Honestly I'd argue that currently BIDEN is more responsible for the current death long covid and sickness count. And that's not to downplay what likely will happen in the future, but it was FUCKING INFURIATING how they dropped all covid restrictions way too soon because it wasn't Trump insisting on it, it therefore wouldn't look bad to go "back to normal", the lives of vulnerable civilians be damned. And while I'm sure things will get worse again in the future, especially considering we've now got fucking bird flu to be worried about, Biden's part in the spread of covid in this country should not be downplayed.

Anyways at least do your part in protecting you, your loved ones, and anyone else you come into contact with as well as anyone that person comes in contact with and wear your fucking mask. Surgical masks are good and effective but N95/KN95 masks offer so much more protection. General cloth masks don't give much protection at all so if you want a non-disposable one seek out one that offers actual protection.

Get vaccinated. The CDC said that generally you should be vaxxed about every 8 weeks. With RFK Jr. now heading the CDC you should do this sooner rather than later.

Don't eat out at restaurants, get takeout/ delivery or if you're able to, make something at home. I shouldn't have to explain how eating out is a fucking stupid idea but I can't even get my parents to get it through their thick skulls so if you don't get it, when you eat in public, you need to take off your mask. And around other unmasked people covid can spread. Even if you are vaccinated it you can still spread covid, even if you don't have any symptoms. And eventually it could get to someone who's either not vaccinated or immunocompromised and give them the permanent disability of long covid, or kill them.

As for bird flu, while there currently haven't been any cases of it being transmitted from human to human, humans have still gotten it from birds (wild and domestic). Cows have also been documented getting it. Also cats are extremely susceptible to bird flu and there have been several cases of them dying from it. So keep your cats indoors. There already are a bunch more reasons to keep them indoors but this is currently the most dire. Bird flu is already a big reason why eggs are so damn expensive right now. It's because captive birds keep getting it, leading to the farmers having no choice but to kill their entire flock. And let's not forget the whole bird flu thing got it's start under Biden who proceeded to just ignore it. And yes Trump will make it worse, there's no doubt about that, but we cannot forget Biden's part in all of this either.

He coughed, and shuffled the paper over to look at you. He had taken off his jacket and dress shirt, and pulled out his poker face, grinning at you. Seeing him in his tank top, with his thick, aged arms and chest hair peeking out made you blush a little until your stomach growled.

"Damn, I thought it was up for grabs," and he pulled your bag out from behind the paper, turning enough that he had his legs spread in his suit pants. Your eyes shifted from your bag with the sub, to the salami bulging in his lap. "Ya gonna take it or not?"

You snatched it up, and he chuckled, with deep smile lines and crow's feet sneaking out and showing his age. "Eat your lunch, Red. You're gettin' a little feisty, and need to calm down."

"Don't even start with me, Mr. Pines," you snapped. "This heat and forgetting to eat breakfast is already bad enough. I feel lightheaded as shit."

Mr. Pines eyebrow went up slightly. "Y'know, if ya didn't do your job so well, I'd fire ya....But no one else in town would take ya!" And he started howling. "I need to go freshen up for the next bunch of suckers comin'....Look alive, Red."

look, not to be a hater but the whole ekko/jinx alternate universe situation only proves that jinx was only ever loved entirely and completely by silco, that's kinda the point of how tragic jinx really is as a character,

vi either only sees her little sister out of guilt/sense of duty mixed with a desperate need to come back to something or as consequences to her own actions(taking away agency from jinx in the process);

ekko sees her through the eyes of an idealist which is exactly what he is and that's not bad by itself, but it makes her either A Problem or Someone That Needs Saving, that's what's going on in his head after that AU he transported to. he's comparing jinx to powder and he likes powder much better, so he wants jinx to be powder or to reignite the powder in her - basically, he thinks how vi used to think;

isha is a complicated matter because she did show kindness and affection towards jinx that wasn't equal to anyone else's, it was pure and idolizing, she loved what she knew of jinx.

the people of zaun don't love her, not by a long shot. she became a symbol to some(as we can notice in the reunion by vander's statue) and overall the assumption that she would get involved more after her attack and silco's death is a fair one; that doesn't mean they like her,

sevika maintains a connection to jinx through grief and a sense of helplessness along with familiarity, silco's death affected jinx's psyche but it also affected sevika's dream of zaun, they feel left behind by him;

vander... well, he only got to see powder and warwick quite literally just had the memories,

the ONLY character we see that meets her as powder and stays with her as jinx is silco; yes, he isn't a good guy and he does cause the whole separation, he sharpened her edges to make her into a weapon, he lied to her and manipulated her at times, none of these things exclude the fact he does love her so strongly, with zero conditions.

she fucks up in missions, she does as she pleases around zaun, she kills their people, she stabs him in the eye, has psychotic episodes and breakdowns, she kidnaps him, ties him down, SHOOTS HIM, she doubts him and his love, keeps running after the past when he's done everything to strengthen her and she was, at a point, the only thing keeping him from his dream of an independent zaun - none of these perceived sins and flaws made him wish for anyone other than her, as she is.

all silco wanted was to keep her, while everyone else either wants another version of her or none at all. that's the tragic part, even if she suddenly decided to be good, she would feel like a burden for not being entirely like people want her to be.

maybe it's from the particularly acute disappointment of marc injuring himself at the sachsenring but this weekend (so far) has made me feel incredibly nervous for marc's future. like no guarantees of course but if marc was going to win anywhere this year (when the gap between the gp23 and gp24 is increasingly obvious, as you mentioned) it was going to be here. and i'm definitely overreacting because i'm emotional about it but it feels like him hurting himself here feels like a bad sign not just for this year but for the future at large. because it's a reminder that his body can't handle the riding style that used to take him so far. scary!

honestly with marc I've now swung so often and so far between 'it's so over' and 'we've never been more back' that I've gotten to an exciting point of. well. I suppose we'll have to see. I mean look, back in that jerez to catalunya stretch it did look like he might be able to be a serious title contender this season. at risk of making myself look like an idiot, I think we can pretty safely conclude that's not happening this year. but y'know, broadly what he needs to do is to figure his shit out for the rest of the year... like he kinda needs to just understand what this version of him can do under what circumstances. the thing about winning is that it's also a habit, it's something that becomes essentially muscle memory, you need to kinda have that reflexive understanding of how you've done it in the past - both in the context of races and titles. and it's still in there for him!! but he's just got to... take the rest of the season to chip away at the gap. currently, pecco and jorge don't just have the edge on him in pace, they have the edge on him in process. that's not just the bike, though it is also affected by marc being less familiar with the ducati. but pecco and jorge have just kind of gotten to the point where they know how to approach most weekends in a way where, more often or not, they will kinda maximise what was on offer for them that weekend. sometimes they chuck it down the road! but in terms of pure pace potential, right now they're getting to the point where they're there. marc is just a series of 'what ifs'. they're not all his fault, he's gotten unlucky, he's in a tough situation, he's still getting used to the new tracks on a ducati etc etc etc... but that's what this year is for. figure out the process, figure out how you actually go about getting wins in the current era - keeping your physical condition in mind - and take it from there

the physical stuff is the... yeah. the thing is, I do think he is capable of winning without all this crashing to figure out the limit. honestly, this approach of his made me deeply uneasy well well before what happened at jerez 2020. that injury and aborted comeback didn't feel like a fluke, it didn't feel like bad luck - in an awful way, it did feel like it had been a long time coming. that being said... well, y'know, marc was the only one who could win titles on the late 2010s honda, and part of the reason for that was that he figured out how to get a capricious bike just to the limit during races. you do not need to chuck the bike down the road fifty times per season to win the title on the ducati. pecco and jorge have very much shown that. sometimes it will just be dumb luck who gets injured or not! the sachsenring crash yesterday you can't really put down to marc being stupid or being irresponsible. he was hardly the only one who fell, weather conditions were tricky, shit does happen (not ideal that he tried to save the crash specifically because he knew his other bike had problems, plus the thing where he went out again before going to the medical centre, mind you). sometimes you fall a lot and you're fine, like marc for most of his prime. sometimes you crash at the start of the race and fall in front of the pack and your survival is up to fate. which is of course what happened last year to pecco, still one of the scariest crashes I've ever seen live in terms of crashes where you really do think you just got very very close to watching someone be killed in real time. this is the thing, right... at the end of the day, you can hope that marc finds an approach that relatively minimises the risk to his body - but also, you can only control so much. especially with where his body is at right now, there's only so many bad knocks you can take. you never know, you can only hope

overall, I have been thinking for a while that it's almost a bit... odd? how the physical stuff hasn't really featured at all in 2025-26 hot takes? I reckon people don't really want to think about it playing a big role, and also I suppose 'well one of them could get injured' is treated as just an underlying assumption of following motorcycle racing... but like we saw with catalunya last year, it's not just stuff that takes you out for ten races that can have big title race repercussions. especially given how marc traditionally went about winning titles, how big a part of that process it was for him. we've had such an incredible lucky streak from the start of the season until mugello that being afraid of injuries has almost... receded a little bit? in everyone's minds? after last year, in particular, where it just felt like you were always worrying about someone, it was just so relentless... and now injury worries have just come back with a vengeance these last few weeks and it is a little scary. a lot of this is scary. no real escaping it I'm afraid
