"For the entire ‘80s and 90’s, only three different players won the Art Ross trophy for scoring lead: Gretzky, who won ten times; Lemieux, who won six times; and Jágr, who won five."

Aerin Frankel, I haven’t loved a goalie this much since I was a kid and Dominik Hasek played with the Red Wings.

share with us your list of goalie greats?
Ooooh, okay, I need more clarification on this question – greatest all time? My personal favorites? Something else? I think the greatest all time is soundly: Hasek, Roy, Brodeur. I would also give Sawchuk a nod, with the caveat used for all players of that era, which is that it's wicked hard to compare it to the modern game.
I'm not willing to put Rask into the conversation with those three, because I don't think the stats quite bear it out, but I think he's as close as you can get without being them. The Messier to Gretzky, the Park to Orr. Plus he's one of my personal favorite goalies and players of all time, and is a beloved Bruin, so I do adore him. If there are some homer goggles here, forgive me. And I'll always be grateful for Tim Thomas's winning the Bruins a Cup in 2011.
I like Flower just as a player. He's entertaining, he's incredibly talented, and I enjoy when I get the chance to see him do media things because he usually makes them quite fun.
Thank you anon! A+ question, love and respect thy goalie – me, former defenseman

How big is hockey in Czechia is like Canada big or is more of niche sport? And are the players famous or do you only know of them if you like hockey ?
It's basically a national sport here, just like in Canada - football is also a pretty big deal (just like lacrosse is in Canada). When you ask people, they will usually tell you they follow both (in my surroundings, cause I come from a hockey family and naturally gravitate towards people with the same interests, it's leaning more towards hockey though), but because the Czech Republic is more successful and overall recognized on the international scene and the highest level of competition with ice hockey, not football, plus there are definitely more athlete superstars, known in the Czech media, coming from ice hockey than from football, hockey has a notable of advantage in the run for the title of the national sport.
Jaromir Jagr has been the biggest athlete superstar in the Czech Republic for years - like I knew who he was since kindergarten and so did my peers even when their families didn't follow the ice hockey scene at all -, he is the first person people will name if you ask them about a famous Czech athlete and his name stirs a lot of respect among all the sportsmen, no matter what sport they do. Only Petr Cech (the famous football goalie) is somewhere close to him fame-wise and still not posing a threat in replacing him on the top of that popularity pyramid.
Lately, David Pastrnak is another name that causes a lot of positive buzz among the Czechs - everyone calls him the next Jaromir Jagr due to his performance in the NHL and everyone loves him thanks to his personality, like literally everyone. No one says a single bad word about him, which is quite rare considering how harsh and pessimistic the Czechs naturally are. Anything that involves him is just instant success and media sensation. Actually, he is popular to a point where he overshadows all the other Czech guys who are currently playing in the NHL and being very impressive - people don't really care that much about Martin Necas and they weren't really that fazed when Palat, Vrana or Francouz won the Stanley Cup and brought it here (of course, thousands of people were there to see the Cup and celebrate, but media-wise, Pastrnak is just absolutely domineering everything he can)
Dominik Hasek also used to be quite popular, but nowadays he is trying to break into politics, making extremely bold statements and just overall is quite unlikable so while people still respect his career achievements, he is viewed rather negatively and only continues to aggravate his reputation with basically every word he puts out.
