Imagine doing a favourites list and then you end up creating an entire goddamn pantheon in the process.
Yeah that's me. Add that to the list of things me speaking my mind has changed the reality of Danganronpa askblogs for. And this has got me thinking about RA's position since well she was the janitor but now Freeze is doing so and I don't want to step on their toes.
Given how I've given her a pocket dimension of sorts to be in (Let's face it while the Voidship is within the interdimensional void, its by all accounts a pocket dimension) I've decided to make it so that Review Anon is a drifter that visits each dimension where she's considered dead in. Not many characters can see her but she's there, always watching. She is basically the Watcher from the MCU. Though a tad more meddling then he is.
She's like this in DTFA, Survivor and A New Future. However her sightings are less in Survivor due to Steve being a thing and I don't want overstep him as he has seniorship. The only one she's unironically not allowed in is A Student Out of Time, because her original identity is alive and well there. Thus she becomes a normal Anon there. As Review Anon's death is due to the Tragedy, any askblog where the Tragedy hasn't occurred she is alive in.
So yeah you get some Review Anon lore.
//Okay, so I was chatting on Discord and we were talking about Review Anon ranking best parents so far on me and Mod Bubbles blogs which they made a comment about Ui giving RA some tips and then Honey spoke of how the after life theater works;
//Also I can't show images because image limit but we wrote this. ^^;
'Poi-Rozen — Today at 8:49 PM Yeah, while you can't hurt the shitty people there; you get to show them shitty films. xD
Captain Obvious — Today at 8:52 PM Yep xD
honeybeegirl94 — Today at 8:54 PM I’m in charge of the connection between the afterlife and the living. Mod Survivor’s in charge of punishing the sinners (Junko, Mukuro and Utsuro). Mod Freeze is the janitor. Mod Carol and Mod Aliza are in charge of the tickets. [8:55 PM] Send them that.'
//And we all agree, I'm the driver and I get to decide if they get reborn or get send to the ether. xD

You know, while I still love the Danganronpa series, I actually kind of prefer how some of the characters act and are treated in this story compared to the games. Some of the characters in the games I feel like weren’t…written in the best ways sometimes.
//Yeah, I get you there ^^;
//Part of the reason I wanted to include the Another games in particular is because of how poorly handled their characters and storylines were.
//But even sticking strictly to canon, one of the biggest problems with DR- and a lot of stories in general- is that they often feel the need to resort to flanderization to make characters stand out. Some characters are relegated to being jokes, especially when they have no greater story purpose.
//Part of a bit in my Fanganronpa April Fool's bit was how talents and gimmicks often take the place of actual characterization, and V3 is honestly a good example of just that. Most of the cast there feel like gimmick characters, where bits with them get more focus than their actual personalities and goals, and those end up being what's most remembered about them.
//Miu is a loud obnoxious pervert, Tenko is an overly-emotional misandrist, Kiibo is a robot who gets mad when people make assumptions about him for being a robot, Gonta is a discount Tarzan, etc. Tsumugi's bit is that she barely has any personality at all and that's why people consider her an inferior villain.
//And the thing that really annoys me is when there is clearly a lot you can work with among these characters and others. They have interesting elements to them and yet writers often don't give them their dues. A lot of the time, it feels like the characters don't matter to the story as a whole, especially after they're gone.
//I've said it before and I'll say it again that Antebellum is still my favorite fangan. A big part of that is because it actually does focus on character even when doing funny bits. The April Fool's entry is actually more proof of that, where we get to see things from Maiko's POV and how there's more to her than just a morally binary serial killer. The endings in general do a good job showcasing what sort of person she is, internally and how she presents herself to others.
//And even Yui, the character who was created specifically to be a hate sink and whose actions are never shown in a remotely sympathetic light, even SHE is given the spotlight and shown to not be a completely irredeemable monster.
//One of my motivations for creating this blog was because I felt so many characters in the series got done dirty and I really wanted to correct that. I'm glad to see that my efforts have been enjoyed by so many ^^
