Hey now, Let her cook!
#dungeon meshi#chilchuck tims#senshi#laios touden#marcille donato#izutsumi#oyasumi punpun#<- In case you are wondering what the source for the little bird guy is.#Yeah that's right. I'm back to my extremely obscure crossover BS.#Punpun is one of those series that falls under the category of 'Good! but I cannot responsibly recommend this to anyone."#If Dungeon Meshi is like a friend asking you to go on a quick errand and you accidently go on a life changing roadtrip -#Punpun is your friend asking to go on a quick errand and they pull up to the vet and tell you your dog is being put down.#Then they explode into sludge. Melting your car. You hitchhike back but the person who picked you up is an axe murderer.#I could not finish it. My friends who did say it was good. But agree it was for the best I did not finish it.#Hey speaking of tone twists...We are one episode away from one of my favourite chapters being animated!#WHO'S READY FOR THE SENSHI BACKSTORY! WHO IS READY TO CRY!#ME! I AM! I spooked my flatmate with how energetic I was this morning. I'm vibrating with energy I was not designed to contain.#I should talk about today's episode here: It was very good. I love how they animated the familiars.#And!!! Anime only people now are in the loop on the Chilchuck lore. Part 1 of many. He still contains multitudes.#They all do to be honest! If this episode told us anything it was that we still don't know these characters as well as we think!#See you guys next week. I'll be inconsolable.

This Thanksgiving…
- Save your pet the stomachache…
- Save your vet the headache…
- Save yourself the heartache…
Sharing isn’t caring!!! Fatty Thanksgiving foods lead to pancreatitis, which can be life-threatening. I know they’re cute when they beg, but it’s for their own good.

"Unhand me!" The stabby robin shouted just before Danny deposited the colorful vigilante onto the floor of his parents' lab.
The bird boy was back on his feet in an instant and had he weapon drawn, glaring at Danny as if he were the source of all his life's problems. "Whoa, whoa, hold on a minute." Danny spoke up, hands raised in mock surrender, "I don't wanna fight!"
"Then why did you kidnap me?" Robin tracked the boys hand as it moved to rub the back of the teens' neck.
"Well, ya see -" the teen said nervously, "I saw how nice you were to that ghost bunny, and you hid it from Batman."
Robin tensed, "Are you blackmailing me?"
"What?! No! I wanted to ask for help! Somethings wrong with my dog!"

How Can I Let My Dog Know That the Vet Hospital is OK?
Let’s talk about hospitals for a moment.  Most of us were born in hospitals.  The moment we were born, we were thrown into a completely foreign and scary environment.  On top of that, we were suddenly hit on the butt and started to cry.
From that “wonderful, introductory experience”, things didn’t improve.  As kids, we were taken from playing with our friends to a strange building that smelled funny and had to wait in a room filled with other kids that looked “just as happy as us” to be there.  No matter how much everyone there tried to tell us otherwise, someone always stuck us with a needle before we got to leave, normally crying again.
As we get older, things always get “better”. Instead of our mother taking us to normally only one doctor, we now “have to make the appointments ourselves” and there is a whole list of different doctors in hospitals we must see.  Without going into detail, that little needle prick we got as kids looks pretty good compared to many of the things we experience with our doctors and hospitals as adults.
Before you go nuts on me, I am completely aware that doctors and hospitals are for my own good and a critical part of a healthy and long life. But, when it comes to our dogs; I am pretty sure they don’t understand that at all.
We need to “explain to our dogs” that Vet Hospitals are good and safe places.  We have a great dog training article that explains how. Please read our dog training blog titled “How Can I Let My Dog Know That the Vet Hospital is OK”.

can people please tell all the elderly people in their lives that they DO NOT NEED to adopt or purchase a large breed dog. especially a large breed dog that they make no effort to train, then openly admit they have no control over the dog, then said dog attacks another dog, another person, or injures the owner in an incredibly damaging way.
can someone please relay this mesaage to the elderly??? if you are 75+ and frail, you DO NOT NEED to get a dog that can effortlessly pull you over onto the ground just by walking too fast. small breeds exist and are lovely. get one of those, or get a cat.

So I attempted to groom Rin myself, and uh, the results were less than stellar, shall we say. I have transformed her from a cute ball of dryer lint into a scrungly little rat dog. My mom gasped, "Where are her curls?!"

I have done her a grave injustice 😅

when i was around 9 my family cat died and i was understandably upset about it. so a few days later in my elementary catholic class (italian thing. ask mussolini about it and then hang him again) i drew a picture of "what i thought heaven looked like". and what heaven looked like to me was god standing around with an arm around jesus' shoulders being like "and THEN my wonderful son did this..." with jesus looking visibly embarrassed, because that's how a good dad is supposed to act, while all the angels and souls of the departed sat at their feet looking impressed in their wings and haloes. various pets being among them, such as my cat, my grandpa's old dog etc, also behaloed and winged. except when i went to show my drawing to the teacher explaining my artistic thought process, she looked at it and went "nice. but animals don't go to heaven because they don't have souls like us."
i wish. oh how i wish every day of my life that i'd been the hypersensitive, quick-to-tears kid that would've undoubtedly triggered a whole class religious schism when my classmates found out why i was screaming and sobbing my eyes out. but alas, i just discarded her theological theory altogether. what a silly woman she was. she must've never had pets, otherwise she'd clearly know they DO have a soul. boy, was she gonna get a surprise when she got to heaven.
now that i think back on it, you have to laugh at the heartless, eye-opening cruelty of looking a grieving child in the eye and saying "sorry kid, little mina's not getting into heaven." what a succinct summary of catholicism. anyway, I'm not christian anymore.

Learning anything about marine mammal training will make you re-evaluate so much of your relationship with your own pets. There is so much force involved in the way we handle domestic animals. Most of it isn’t even intentional, it just stems from impatience. I’m guilty of it myself!
But with the exception of certain veterinary settings where the animal’s health is the immediate priority, why is it so important to us that animals do exactly what we want exactly when we want it? Why do we have to invent all these tools and contraptions to force them to behave?
When a whale swam away from a session, that was that. The trainer just waited for them to decide to come back. If they flat out refused to participate in behaviors, they still got their allotment of fish. Nothing bad happened. Not even when 20-30 people were assembled for a procedure, and the whale chose not to enter the medical pool. No big deal. Their choice and comfort were prioritized over human convenience.
It’s almost shocking to return to domestic animal medicine afterwards and watch owners use shock collars and chokers and whips to control their animals. It’s no wonder that positive reinforcement was pioneered by marine mammal trainers. When you literally can’t force an animal to do what you want, it changes your entire perspective.
I want to see that mindset extended to our domestic animals.

Siouxsie has thrown up every day for like at least 2 years and it doesn't matter what she's fed.
The amount of vets who want to look into this at all is 0 because she's still bright eyed and bushy tailed, eating normally, and has normal elimination habits.
Can't even get an appointment for anybody to examine her. No vet aware of this issue has so much as laid eyes on her. She just throws up every day and goes on with her life.
She was quite literally noted as having borderline kidney issues 5 or 6 years ago but it's fine.
