Back Again—Sunday Chats—7/8/18
Welcome Back!
It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these, and I wanted to open up with a bit of a litany of excuses as to why that is! I know when you’re just on the outside looking in its hard to know exactly why I haven’t been posting these or asking questions, or really anything on Sundays. It’s a combination of things.
First of all, the last two Sundays I have not been home to write up Sunday Chats. Three weeks ago I was in Cuba! Well, technically I was at Key West, the day before I’d go to Cuba, on a cruise ship. Most importantly, the only internet access I had was through the data on my cell phone, and so I couldn’t really post Sunday Chats. In theory, I could solicit questions via my phone, I could write it up offline, and then go on and post it when I’d get home the following Wednesday, but I really didn’t want to because it was honestly a genuine vacation for me. I wanted to kind of check out and try and not be online so much. Of course, I failed a little bit in this regard, I was checking Twitter ravenously any time I had an internet connection, because I have a problem. For the most part, when I was off on my cruise with my mom and my brothers three weeks ago, I was without an internet connection, and it was a little nice, but also a little stressful.
The week before that, it was E3! We were living in the Microsoft/Bethesda press conferences! I was going to write something that day but honestly between the post shows and just consuming E3 I honestly did not have time. I’ve done like, reaction write ups in the past, but I was a bit more down to live in the moment this go around.
Then I was in San Francisco! It was the day after Kinda Funny Prom, which was lovely, we’ll get to that in a bit, but that Sunday I was seeing a movie with Barrett Courtney, my sweet boy, and was just exhausted after KFP and everything then. I had stayed up way too late the night before talking games and eating pizza. I had a great time, but I was still pretty checked out.
The Sunday between those two, I was completely exhausted. Honestly? I’m still exhausted. The best thing, I think, to alleviate my normal “post-con depression” type thing I get after a Kinda Funny Live event and seeing all my friends is taking another, separate vacation just beforehand. I had barely enough time to stay at home and just sit on my couch and play video games before suddenly being whisked off to San Francisco. So getting home, I am just so happy to be home, to be sleeping in my pitch-black room on my comfy foam mattress. To lay on my couch and play whatever video game I want (which mostly has been Tales of Vesperia... again) and just... relax. Ya know what I mean? I just want to relax. I’m a solitary person. I’ve talked many a-time before on here, but I just love to be alone a lot. And I just want to be alone sometimes, especially after several back-to-back socially exhausting experiences.
And that’s a big part about why I’ve been so crappy about doing Sunday Chats consistently. Even before this last month of vacations I’ve been very touch and go about SC. Now that I have fully transitioned into being a full time employee, I work a lot more than my body is used to, even if I am four months into my new role at my job. It’s a lot for me. And I’m barely keeping up with my IP work of being an editor there. And that’s, I think, more important, because I am making decisions and a team is relying on me for that.
I essentially circle around two days off a week, Wednesday and Sunday, and so I work Thursday-Friday-Saturday, plus I have the podcast on Friday nights. Without getting too into the details, Saturdays at my job take quite a toll. Like, a lot on me, so just making it to Sunday, I’ve genuinely forgotten completely about Sunday Chats because I am sleeping in and resting and just trying to get my bearings. I know it’s not much of an excuse, but I’m hoping to turn Sundays into equally as productive days as they are relaxing. It’s just about finding that balance.
As per usual, my trip to San Francisco was motivational in some ways, so I feel inspired to continue to work harder and do more now that I’m home, and hopefully that can last me until PAX West in a couple months.
But that’s generally where the status of Sunday Chats is. As a big update, while not going into effect quite yet (maybe not even for months) but Sunday Chats will soon transition to be a full feature on IrrationalPassions.com. I think it’s a natural transition and it makes sense. It’ll still be available and accessible to all, but I want to play around with some format ideas I have, and I think it makes sense to be there since it is, predominantly, about video games, as it always kind of was. I want to have these heartfelt chats there, because I think as the “editor-in-chief” of the site, it helps build a rapport with the audience of that site which seems to grow every month.
Now that’s all done, let’s get to the editorial!
My Feelings and Emotions in San Francisco
I like this title because it’s just all about the feels. As many frequent Sunday Chats readers would know, depression is just slowly becoming one and the same with me. Like two amorphous blobs just close enough to each other that they become one. Like slime enemies from Dungeons & Dragons that just jell together on spiritual and self-hatred-like level.
So I’ve been through a rough like... 2018 to be honest. And so being in a place where I was just genuinely surrounded by affection and good vibes was really, really moving for me. I put out a twitter thread about the feeling which I think encapsulates most of what I’d want to say, and you can read that here.
But a big thing is how being in SF has proven to be a huge opportunity for me in the past: a time to “schmooze” as some people say, and talk to people, make connections, market yourself, or just meet as many people as you can and spread “the brand” as much as possible. And honestly, I just wasn’t here for that this year. I’ve gotten to a very, maybe even regressive place in my life, where I’d rather not get out there and try and be at the center of things and meet as many folks as possible. There were certainly several folks I had never met before that I wanted to meet, but for the most part I spent that time focusing on more intimate interactions with specific people.
A lot of this manifested in folks I’ve admired for a great long while, and that’s the fellows at OK Beast. I got to have a real heart to heart with Ian Preschel, someone I just haven’t been as close to for whatever dozen reasons that usually amount to time, and understand him better as a person. I got to have an emotional moment with Moises, someone I admire so goddamn much and for some reason keeps saying I’m the reason he started writing. I got to spitball ideas with Alex Van Aken, my fellow Alex-in-Arms, and share the wonders of running a business Slack with Blessing. They’re people I just genuinely look up to and inspire me legitimately every day, and I’m excited and hopeful to collaborate with them in the future. I have nothing but love for all of them, including Brandon, wherever he is out there.
I got to spend a ton of time with Barrett and Alyssa, my hosts, and Jacob Bryant who was also rooming with me at their place. They’re just family to me. Enough said.
I got to spend a huge chunk of time with Nicole Humphrey and Cameron Abbott, two very special friends to me, and for reasons I’d rather not put on blast here, it was very important to me that this time was worked into my trip, and I’m so glad it was.
Those dense, meaningful interactions are what I live for. It’s literally why I started the show Get Acquainted (new episodes coming soon I promise!) and they were the highlights of the weekend. I won’t list them all here, but suffice to say on a personal level this trip was very important to me, rather than on a “business level” which it has been for me in the past.
Thank you all for being open to wasting your time with me, I’ll be forever grateful.
ONTO GAMES.
What’s On Tap
Hollow Knight
I HAVEN’T TALKED ABOUT THIS GAME ON SUNDAY CHATS AT ALL YET AND IT’S INCREDIBLE OMG.
I love this game.
Final game time was 42h and 7m, and all of it was excellent. Well... Not all of it, there were a couple very frustrating bosses. But most of it was excellent.
One of the best Metroidvanias ever made. Symphony of the Night, Super Metroid, Ori and the Blind Forest, Hollow Knight, and Metroid Prime are the best of the genre full stop. It sits proudly in that number.
Don’t think. Play it.
Unless you really don’t like hard games, because it’s very difficult, but crazy rewarding!
Ys VIII
I just got this pretty recently and am only about four or so hours in, and so far it’s just a wonderful delight.
Compared to the demo I played a great many months ago on PS4, the Switch version does take quite the graphical hit, especially if you have a hangup about anti-aliasing. There are a LOT of jaggies to be seen here
BUT, I think performance wise it’s still very solid. Some hitches here and there, but during combat it’s generally smooth, and that’s what’s most important.
Very good. Recommended.
Captain Spirit
Honestly, there is too much to say here. Don’t hesitate, go play this. I do not care if you’re like Jurge Cruz (social media editor at IP) and are dead inside and don’t like Captain Spirit. It’s free. Go play it.
Nuff. Said.
More thoughts coming soon.
Questions
Remember you can tweet me your questions by looking for my tweet with #SundayChats in it on Sunday afternoons, and you can be a part of this write up! Much love to everyone who always shows up (I’m looking at you Brandon Gann! <3)!
Goddammit Tyler you keep asking me wrestling shit and you know I hate wrestling...
Uhh...
What if I just showed up and was Noctis?

A great many things! Event wise, I’m very excited about PAX West. Assuming I can still make it, which I should be able to, it’ll be a blast.
Plus there are new shows and new things coming from IP soon that I am just hyped for.
But let’s be honest with each other? Okay? Let’s all be real here?
Motherfucking Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition.
‘Nuff said.
My favorite Romantic Comedy of All Time just so happens to also be my favorite movie of all time, Silver Linings Playbook.
It is, in my humble opinion, a perfect film. It is the only movie I have watched over 10 times.
It’s very important to me, and while it may seem dumb to many of you, it told me that even fucked up bad people like me can find love in both themselves and others. And I really needed to hear that when that movie found its way to me in 2013.
Good LORD am I the WORST to ask about this. Well, first, Jamie. It was a goddamn pleasure meeting you at prom.
I mean, look at us:
I was very drunk and I’m so sorry.
But on a real level, a few things.
First, I did this horrible thing where I wrote everyday for almost three years straight and that was just a self-made torture and I have to keep myself in shape motivationally speaking or else I’ll have to do that again. And that sounds torturous. But as far as building strong habits I think that did help a lot. I mean, Sunday Chats is a direct by product of that, and I think generally people seem to like SC.
Second, I spend a lot of my brain energy trying not to worry about shit I have zero control over. If I misread a text and think someone hates me for whatever reason, which I do pretty much on a daily basis, I’m either going to text them back and ask, or do nothing, and if I’ve decided to do nothing, then I don’t get to be upset about it. If someone is doing some wack shit, I’m either gonna keep talking to them, or nah. Just do it, and everything else, well there is nothing you can do about it. Usually. But my depressed-adled and crazy-ass garbage brain still spends many an hour worrying about things I have no control over. But I’ll say this, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve gotten better at it. Skill comes with time and age.
Third, I think finding someone on relatively equal footing as you but maybe doing something better or more interesting or just simply different than you can really be motivational. It’s easy to get demotivated by someone else’s success, but words I try and hold onto every goddamn day are “someone else’s success does not equate to your failure”.
I hope that helps!
I have not had a lot this year, unfortunately. Avengers was great? I looooved Ant Man and the Wasp! Adored it. Just saw it yesterday (on Sunday, actually!) and it was phenomenal.
But outside of that I don’t have much. It’s crazy to say that in a year where a new JK Rowling Harry Potter movie is coming out, but Johnny Depp is in that movie and he is fucking human trash and for some reason WB is letting him just waltz around like he hasn’t done horrific things.
But anyway, I’d very much like to see Fireworks, from the same folks what made Your Name, but the dub wasn’t playing anytime I could see it this past weekend. :(
Maybe if it goes up on streaming soon (which I’m hopeful it will) I can see it.
Outside of that, I got nothing.
As someone who actively dislikes breakfast and most breakfast food, this is tricky for me to answer. I know your whole breakfast fetish Quin, so I won’t shit on you here, but I guess it’d just be a simple bagel (everything bagel. or poppy seed, depending on my mood) or maybe pancakes/waffles.
My thing is waffles/pancakes aren’t breakfast food, they’re anytime food. Or 1am food.
I have traveled a lot yes, but it’s been to a lot of the same places over and over again unfortunately. Not that that’s necessarily bad, but it’s been a lot of SF, Boston, etc, etc.
Having just gone to Cuba, I finally have a passport! So it’s time.
It’s time Japan. I’m coming to you.
And hopefully Ireland too. But those trips will likely have to wait a bit and be very far from one another.
ISLAND BOY!
Well, that is a nightmare scenario for me, because I’d definitely die very quickly. BUT. If I had to choose.
First up would be Bentley from Sly Cooper, because he is a big needy nerd like me and would want to get the hell out of there ASAP just as much as I do, and he could make like, a series of small helicopters out of coconuts or some shit.
SECONDLY.... Hrmm.... harder choice.
There is a really great joke here about choosing Fi from Skyward Sword because maybe she could just DOUSE our way to a better situation, heaven knows...
But I’m mostly above that.
I’d say Cappy from Mairo Odyssey just because I just looked at my Cappy hat and it’d be fun to just capture turtles and crabs and stuff on the island. Not Bentley, he’d consider that an invasion of privacy.
I don’t know if YOU should get Detroit, but I absolutely love it. I’d say read Logan Wilkinson’s excellent review of the game, available here:
http://irrationalpassions.com/detroit-become-human-review/
He liked one relationship in that game a lot more than I did, but generally we’re on the same page with it. I love the game, and if Heavy Rain did anything for you then I think Detroit is better in just about every way.
I’ll say this: it’s not like 2018 has been BANGERs for me, but after 2017, where two of my new favorite games EVER came out (Breath of the Wild and Persona 5) it’s just so impossible to follow that up. That being said, I’m medium to high excited about MANY games this fall: Spyro, Tomb Raider, Valkyria Chronicles, AC Odyssey, Life is Strange S2, Code Vein, Darksiders 3, and Smash Bros. That’s a whole lot in just three short months to eat up like some yummy yummy candy.
So while I think he first half of 2018 has been pretty great, mostly because of Hollow Knight, but also Ni No Kuni 2, Celeste, Yakuza 6, and Moonlighter, its still been good. It’s been a big one for me to reconnect with my indie darlings. And that’s big for me.
I hope that helps!
Checklist
It’s been a while eh?
Well here are some recs!
“The Short But Chilling ‘Captain Spirit’ Weaponizes Empathy Against You” - Patrick Klepek - Waypoint.
I have barely read this but everything about it jives with me. Another one to check out only after you’ve played Captain Spirit, which I assume all of you are going to do, because it’s free, and because I asked you so nicely to do so.
The Music of Persona 4 Golden - Blessing Adeoye - OKBeast.com
I mean, it’s about arguably the best video game soundtrack of all time, from one of the best music-takers in games, that just so happens to be on my favorite video game of all time. What do you want? Go watch.
OK Beast Podcast Episode 100 - OKBeast.com
I’ve found myself far more into OKBP since they merged OKB and PPR into one show. Here is their 100th episode, where they decided to rank the best 100 video games ever. For some reason.
Like, what if on Ep 400 of IPP we ranked the top 400 video games of all time? Fuck that.
Love those boys.
That’s it. That’s all she wrote. Or rather, that’s all I wrote. Sorry this posted Monday, I hadn’t checked my work schedule for a minute and then I saw at like, 8:30pm I had to open today and that means I have to wake up at 6am and I figured I should be responsible and get a full night’s sleep. Still didn’t fall asleep until about 10:30am, but I wrote some of this last night.
I’m rambling.
I love you all.
Do me a favor though?
Keep it real.

POLICE REFORM: EMERGE FROM THE DARK
Eliminate the Title: Police and Cops. And shed all things negative within the active body. Remove all negative ideologies as well. Implement New Title: World Peace Officers. Implement New Uniforms with the main color being Dark Leaf Green with Dark Wood Brown logos, with Symbols, or Designs that show Tree Life, such as a Eagle or Owl Perched in a Tree. Why the colors? Uniform colors should be darker versions of colors because it will maintain a cleaner appearance much better, especially when outdoors. Also, Green stands for Growth, and Green and Brown are the main Colors of Trees. Why the Symbolism? Trees Serve and Protect Life; they help provide Oxygen to Breathe…
and are home to many forms of Life around the world. And sure… applicable persons can teach and repurpose an officers role. But i say… Let the Trees be a Teacher as well, and let them be a constant reminder that people need to Breathe… and that Life needs to Flourish. Buildings for World Peace Officers would not be titled: police stations or precincts. Buildings would be Titled: World Peace Initiative, Sector 1, 2 and so on, and it would read that on the buildings and cars. Buildings and cars would be friendly earth tone colors or similar colors to the uniforms. First building to initiate changes is subtitled Sector 1, the next to initiate changes is Sector 2, third building is Sector 3, and so on. Full title for
example would be World Peace Initiative, Sector 1. And At least two beautiful trees should be planted nearby or in the vicinity of every building and if possible, other plants should be around, including small plants on the desks in the offices inside the building and medium plants next to seating and open spaces to give off an aura of life, and discourage the aura of morbidity. World Peace Initiative’s Slogan for all Sectors would be “Peace is a Virtue.” All cars for Sector One would read “World Peace Initiative: Sector 1” and read “Peace is a Virtue.” under those words. The Buildings would exist all over the world, and be interconnected in communication, purpose, peace efforts, and values. No
one should be employed at, or work in these buildings who do not have good values. There should be computer or paper Tests for current and future officers. Testing would strategically and thoroughly assess moral and ethical thinking in relation to response tactics to various situations and overall views on life. Those who don’t meet quality standards after testing can not be an officer, period. Those who fail the standard while on duty should face fair accountability, and disciplinary action at the level equal to the discrepancy. And a persons test results on file, and known reputation at the job and in the community should be taken into account and consideration always when exercising
disciplinary action. The World Peace Initiative for all Sectors, would have two divisions titled D1 and D2, meaning division one, and division two. D1 or D2 should also be on the uniform logo, patch, badges, id’s, hats and anything medium to small size to help people identify the type of responding officers. Dispatchers should be careful to send out the proper responders, suitable to the task. All Uniforms for Sector one would read “World Peace Initiative: Sector 1” and read “Peace is a Virtue.” under those words. And Sector two would read Sector 2 and so on. This would be on the back of all Shirts, Jackets, Coats and anything large enough to remind officers and all people of their purpose. D1 would
be designated for Major crimes such as: Bank Robberies, Mass Shootings, Attempted Murder, Rape and more. D1 officers would be expected to be well equipped for the needed response and would reasonably and naturally have high adrenaline do to the situation at hand, but… should try to remain sharp and focused. D1 ideally should Never be sent out to to respond to D2 related duties! This Is Very Important. Because D1 officers to a certain extent will become conditioned and use to responding to high threat situations. Therefore adrenaline and energy should be appropriated in the right directions, and a pattern should be one that they are used to. That way they can do their
jobs in confidence, and in better aptitude. D2 would be designated for Smaller issues such as: petty theft, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and other minor community issues. D2 would be tasked with conflict resolution, and displaying multipurpose leadership, community advocacy, and stewardship, by maintaining a positive attitude and simply exercising nonviolent, and ideally… nonphysical interaction with people, to resolve small problems within communities. Also an example of nonphysical small crime disciplines is a summons to a respective form of counseling, or giving small to growing fines and fees for disorderly conduct that keeps happening on a reoccurring and
continual basis. If possible, Fines and Fees should be non paper based, and able to be input into an online system. Also If possible, have body cameras linked with facial recognition software, and carry devices for outdoor fingerprint scanning to mainly be used for any persons who may appear drunk or unconscious. D2 officers at the very least should always travel in pairs, and should always be attentive enough to explain if need be, an account of what occurred, and D2 officers may request via communications assistance from D1 officers Only if the situation is suitable for such a request. Otherwise request should not be granted at all. In that case Requests for Additional D2 officers may
be a normal practice if need be. D1 officers should be expected to carry lethal weapons. D2 officers however should not be defenseless and should be carrying nonlethal weapons. All officers should have excellent training that teaches ethical use of weapons, and ethical responses to all situations. Ideally World Peace Initiative Sector cars should not have such disturbing lighting in terms of the color. If it were my choice… the colors would actually be bright green and white flashing lights. Red is a very alarming and disturbing color to have flashing all over the place, and it gives off a aura of imminent danger i feel. Additionally, all cars should have cameras on the front, back and sides of
cars if possible, and very bright white front and back lighting that almost looks like daylight that can be turned on when and where it would be helpful. Cars and all cameras should have sound recording capabilities. Also just as members of a company or job, have ID to identify them, people may “Voluntarily” sign up to receive by mail a Community Member ID issued by their applicable World Peace Initiative, Sector. And Instead of a photo on the ID, the ID could have something of a Qr code or something else on it or multiple things on it, maybe a bar code and bar code number to additionally help Identify the Individuals In or belonging to Communities. Why a Qr code or bar codes and such? because I doubt everyone would want to run in
and have their photo taken, especially people who may want to be somewhat anonymous! However, such ID’s should not replace more important ID’s, such as state ID’s. And the ID’s in no way shape or form should look like the World Peace Officers Sector ID’s. Also, positively interacting with community members and taking down information, suggestions, and notes whenever and however possible would be ideal. World Peace Officer ID’s should have world class design, and be distinctive, and readily recognizable. Also D2 Officers could also make the choice to be representatives, and Influencers of Greener World initiatives by inspiring the planting of Trees, and could
voluntarily help plant trees once a year as an event, that would have a good reflection on the World Peace Initiative Sectors and it’s Officers as a body. However, World Peace Officers should not be forced into any greener world or going green advocacy roles. Reason being… their main focus and purpose should be bringing peace to the communities they serve. There should also be surveys available online under the World Peace Initiative Sector website, that allows individuals in communities to have input on how to handle community problems, and suggestions should be taken into consideration. Surveys should be set up whereas if the community member chooses to do so, they can
answer questions, and give suggestions anonymously. Surveys should also be available on the website while not requiring you to sign up and have an online account just to answer surveys, or give suggestions. And the World Peace Initiative Sectors in their respective locations around the world should have meetings with their Local Community Leaders, Online and Offline. And there should be an online portal similar to that of a online portal that libraries offer to it’s members – for Community Members to sign up If they want to, and interact with the World Peace Initiative Sector and do some reading on what the World Peace Initiative Sector plans are for Peace in Everyone’s Future. And
there should always be areas online that allow anonymous donations, or anonymous feedback, from the community. Why should certain things be anonymous? Because not everyone wants info about them on a website whereas they may feel that their information is not necessarily secure. And also because people may have safety concerns with having an account on a website that is deemed to support safety feedback from communities. And not everyone will care for peace efforts. Some people love discord.
On the subject of physical paper money and silver coins and such… elimination of such should be considered in the world. All forms of payment should be Readily Authentic and able to Identify the person issuing the payment in a payment system. Banks should consider issuing two cards to bank account holders, one card should work similar to paypal and be for storage of small amounts of money for small and quick store runs. And the second bank card would only be discreetly carried by persons, seeking on any given day, to make larger purchases. Also, One should keep in mind that, Harmony and Peace Requires Effort from All Of Us! And that the Absence of a People Bringing Order… does not necessarily mean the absence of Evil… Bringing Chaos! – By China Alicia Rivera
Also, i know maybe this is probably not the best idea around for some kind of Police Reform; but it’s what appeared in my mind. What’s your idea?

The Friction-Free Way To Recruit Without Prospecting Or Selling
The Problem with Prospecting & Recruiting with Social Media
Share It!
If you’re prospecting and recruiting on social media, there are many pitfalls you need to avoid in order to successfully build your organization.
First, before we talk about the top 5 WRONG ways to recruit on social media, let me quickly tell you my story…
It’s been over a decade since I entered the network marketing arena and my life took a crazy detour into the world of entrepreneurship.
I’ve undergone deep personal development and experienced more negativity than any human should have to endure, but the good news is that my story in this industry has a happy ending.
I quit my job as an engineer 2 1/2 years after joining the industry in 2008, became a 6-figure earner in direct sales by 2009, built a 7-figure internet company by 2012, and I am now the co-owner of an online direct sales company.

My journey was filled with many fumbles, embarrassing moments, and more prospecting “faux pas” than I care to share
I hope my friends, family, and strangers I have attempted to prospect have long forgotten the things I did. LOL!
But here’s a few, so you have an idea…
Have you ever invited friends over for some beers and very unsmoothly transitioned to showing the business plan to a very angry audience?
I have.
Have you ever tried to prospect your bartender, a few too many beers past ‘buzzed,’ and have him respond with, “Is this Amway?”
Doh! I have.
Here’s a good one… have you ever, while on a date, prospected a girl as a “test,” because your upline told you that if a girl is not positive about your business, she’s not a keeper?
Yep… that didn’t turn out well!
And that’s about as much as I’ll reveal because I’m starting to get really depressed remembering all this right now. Haha.
The point is, before I cast some heavy stones at some networkers, but I just wanted to let y’all know I’ve made mistakes too.
But that doesn’t mean we should go easy on those that are committing some MAJOR mistakes when recruiting with social media.
In my day, my fumbles happened offline and there is no record…thankfully!
Unfortunately, today…

The Internet Never Forgets and It’s Ruining It for Everyone Else!
I once heard that success in business is all about ‘time’ and ‘place.’
As a professional marketer, I would add ‘message’ to the equation as well.
Network marketers today are being taught methods of recruiting with social media. Unfortunately, these so often include the wrong message, at the wrong time, at the wrong place.
Here’s the truth!
There is a VERY fine line between recruiting with social media and spamming people.
I’m sorry to say that most network marketers have been turned into human spam bots by their upline and company leaders…
‘Disposable distributors’ tasked with the job of spreading the word about their company’s products or opportunity at the expense of the individual’s reputation and risking the suspension of their social media accounts.
Just recently, I asked affiliates of my company to share examples of the WRONG WAY to prospect online by sending me screenshots of the poor attempts at prospecting they receive every day…

The WRONG Way to Prospect and Recruit
Have a look at these…
Successful entrepreneurs and networkers alike eventually learn the true secret to success, and it becomes the foundation upon which their entire prospecting, recruiting and business building strategy is founded.
That secret being:
“People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care” – Theodore Roosevelt
The screenshots above are an example of a weak attempt from people recruiting with social media…
People who haven’t yet figured out that building a business is not about tricking people or finding the right copy/paste FB messages to send to strangers.
It’s about actually caring about people, becoming a person of value, and being someone uniquely positioned to help someone with their problems!
That last part is critical: “uniquely positioned to help someone with their problems.”
Any idiot can copy and paste a message into the Private Message function on Facebook.
What sets you apart from the rest of the desperate reps hitting people’s inboxes with their new “ground floor” opportunities or cash programs?
Now, this doesn’t mean prospecting online doesn’t work.
I know some very skilled recruiters who are excellent at online prospecting, but just like offline prospecting, they’ve devoted the time and effort to learn this very difficult skill and have mastered it.
And if that’s the strategy you want to deploy, you need to do it right or else!
But if you’re still a little fuzzy on whether you are a spammer or not, here’s a guide of sorts…
@media only screen and (max-width:800px) {.fusion-title.fusion-title-5{margin-top:40px!important;margin-bottom:40px!important;}}
Top 5 Warning Signs Your Social Media Prospecting Efforts are Actually SPAM
1.) Your first private message to a stranger on social media includes a link to join your opportunity.
2.) You get angry replies via private messaging and/or you have been reported as a spammer.
3.) You post links to your opportunity or website in the comments section of other people’s social media posts.
4.) You compulsively want to talk about your company or products without anyone asking you to share.
Finally… this one is the most important one…
5.) You engage in interactions online with a hidden agenda hoping to transition the topic to something that would get people interested in your opportunity without caring about knowing the other person.
This last one for me is a big one but could also be controversial.
After all, #5 is the very definition of prospecting (online or offline) that even when done right… can still feel awkward, result in people getting angry at you, and very unleveraged.
That is why I eventually decided to stop prospecting altogether.
But here’s the interesting thing…
@media only screen and (max-width:800px) {.fusion-title.fusion-title-6{margin-top:40px!important;margin-bottom:40px!important;}}
“When I Stopped Prospecting People, My Business Started Growing!”
I can’t tell you how relieved and at peace I felt, when I once again, was able to go out with my friends, visiting a family member’s home, or be in a public place without having to think about prospecting anyone.
Just enjoying being normal again was incredible after two years of being taught by my upline that “everyone was a prospect” and approaching every conversation with a hidden agenda; I was free!
That’s because it wasn’t until I STOPPED prospecting that my business actually started growing!
Weird, right?
At this point, you may be asking…
“Then how the heck did your business grow? How can you grow a network marketing business without recruiting with social media and spamming your friends and family?”
Well before I answer that, I have to say that there are people who are very skilled prospectors and recruiters who completely disregard the issues I mentioned above.
They knowingly and unashamedly, approach every interaction with a stranger as a prospecting opportunity.
Getting yelled at or cursed out by prospects is no big deal, as long as some people say ‘yes.’
And just like doing it right offline, there’s a way to successfully do it online as well. After learning and becoming very good at prospecting, I decided that I didn’t want to build my business this way.
The problem with prospecting in general, as it’s normally taught, is that the mindset going in is still about what YOU want people to do and about manipulating people into doing what you want them to do.
In other words, it’s about YOU, not them. I didn’t like that, but I still did it for a little while… until I found a better way.

The More Leveraged Alternative to 1-on-1 Prospecting, Which Won’t Make You Feel Like a Cheap Salesman
Now, I am not trying to be high and mighty about all this prospecting stuff because I’m not.
If it came down to either feeding my family with ‘stone cold’ prospecting tactics or my kids starving, I would choose stone cold prospecting every time, without remorse.
But the reason I was able to quit prospecting was that, with the help of some extraordinary mentors,
I eventually discovered an online recruiting strategy which enabled me to recruit more people in one day than the most skilled recruiter in the world can do in a month.
I was able to passively generate leads, customers, and new reps even when I was out having fun with friends and family.
(Hence why I didn’t have to worry about prospecting them!)
Rather than spending hours spamming or private messaging people on social media, I learned how to legitimately get Facebook and other networks to actually help me attract the people who are most interested in what I have to offer by using their own ads platform! (i.e. going legit!)
In fact, every day for almost 8 years now, I’ve awoken to an email inbox full of notifications for new leads, new customers, new team members, and commissions I earned while sleeping!
All without resorting to the odious and deceitful tactics commonly used when recruiting with social media in our industry.
This strategy is called ‘attraction marketing’, which is an internet marketing strategy designed for networkers and people in direct sales!
You see, if your business depends on you being on social media, sending private messages, or commenting on people’s posts all day, you are NOT doing internet marketing… despite what you may have been led to believe.
Online prospecting and internet marketing are NOT the same thing! Internet marketing is a passive strategy, which works, even when you are not.
So if you want to learn how to PASSIVELY build a business by attracting the prospects you want online, then get access to my free 10-Day Online Recruiting Bootcamp available here.
There, I reveal the strategy I’ve used for the past decade, plus.
You’ll also get more details about a book I wrote that goes into the nuts n’ bolts of my recruiting & selling formula.
Now if traditional prospecting online or offline is your thing and you want to stick to that, by all means, go for it.
There are many top trainers and earners of mine in the industry that focus on cold market recruiting skills…
(And they do ‘attraction marketing’ too!)
For me, there was simply a certain way I wanted to live my life and that was more important.
I would much rather make a ton of money in my business first and then have my friends and family beg me to tell them more about it.
It’s much better than begging my friends and family to join a business which isn’t making any money.
Which would you prefer?
Exactly!
Sincerely,
Ferny Ceballos Chief Marketing Officer Elite Marketing Pro

Take a couple of days off, take it easy, and keep coming back refreshed! It brings them exposure and makes supporters a complete part of the artist's success. At some point, if you are like me, and function by itself 14-15 hours a day, you will get burned out.). Another good idea would be to design your own exclusive merchandise (Tshirts, bags, mouse pads, mugs, handmade cards, etc. And to become honest, the royalties are incredibly decent. A street team is a group of individuals who are focused on help an artist spread the word about their work. And for that reason, I received more exposure in a couple of months than I had managed to achieve in more than three years! SELLING ONLINE AND OFFLINE 95% of poets go the self-publishing way. BUILDING A STREET TEAM You can only achieve this much by yourself. This is very simple to do, specifically if you aren't computer-savvy, in fact it is free. Finally, frustration and discouragement are section of the job. If you are an amateur photographer, why not sell your photos to other performers for their book/CD covers? UPDATING YOUR STATUS Part of your promotional time ought to be used to upgrade your status across the several networks you participate in. Always acknowledge your fans and supporters, those who work in the shadows for you personally. Reverbnation lets you do that very easily! Make a number of your skills and see what you have to offer. When you sign up for their site, you obtain access to an individual studio. From there, it is possible to upload your own movies or video clips from YouTube and stream them on a 24/7 basis. NETWORKING Cultural networking sites are essential for promotion nowadays. All you have to is a Paypal accounts. Reverbnation offers you the perfect way to do it: once your objective is launched, the website helps to keep counts for you personally and all you have to do is check your stats! The thing I love concerning this idea is normally that it allows an artist to attach with their fan base on a different level. Use TweetDeck or Hootsuite. You will find loads of broadcasts each day and the neat point is that you can also interact in chat rooms. You should be capable to rely on others. Do things YOURSELF! Also, people may also help spread the term by sharing the widgets almost everywhere on the web! If you are not camera-shy, you can also web host your own show, making use of your webcam. Also, usually do not hesitate to require tips and advice from anyone who has a verified successful background in your market. Sometimes, one little issue will make an enormous difference. Before throwing links at someone, introduce yourself properly and move on to know them just a little. I personally use Reverbnation & Audiolife. You may also promote yourself. That is something that I do monthly with Livestream (and many people love it! They will print your books, CDs, calendars, photo books, and pictures for you. Print-on-demand or POD is a great service and I recommend Lulu. And royalties are truly decent. The great thing about diversification is that it makes it harder for individuals to label you in a single category. The very best part is they are totally free! Therefore, you have the golden possiblity to "meet up with" hosts and listeners who often happen to be hosts or promoters of the art themselves. Start by thinking about the next questions: "What's my long-term goal as an artist? If you are a musician or a spoken word artist, you likely have heard about Reverbnation. I utilize it myself and I really like the fact that I could send pre-formatted news letters to my group of fans, build a street group and release missions with the click of a key, and promote my CD and tracks through easy-to-share widgets. It ensures that you have to diversify. WEBSITE/PROFILE PAGES Nowadays, if you need to attract more fans, you have to build a website or in least have a frequently updated profile page.. They offer you with a free store that you can promote everywhere you wish.) and sell it using solutions like Zazzle or Cafepress. It is possible to mention anything, address queries and issues from your fans, educate them on issues that matter to you, and invite them to be a part of discussions. It is also important that you be ready to support other performers and causes, and provide as a positive function model. While this is not a poor thought at all, additionally it is important to understand that product sales obey the 10-90 rule: 10% imagination and 90% promotion/marketing. The best blog solutions are Wordpress and Blogger." Be very honest in your answers, because they will determine your job and how long you may last available. I have hooked up with some of the most incredible artists and supporters in THE UNITED STATES and have followed their advice very cautiously. A blog is an extremely nice tool to use. They think that they can depend on the standard of their work for this to sell itself. And don't wait around for others to do it for you. They would like to know more about you and what you care for. You need to be professional in your strategy, dedicated, and alert to your environment and global issues. Both sites possess partnered to allow Reverbnation members to sell their products and music for free. I have already been a guest on many shows, which has allowed me to promote my books and CD, and tell the globe why I am a poet and spoken term artist. I noticed that CD Baby is very good. I used this moderate and got to understand great individuals.. You can be surprised by just how much help and support you will receive in return! Open a merchant account, upload your files, fill in the required info, and you also are on the way. I recommend Blog Chat Radio. To me self-publishing is even more rewarding than complicated because I must promote all my products myself, and it offers me the chance to really get to know my visitors and listeners. BLOG/COMMUNITY If you need to build your online presence, it is vital that your fans and followers be engaged. All you need is a PayPal account. What's my mission statement? Always keep a laptop and pen handy, and write any recommendation and idea given you.-) For a website, use Wix or Weebly. And when you are really fluent in two or more languages, you could also translate documents. Then, feel free to embed the display screen anywhere you want. On the other hand, street teamers get free stuff, which is always nice! You can also join writing communities and forums like Red Room and share a few of your stuff there. They're excellent! LAST WORDS Remember this: treat others the way you would like to end up being treated. This is actually the first step to obtain respect from fellow performers, and hence exposure. DIVERSIFICATION I've a motto: the more you need to present, the more exposure you will get! You will attract more supporters. Use your Paypal account address to get royalties when most people purchase your products during your personal (free) store. What do I would like to perform with my creation(s)? You need to be in a position to do it in a single convenient place. Setup your store (in two a few minutes), upload your files, fill in the information, and begin selling your CDs, MP3 albums, individual tracks, Tshirst and tote bags within minutes! However, it can be very time-consuming. I acquired introduced to many new listeners. The visitors to my site offers been large since I started listening to BTR shows!; If you're a poet/writer, you could offer poetry/speech-on-demand or proofreading services. You may also use Internet radio. If you only target music or spoken phrase, there are a few nice options out there. Make sure that you check out Facebook, Twitter, Ning, YouTube, and MySpace. You can even sell your music digitally, using major retailers like ITunes or Amazon. Ning is especially impressive, as it offers tons of options! And most importantly: build relationships before thinking of sales! IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS A lot of independent artists think that once their CD or reserve is available, the work is performed. You may expire up attracting a whole lot of different people!

Safe Nomads (8). Sophia Cheng and Jayme Elkins, UK. The life of a nomadic couple.
Mark Twain once said, “There ain’t no surer way to find out whether you like people or hate them than to travel with them.” And I’ve had hundreds of encounters that prove the old man right. Indeed, no matter how nice, cool or easy-going a friend can be while settled, the simple act of traveling can turn them into awful creatures. But the opposite is also true: someone you never think you could ever like proves to be a wonderful travel companion and a magnet for great encounters and experiences.
Now let’s take Mark Twain’s peer-reviewed assertion and try to apply it to a couple. All of a sudden, after – say – 5 years of being in a relationship the two decide to leave home and travel the world together for God knows how long. What will they learn about each other? Will it work? Will they break up under the constant pressure of finding new places, new jobs, and adjusting themselves to new geographical and cultural climates?
“We must be doing something right.” says Jayme, a 40 year old musician and composer from England. Next to him, Sophia Cheng, 10 years Jayme’s junior and 7 year girlfriend nods lightly while sipping jasmine tea on the terrace of Café Veda in Canggu, Bali.
They must be doing something right, indeed, their relationship has strengthened since they left home almost 2 years ago. The first thing was finding each other, I’ve rarely met two people so different and yet so balanced as a couple.
Mr. Yin and Mrs. Yang
Sophia is the doer. Goal-oriented, pragmatic and disciplined, she still preserves that corporate discipline that put her on the list of “The UK’s Best 30 Young Communication Professionals” in 2012.
Jayme, on the other hand, is a soft-spoken bohemian, a dreamer and a bit of a philosopher. And while Sophia hides her sensitivity behind a curtain of assertiveness, Jayme wears the cloak of apparent feebleness to disguise his strength. If Yin and Yang were ever to incarnate, they would look just like these two guys.
Sophia excels at organizing and making new connections but Jayme also has strengths his partner admits she lacks. She is the one who encourages him to keep working and move forward, but he is the one to blow a whistle when she’s been working too long and should stop and unwind.
Among the things Sophia and Jayme admittedly have in common is their profound and sincere care for the environment. They use modular mobile phones which are built with conflict-free minerals and not upgraded every year, any repair is easily fixed simply by replacing the broken module. They wear clothes made from sustainably-sourced, environmentally friendly bamboo. And when they travel, (which happens quite often) they embrace the good habit of offsetting their air miles – to offset their guilt.
The Becoming
Up until 2014, Sophia had a “normal” job in Corporate Communications. Then she received a job offer for a role that would take her to New York, Indonesia and Peru, sharing the messages of indigenous peoples.
She accepted, and for the following year traveled while Jayme stayed in London working part-time and writing soundtracks for various projects. Two years ago, however, they decided it was time to turn traveling into a permanent lifestyle and leave the London ratrace. They took baby steps, short stays in Europe to test the nomadic lifestyle staying in Slovenia, Paris, then Madrid, where they studied Spanish so they could work with Latin American communities across the Atlantic.
“Usually, Sophia suggests where to go and I’m pretty easy going about it.” Jayme admits, cheerfully.
Sophia: “I’ve had the travel bug for long as I can remember, I was lucky enough to travel with my family and take a gap year at 21. I always said I’d get away again before I was 30. Life goal: tick.”
Jayme: “Initially, it was really frightening. I was afraid of travelling long-term, going to places like Central and South America. My family don’t do anything like that, it is totally unheard of. Partly I did it because my mind always evokes the worst case scenario and I wanted to challenge that, to see what I was so afraid of. Everywhere I went, the picture I had in my head was so wrong.”
For Jayme, the big departure was also more of a philosophical statement about life itself.
Jayme: “I’ve always been a deep thinker, as a teenager I didn’t understand the concept of work, I hate money and the illusion it portrays. I struggled for a long time working in offices, hating it and feeling lost in society because my mindset didn’t fit. As a teenager I was told ‘you need to find a proper job, you’ll never make money out of music.’ What is ‘proper’? What is success? And is it measured solely by my paycheck?”
Sophia: “One of the reasons that drove us to leave in the first place was to challenge the status quo. Our own, and that of the society we are part of. I am so lucky being from the UK, I inherited privilege. I believe it is my responsibility to be useful to the world and ‘live deliberately’. I think that every decision we make should be fully conscious, we should commit to it with our eyes wide open. That’s what we have been trying to do over the last couple of years: to keep our eyes open.”
US was next: New York, New Orleans, Los Angeles. Then Nicaragua, Colombia and Mexico. While moving from one place to another, Sophia was in regular touch with her clients, held work meetings on and offline, built up her new client base and began writing for the couple’s blog „With Many Roots”, while Jayme helped his former employer and wrote music for video documentaries. He also began the tricky work of trying to sell himself.
In January this year they came to Asia in part for Sophia’s work, in part out of curiosity. “I had a feeling Jayme would love Asia.” she adds, almost smugly.
“2017’s been hectic. We haven’t stayed anywhere longer than two and a half weeks this year. We are staying still in Bali for a while!”
Life as a digital nomadic couple
Sophia: “I think there are many challenges in a nomadic lifestyle. You face more uncertainty and there is so much new stimulus every day; new conversations, new interactions. It’s easy to stay in the digital nomad bubble, so we try and make sure we get to know a little of the local culture, learn some of the language and spread our spending. On top of that you have to move forward with your career, find new clients, have your meetings, and meet deadlines. At the end of the day this is a wonderful way to live but it’s not all sunsets and filters!”
How has this lifestyle changed the couple’s life?
Sophia: “In our current lifestyle, the highs can be higher but the lows can be lower too.”
Jayme: “Leaving home was like a magnifying glass on our relationship showing us what issues we had and how to address them. We had to do that faster than we thought. We are closer as a couple now. We are trying to be more open with each other and communicate how we’re feeling. We do try and have fun too, it’s surprisingly easy to forget to do that! We hiked Mount Ijen on Java last week, that was incredible.”
Sophia adds, “We proactively seek out separate spaces to work or different people to meet to prevent things getting too intense. Bali has been great for that.”
On technology
Sophia’s globe-trotting online marketer office fits in a rucksack: photo camera, phone, laptop and a laptop stand for keeping a correct posture during the long working hours. She has to be up for 3 different time zones, her team being spread out in Europe, the Americas and Asia.
Jayme’s studio, while a bit heavier, still fits in a bag: a laptop, soundcard and stand, an alien-like MIDI keyboard with keys that are almost sensual to the touch, a handful of cables, and a classic Spanish guitar on top.
With all this gear packed up, the two can cover almost every type of human communication service, from writing to photography, recording to complex soundtracks. They admit that their nomadic careers could not have been possible without technological innovation (I keep thinking of that keyboard!), but they don’t forget to add a pinch of salt to the tech-will-save-the-world soup.
Sophia: “I am a reluctant optimist when it comes to that. Technology has a lot of potential to help but I think that if we hide behind our technologies, then we’re not gonna solve the world’s problems. It’s opened up the range of possibilities to communicate but narrowed our echo chamber. It helps me get in touch with my colleagues around the world but it also prevents me from saying hello to the person next to me. I think we need technology but we need to find a balance that doesn’t exclude real life, real human interaction. ”
What makes them feel secure
Jayme: “Now that you’re asking it I realize that our relationship and what we have helps me considerably. Also when we come to a new place, there’s something about the room, the people, the area, it has to have something, it’s this feeling in my gut that makes me feel more relaxed. I feel protected in certain spaces, in others not at all.”
Sophia: “For me it’s the rituals and elements of routine that help me feel secure – like writing in my journal every day, keeping some kind of structure. When we land in a new place we put a lot of effort into finding a temporary home and ensuring (by photos and by conversations with the hosts) that it’s going to be a comfortable and safe nest for us, then we go for a walk and find a market, note the nearest cafe, co-working space, green space and realize we have all the essentials. It’s amazing how quickly a place can feel like home.”
Jayme adds: “For me security also comes from knowing that I live a free life. Each month that we keep going builds our confidence. It started out with 2-3 months on the road in mind and before we knew it we were at six months looking at the next set of flights! The more miles we’ve left behind, the more secure we feel about ones ahead.”

My year in games - 2016
So for the past few years, I’ve been recapping the games I’ve played for the first time in the past year. I was going to do things differently for 2017 as the first 6 months of this year were full of absolutely amazing games and the second half of the year is looking just as good. However, I realized I actually never posted my 2016 games here, so let me do that first! Here are the games I played in 2016 and what I thought of them:
The Witness (PC) - I actually wasn’t that big of a fan of Braid, but I like puzzles so I picked up Johnathan Blow’s latest game. Quite fun with a lot of great puzzles, but suffers from indie art game syndrome where it thinks it’s more amazing and profound than it actually is. Beat the main ending, didn’t beat every puzzle.
Star Fox Zero (Wii U) - The controls in this game get a lot of hate, but outside of a couple of circumstances, I thought the gyro controls made the game way more fun and with some practice became extremely rewarding. However, the game is insanely short, and I had pretty much tired of the limited content after just 5 hours. It has less content than even Star Fox 64 which is unacceptable for a supposedly major release in 2016. Beat the game, didn’t get every medal because I’m not a completionist.
Star Fox Guard (Wii U) - The tower defense game that came with Star Fox Zero. I’m not a big fan of Tower Defense and only played it once for about an hour.
Uncharted 4 (PS4) - Being tired of Nintendo not supporting the Wii U, I decided to pick up a PS4 and so Uncharted 4 was the first game I played. Personally, the only other Uncharted I really liked was 2 (1 was shit, 3 was mediocre) so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The game has an excruciatingly slow beginning, but picks up after a while. Never reaches the heights of 2, but ends up being a fun enough adventure by the end. Beat the game.
Gravity Rush Remastered (PS4) - I like this game way more than I should. The plot sort of falls apart in the second half and the gameplay can be very repetitive, but this is mitigated by the fact that flying around with control of gravity is a blast. It also helps that it has an excellent soundtrack. I actually delayed beating Uncharted 4 so I could play this all of the way through. Actually got sad when I got the Platinum trophy (my first!) since it meant there was no more game left. Beat the game.
Batman Arkham Knight (PS4) - The Batman Arkham games are pretty much all great including, IMO, the non-Rocksteady developed Origins which I feel actually has the best story. Arkham Knight is no exception, although it does have one notable weakness: the Battank. Driving around with the Batmobile is fun, but as soon as it goes into tank mode, the combat becomes repetitive and boring: two things this series has typically done a great job of avoiding. Beat the game, didn’t get all of the Riddler trophies and see the true ending, though.
No Man’s Sky (PS4) - I…actually liked this game? I wanted a relaxing game I could just waste time doing meaningless (but somewhat fun) tasks in for a few weeks, and that’s what I got. I wouldn’t recommend it for normal people though, as it’s lacking content, but by now you’ve probably read about that Didn’t get to the center of the universe because I don’t like losing progress.
Journey (PS4) - I know everybody and their mother loves this game, but I just didn’t. I do not care for games that put storytelling way over gameplay unless they go full in (more on that in a bit), and I really don’t care when the storytelling isn’t very compelling. I felt like I knew where the game was going from the moment I turned it on, and got more and more bored as I was continuously proven right. The multiplayer aspect however, was a very good idea. Beat the game.
Shantae Risky’s Revenge (PS4) - A rather fun platformer. It’s pretty short (I beat it only a little over 2 hours) but it has some fun ideas. There’s two areas that feel like the platformer equivalent of Zelda dungeons which were extremely good, but they only made up about 30% of the game. The rest was more standard (but decent) fare. Beat the game.
Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse (PS4) - A much better platformer than Risky’s Revenge. It has similar Zelda-ish dungeons but more of them spread throughout the game. The presentation is better with lovely HD artwork, and the game’s sense of humor is excellent. Highly recommended. Beat the game.
Transformers Devastation (PS4) - A PS+ free game which I otherwise wouldn’t have played since I don’t give the slightest care about Transformers. I didn’t make it very far into the game, but it was a pretty fun and very challenging action game from what I had played. Didn’t come close to beating the game as I got a PSVR the next week.
Playstation VR Worlds (PSVR) - And here’s where we get into the wild and crazy world of VR. I bought a PSVR because I was curious about VR and had cash to burn, but I really didn’t try it until this game. VR Worlds is really a collection of 5 tech demos I MEAN FULLY REALIZED GAMES MOST DEFINITELY NOT TECH DEMOS BEING SOLD BY SONY, NOPE. Some are good. Some are not. I’ll go into each game in a bit, but let me just say if it had not come in my PSVR launch bundle, I would not recommend buying it for $40.
Ocean Descent - A simple experience in which you stand in a shark cage in the ocean. At the end of the main dive, a shark attacks the cage. This is the first thing I played in VR and judging by the fact the game comes with the headset in the launch bundle and the fact that it always defaults to Ocean Descent on bootup, it’s basically designed to be a first experience…and succeeds massively. Within seconds, I was giggling like a little boy at how awesome it was. VR is the real deal! There is no gameplay, so it’s a very easy thing to show to non-gamers. I also showed this demo to my parents who are not gamers, and they loved it as well.
Luge VR - It’s street luge you control with your head. The graphics look horrible and blurry, even after properly callibrating the headset. I played it once, and that was enough.
The London Heist - A 40 minute interactive experience in which you help steal a diamond. It’s split between about 70% interactive cutscenes and 30% shooting action sequences. Cutscenes are far more effective in VR and I don’t mind them as much. The shooting sequences are great. However, outside of a choice right at the end of the experience, there’s not much of a reason to replay it other than just for fun. It does have a shooting gallery mode which is somewhat neat.
Scavenger’s Odyssey - A FPS in which you pilot a mech. So far, this is one of the only times I’ve gotten VR sickness. VR sickness, for those who don’t know, is basically what happens when your eyes tell your body it should be moving when it knows it isn’t. This is why most VR games either use teleporting for movement or give you a fixed point of reference while moving (like being in the cockpit of a mech) instead of just giving you standard FPS controls. While this game does try to sidestep VR sickness by putting you in a mech, it also involves jumping and flipping gravity which is what pushed me over the top. I quit for a while but eventually came back and finished it. It’s...ok. Nothing really special.
Danger Ball - An arcade game that’s effectively like cooler PONG except your opponent is in front of you (like in actual ping pong) and you move your paddle by looking in a direction. It’s kind of fun, but in order to put spin on your ball, you have to flick your neck which kind of hurts because I am out of shape and spend all day on a computer. It’s kind of fun, but not something I’d really return to.
Batman Arkham VR (PSVR) - It’s a Batman game in which you don’t fight and it only lasts 40 minutes to run through the story. While this is disappointing, it’s not as much as it would seem for two main reasons. First, the game is only 20 bucks. Second, VR is awesome and being Batman is awesome. The story is somewhat interesting and the VR is probably the most immersive out of any title. The suiting up and entry into the Batcave sequence is honestly one of my favorite experiences I’ve ever had in a game entirely because VR sells it. As for the game itself, I liked that they emphasized the detective aspect of Batman and would have gladly wanted a longer game with more cases even if it still didn’t have combat (although it would be nice). The game has optional Riddler challenge upon completion so the full amount of gametime is probably more like 3 hours, which isn’t too shabby. Love the experience, despite its length.
Rigs (PSVR) - I’m not much of an FPS person, but after playing the demo of Rigs, I decided to go ahead and buy it. Rigs is a team-based FPS in which you drive giant mechs and compete in a sort of sports league. It’s probably the most complete experience currently available in PSVR as it has single player offline modes and online play. It could use more modes and maps (which is why it’s a good thing they’ve announced another map is coming soon) but it’s still pretty fun. I’ve always hated shooting with control sticks on consoles which is why I like that you can aim with your head. VR also makes the scale of the game feel massive which I love.
Windlands (PSVR) - A first person platformer where you use grappling hooks to get around. This is the first VR game I’ve played with full locomotion with no static frame of reference and I thankfully did not get sick. The game itself is pretty decent. There’s some fun platforming but it’s a bit bland as there’s no enemies or major obstacles: just you vs. the geometry of the level. Overall, probably not the best use of VR.
Job Simulator (PSVR) - A game in which you visit the museum of jobs run by robots in the year 2050. The robots don’t exactly know how these jobs worked which leads to…let’s just say inaccurate emulations of Office Worker, Chef, Convenience Store Clerk, and Mechanic jobs. This is a good example of a game that would suck if not for being in VR. There’s something that’s a ton of fun about throwing crap around and screwing with people in VR. The game has a great sense of humor as well. However, the game is light on content (a major pain point with most early VR games) and some of the jobs get repetitive. Still, it’s a good game to show to people who are new to VR and want to see what it’s like to use motion controls to interact with the environment.
Call of Duty Jackal Assault (PSVR) - A free game in which you pilot a ship in space and shoot down other ships. The detail in the ship is great and space combat is way easier when you can look separately of aiming thanks to VR. However, it only lasts about 5 minutes, which I guess is fair given it’s free with no strings attached…outside of the massive terms of service you have to read prior to playing.
Star Wars Battlefront (PS4) - I bought this on sale for less than $8 because of the VR experience coming soon. I never bought it originally because it seemed like every other modern shooter I don’t like where only a couple of shots can kill you and you have regenerating health…and that’s exactly what it is. It can be fun from time to time, but I just suck at it and given the offline AI is stupid, I can’t really get any better either as there’s no good way to train. The VR mission is pretty nice, but only 20 minutes long and features some absolutely horrible voice acting for your playable character that tries its best to ruin the mission.
Bound (PS4/PSVR) - I bought this because it was 50% off at the same time I was picking up Battlefront and it’s got a VR mode and I’m starving for VR content. It’s very artistic like Journey, but the more platformy gameplay makes it feel more gameplay based. Also, the fact that it’s very immersive in VR really helps. Hell, I’d probably have liked Journey a whole lot more if it were in VR as well. I haven’t finished this, however, because the VR camera was kind of rough at launch. They’ve since patched it but I still haven’t returned to it because there’s been pretty much nonstop games I want/put tons of time into this year.

The Problem with Prospecting & Recruiting on Social Media
This October will mark 11 years (2005) since I entered the network marketing arena and my life took a crazy detour into the world of entrepreneurship, deep personal development and experiencing more negativity than any human should have to endure.
The good news is that my story in this industry has a happy ending.
I quit job as an engineer 2 1/2 years after joining the industry in 2008, became a 6-figure earner in direct sales by 2009, built a 7-figure internet company by 2012 and I am now the co-owner of an online direct sales company, which I first joined as an affiliate back in 2006.
My journey however was not without many fumbles, embarrassing moments and more prospecting faux pas than I care to share and I hope my friends, family & strangers I attempted to prospect have long forgotten the things I did. LOL
But here’s a few, so you have an idea…
Have you ever invited friends over for some beers and very unsmoothly transitioned to showing the plan to a very angry audience? I have.
Have you ever tried to prospect your bartender, a few too many beers past ‘buzzed’ and have him respond with, “Is this Amway?” Doh! I have.
Here’s a good one… have you ever prospected a girl, while on a date as a “test,” because your upline told you that if a girl is not positive about your business, she’s not a keeper? Yep… didn’t turn out well.
And that’s about as much as I’ll reveal, because I’m starting to get really depressed remembering all this right now. Ha ha ha…
The point is, I’m about to cast some heavy stones at some networkers, but I just wanted to let ya’ll know that I’ve made mistakes too… but that doesn’t mean we should be going easy on those that are committing some MAJOR prospecting mistakes on Social Media and online.
In my day, my fumbles happened offline and there is thankfully no record.
Unfortunately, today…
The Internet Never Forgets and It’s Ruining It for Everyone Else
I once heard that success in business is all about ‘time’ and ‘place’. As a professional marketer, I would add ‘message’ to the equation as well.
Unfortunately, network marketers today are being taught online prospecting methods, which include the wrong message, at the wrong time and most definitely in all the wrong places!
Here’s the truth!
There is a VERY fine line between prospecting on social media and spamming people. I’m sorry to say that most network marketers have been turned into human spam bots by their upline and company leaders…
‘Disposable distributors’ tasked with the job of spreading the word about their company’s products or opportunity, at the expense of the individual’s reputation and risking the suspension of their social media accounts.
Just recently, I asked affiliates of my company to share examples of the WRONG WAY to prospect online, by sending me screenshots of the poor attempts at prospecting they receive every day…
The WRONG Way to Prospect and Recruit
Successful entrepreneurs and networkers alike eventually learn the true secret to success and it becomes the foundation upon which their entire prospecting, recruiting and business building strategy is founded.
That secret being:
“People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care” – Theodore Roosevelt
The screenshots above are weak prospecting attempts from people who haven’t yet figured out that building a business is not about tricking people or finding the right copy/paste FB messages to send to strangers.
It’s about actually caring about people, becoming a person of value and being someone uniquely positioned to help someone with their problems.
That last one is critical “uniquely positioned to help someone with their problems.”
Any idiot can copy and paste a message into the Private Message function on Facebook.
What sets you apart from the rest of the desperate reps hitting people’s inboxes with their new “ground floor” opportunities or cash programs?
Now this doesn’t mean, prospecting online doesn’t work.
Top 5 Warning Signs That Your Prospecting Efforts are Actually SPAM
1) You first private message to a stranger on social media includes a link to join your opportunity.
2) You get angry replies via private messaging and/or you have been reported as a spammer.
3) You post links to your opportunity or website in the comments section of other people’s social media posts
4) You compulsively want to talk about your company or products, without anyone asking you to share.
Finally… this one is the most important one…
5) You engage in interactions online, with a hidden agenda, hoping to transition the topic to something that would get people interested in your opportunity, without caring about knowing the other person.
This last one for me is a big one but could also be controversial.
After all, #5 is the very definition of prospecting (online or offline), which even when done right… can still feel awkward, result in people getting angry at you and very unleveraged, which is why I eventually decided to stop prospecting all together.
But here’s the interesting thing…
“When I Stopped Prospecting People, My Business Started Growing!”
I can’t tell you how relieved and at peace I felt, when I once again, was able to go out with my friends, visiting a family member’s home or be in a public place without having to think about prospecting anyone.
Just enjoying being normal again, was incredible, after two years of being taught by my upline that “everyone was a prospect” and approaching every conversation with a hidden agenda, I was free!
That’s because it wasn’t until I STOPPED prospecting, that my business actually started growing!
Weird, right?
At this point, you may be asking, “then how the hell did your business grow?”
Well before I answer that, I have to say that there are people who are very skilled prospectors and recruiters who completely disregard the issues I mentioned above.
They knowingly and without shame, approach every interaction with a stranger as a prospecting opportunity.
Getting yelled at or cursed out by prospects is no big deal, as long as some people say ‘yes.’
And just like doing it right offline, there’s a way to successfully do it online as well. After learning and becoming very good at prospecting, I decided that I didn’t want to build my business this way.
The problem with prospecting in general, as it’s normally taught, is that the mindset going in, is still about what YOU want people to do and about manipulating people into doing what you want them to do.
In other words, it’s about YOU, not them. I didn’t like that, but I still did it for a little while… until I did find a better way.
The More Leveraged Alternative to 1-on-1 Prospecting, Which Won’t Make You Feel Like a Cheap Sales Man
Now, I am not trying to be high and mighty about all this prospecting stuff, because I’m not.
If it came down to feeding my family with ‘stone cold’ prospecting tactics or my kids starving, I choose stone cold prospecting every time, without remorse.
But the reason I was able to quit prospecting was because, with the help of some extraordinary mentors, I eventually discovered an online recruiting strategy, which…
Enabled me to recruit more people in 1 Day, than the most skilled recruiter in the world can do in 1 month I was able to passively generate leads, customers and new reps – even when I was out having fun with friends and family.
(Hence why I didn’t have to worry about prospecting them!)
Rather than spending hours spamming or private messaging people on social media, I learned how to legitimately get Facebook and other networks to actually help me attract the people who are most interested in what I have to offer, using their ads platform! (i.e. going legit!)
In fact, every day for almost 8 years now, I’ve awoken to an email inbox full of notifications for new leads, new customers, new team members and commissions I earned while sleeping!
This strategy is called ‘attraction marketing’, which is an internet marketing strategy designed for networkers and people in direct sales!
You see, if your business depends on you being on social media, sending private messages or commenting on people’s posts all day, you are NOT doing internet marketing… despite what you may have been led to believe.
Online prospecting and internet marketing are NOT the same thing!
Internet marketing is a passive strategy, which works, even when you are not.
If you want to learn how it works, I actually reveal the entire strategy I’ve used for the past 8 years, in a free 10-Day Online Recruiting Bootcamp available here.
You’ll also get more details about a book I wrote, which is goes into the nuts n’ bolts of my recruiting & selling formula.
I would much rather make a ton of money in my business first and then have my friends and family beg me to tell them more about it it.
It’s much better than begging my friends and family to join a business which isn’t making any money.
Which would you prefer?
Exactly!
Sincerely, Ferny Ceballos Chief Marketing Officer Elite Marketing Pro

Battlefield 3: The brand new King of Console FPS Video games?
While human beings think about First character shooter (FPS) Games, Name of duty is nearly usually the name that is synonymous with FPS gaming. For better or worse, COD has been a juggernaut on the subject of FPS console gaming. But, in February 2011, Dice (EA Digital Illusions Innovative Leisure) discovered they have been working on Battlefield three, and this despatched shockwaves via the gaming community. For the primary because 2005, they have been freeing an immediate sequel to Battlefield 2, one of the best FPS Games of all time. Now not handiest become Battlefield 3 rather hyped, however, it was also coming out per week before Present day War three. It quickly has become a Battlefield.Vs. Call of obligation competition for FPS supremacy. This has become an indirect message to infinity ward that once four years, their reign because the kings of FPS Games was being challenged and in all likelihood coming to an give up. Now after almost a yr of each Video games being launched and all the hype is long past, did Battlefield 3 dethrone Call of obligation as the king of console FPS Games?
Pix, Sound, and Setting:
Battlefield 3 is ready inside the near future. The sport is particularly a multiplayer game, but it does have a single participant campaign mode. inside the unmarried campaign, you are taking manager of numerous army operations including a force recon marine, a Russian spec ops officer, an F-18 fighter pilot, andanM1A2 tank operator. The tale of Battlefield three is especially interesting and attractive. As you development through the story there are many twists and turns. The main issues of the tale are an upcoming struggle in 2014 which spans from Iran to France. Battlefield 3 does an excellent job of mixing the movement and the story together. Normal, Battlefield 3 has a solid unmarried player tale.
While the story is strong, a huge question that many human beings marvel approximately are the Images. When Cube showcased Battlefield three at gaming conventions, the Photos regarded out of the ordinary. The pictures of the tank and the sands of Karkland have been really first rate. The level of detail turned into unseen in another sport before this.
But, all that photos was pre-rendered and anticipated to appearance right. Whilst put into a real-time Placing with lots of converting variables, did BF3 deliver the identical quantity of intensity and rich realism in it’s Photographs? It truely did. Battlefield 3 is virtually placed a beautiful game, Dice put $one hundred million greenbacks into advertising and marketing and it’s apparent they desired to expose off a product they are happy with. Battlefield 3′s Pictures are made on a brand new Frostbite 2 engine and new character animation era referred to as ANT. The frostbite engine permits The game to create monstrous details, dynamic shadows, and smooth textures all at some point of a massive environment At the same time as it is all destructible. The ANT person animation is terrific, each soldier appears distinctly realistic with facial expressions that change While the motion heats up.
The single player campaign in Battlefield 3 spans many locations together with Iran, Big apple, and Paris. Maximum of the areas are city with many homes and Dice did a exquisite activity adding clean element to every place. There are lots of colourful colorations and Battlefield three has brilliant distance terrain.
The Images within the multiplayer maps also are very astonishing. There are nine most important maps, No longer such as the downloadable content material. These maps are Caspian Boarder, Damavand Height, Grand bazaar, Kharg Island, Noshahr Canals, Operation Firestorm, Operation Metro, Seine Crossing, and Tehran Highway. each of these maps has it’s specific elements and style. Dice did a outstanding activity of creating the multiplayer enjoy one-of-a-kind in each map. Caspian Boarder is a forested map, that’s sincerely big. It consists of buildings and forests and is remarkable for sniping and using cars. Damavand Top is set in a dark and rainy marketplace vicinity. Kharg Island is ready in a rocky island and has an ocean surrounding it. Noshahr Canals is about in an business location with diverse canals you do war in.
Seine Crossing is a vibrant coloured map targeted in Paris. Tehran Highway is the last primary map and it’s centered in an urban place in Iran in the course of the night. Common, the Photographs in Battlefield three are excellent, from the single player campaign to the various multiplayer maps, there is lots of variety in every map graphically.
The sound in Battlefield three is some of the quality sound quality I have ever heard of any game. each bullet whizzing with the aid of sounds sharp and realistic and while you get right sufficient you could pinpoint in which it came from. The tanks, jets, and different car sound results are all amazingly realistic. The voice performing is terrific, and it surely looks like your a part of the movement. The sport additionally features a 19 song respectable soundtrack composed by Johan Skugge and Jukka Rintamki. The sound in Battlefield 3 may be very extraordinary. Average, the Graphics in Battlefield three are tremendous, from the unmarried participant marketing campaign to the various multiplayer map, there may be plenty of variety in each map graphically.

Controls and Gameplay:
The controls for Battlefield 3 are your wellknown First person shooter controls. They may be custom designed, however the default Setting is pressing L1 to purpose and R1 to hearth, movements completed by the left analog stick. The proper analog stick allows you to move the digicam around. Conserving down the analog stick allows you to dash. urgent triangle allows you to change weapons, circle is used to have interaction with items inside the environment, rectangular is used for reloading or picking up a weapon, and the X button is used to leap. The proper and left diagonal buttons are used to switch among technologies you’ve got, the up button is used to toggle laser sight, and down is used to toggle between firemodes such as automated and burst fire. The R2 button lets in for a quick knife, While the L2 lets you throw a frag grenade. The controls are easy to research, however tough to grasp. Gaining knowledge of the controls for riding a tank or flying a jet may be perplexing at the beginning, and do have a small Mastering curve. Universal, the controls are extremely good for Battlefield 3.
Even as the Photos, terrific sound nice, and interesting tale all powerful and set the inspiration for a sport. None of this stuff preserve a candle to the Most important part of Games. The gameplay is the coronary heart and soul of Video games. Dice had a bold task Whilst creating gameplay that might be speedy, interesting, and severe sufficient to knock Name of obligation from it is throne as console gaming king. The team at Dice delivered in lots of areas, however additionally fell brief in pretty a few.
Battlefield 3 makes use of the Frostbite 2 engine. This engine permits for absolutely destructible environments, superior physics, and real-time radiosity. All of these things basically imply that the physics and Photographs of Battlefield three are vastly stepped forward for every pretty much every game before it. Bullets are capable of penetrate via walls seamlessly, the the front wall of a building may be blown open from a tank shot, a grenade can ship particles flying anywhere Whilst it explodes. Battlefield three is one of the Maximum practical FPS Video games accessible. Such a lot of things can show up, but the frostbite 2 engine streamlines them and permits The sport to run smoothly by way of rendering textures at a quick fee. This allows the action and exhilaration to occur with none lag. There are 3 modes of gameplay in Battlefield three: the single player campaign, a co-op mode, and multiplayer mode.
The single player marketing campaign appears great and has many distinct places, But it can get a bit repetitive. The fact of the problem is that Battlefield three is commonly a multiplayer sport. The single player marketing campaign is a good manner of Studying the basics before you go online or in co-op, but it offers no actual replayability. It would have also been high-quality to peer the offline map mode from Battlefield 2, wherein you could play with bots. However, Battlefield three does Now not offer this.
The co-op mode permits you to crew up with a participant on line and complete 6 missions. There are an expansion of objectives which you and your companion have to entire in every project. Co-op may be lots of a laugh Whilst your gambling with a friend, But Battlefield three doesn’t offer any break up-screen co-op. This may certainly suck if you have pals over, as theres no way to play collectively except you have 2 Playstation 3s.
The multiplayer mode is The principle appeal of The game. In Battlefield three, there are 6 multiplayer gamemodes: Conquest, Rush, crew Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, Conquest Domination, and Squad rush. every gamemode has a one-of-a-kind objective and gambling each one is a exclusive multiplayer enjoy all collectively. A few gamemodes require particular teamwork, Whilst others can be every guy for himself. The Conquest gamemode is the classic Battlefield 3 gamemode, in which groups fight in a large scale map for manage of diverse bases. This gamemode is great appropriate for teamwork and automobile Warfare. In my view, conquest continues to be the great gamemode. it is exciting and you have a selection of ways to gain factors.
In Rush, there are groups. One group tries to attack and damage an M-COM station, Even as the alternative defends it. Squad Rush is largely the same, however in a extra constrained surroundings. team Deathmatch is any other traditional mode in which you’re part of 12 man or woman team vs any other 12 individual crew. The goal is largely to kill as many enemies as you may and attain a certain quantity of kills as a group. This mode does not have any motors and is all approximately just going out with weapons blazing and killing as many humans as viable. Squad Deathmatch is similar to group Deathmatch, but in preference to 2 teams of 12, there are four groups of four humans scuffling with each different to reach a sure quantity of kills. Conquest Domination has two groups of 8 humans fighting in a near quarters vicinity. it’s just like Conquest, essentially the identical, except for it is extra restricted and has extra tactical making plans When attacking a base.
when you pick a gamemode, you’re given four lessons to choose.there is the Attack elegance that are the infantry infantrymen however also the medics. Choosing Assault permits you to rack up kills and additionally revive dead teammates. The Engineer elegance is able to repair automobiles and convey rocket launchers to take out different cars. The Assist class is a category that offers others with ammunition and additionally bring heavy guns which might be capable of kill many enemies. Recon is the remaining and final magnificence, and they’re the snipers in The game. Recon is useful for removing opponents from a distance.
Battlefield three places a huge emphasis on teamwork and squads. each magnificence has predominant strengths and weaknesses, and to be successful and win having the ability to utilize each one is crucial. Upon joining a conquest game or another gamemode you are positioned into a squad. Being able to provide you with processes and choosing the proper instructions for the proper situations is what makes Battlefield three stick out from other First man or woman shooter Games. Battlefield 3 has VOIP Aid which means you can talk on a headset together with your teammates, additionally it is ingame messaging. Battlefield three is a strong recreation in case you play it with none other buddies, but with friends it’s quite genuinely one of the first-class Video games ever made. This game prospers on teamwork.
One of problem of this recreation are the maps. The equal maps that are very specified can turn out to be traumatic, because they are very massive. you can pass mins with none fight, and also health is misplaced very easily. it’s very easy to die in this recreation whilst you first start off. every other predominant problem is all of the downloadable content material. You are No longer obligated to buy DLC, but The game does sense empty while not having all the maps and objects. The DLC can bring the $60 price tag of Battlefield 3 all the manner up to $one hundred twenty five. One huge hassle in BF3 is this game requires you to have a web pass. New Games include an online skip, however used Games don’t. an online skip can most effective be used once, and shopping for a brand new one charges $10. This became carried out to enhance income, however it absolutely does hurt the resale cost of Battlefield 3.
Controls: 9/10
Gameplay: eight/10
Is that this recreation worth buying? final Mind:
Battlefield 3 does loads of things right: the Pictures are outstanding, sound nice is exquisite, and the multiplayer could be very numerous and interesting. However, it also misses in plenty of regions. No cut up screen co-op, no replayability within the unmarried player marketing campaign, no offline maps, luxurious DLC content material, and gameplay that can turn out to be repetitive after some time depart a lot to be desired. Battlefield three is in the end Not the progressive recreation that it changed into hailed to be While the first couple of minutes of footage were found out. On the same time, it’s in no way a awful sport. when you buy Battlefield three, You are getting a solid, finely made First individual shooter. it’s similar to name of duty within the FPS factor, however the squad based totally gadget, cars, and huge maps make it a totally exceptional revel in. I’d notably endorse buying Battlefield three, it is one of those Games that you could locate your self coming lower back to time and again once more. Battlefield three is a solid recreation and a specific buy for Playstation 3 proprietors. I deliver it a 9/10.

Three Proven Ways to Grow Your Network Marketing Business, Using the Internet
Three Proven Ways to Grow Your Network Marketing Business, Using the Internet
@media only screen and (max-width:800px) {.fusion-title.fusion-title-2{margin-top:40px!important;margin-bottom:40px!important;}}

Just recently, I asked affiliates of my company to share examples of the WRONG WAY to prospect online by sending me screenshots of the poor attempts at prospecting they receive every day…
@media only screen and (max-width:800px) {.fusion-title.fusion-title-4{margin-top:40px!important;margin-bottom:40px!important;}}
@media only screen and (max-width:800px) {.fusion-title.fusion-title-5{margin-top:40px!important;margin-bottom:40px!important;}}
@media only screen and (max-width:800px) {.fusion-title.fusion-title-6{margin-top:40px!important;margin-bottom:40px!important;}}

“When I Stopped Prospecting People, My Business Started Growing!”
I can’t tell you how relieved and at peace I felt, when I once again, was able to go out with my friends, visiting a family member’s home, or be in a public place without having to think about prospecting anyone.
Just enjoying being normal again was incredible after two years of being taught by my upline that “everyone was a prospect” and approaching every conversation with a hidden agenda; I was free!
