temple/auriga lore dump?

i almost never purge when acting as a confessor in the temple because i find the combat system a little tedious, but i did today for the first time, and got a scene i haven’t seen before.

when purging the penitent, i made them climax, and then was prompted to do it again several more times until i blacked out. (no screenshots of this, sorry, i wasn’t thinking about it.)

then, i was met with this scene:

from then on, i asked the questions in the order they popped up in the dialogue choices, so all the following passages are the responses to the first shown option in the preceding one.

bonus: after i left, and went to the cloister, the six-armed statue was labeled.

i have yet to see what this scene is like with a pure sydney! if anyone has that, i’d be grateful if they could add it to the post; if not, i’ll get it myself and add it here instead. ^^

notably, i know there is dialogue where the ivory wraith calls you gaoler, but i can’t remember the context in which they call you that, so i can’t meaningfully draw connections…

I want to know why so many people have beef with the Great Hawk. I get why Alex doesn't like them, but why Eden? Sydney has a problem with them too if I remember correctly. What on earth did the bird do to them???

And, just going out on a limb based on them taking over Sydney's Deceased Parents role as head of the church. Who I am assuming was older then them (mid 30s like Sirris if they were alive). *** I am assuming based on Landry referring to them as a "kid". **** Harper is described as "not being older then 25" so puts them early 20s. Eri the Orphan -> Eri the Veil

In most common mythology/folklore, 'the veil' is often used in reference to the existence of a 'border' between two realities, one of the world of man and the other of the world of those beyond our comprehension. It is not exclusively meant to define a 'border' between worlds, but often the veil refers to the act of also obscuring things from other's gazes.

Auriga, the Dark Elk, the Violet Void - is the taint that threatens to corrupt and destroy the world as we know it. The source of all the depravity of the world and the main culprit to why the Town is the way it is. All that is natural is twisted into a perverted comedy all for the amusement of one cruel entity, and as of late - it threatens to come back into the World from whatever void it has been banished to. The cult of the 'Children of Auriga' has made it their life's mission to gnaw at the locks that keeps Auriga from coming back into their World to cause havoc. But how could they do so, when the 'veil' to Auriga is nowhere to be found?

That is because the 'veil' or also known as the 'gateway' is not a physical border that one can cross, but rather exists as a person. The person of interest that seems to have captivated everyone of the Town. The tether - the bridge for Auriga to find their way back into this world, through the body of one young woman whose dealt the worst hand by the fates. Eri, the Veil of Auriga. The Seed of Ruin. Auriga's Future Vessel.

I wonder how many deities exist in dol, because we know that there's at least three. The god with several arms and wings, the angel with several eyes and wings, and the tentacle demon. I'm pretty sure that Vrel hinted at another one in a QnA once too.

There's specifically the Hunting Horn, where Winter reacts to it.

"Winter runs his finger over the mouthpiece and recoils, as if hurt. His face shows no sign of pain. 'A hunting trophy from abroad,' they say. 'They had it made into an instrument. Not what I would have done.'" and the item itself is highlighted as an item loved from the old town. Unfortunately, it's buried.

Plus the noble candle stick and him mourning the family that became of them (which, tbh, i think is actually related to Kylar's family)

Old Grenade: "This one might be younger than me." Winter laughs. You assume they're joking. "I'm not surprised you found it in the countryside. I hear of some impressive collections."
