Bell ringers are coming out so remember to research the charities you give to or directly give to those in need rather then give through the Salvation Army
Give here instead
Also donate food, resources and funds to your local animal shelter, food banks and homeless shelters if you have the means
#this is in no way guilting people to donate#only give if you have the means#i know it’s hard for everyone right now#but also don’t donate to the Salvation Army pls#also donate directly instead of giving tax breaks to large corporations

I should add that she was interviewed about the performance next to a sparkly sign for the Salvation Army 🙄
She donated 1 million dollars 💵
A lot of people are talking about Dolly Parton wearing a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader costume to do a halftime show today. I just hate that when they saw it ALL of the women in my family started developing body image issues and immediately started talking about how they need to lose weight 😢.
It was honestly sad like she has had SO much plastic surgery and was clearly wearing a body suit and stockings her waist and legs DO. NOT. LOOK. LIKE. THAT.

Thrift stores in the US can be different sizes, but the ones that are chains (Goodwill, Salvation Army and I’m sure a few others) are the size of a grocery store sometimes. Non-chain stores are usually smaller because they don’t have the same kind of overhead, but even that isn’t always the case.
That is truly wild.
Like average charity shop in the UK:
And even like chain charity shops are small. I don't know if Count Air Ambulance is a chain shop but British Heart Foundation is:
Ours are uniformly tiny. I'm not sure you could even get a trolley in most of them.
This charity shop in Bristol has been described as "spacious":
and you know what? That's correct! That's a damn spacious charity shop. That's one of the biggest charity shops I've ever seen.
How on earth do y'all have thrift shops the same size as grocery shops? How do you even have enough donations to fit a shop that big?

More Spider-Verse x Psych Incorrect Quotes
Hobie: Hey Miguel, collecting donations for the Spider-Man ball?
Miguel: We don’t have balls
Hobie:
Miguel:
Hobie: I honestly don’t have a response to that
Peter B: Guys, please. We need a better name for someone who is both a killer AND an arsonist. How about “Arssassin”?
*later*
Miguel: This could be our killer
Peter B: Furderer
Miguel: …what?
Peter B: Fire murderer. Furderer.
Gwen: You’re acting like a child
Peter B: I AM NOT ACTING
Miles: Gwen? What are you doing in Earth-1610?
Gwen: I should ask you the same question
Miles: I live here
Gwen: I should ask you a different question
Jeff: You think someone planted this on the body?
Miles *as Spider-Man*: No, I think someone put it there on purpose
Jeff: That’s what I said
Miles: But mine wasn’t a question, so it came from a place of power
Miguel: I need to get something off my chest
Lyla: Is it your shirt? Please say no
Miles: I’m a man of untold mystery, that’s why my friends call me ‘M’
Gwen: Really? I thought they called you ‘Millimeter’
Miles: Don’t ever say that name. Besides, I know it was you who started that
Miguel: It has come to my attention that a major financial institution has been destroyed in each of your last four missions
Hobie: Thank you
Miguel: That wasn’t a compliment
Miles: Great, now you’ve gotten me kicked out of a funeral. Add it to the list. Kicked out of a pet store, kicked out of Santa’s Village, kicked out of the Salvation Army
Peter B: Dishonorably discharged!
Pav: *leaning well into Hobie’s personal space and whispering* …are you doing anything Friday?
Hobie: You want me to come with you to awkward class?
Gwen: What part of “stay put” is confusing to you?
Miles: The “put” part. I wasn’t “put” in the first place, the whole expression is a complete disaster
Miles: Gwen, that group of Spider-People just said hi to you
Gwen: Uh, I don’t know those guys
Miles: They looked right at you
Gwen: They were mistaken
Miles: They said ‘Hi, Gwen.’ Then the dude on the horse gave you a half-nod!

♥️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤
In case you haven’t told yourself yet today,
YOU ARE ONE SEXYYYY BITCH
who is worthy of all the magical things this universe has to offer
soak up all the love you can without shame because YOU DESERVE IT
you bring something unique to the world just by existing. nobody can replace you.
& that makes you pretty damn special…
so in case you haven’t been told lately you are deserving of all the love & sunshine that comes your way
be proud of who you are. and if you are currently in a situation where you can’t yet be your true self safely, please take time to find solace in support groups online to help. you are not alone. people are fighting for you every day. soon you’ll be able to shine your brightest self. but PLEASE be safe…
At the bottom of this post is a link to resources available for the LGBTQ community.
PEOPLE ARE HERE FOR YOU all you have to do is reach out!!!!! That is the hardest part. there are people waiting to love ur unique special self. there are people who understand you and don’t want to change you. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤
****if you are in the USA, you can save a life by letting people know they can CALL or TEXT 988 to get in direct contact with mental health crisis support professionals. it’s completely CONFIDENTIAL******
for anyone wanting to support your community, there are many ways to do so. an easy one is instead of taking donations to Good Will or Salvation Army, look up places to donate to within your community that go DIRECTLY to those in need instead of to corporations that then sell them. I personally donate to the youth homeless shelter in my area.
You can always call these places within your communities and ask what they need. Lots of times socks and underwear are afterthoughts that are needed. If you don’t have funds, you could volunteer.
These acts of love are easy way to show love for another. It means the world.
you are loved. keep going. do something nice for someone no matter how “small” it seems it can be a life changing impact on someone else.
everyone deserves to feel like the bad bitch they are.
~HAPPY PRIDE YALL!!!!!!! ~
❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤

Every year I forget that I can’t go to a grocery store, mall, or shopping plaza between Thanksgiving and Christmas because it’s Salvation-Army-Jackasses-Whaling-On-The-Bell-Like-There’s-A-Four-Alarm-Fire-And-They-Need-To-Hear-It-In-The-Next-County Season and oh, dear Satan, my teeth are still vibrating half an hour after I got home.
Even if I wanted to donate to their horrible organization, which I don’t, I wouldn’t do it JUST because they think it’s OK to make themselves into a public menace for a month every winter. They ought to be donating to me.

I genuinely want to know how Chick-fil-a is actively “grossly against the lgbt” besides the claims of donating to anti-lgbt groups in the past (exodus I totally understand being upset about but salvation army?)
It’s always been clear that CFA holds traditional Christian values — ones that don’t line up with queer values. I mean they advertise their religious programs pretty openly.
Sonic? Do I want to starve in 10 days or die of grease in 3 days??
#I’m not trying to stop people from boycotting cfa#but i’d like to eat my chicken minis in peace gods dammit#also boycotting your local cfa affects the honest working people who own that location more than the higher ups#because they just pay for the right to sell the product#this is basically how all chains work#so by “sticking it to the man and eating the rich” you’re really just sending a random middle class guy named jeremy to an early grave#from all the stress of having to lay off the new 16 year old hire that’s been working the max amount of hours#and doing his homework during breaks#because his parents are struggling to make ends meet and could really use the income#my dad was that teen#he’s my hero

I think people are free to choose whatever charities they want or whatever but I think the issue with stuff like “don’t donate to salvation army!” is like…sometimes that’s the only charity in an area. I don’t agree with all of their policies, but also the local people do need their aid still.
Not every town/city is a big city like New York City or Austin. A lot of smaller towns depend on places like Salvation Army because it’s the *only* option.

a victim COMPLEX isn’t about whether you’re a victim or a survivor. it’s about your mental framing when engaging with the world, and you reek of stagnating self-pity.
i can’t “virtue signal” on anon, no one knows who i am (because we’re in the same circles and everyone else is too pitying to stop indulging you) so there’s no signal to gain value from issuing. i know you dropped out in middle school but c’mon
and please enlighten everyone about these “private manners” hundreds of thousands of people are all individually pursuing to get help escaping a country with one accessible border at a steep cost. tell us what you’d do :) or is it just that you imagine there must be options?
being poor in the US is not the universal poverty experience, they can’t fucking call the local churches and ask about the food bank hours or slip behind the salvation army at night to steal clothing donations lmao
it’s okay to admit you’re too self-involved to know anything about the rest of the world, but it’s unfathomably selfish to say “ongoing genocide survivors are insensitive for asking me for help, don’t they know my parents didn’t love me? i have it harder”
this is so dumb, just block me. who cares this hard. dropped out in middle school? circle? ma’am this is tumblr dot com. no one cares.
there’s a war in venezuela. no open borders. no one can leave. constant war. constant ppl dying. i dont see anyone from there mass sending bot and scam messages to get funds from ppl on tumblrrrr. just… realize there’s so much going on in so many diff areas. you act like we are so privileged bc we can go to a church and get gmo canned corn like hello. also, yes, there’s ppl privately asking for help, real genuine ppl, from all over the world, struggling and communicating instead of mass copy messaging ppl. just bc someone disagrees with u and has a brain to see sketchy situations, doesn’t mean you get to insult and attack another person. it just shows ur ass.

In this blog post, we’ll guide you through the steps on how to apply for a donated car in the UK free of charge. Whether you're facing hardship or simply looking for assistance, read on to discover your options and start your journey towards mobility today!
Applying for a donated car in the UK is simpler than you might think. Start by researching local charities and organizations that offer vehicle donation programs, such as Oxfam, Goodwill, or the Salvation Army. Each has its own application process, so visit their websites for specific guidelines. Once you've identified potential sources, gather necessary documents like proof of income or residency. Fill out the application forms accurately and be prepared to explain your situation. Many organizations assess needs on a case-by-case basis to ensure assistance goes to those who truly require it.
Donating your vehicle is easy
Donating your vehicle is a straightforward process that can make a significant difference. Most charities have simple online forms or phone lines to guide you through each step. You provide basic information about the car, and they handle the rest. Many organizations offer free towing services, so you don’t need to worry about how to get it there. Plus, donating brings peace of mind knowing you're contributing to a worthy cause while helping yourself with potential tax deductions. It’s an easy way to give back and clear out space at home too!
Why donate a vehicle to Oxfam?
Donating a vehicle to Oxfam is a meaningful way to support global causes. Your contribution helps fund vital programs that fight poverty and promote sustainable development. Each car donation translates into resources for projects aimed at improving education, healthcare, and livelihoods in disadvantaged communities. Additionally, donating your vehicle offers environmental benefits. It encourages recycling and reduces waste while providing Oxfam with the means to sell or repurpose the vehicle. This not only supports their mission but also aligns with eco-conscious values by giving new life to something you no longer need.
What we can sell in our shops
In our shops, you can find a diverse range of items that have been generously donated. From clothing and accessories to homeware and furniture, each piece carries its own story. Shoppers appreciate unique finds while supporting a good cause. Additionally, we offer books, toys, and vintage collectibles that appeal to various tastes. Every item sold helps fund vital services in the community. When you shop with us, you're not just purchasing goods; you're contributing to meaningful change in people’s lives every day.
Marks and Spencer and Oxfam’s Another Life scheme
Marks and Spencer has partnered with Oxfam to create the Another Life scheme, promoting sustainable fashion and reducing waste. This initiative encourages customers to donate their unwanted clothing in exchange for vouchers, which can be used at M&S stores. By supporting this program, you contribute to a circular economy that benefits both consumers and the environment. The donated items are sold in Oxfam shops, raising funds for vital charitable projects while giving clothes a second life. It's an excellent way to combine shopping with social responsibility.

Typical recipients of donated cars often include individuals facing economic hardships. Many are single parents, veterans, or those with disabilities who struggle to afford reliable transportation. These vehicles can significantly impact their daily lives by providing access to jobs, healthcare, and essential services. Additionally, non-profit organizations may also benefit from car donations. They use the proceeds from sales to fund various community programs and support vulnerable populations. This creates a ripple effect that fosters positive change in society while helping those in need gain mobility and independence.
How to Get a Donated Car From Goodwill or Salvation Army
To get a donated car from Goodwill or the Salvation Army, start by researching your local branch. Each organization has specific procedures for distributing vehicles, so contact them directly to inquire about availability. They often have programs in place designed to assist individuals in need. Next, ask about their application process. You may be required to provide documentation confirming your financial situation or need for transportation. It's essential to stay proactive and follow up regularly on your request as they handle many donations and inquiries at once.
Why the Salvation Army and Goodwill Sell Cars
The Salvation Army and Goodwill sell cars primarily to fund their charitable programs. Each vehicle auctioned contributes to essential services, such as providing food, shelter, and job training for those in need. This revenue generation plays a crucial role in helping communities thrive. Additionally, selling donated vehicles allows these organizations to recycle resources effectively. Instead of letting an unwanted car sit idle or go to waste, they turn it into financial support that directly benefits individuals facing hardship. This approach ensures that every donation has a meaningful impact on people's lives.
Find Your Local Salvation Army Branch
Finding your local Salvation Army branch is simple and crucial for accessing their services. Visit the official Salvation Army website and use the branch locator tool. Just enter your postcode, and it will provide you with a list of nearby locations. Each branch offers different programs, including vehicle donation opportunities. You can directly contact them to inquire about available donated cars or upcoming auctions in your area. The staff is usually friendly and ready to help guide you through the process of securing a vehicle that could change your life.
Get Information About Auctions
If you're interested in acquiring a donated car, checking out local auctions can be a smart move. Many charities host these events to sell off vehicles they cannot donate directly. This often means you can find great deals on cars that have been generously given. To get information about upcoming auctions, visit the charity's website or contact them directly. Some organizations even offer newsletters or mailing lists to keep potential bidders informed. Staying updated ensures you won’t miss out on any opportunities that could help you secure a vehicle at an affordable price.
Sign Up for the Auction
To participate in a car auction, signing up is your first step. Most organizations will have an online registration process where you can provide your details and express interest. Fill out the necessary forms carefully to avoid any delays. Once registered, keep an eye on upcoming auctions. These events are often announced via newsletters or social media channels. Being proactive ensures you won’t miss out on potential opportunities to secure a donated vehicle at a great price. Stay engaged with updates for the best chances of success!
Talk to Your Department of Human Services
If you're considering applying for a donated car, reaching out to your Department of Human Services is a crucial step. They can provide valuable information about available programs and resources in your area. Understanding local options will help you navigate the process more smoothly. Moreover, they often have insights into eligibility criteria and documentation needed for applications. This guidance can simplify the journey toward receiving a vehicle that meets your needs. Engaging with them opens doors to support that may not be widely advertised.
How to donate your car to charity
Donating your car to charity is a straightforward process. Start by researching charities that accept vehicle donations. Many organizations make it easy, providing online forms or contact numbers for assistance. Ensure you have the necessary paperwork ready, including the title and registration. Once you've chosen a charity, notify them of your intent to donate. They may arrange for free towing if needed. After donation, keep any tax documents they provide; these can be beneficial when filing taxes later on. Your generosity can help those in need while clearing up space in your driveway.
Conclusion
Navigating the process of obtaining a donated car in the UK can be straightforward with the right information. Many charities offer programs to assist those in need, making it possible for individuals to secure reliable transportation without financial burdens.
