EVEN MORE HERMIT INCORRECT QUOTES
ZombieCleo: You are an absolute fucking dork. Bdubs, singing: Yeah, but I'm your dork! ZombieCleo: *sighs* Yeah, you're my dork.
Bdubs, answering the phone: Hello? Etho: It’s Etho. Bdoubs: What did they do this time? Etho: No, it’s me, Etho. It’s actually me. Bdubs: What did you do this time?
PearlescentMoon: Say no to drugs. Xisuma: Say yes to drugs. GeminiTay: It doesn't matter if you say yes or no to drugs. If you're talking to drugs.. then you're on drugs.
MumboJumbo: Hey, if you type in your password, it'll show in stars. MumboJumbo: ********* see! GeminiTay: hunter2 GeminiTay: Doesn't look like stars to me. MumboJumbo: GeminiTay: ******* MumboJumbo: That's what I see. GeminiTay: Oh, really? MumboJumbo: Absolutely. GeminiTay: You can go hunter2 my hunter2-ing hunter2. GeminiTay: Haha, does that look funny to you? MumboJumbo: Lol, yes. See when YOU type hunter2, it shows it to us as ******* GeminiTay: That's cool. I didn't know this site did that. MumboJumbo: Yup. No matter how many times you type hunter2, it will show to us as ******* GeminiTay: Awesome. GeminiTay: Wait, how do you know my password? MumboJumbo: Er, I just copy pasted YOUR ******'s and it appears to YOU as hunter2 cause it's your password. GeminiTay: Oh, ok
Grian: Bottling up negative emotions is bad for your health, so you shouldn't do it. Docm77: I know, that's why I bottle up all my emotions, both positive and negative, so it cancels out. Grian: Th-that's not how that works-
Grian: Wanna get out of here and grab a bite to eat? Scar: I don’t usually eat with losers. Grian: Neither do I but I asked you, didn’t I?

2 in 1 because im gonna forget to give an extra ask 💔
dsmp; an awesamdude AP/BaH, themed off of greenery, creepers, redstone, building, and themes similar.
hermitcraft; a docm77 (preferably s9) AP/BaH, themed off of redstone, rams (the animal), creepers (again), caves, greenery again, and other themes similar!
We+ had so much fun with this one!! We+ LOVE Hermitcraft and don't get nearly enough requests for it! I+ hope you like them! I+ made them both friends, but there's easy implication to make them partners / family.
> Name(s): Sam, Red, Warden,
> Pronoun(s): he/tnt/it/they/creep
> Age: Adult, Early 20s-30s
> Gender: masculine, tntgender, creepergender, greengenders
> Sexuality: masc attracted, but just queer in general, is open to sort of anything, polyamorous
> Role: gatekeeper/protector
> Source: Dsmp
> Faceclaims:

> Sign-offs: 💚, 🟢, 🔱, 🔴
> Song theme:
> Front triggers(pos/neg/neu):
+ the body feeling in danger, the body’s triggers, the prison, redstone, being outside
/ his job, when things feel out of order, when there’s an alter not supposed to front in front
- Tommy being in danger, source attached Dreams, reminders of his failures and poor decisions in source
> Likes/dislikes:
+ Redstone & Minecraft, building, things running smoothly,
- feeling bored, feeling like things are stagnant, not being able to do his job
> Personality: Sam is very serious, his job is deeply important to him, and he wants it to go smoothly. Sometimes he comes across as no fun, but it’s more so that he cares a lot about everything going right. When things go smoothly, he’s fun to be around, and incredibly kind.
> Ways they do their role: Sam is closely aligned with his warden hood, he cares a lot about protecting his friends and his family, and in many ways, his system. That means policing who comes in and out of front and watching the way they behave.
> Inner world occupation or behavior: May be a bit obsessive over safety and protection, double checking both the doors of outward places (your bedroom doors and windows) and the front room as well.
> Possible outerworld behavior: Sam may be protective and somewhat distant, initially suspicious of new people or friends, but eventually grows fond of them, and can become protective even of them.
------
> Name(s): Doc, Docm, Father, Caprine, Angora
> Pronoun(s): he/she/they/baa/horn/headbutt/tnt/explo/gun/powder
> Age: 30-40s
> Gender: genderless thing
> Sexuality: pansexual nightmare
> Role: work alter & moodbooster
> Source: Hermitcraft (S9 specific)
> Faceclaims:

> Sign-offs: 🔴, ⛏️, 💚, 🐐
> Song theme:
> Front triggers(pos/neg/neu):
+ redstone and building, someone overworking themselves, someone needing a break or to be uplifted
/ His job (your place of work, your school, etc), source and sourcemates
- source attached Buttercups (Grian, Scar, Mumbo), the body being disrespected or people he cares about being disrespected
> Likes/dislikes:
+ Building, Redstone, playing minecraft in general, making people laugh, butterflies (and other bugs), goats and lambs
- being disrespected, having his rules ignored, needless destruction
> Personality: Doc makes Sam relax, that’s his number one priority. He works, he helps hold down jobs, do schooling and take care of the body in general, but he’s much more interested in making Sam take a break every now and again. She’s fun, and likes to be playful and relaxed. But if anyone gets in her way or tries to stop them from doing what they think is right, they will handle it.
> Ways they do their role: Primarily, Doc is a really good work alter, getting tasks done efficiently and quickly. Doc is also very good at being funny, making tnt a good mood booster because they’re able to lighten the mood just by being a bit funny.
> Inner world occupation or behavior: Doc may enjoy building and designing, putting together new buildings, or even working with magic and redstone. He may spend his downtime drawing up blueprints for others, or even assisting in the building.
> Possible outerworld behavior: May be very friendly and jokey, likes meeting new people, likes talking to them. He’s fun to be around, fun to work with and talk to. Doc likes to keep things spick and span and may have a really good grasp on overcoming procrastination.

Im not in the Hermitcraft fandom so I dont know much of Iskall situation so I did a quick look though the tags on tumblr and…
Is it bad that Im upset that the Hermitcraft fandom seems to be handling this situation so much better than the DSMP fandom handles theirs?
I mean theyre talking about respecting the other creators and not harassing them, having seemlying mature discussions and conversations, and I havent seen anything overwhelming negative (ex: death threats (but I only did a quick look though)) and Im just sitting here thinking ‘Why couldnt the DSMP fandom have been like this?’
Idk, am I bad for thinking like this?
you’re not bad at all. it’s a common sentiment throughout our fandom today.
we’ve always been mature, mostly due to the wider audience that’s mostly older people, like my 50 year old mother. the worst drama to my knowledge was a german on the server (docm77 my beloved) having to tell people to not make nazi jokes.
it’s a very wholesome and chill fandom. it was unproblematic until yesterday. and god does it sting.
it’s ok to feel betrayed and hurt by his actions. i know you’re not in the fandom so it’s not as big a deal to you as it is to me, but i just wanted to let people know that :)

I’ve never read homestuck but I have heard of classpects which I find fascinating
would you mind sharing what you think the mcyt characters would be if they had classpects ?
Jokes about homestuck aside, I actually really do like the classpects. They represent both a characters core ethos as well as their place in the meta narrative. I'm rusty but I'll see if I can't brainstorm a few ideas...
The basic understanding of classpects breaks down into 2 parts, class and aspect. The aspect is a concept. The class is the modifier of how the user relates to that concept.
That being said, here's some quick ideas! (Also I'm referencing the definitions from these two pages! ^-^ )
Bdubs - Maid of Light: -Maid: Prepares their others in their session through their aspect/ serve their aspect -Light: Knowledge, fortune, and light itself. He turns the night to day! A true diligent server sleeper, dutifully bringing the daytime to all.
Jimmy - Bard of Doom: -Bard: Invite destruction through their aspect or they invite the destruction of their aspect -Doom: Bad ends and misfortune. It is not a hot take to assign Jimmy a doom class. We all know this.
Pixlriffs - Seer of Time: -Seer: Knows/sees or understands their aspect. -Time: Inevitably, rhythm, death. A class for a man of history and respecting the dead.
Scar - Thief of Heart: -Thief: Steals their aspect from others for use it for their own benefit. -Heart: Soul, impulse, positive emotion. My best idea of a class for the sweet talking swindler.
DocM77 - Mage or Rage: -Mage: Are aware of their aspect and its influence. -Rage: Negative emotion, fear. Not 100% on this one, but I wanted to show Doc's awareness of other's fear or him, and how he uses that to his advantage.
Rendog: Witch of Blood: -Witch: Takes control of their aspect and control it with mastery. -Blood: Ties, relations, leadership You could go Knight of Blood for a more Red King-centric take, but I like this to represent Ren's many personas.
Skizz: Sylph of Heart: -Sylph: Ones who heal through their aspect/ones who heal their aspect. -Heart: Soul, impulse, positive emotion. Skizzleman is good for the soul -u- a bringer of good vibes and affirmations.
I should probably stop now, but this was fun! Though please don't think of me as the homestuck mcyt person now, I have enough on my plate haha. If you still need your classpect fix I know there's a blog who was doing all the hermitcraft members alongside art, though I can't find them now. If you can, though, send them some love! <3

potentially some context for why some people really hate doc? at least my own perspective on it:
a good amount of us who've been on hermitblr a long time (like, here since 2018-2019) have issues with doc for a lot of reasons. a big incident was him refusing to believe that a friend of his was part of a group that openly harassed people on here for ages. he not only dismissed the piles of evidence but vague tweeted shaming the people who went to him about it several times.
idk if the particular incident is covered here, but at least a lot of the context of what lead up to it can be read about in aroaceacacia's "2019 talk" tag.
also in the past year he's vague tweeted because of me twice instead of just talking to me or others involved directly like an adult which now is hilarious, but oh boy if it'd been just two or three years ago when i still really looked up to him that would have been traumatizing.
i still enjoy his content, and i don't think he's a bad person or anything. but i certainly don't have the respect for him that i used to because of all this and it definitely is a bit annoying to see people act as if he's got no flaws.
- concorp
ah, makes sense! especially if you've had direct interactions with the dude that went poorly. i dont wanna comment too much on stuff i wasnt around for because i'd hate to dredge up stuff that ya'll might be at peace with but im sorry that happened.
honestly hard agree on that last paragraph tho, i dont like when people act like the irl hermits are flawless in general. theyre just people, who can get into fights and say the wrong thing just as much as the rest of us. i know of multiple instances of other hermits saying insensitive bullcrap and uve always gotta remember u shouldnt look up to some guy that plays minecraft as a role model, even if theyre from one of the more wholesome servers skgmek
#long post#asks#discourse#i may not answer much more than this bc my original intention was to joke more about doc as a character than talk about him as a person#but im glad to be informed on stuff i wasnt aware of. more complete picture of the kind of people im watching i guess.#docm77 neg

Team: H35
Writer: Angst ( @angst-for-the-angst-queen )
Artist: Ultra ( @ultravhasart )
Title: The More You Look, the More You Lose
Link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/41540664/chapters/104186472
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warning: Major Character Death
Characters: Grian, Mumbo Jumbo, Taurtis, Xisuma, Scar, Docm77, Hermitcraft Ensemble, Evolution SMP Ensemble, The Watchers
Summary:
Grian’s first few months on the Hermitcraft server were filled with everything he had ever imagined and more. A unique starter base, the beginnings of an imposing mega base, a kind of (not really) successful business or two, new potential friends (aka prank victims)…
What more could he ask for?
Despite all of this, the loose ends of Evo have been looming over him, and Grian decides that the best course of action is to go and wrap up everything still remaining.
He doesn’t return.
In his absence, the Hermits are left scrambling to figure out what happened to their newest member and how on earth they could get him back.
If he even wants to.
[Image ID: Art containing the hermitcraft members Scar, Mumbo, Xisuma, Doc, Grian, and Evo SMP member Taurtis. The piece is split up into six parts, looking a bit like shattered glass, and each contains a character. Most are leaning inward towards Grian, who is at the center of the piece. He is shown upside down, and sleeping peacefully. There are wings around his head in the background. He is wearing a friendship bracelet with a poppy insignia, and Taurtis wears a similar one, except with a small bundle of TNT as the image. Taurtis looks worried as he looks over to grian. Mumbo looks the same. Scar is grinning while he wields vex magic, Doc is holding a trident, and Xisuma is looking down to the messages on his communicator, agitated. The Watcher symbol surrounds grian, made out of the negative space of the piece. End ID]

for the trope grading thing: yes i'll bite grade hermit!tommy
Oh boy here we go. So many issues.
TL;DR, Hermit!Tommy is a solid grade F for me. I see why people like it, but as a Hermit main who's followed the DSMP since August 2020, I find it generally harmful to the Hermitcraft fandom and unfaithful to c!Tommy.
Disclaimer: While I was in the DSMP fandom for around half a year, I have not considered myself part of the fandom since June. I personally have never been a fan of c!Tommy, but I talked to people who are in writing this so hopefully the bias isn't too pronounced. I've been watching Hermitcraft since March 2020, right around the start of season 7. While this will be critical of the Hermit!Tommy trope, I don’t intend it to be negative. If you like it, good for you! Write what you love! These are just the reasons I don't.
For those of you who want my full breakdown of the trope, brave the read more below.
Initially, I was actually really open to the idea of the Hermit!Tommy trope. The first big fics to start this up began around the time of Exile, and as someone who personally really didn't like that arc, I was more than ready for something that wasn't angst-centered. I followed a few fics with this trope for a while, the longest for 2 months-ish before I dropped it and started avoiding it.
Why? Well for one, a lot of these fics seem to come from people who are DSMP mains and only know cursory information about Hermitcraft. Nothing wrong with that, have fun with it, but as someone who is a Hermit main, it rubbed me the wrong way. Hermitcraft would be portrayed as this utopia where everybody got along and had perfect coping techniques and would drop everything to help this random dude who dropped in their server.
Which, um, this would not happen. Hermitcraft is chaotic. They are certainly healthier than the DSMP, but that's a low bar. ZombieCleo held a game where people hunted for each other's heads. The Turf war and Mayor race were whole things. C!Docm77 would not trust a random teenager on his server as far as he could throw him. Above all, Hermitcraft is private. Getting in requires not only getting sponsored by an existing Hermit, but the unanimous consent of every member of the server. Random teenagers don't mix in well, traumatized or not. (Also, they would not tolerate swearing).
Secondly, the characters of the Hermits often are twisted to center almost entirely around Tommy. It got to the point where a friend and I made a parody of the Sexy Lamp Test, the Generic Father Figure Test. If a Hermit can be replaced with any other Generic Father Figure (Phil, Wilbur, Batman, etc), they fail the test. The Hermits would not all simultaneously adopt Tommy for reasons explained above. While I can very much see them worry and provide help where needed, it would not be the whole server and it would not be at the level of parent/child.
For my last point, we'll talk about Tommy. Like I said before, though, I'm biased against Tommy, so I found a friend who rather likes him, and got their opinion, so these are their points below:
1) Infantilization: "When I hit rock bottom, I need support, not someone to smother me or shove me onto a healing arc. A lot of fics treat Tommy's like he's incapable."
2) Stubbornness: "Tommy's so fucking stubborn he refuses to accept help. It results in a lot of fics having a constant cycle of tommy refusing to get healed and fleeing while the hermits try to force it."
3) Fanfic Therapy: "The one hermit tommy story I like was good bc it wasn't forced, he just came around bit by bit. Most fics don't do that."
Anyways, that's my rant grading of Hermit!Tommy. If you like it, I really don't begrudge you of it. I’m sure there are fics out there that are great and might not even fall into my criticisms listed here. At the end of the day, you can choose how you want to characterize the Hermits and Tommy, and for a lot of people, including me at one point, it was/is loved mostly for the angsty, hurt/comfort vibes. Which is valid. It's just... not for me. At all.

I dont want to speculate about Docm77's sexuality but followed him in like 2016-2017 and he pretty frequently posted about going to gay clubs and idk man either hes not straight or really comfortable with himself and that made a lasting impression on me when I was figuring out my sexuality
thats great anon! im glad that you had a positive influence on being comfortable and figuring your sexuality! its important to see people not post about lgbt+ stuff in a negative light and im glad that you followed doc and it helped you figure yourself out!! and i didnt know that too :O, thats rly cool!! kudos to doc
although i do need to tell if this is meant to be for gridoc-esque, this blog is NOT RPF!! [real person fiction]. anything here is not shipping the irl hermits, only their MINECRAFT personas and nothing from real life is influenced or referenced here.

So.... Yeah
I was watching a video made by the YouTuber “Ant venom” about the “Last day in Minecraft” and how the world starts reacting negatively after it reaches an exaggerated amount of time in game, I think someone in the comments said it was close to 14.6 billion years which is pretty crazy.
But then I noticed that I didn’t knew that you could figure out how many in game days had passed so I went to the most recent Hermitcraft video that I could think of that might show the little numbers like the coordinates and stuff (probably has a name but it’s 6:30 and I’m a) too sleepy b) too lazy to search it) which happened to be Docm77 time travel explained bonus video and I saw this

Hermitcraft has been running for apparently 90 years.
Which is crazy but then I wondered how long would that actually be, cuz we all know it hasn’t really been 90 years (or has it?) so I googled how long is a Minecraft day and...

It spits out this number, 20 minutes, it doesn’t sound _That_ crazy
So I guess I’ll try to figure out how long has the server been running (it’s a year duh but shhhhh)
And then my asleep brain fails me cuz in my head the equation should be to multiply the amount of days by 20 ( 32909 x 20) which should give me the amount of minutes that it’s been running by, which is 658180. And then I divide that number by 60 which makes the number into hours which gives me roughly 10970 (it’s 10969.6667 lol) and it doesn’t look like a real number but that’s because that’s just hours not days. So then i tried to divide by 365 (like a fool) , which doesn’t make sense again cuz right now it’s hours so I should divide by 24 to make it days which roughly gives me 457 which now seems like a real number and very reasonable so it’s been running for like a year and a little more. More exactly a year and 92 days...
....
.......
............
But wait wasn’t the aniversary like a few weaks ago?
... I’m confused I’ll go to sleep. Anyways this was my ted talk and thanks for reading I guess
#hermitcraft#rant#textpost#shitpost#i feel sick and so what do i decide to do?#math of course#cuz that’ll make me feel better#i think i get now why people write in tags#it’s kinda funny#anyways i’ll try to catch some Zs#that’s such a weird way to say it

also, may i add:
inconsistent relationships: hermits will very suddenly switch who they are loyal to and/or fighting with, with no negative effects once they go back to their original friends. for example, bdoubleO and docm77 are freinds, but they began season 7 in a feud. this feud was also resolved ridiculously quickly.
separation of “outside” actions and “inside” actions: hermits will give different explanations for events depending on if they’re using social media or in videos. for example, welsknight took a break from youtube because he burned out, but in his video he gave the explanation that he slept through season 7.
differing morals: hermits may do things in hermitcraft that they may not do on a different server to their friends, for the sake of an interesting plot. for example, keralis has a running gag of invading vintage beef’s base by moving his turtle. on a normal server, this would be considered rude at best, but because hermitcraft is a semi-roleplay it works for his character
Hermitcraft is a half roleplay
Hermitcraft s6 is a good example, like look at the area77 arc. If it wasn't a half roleplay, the time machine thing wouldn't even happen!
Rendog, I mean, have you seen this man's episodes lately?
Beef and Wels' latest episodes as well
The mayoral race, it's all in good fun
grumbot, there's no way that grumbot's responses aren't scripted, the way that he has a specific answer for a specific question rather than a randomized answer coming from one of the 9 slots of a dropper/dispenser is enough proof for me
In conclusion
hermitcraft is a half roleplay, if it wasn't, they'd be making bases, pranks here and there, no story , no flavor
i call it a half roleplay rather than a full one because they aren't necessarily roleplaying as a specific character, rather a persona. They also play survival like normal rather than in a set.
It may not be a full roleplay, but the story is there to drive hermitcraft further
This may seem obvious to some, but I'm just pointing it out in case someone says hermitcraft isn't a roleplay. Technically it isn't, technically it is
:)
