Welp I watched the new season of Beastars. And absolutely fell head over heels for the Shishigumi. So much so that I been literally just going through the manga to read the parts they are in. I had to take a stab at drawing them, but since I've never drawn antro-lions before I took one of my favorite manga panels and redrew it!

Chief Lion

Although he probably wouldn’t mind you moving around in bed If you ever fall off, he’s gonna start holding you tighter so that you won't hurt yourself 

Pimp Response: Buy a bigger bed, clearly you need the space to move around without the danger of you falling off 

He’d start investing in ways to get you to relax throughout the night, so going to spas, tiring you out more on your outings, and talking with you to make sure nothing else is going on. 

Ibuki

This worry-wart wouldn’t let you fall off the bed in the first place, even in his sleep, his instincts as a protector kick in, so he keeps a secure arm draped over you

He’d start asking you questions in the morning to make sure you’re not having nightmares or if something is on your mind that’s keeping you turning. You’re going to start sleeping on his chest more often so he makes sure though. 

He’d consider getting baby gates at some point if you’re constantly on the edge of falling off; he just doesn’t want you to get hurt! 

Free

If you fall off the bed, Free won’t let you live it down, “Was the floor comfy? Should I join you next time?” He’s only joking, of course, he will pull you back up and wrap you up in his arms to prevent it from happening again

He’s probably the same as you, or worse, in terms of moving around in bed, so both of you guys are basically fighting while asleep for bed space 

If one day you fall off and he’s too tired, he might just join you on the floor to sleep (bringing everything on the bed with him). Be aware, he’s gonna try to convince you to get freaky on the floor in the morning. 

Dolph

He’s patient with you, a lot of the time he’ll reposition himself to avoid being elbowed or kicked. But if your shuffling seems more restless, he’ll wake you up to make sure you’re okay and do his best to comfort you before going back to bed.

Like Ibuki, he might place pillows on the edges of the bed to act as barriers, just in case your movements get a little wild

He’ll tease if you fall off the bed, but he’d carry you princess-style off the floor and back onto the bed, with him holding you close to his chest 

Agata

This man will cling to you like a koala to stop your movement, joking that it’s for your safety “There, problem solved. No more rolling away from me”

 He’ll tease you about falling off the bed, but he’s also just as guilty about moving around, maybe worse than Free. He’s for sure fallen off the bed more times than you and broken more things because of his size. 

Since you both are impaired in the sleeping department, he’s gonna suggest making forts on the floor for some date nights. You guys would just play games, have snacks, and cuddle without the risk of falling off the bed. Fort’s destroyed 45 minutes into yall sleeping though.  

Miguel

This guy won’t notice, he sleeps like a ROCK, and he will not be moved or woken up by your movements. The workouts, the jobs, the errands are keeping him nice and dead for the next 9 hours. 

 Wakes up really confused to find you on the floor, but easily picks you up to place you on the bed. THEN he sees how much you move if you stay asleep after he gets you back on the bed “Where are you headed in your dreams?” 

All he really has to do is rest an arm on you to keep you grounded, he doesn’t mind your movements and finds it pretty amusing when you basically fight his big ol’ arm to move around. 

Sabu

Takes advantage of his skinny self and drapes himself onto you to keep you from moving around as much. Reassure him that it isn’t him that’s making you restless and moving away from him.

 You’re cooked if you fall off the bed, he might catch you as you fall, so you’re gonna be jolted awake by your body being yanked up to stop you from colliding with the floor. 

If he doesn’t catch you and sees you’re still asleep from the fall (poor man doesn’t wanna throw his back out), he’ll toss a blanket on your body. He’ll take you out somewhere nice on his bike to make up for it. 

Jinma

He immediately starts asking around a market for remedies, catch him taking notes from older animal ladies who put their kids into REM sleep in 30 minutes. He’s just worried you’re not getting enough sleep or good sleep. 

If he wakes up mid-shuffle, he’ll mutter something cryptic like, “The stars move too, you know,” before going back to sleep. Neither you nor him remember this though. 

He’ll start using your falling as an excuse to keep you close to him, it’s for your own good. He definitely didn’t spray a melatonin cologne he got from one of the grandmas he talked to. 

Dope

I feel like Dope is also a deep sleeper, your movements are barely registered and if he does wake up, he shrugs it off with a sleepy grin. He’s too tired, he might just peek over to make sure you're okay though 

He’ll ask Jinma for any black market remedies he knows of though, he just wants to rule out any nightmares or bad sleeping habits of yours. He accepts fate if there really isn’t anything wrong.

If he fails at waking up to pick you up from the floor, he’ll jokingly build a pillow wall between the two of you “Out of sight, out of mind” He doesn’t like waking up to see you're not in the bed, he’d rather not see at all 

Hino 

I think he’d be the most “bothered” out of all the lions since he’s the lighter sleeper, he’s gonna wake up if you're shuffling around a lot 

If you fall off the bed, bro won’t notice, he’s too sleep-deprived to bother starting the process of falling asleep all over again. Unless you fall off the bed violently, he’s not getting up to check, and yes, he will make it up to you in the morning 

He’d use your shuffling as an excuse to hold you closer when you two get into bed, it helps him sleep better and you won’t bust your face + cuddles from your super hot man

I don’t think he would think about you differently from a lioness

He is highly protective of you however

Even though you might not be as vulnerable as a small herbivore he still wants to make sure no one try’s anything

He also has a habit of playing with your hair when you two are alone

When ever you go home he’ll always come with you to make sure your safe

Free

Free will tease you a lot about being human (if it bothers you a lot he’ll stop)

Even though he loves you he’s gotta mess with you here and there

He’ll always wanna cuddle with you even in public just not when the other Shishigumi are around

If anyone ever cat calls you or harasses you in any way expect him to hurt them later

Dolph

He’s gonna be very protective of you

If someone looks at you too long he’s gonna have a problem

Like Ibuki he’ll always offer to walk you home but if its dark out he wont ask he’ll just come with you even if you protest

He’ll always wanna cook for you and have you try new foods!

Agata

He’s gonna ask a LOT of questions about being human like what you eat, what you do for fun, how you care for your skin ect

Even when you first met he was very curious about you because theirs so few humans in the world

He’s s always gonna want to go out with you, whether its to go for dinner or just to go grocery shopping

He’s gonna expect affection all the time even when your working

Sabu

I think he would want to keep you a secret from the Shishigum

Its not that he’s ashamed of you but he doesn’t want you to see him any differently

When you two first meet he’ll be a bit closed off and will with hold information about his past but after awhile he’ll open u

Sabu is definitely touch starved and always loves your warm embrace and lots of kisses

Hino

Hino will show you off to everyone including the other Shishigumi

He thinks your one of the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen

Because he loves self care he’ll probably give you some products for you to use as well so that you both have something you can share

He’ll try to buy you flowers every once and awhile too just to show you his love

Also yes I know I left out Dope, Miguel, and Jimma cause I never know what to put for them 😭 I promise tho I will update the post to include them

Okay so hear me out, the lions with an s/o who uses a cane or has a disability? As someone with a disability there’s not too many people writing about them, so I figured it couldn’t hurt to ask, right? It’s totally cool if you don’t want to though.

Lions with a S/O who uses a Cane/has a Disability 

Ibuki

Ibuki makes the effort to not hover or make you feel incapable, but he’s always subtly making sure you’re comfortable. Whether it’s holding doors open or clearing obstacles in your path, he does it naturally

If someone stares or makes an insensitive comment, his calm but firm demeanor shuts them down immediately.

If you’re feeling tired or need help, he’ll offer his arm or shoulder with a reassuring smile. “Lean on me anytime; I don’t mind.”

Free

He loves tinkering, so don’t be surprised if he customizes your cane with fun designs or practical upgrades, like a built-in flashlight or even a self-defense feature.

Free always brags about how amazing you are. “Cane or not, they could take on the world if they wanted to.” You’ll never go without compliments with him 

Free has a knack for lightening the mood. If you’re frustrated about your mobility in particular, he’ll crack a joke to see a smile on your face 

Dolph

He makes sure all your outings together are accessible, researching locations in advance so you don’t have to worry about stairs or long walks.

Dolph always asks how he can help in certain situations, he doesn’t want to assume you can’t complete certain tasks, and he respects your independence but is ready to assist when needed.

Dolph quietly takes care of little things, like carrying heavier bags or adjusting his pace to match yours, without making a big deal of it.

Agata

Agata admires your determination and will, he looks up to you and how you put up with so much in the world. He’s your biggest cheerleader!

He’ll hold out his arm dramatically and say, “Your chariot awaits!” whenever you need help walking longer distances, always making it fun instead of awkward.

 If anyone dares to disrespect you or treat you differently because of your disability, Agata won’t hesitate to get in their face about it.

Miguel

He’s incredibly attentive, noticing when you’re starting to get tired or uncomfortable and suggesting breaks before you even have to ask

He for sure signs both of you guys up for workout classes that are accessible/accommodating to you, he doesn’t want to ice you out of his fun little hobby. If he can’t find any, he will make a plan himself.

Another admirer, he constantly reminds you how much he admires your resilience. “You inspire me every day, you know that?”

Sabu

Sabu’s not the type to fuss, but he’s always there when you need him. If you’re having a rough day, he’ll quietly take over tasks without a word

When you’re out in public, Sabu keeps a sharp eye out for anything that might cause you trouble, like uneven ground or careless crowds, steering you around them without saying much.

 Despite his tough demeanor, Sabu has a way of offering quiet, heartfelt encouragement when you’re feeling down. “You’re tougher than most people I know, and that’s saying something.”

Jinma

If something in your environment isn’t working for you, Jinma will calmly come up with a clever workaround, turning it into an adventure instead of an inconvenience.

 He thinks your cane is awesome and might even jokingly ask if he can borrow it to “look cooler.” He’d have a monocle and cane moment. 

Jinma’s laid-back attitude makes it easy to be yourself around him. He never pressures you to do more than you’re comfortable with.

Dope

Dope is very good with his words and he has a way of reframing things to make you feel better. “Everyone’s got their own challenges. Yours just happen to be visible, and that’s okay.”

Dope has all the time in the world for you. If you’re moving at a slower pace or need frequent breaks, he never rushes or gets annoyed

On tough days when you’re frustrated or feeling down about yourself, Dope is the perfect person to talk to. He’ll listen without interrupting and then say something simple but impactful, making the most challenging days manageable. 

Hino

He’s the type to walk beside you no matter how slow the pace, making sure you know he’s with you every step of the way

He’ll take you shopping for outfits or different canes to match, he’s gonna dress you up and take you around to show off. 

Hino notices even the smallest changes in your mood or energy levels and adjusts accordingly, whether it’s suggesting a break or offering quiet encouragement
