So this morning we're having a snow day and I looked outside my window to see my neighbor's dog thoroughly enjoying zooming back and forth through the snow with this MASSIVE stick he found.

I opened my window (eight feet off the ground) to say hi and he excitedly ran towards me and then past the building, looking around the corner, circling back, running around, whining, as I called for him until he finally saw me up in the window.

Then he started jumping up and down trying to show me his stick and it was the most adorable thing I ever saw so I just had to share.

And his stick is very awesome. I made sure to tell him he found a very awesome stick.

Women played a significant role in the domestication of dogs, and their close relationships with the animals were key to the process. Wolves are less aggressive and weary of women due to their smaller size and their voice unlike men who hunt them.

Dogs accompanied women while they gathered food and plants.

Women were primarily responsible for rearing and training dogs for guarding, attacking and finding. Women gave dogs names and treated them as family. Researchers from Washington State University analyzed data from 144 traditional societies and found that women were key to domesticating dogs.

The role of women in the domestication of dogs is often understated, but without their close relationships with these animals, it's unlikely that they would have been domesticated. While men were out hunting, women were able to form bonds with these animals that increased the strength of the domestication process.

i think a lot about how in Blood of Olympus, Nico was supposed to be sentenced to death as a traitor by the Romans alongside Reyna, and how he was just 100% ready to throw down with Michael Kahale (who is like, twice his height and weight) if Reyna gave him the word. By the end of their quest Nico was really just ready to start biting people if Reyna asked him to and gave absolutely zero shits about potentially dying.
