Death of a living Carrot

So recently I’ve been ranting about why “organic” vegetables are so dam expensive and why veganism is soooo hype right now and why everything in the “Free-from” section is made from potato starch and corn syrup! Oh and why, yeah why should I have to pay an extra 30p or cents depending on where you are reading this from, for oat milk or coconut milk or any other “milk” other than the stuff created for baby cows, yes calf I know!

I am not against this vegan revolution, really I’m not but it really smells a lot like bacon to me, full fat pig capitalism, don’t get me wrong I care about all life, but carrots are alive too so are trees and we don’t seem to have a problem with cutting them down to plant more soya based fossil fuels and tasteless meat free sausages, so honestly wtf!

I repeat I am not against the harming of life, ALL life, all life does indeed matter! (#don’t get me twisted #blacklivesmatter) 

But I can not, will not be a hypocrite, this is not just because I am mere “flexitarian” yes that’s right, I would eat an animal if my body so desires or the circumstance in which I find myself in so requires and no I did not make this shit up, FLEX-I-TAR-IAN, means that I am reflectively flexible about what I eat. But because I know, deep down I know that it is some real privileged shit to be able to say “oh no I don’t eat this” or “no I don’t eat that” when at least two thirds of our worlds population is literally, starving! 

I think its a joke to be more concerned about the vegan hash tag when you wear sweat shop clothes without concern or buy EVERYTHING cause you just don’t want to be left out, upgrading and up-grading, knowing that those minerals in that phone you just had to have was mined by some poor fucker in Congo stuck in the middle of an imperialist not so civil war.

The real issue here is not what we eat, but how we eat, how we treat and grow and live with EVERYTHING we eat, our vegetable friends included, organic does not mean unsprayed or grown naturally or non GMO, really it means I can afford to get an apple, all the apples, every year, hell every season as long as they tell me I am in danger of being out of season and I’m not just talking about the eating kind! 

In reality how we treat our environment is a direct reflection of how we treat each other and I guess how we treat each other is a direct reflection of how we feel about ourselves!

Solution- a rant to follow, trust me i have plenty, especially that what to do with our poop question!
