of a banner saying "FREE PALESTINE" or of news from Columbia University! Literally these people from Gaza have made an account on Tumblr and is writing in english to communicate what they need and you all are coming onto my blog or on the tag and not reblogging their posts. We have people both Palestinian and non Palestinian vetting the fundraisers! I mean more the reblogs, more the chance of the fundraisers gaining momemtum, the more there would be a chance of a donation. Please donate if you can and reblog!!! and follow them if it is possible.

@/mohammedayesh has posted about getting leaflets, telling them to evacuate Rafah. They are very low on funds. Go follow them and reblog their posts and donate if possible.

We have @/haneenatya too whose mother is suffering from eye stroke and need to evacuate. Please I have been following them for some days and it doesn't seem their own posts are getting much attention.

Follow them! They are on tumblr. Reblog their posts and donate. The protests in universities are being done on account of them. They should be our focus.

See how in 2023 almost all of the reblogs come from the OP, from their few hours/days in the tag search. Meanwhile in 2014 the % of reblogs from OP is insignificant, because most of the reblogs come from the reblogs within the fandom, within the micro-communities formed there. You didn't need to rely on tags, or search, or being featured. Because the community took care of you, made sure to pass the work between themselves and onto their blog and exposed their followers to it. It kept works alive for years.

It's not JUST the reblog/like ratio that causing this issue, it's the type of interaction people have. They're content with scrolling and liking the search engine, instead of actually having a reblogging relationship with other blogs in their community.

Anyways, if you want to see more content you like, the only true way to make it happen is to reblog it. Likes do not forward content in no way but making OP feel nice. Reblogs on the other hand make content eternal. They make it relevant, they make it exist outside of a fickle tumblr search that hardly works on the best of days.

If you want more of something, reblog it.

Comments on erotica are so funny because a lot of the people in those sections are trying to compliment the author without directly saying "awesome job, I jacked it to this!"

I always wondered why they don't nickname Chilchuck to "Chil". Because Chilchuck is quite a long name, it's way easier calling him just Chil. And then this.

It's all the opposite of how it would normally work. Usually, people call each other by their first (or second sometimes) names, but when they're called by the full thing... it means either nothing good is happening, or they're being called in a formal way.

Isn't imposible to think that the party actually called him Chil, since it's his first name and a nice nickname for him. In fact, they probably did, and Chilchuck told them they shouldn't call him that and explained why. They stopped calling him Chil, and accepted calling him Chilchuck for the rest of their lifes, apparently. Actually, we don't see anybody calling him like that until...

Laios tries to get his attention with something that normally would. Calling him his first name, something that he told them specifically not to do doesn't even makes him flinch. And then he's sure that Chilchuck is out of it and proceeds to intervene.

It's such a subtle detail, I don't remember if they call him "Chil" on other panels, if they do, reblog with evidence so we have all the oficial Chil moments here.
