hello!!! as you are the resident miante person in mcyt (there might be another one but in my opinion it's you) I have a question: if I wanted to watch mianite how would I go about that/where do I find it? I know it's a youtube thing but I don't know which channel it's actually on and I am. Extremely Curious about it & want to watch it but I have no idea where to do that /genuine question

mianite has four main POVs that remain in VOD and episode form on the creators' channels, they all have a playlist for it and you can find them pretty easily by looking up "[creator name] mianite s1" on youtube.

i recommend starting off with jordan captainsparklez' POV like we did, as he is involved in mostly everything in both s1 and s2 and his episodes are edited down to only really have the important bits. if you decide to watch back through the series later from another perspective, tom syndicate's POV is another good one to watch as he's kind of on the opposite side of everything happening in s1 and it puts a lot of his actions in context that jordan left out of his episodes.

if you don't want to watch through the series in its entirety (which is completely understandable), fern @voidandradiance has made a playlist of the important lore moments in both mianite s1 and s2 that she'd be happy to share :]

also it's really funny to me that we are the resident Mianite Guy to you when we've only been here for like, six months. this series turns ten years old today and there are people in this fandom who have been here since the beginning of it or at least who have been here for way, way longer than we have.

@coolcattime's blog is more of a general purpose one, like ours is, but she carries the f/f ships in the Mianite fandom and is also a great writer! she's written a lot of neat AU ideas and although we haven't talked with her much she definitely lives up to her url- she's one cool cat :]

@cactusprisms is also someone that we see around a lot in the notes of our mianite posts, although we unfortunately havent talked much. also more of a general purpose blog but worth following anyways. shes vibing.

hope what i’m bringing up here is appropriate for this blog. i could try finding any other outlet, internal or outside resources that would help me get through this, but i’m trying not to ruffle any feathers.

so, since last year i’ve been watching something i used to be into when i was younger and participating in its fandom. through rewatching it i found out that i shipped two characters that i always had a noticeable affinity towards, except i realized i like the pairing way more as an adult because of everything i missed between them since i last saw the show. they were paired with different characters by the end and even if it was shown to make more “sense” for them according to the greater fandom, i initially didn’t care because of how much i enjoyed their dynamic thoughout the show’s duration. i felt that it brought out a bunch of discussion to be told whether you saw it the lens of a romatic or platonic relationship. most of what happened in the show’s main timeline could not go on without their involvement, and their individual development arcs kicked off because of the undeniable romantic relationship they tried to pursue at one point.

the big thing about their relationship that apparently makes it a “proship”/comship is the huge age difference between them, and unfortunately that’s unfortunately all what the fandom sees them for. i feel that even when talking about the romantic/sexual aspect of them together and the implications, they have one of the least discussed dynamics i’ve seen of many of the major characters, which doesn’t make sense because they’re both the male and female mcs. it’s always “thank god they didnt get together, i’m sick at the thought of them with each other” even though thats beyond what their relationship was like as the story was drawing to a close. one tweet i saw which was a quote of one which showed a screenshot of the characters in the ship i’m talking about in a canonical platonic showing was something along the lines of “the four people who still ship this must be on suicide watch” which is just an awful thing to think of about anyone.

i do try to feel good about shipping them publicly despite all thats been brought towards me for it. or, at least the nothingness of it. a lot of blogs i’ve interacted with and been interested about following in the past through tag scrolling have blocked me for shipping it. i know this because i always notice that a couple blogs who mainly post about the fandom aren’t on my dash. it’s weird, i don’t even like it as a “standard” underage ship. i’m not saying they’re wrong for keeping themselves safe from things they don’t like, it just glooms me out because i still want to interact with much of the fandom, even if we don’t agree on stuff. i’m too old to be spiralling over these things and activating the sanctification in me i’m trying hard to undo to enjoy my hobbies. why does it even matter to me this much that people block me because they don’t like shit i create or post

with this i feel like anti culture absolutely neuters any kind of intellectual discussion about characters who were in a “problematic” relationship and gone out of it to be part of a standard platonic one. i don’t how unique it is for this ship, but i do imagine that people look into the bad things about it far too much. and hey, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure

No, no, you're very right. The rise of anti culture has definitely led to a decrease in having decent, intellectual conversations about pairings in media and how the relationships between characters shift in ways that display incredibly important aspects of their stories.

But that ties back to the loss of media literacy, I fear.

An explanation for my absence + details on an upcoming Daily Nyarinder event under the cut!!

So kinda personal bt my therapist left her practice unexpectedly so I got off my adhd and depresso meds at the same time as I was moving to another house and I just… really lost steam and haven’t had the energy to work on this project orz

i love cotl with all my heart! But my main fandom is svsss (shout out to kamkamquats on twt, this blog was inspired by their dailybingpup!! 💖) and trying to move all my shit over from twitter to bluesky so it doesn’t feed Elon Musk’s ai has also taken a lot of energy that would have been spent drawing for both cotl and svsss.

Additionally, last time I checked this blog I got some anon asks trying to pull me into fandom wank. The admin of this account is a grown adult with a spouse, a house, community protests to organize/attend, cosplays to make, a startup business to take care of; online fandoms are my comfort place and have been since I was 13, and as such I resolved years ago to stay away from fandom drama and just do what makes me happy. I’m really used to how chill and sweet svsss fandom is, so it was kinda startling to remember that younger fandoms are very drama-prone. I deleted those messages, but it still left a sour taste in my mouth whenever I came back to this blog.

As such, I’ve been on a break. And I probably will continue this hiatus until things settle on bluesky and I can spend more time on my friend’s cotl discord server to get my motivation back.

THAT SAID, I hope to do a little daily nyarinder art challenge for anyone who still follows this blog! Instructions and rules will be posted separately later today, but the idea is thus:

Yami Yugi/Atem (Yu-Gi-Oh! DM/DSOD) | Main Crush - My first anime fictional crush 💜✨🌟 (and still is to this day! And has been recently the cause for all those self ship/self insert reblog posts on my other blog, as embarrassing as it sounds....) This man has inadvertently popped back into my brain all of sudden and slowly got me back to hyper fixating on YGO, (in the year of our lord saviour 2024), specifically for him 💜! There's really a plethora of reasons why I enjoy and appreciate him as a character (ie his personality, aura, kindness, complexity and flaws as a character, his voice - both in English and Japanese 😳 etc. - if anyone's interested maybe I might make a seperate post about it and share my headcanons for him perhaps)

2. Seto Kaiba (Yu-Gi-Oh! DM/DSOD) - Do I really need to say anything? 🤷🏾‍♀️ Same reasons applied as Yami/Atem really! The guy’s iconic, what can I say?

3. Dartz (Yu-Gi-Oh! DM) - Unpopular opinion/hot take but I think he’s pretty underrated as a villain (fuck him for making Yami Yugi cry + manipulating him and everyone else - Affectionately?? Just so my words don’t get twisted out of context, I’m appreciating him as a villain/character here, so don’t get it twisted). Is the story a hit or a miss or is it necessary? Can’t really say for sure, sorry🤷🏾‍♀️.

It’s been a long time I watched YGO, so go easy on me and take it with a grain of salt. All I will say honestly, is that I really like his design, him as a character (I think there’s a lot of missed potential that could’ve been explored more) and his voice (English preferably, Wayne Grayson’s performance as Dartz really did it for me! No hate towards the Japanese VA/Dub, just a preference towards his eng voice)

4. Pantalone (Genshin Impact) - Okay, so here’s the thing with him…If I happen to come across a guy with this much drip, charm and mysterious aura, with glasses to boot than I’m already sold! I haven’t played much Genshin in a long time, so I’m not sure what role he plays into the story. (I’d love to hear your thoughts and theories, though no spoilers please! 😊)

I’ve only seen snippets of clips and fanart of him and the fatui from here and there, but I hope he’s playable in the near future.

If Arlecchino (Father - MORE LIKE DADD-), can become playable in the future, then so can he (among other fatui members, aside from Childe).

5. Boothill (Honkai Star Rail) - I don't know about you guys, but ever since he's been leaked (and now recently added to the game have seen his character trailer - the way he just sauves and moonwalked like the smooth criminal he is did it for me!) I just adore him - Design, personality, voice everything! I love me a spunky, sassy rootin tootin space ranger cowboy that loves to cause havoc and chaos! (and serves cun-) I just think he’s neat! (Also is it just me or does his theme song in the character trailer sounded something you would hear in a freakin Ford Truck Commercial, his theme screams pure “America. Freedom, F yeah!” Vibes. PLEASE TELL ME I’M NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT THINKS THIS?! I JUST FIND IT FUNNY TO ME)

6. Miguel O'Hara (Across The Spiderverse) - Haven’t seen the movie yet (dw I plan to watch it but PLEASE NO SPOILERS!) but this man is everywhere and I don’t blame you! I’ve seen fanart/edits of him (especially ones whenever they show his fangs 😳👀) and honestly it’s on me because I been rewatching ColeyDoesThings video on him and it immediately got me back to start watching the spider verse movies (it’s on my to do list) So thanks Coley! (You should go check out her YouTube videos on everything fandom related, it’s great!)

(ie. kaeya x your character in the main verse / your character x another character or kaeya x another character in a modern verse/au, etc.) i'm also actually fine with your character having multiple other relationships in the same verse. those can be separate, i really don't mind. only time i mind is if they're all acknowledged at once in that same verse without proper communication, as my muses will see that as cheating, if any of that makes sense.

Do you know any good Hades devotee blogs? I'm Catholic myself but I've been working with Hades lately because apparently he's been around my entire life and I didn't know until he pulled me into the underworld during a meditation and I got a reading from thearchitectofhades on instagram. Explains a lot in my life and though I don't think I plan on straight up worshipping him (Yahweh is my main squeeze, obviously) I'm getting very comfortable around Hades and I greatly enjoy my lord's presence. I would like to see more devotee stuff so I can learn about him more. I would look myself but I feel more comfortable asking someone I trust knows their stuff about the Greek gods!

The only Hades blog I actually know of is probably @ofpomegranateandskulls , but they don't post exclusively about him. As sad as it is to say, I don't know of many Hades worship centered blogs. I have experience with Hades and consider myself a worshipper, but I haven't interacted with him in quite some time now.

Even looking up blogs by searching "Hades deity" pulls up some odd results, honestly. I'm seeing a lot of witchcraft focused blogs when I look there. I'm not sure if that's what you're interested in, though.

𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐆 ⚙          i love shipping very much, but it is not a priority by any means. i love making connections overall and i do not plan to make romantic (or sexual) connections within a single interaction. i want our characters to build a relationship from the ground up, even if there are pre-established connections in canon. if our characters do manage to make a meaningful connection, then we can communicate about them going further! speaking of shipping, i am completely okay with our characters having a polyamorous relationship (not harem) or having other relationships in different verses. (ie. wriothesley x your character in the main verse / your character x another character or wriothesley x another character in a modern verse/au, etc.) i'm also actually fine with your character having multiple other relationships in the same verse. those can be separate, i really don't mind. only time i mind is if they're all acknowledged at once in that same verse without proper communication, as wriothesley will see that as cheating, if any of that makes sense. also, i will not write ships with lyney, lynette, or freminet with my wriothesley. it makes me severely uncomfortable as the three of them are children to me.

i. the basics.

interaction.   this blog is private and selective. due to this not being my only blog, activity will be low. please bear with me and don’t rush me for replies. mutuals are free to tag me in things, come to me for plotting, etc. don’t god-mod, power play, etc. because it’s a pet peeve and will make me instantly unfollow. i don't share my discord out much anymore and typically plot over tumblr ims but long-time mutuals are free to ask for it.

accessibility.   i like aesthetics as much as anyone but making your themes and replies accessible ( easy to read and understand ) is important to me. i won’t follow blogs that aren’t anymore.

mains.   as always, chemistry ( both ic and ooc ) matters; this applies to platonic relationships just as much as it does with romantic ships. please do not try to force a dynamic on me ( ex. akari being your muse’s mother/mother-like figure ) without discussing it with me first - especially if i don't know you. when it comes to shipping, i prefer to single-ship per character ( ex. if i’m shipping with one character, i will not ship with a duplicate of said character ). i don’t generally practice exclusivity but i could be possibly open to it once we’ve interacted long enough both ic and ooc.

ii. the portrayal.

sailor cosmos is a reincarnation of usagi.   i don’t consider this a theory anymore and i write this as such on my blog. when reading between the lines in the manga, sailor cosmos’ dialogue in le mouvement final, etc. everything spells out who cosmos is to me. essentially, usagi is to cosmos / akari what serenity is to usagi.

on the 90s anime.   i haven’t watched all of the 90s anime and probably never will. with that said, i generally prefer how everyone who isn’t usagi, mamoru, and chibiusa are written and handled there compared to the manga. while i am a ‘manga-based’ blog for obvious reasons, i am completely fine with interacting with anime-based portrayals if they’re at least willing to meet me half-way.

on chibi chibi.   i ignore the 90s anime version of the character and follow the manga for my blog canon: she’s simply a means to an end for cosmos; a disguise to get closer to usagi. nothing more, nothing less.

my main verse is during cosmos’ timeline.    i’m no longer interested in the ‘who are you?’ type threads with cosmos. to be blunt, she really has no need or desire to talk to anyone from the ‘canon’ timeline ( ex. the timeline where CT still happens ) nor is it realistic for her to frequently return there the events of stars - chibiusa and usagi herself being the possible exceptions. there is a lot of untapped writing potential surrounding the rebirth of star seeds throughout the galaxy after the chaos war finally ends and encourage others to explore it.

First, after an aggressive war on Gaza City and its revival, we were displaced from our 3-storey house in which I and my family of 3 members live.

My father's family consists of 8 members

My grandfather, may God have mercy on him, was martyred by occupation aircraft on 12/14/2023.

The one who was martyred while he was leaving the house to check on our house next to him, which could not be reached due to a brutal enemy who does not differentiate between anyone in death, went out to check on our house, which we were not in because of my displacement to Rafah, me, my father, and our families due to the intensity of the fighting in Khan Yunis, and after that A few days ago, our store in which my father and brothers work was bombed by occupation aircraft. He was working to gather his strength from it and meet the needs of our house, which no longer exists due to the bombing. We ask you to help and contribute, even if just a little, by donating to us so that we can compensate for a little of what we lost.

An action packed ending to the first chapter. Yahoo!

As many of you are well aware, I am now home in San Francisco with my family for the holidays!! I'm so happy to be with them again and still processing the 6 months that somehow felt like several years passed in the blink of an eye for me, and if that doesn't make sense to you, try to imagine the state of my brain right now.

The month of December, though the main theme felt like goodbye😢 , had so much good work of the Lord in church, work, friends, and my cats. It left me feeling in awe and so thankful for this opportunity to travel to Cambodia, meet some amazing people, and take part in the Lord's work being done in this country.

Here is the Groundwater Practicum I helped organize and attend! We had WASH non-profit organizations present, including Samaritan's Purse and ClearCambodia, as well as groundwater experts from the US and New Zealand. The event was designed to have the experts speak, equipping local organizations to more ably pursue effective, sustainable, and even cost-reducing practices with providing drinking water and groundwater wells to communities in Cambodia. I enjoyed learning about groundwater and so much information was shared at this smashingly successful 4-day event!

The weekend before the Groundwater Practicum, I ran the Ankor Wat half-marathon, a loop that goes around a huge temple near the tourist city of Siem Reap. Here is one of the blurry photos I took during the race as I struggled to avoid veering off the road and crashing into the bushes. Overall, the race went well as I finished in less than 2 hours- and Siem Reap is a beautiful city with yummy food that I highly recommend for anyone visiting southeast Asia!!

Out of all the things I did in my visit here, including working on engineering projects, going to the gym, and even getting bit by mosquitoes, the hardest thing for me was saying goodbye to good friends. Brendan (my fellow intern) and I had touching sendoff parties at Every Nation Church, EMI office, and even at home in a cookie decorating party with our friends. I am already missing the meaningful relationships that were forged in my short time here. I am so thankful for the opportunity to have met such amazing people and pray constantly that I will be able to return!

At our work retreat, people spoke kind words of encouragement and appreciation, and prayed over Brendan and I as we prepared to come back to the US. So thankful for all of the lessons learned, the culture we were able to experience, and the people we met along the way.

Thank you for following my blog! It was so hard to write these because they just don't do my whole experience justice. But at the end of the day, I just wrote what I could and hopefully it helps you see that God does deserve all of the glory we could possibly give, and then some. Thank you for your prayers, and thank you for supporting me in however way you have chosen to.

Speaking of support, I have one more prayer requests if you would be willing to pray:

that the Lord would guide my time here in the US, as I begin to understand how I have changed and grown as a result of this trip, and that I would follow His call to do His will in my career (maybe even return to Cambodia soon!) while being a blessing to my friends and family.

Nah. firstly I’m non-binary and more masculine leaning so that already disqualifies the lesbian part bc I really can’t relate to that at all. Secondly, im never gonna get any sexy times any time bc I don’t want to do guys or girls for fear-related reasons and am going to spend the rest of my life avoiding it. So that’s out of the question, but i do like guys and gals.

But also I’m looking on urban dictionary rn and it’s saying being a gold star lesbian is a lifestyle that involves demeaning lesbians who were unsure of their sexuality and ended up with men at some point or to be a person whos lesbian and shames bi girls for being attracted to guys and girls.

 and like buddy. if thats what you are about please go screw off bc in this house we respect women who are confused and trying to find themselves, identified as bi at some point or still do, or for any reason or another ended up with a dude.
