"Gosh, I'm sorry," said Nijel, as the guards seemed to realize that the entertainment was over and closed in for the kill.
"Don't blame yourself--" said Rincewind, as Nijel reached up and tried unsuccessfully to free the blade.
"Thank you."
"--I'll do it for you."

It is something that happened to you.
It is something that can have a big impact on you.
But it was not because of you.
And it doesn’t define you or your self-worth.

"Do you feel like I failed you?" [Feixiao @ Jiaoqiu, yes/no meme]
yes or no game // accepting
his answer is almost instantaneous. he doesn't even hesitate, because he believes it to be true, "no, of course not."

I think if you spend most of your time on a computer you kinda owe it to yourself to learn how it works and, probably, to at least try to use Linux when possible. I honestly see it as a bit of a self respect thing? Like, are you seriously content with spending your entire day in front of a black box that's actively working against you? Seriously?
The contempt with which some people treat the mere idea of trying Linux/FOSS really irritates me, idk. Like, yeah, congrats on the superiority complex about your willful ignorance re: the tool you spend your entire day working with, asshole.
(Despite what you have doubtlessly been told, you can do art video production music production and play videogames on linux with either native tools or seamless compatibility layers. I will admit there are some compromises where dual booting or virtualization could make sense, though, but they're less every day)

I do not know what Max Verstappen was about to say to Charles Leclerc at this moment, but based on the face he's making I'm gonna guess it was along the lines of "Hey, I have a can of red bull with your name written on it in my room. Wanna come have a drink?"

This is purely speculation on my end, but I've noticed that it seems like people (specifically younger queer people, partially under forty) are so used to queerphobes indignantly saying, "you have the right to marry, what more can you want?! Why do you shove it down our throats?!" that they internalize the idea that gay marriage and other rights were only fought for for queer assimilation.
The push for things like gay marriage wasn't just "to assimilate," and especially after the AIDs crisis, you very well could watch your lover or friend or mentor die in front of you and have no recourse. No protections. No guarantee that you could even say goodbye. Learning that - as a young queer myself - hammered home how important these things can be. To get where we are now didn't happen because of the magical benevolence of the cishets. We fought for that shit. We died for that shit.
Again, this is speculation, but I don't think young queers (even me) will truly understand the scope of queer history. It takes effort to learn about this, but it is an effort worth pursuing every single time. At the least, we owe it to honour the people who came before us who have sacrificed so much. We owe our communities that much, at least.

Hey hi the indoor wasps are becoming a problem can you please send me all your home remedies for wasps in your home one just tried to crawl down my shirt (I don't get *that* many wasps in my house but like I would like less wasps inside my house. Preferably no wasps! I stayed calm when it was on my shirt but when it tried to crawl down my shirt I was no longer calm) (the wasp was caught (not in my shirt) and safely brought outside)

god it's so baffling to me to see people agonize over calling themselves furries or whether or not they fit the definition or just going on bizarre journeys to "find" if they're furries or not or whether or not they can ever call themselves a furry or if they're a furry in their souls.
when like. notoriously, the only thing that you need to call yourself a furry is to like anthropomorphic* animals**.
(* does not need to be anthropomorphic)
(** does not need to be animals)

The majority of sexual harassment cases involve some kind of complication.
Maybe you dated the person, flirted with them, or had sex with them before.
Maybe you knew or suspected that they had a history of being inappropriate with others.
Maybe you’ve always looked up to this person, considered them a friend, a mentor, or someone who’s helped you a lot in the past.
Maybe it’s happened more than once.
Maybe when it happened you didn’t know how to react so you didn’t say anything.
Maybe after it happened you acted overly nice to the person or reassured them it wasn’t a big deal.
Maybe the person isn’t the kind of person we think a harasser is: they’re someone really respected in society or more attractive than you or physically smaller or female. So you or others have a hard time believing that person could hurt you.
Maybe you really like the person for other reasons and feel torn about seeing them as someone who’s hurt you.
It’s important to know that it’s not unusual if your situation feels more complicated.
In fact, that is the more common situation.

Just like that? He unties himself? I always assumed that, realizing he'd majorly screwed up, Eurylochus or one of the men cut him loose.
Ody, if you could untie yourself that whole time, why the f*ck didn't you do it before they killed the cow?
