OMG Y'ALL I FORGOT TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE DOG I SAW TODAY.

I wish I'd gotten video. It was incredible.

So. I was on my way to the store, right? And I see this brown and white pit bull mix - a little bigger than Rumba - and she's got ... I can only describe it as a "heavy quarterstaff." This branch was ... probably about 4 feet long, and as big around as my arm. It was so heavy that she had to turn her head to the side and drag it on the ground.

But, let me tell you, BY G-D, SHE WAS BRINGING IT HOME WITH HER. I've never seen a dog so determined.

And her person kept like... apologizing to everyone bc she literally held up traffic bc it took her so long to cross the street, and we're all losing our shit laughing, bc her tail is wagging so hard it's hitting her sides and she is twisted around like a croissant, just... dragging this stick that she's SO PROUD OF. It was incredible. I have never been so completely and uncomplicatedly happy in my life as that dog was in that moment.

But the best part? The other dog, a longhaired mini Aussie shepherd, was SO COMPLETELY OVER this stick which was slowing down the pace of walkies.

It was beautiful.
