What in the shrimp colours of drama is this? Granted that I've only been transitioning for three years and don't know all the drama but this is ancient history drama. Background first so that I'm not vagueposting, in 1980 an arch-TERF arch-SWERF bastard wrote possibly the most transphobic book in existence and in one note in there credited Adrienne Rich with being 'supportive' of her personally. People put Rich on blast for this at the time, but Rich never publicly commented her thoughts on it. Leslie Feinberg (a trans person, communist, and pro-Palestine activist, mind you) put a similar note in their book Transgender Warriors in 1996, 16 years later. This seems to have led some people to think that Leslie Feinberg somehow palled around with every TERF going. Feinberg counter-protested MichFest for years, in case it needs pointing out, and we have no idea if their relationship to Adrienne Rich was personal or purely professional. Or if Rich simply realised that she had been a shitbag in the intervening years, assuming the endorsement is accurate (which it might not be). bell hooks is an even stranger case because afaik she talked about Paris is Burning (a documentary about Black drag queens) only in an essay in 1992, which she spends most of critiquing white feminism, white supremacist construction of white women as the standard of womanhood and Black women as Other, and white voyeurism of the (especially Black) queer condition, which alone is half the essay (I don't know how that ever could be relevant to a world in which RuPaul exists /s). The only time trans people are mentioned in the whole thing is in the second paragraph where hooks says that drag, and transsexuals and transvestites (which were still commonly used in-community words in '92 and don't convey offensiveness) all are transgressive to gender norms and credits us with challenging gender before any feminist ever did. After a paragraph where she talks about what sound like some pretty trans feelings tbh. She criticises the queens in the film, after a statement of how much she approves of queen in general, for aping white women and treating black women as undesirable. That's really the only time she criticises anyone even tangentially associated with queerness. Background out of the way (holy fuck I hate ancient drama) what in the fresh hell is this shit? Have we come to vagueposted denunciations of shit that happened before anyone under 30 was even born? About bell hooks' earlier essays and a note in one of Feinberg's most important books no less?
If you understand anything about systems theory, then you know that society is structurally transmisogynistic in the same way it is structurally racist, and that transmisogyny simply pervades society. People have to break down their entire world view before they can work out some of the more casual or ingrained aspects of transmisogyny. An occasional fuckup happens, and honestly isn't unexpected, but we can't go looking for transmisogyny in every shadow because a, we'll find it, society is transmisogynistic, of course we'll fucking find something, and b, we're going to push out everyone that isn't a trans woman and turn out no less isolated and curmudgeonly than the fucking TERFs. Their "misogyny! misogyny EVERYWHERE!" attitude turned them into pieces of shit, and I don't want to see the same happen to trans women who are new to this whole 'everything is a little bit transmisogynistic' thing.
Besides, if we're going to start doing denunciations of transmisogyny then I would've started with Julia Serano. Whipping Girl has a bevy of transmedicalist opinions and the idea of 'subconscious sex' misses the mark so badly that it almost wraps around to being a parody of a transmisogynistic position. Plus, the entire work has no idea about the difference between sex and gender in an incredibly frustrating way. I almost stopped calling myself transsexual for half a second to distance myself from the association.
struggling to understand how people can act THIS shocked whenever another TME theorist/activist (especially a cis 70s feminist) gets revealed as having written super transmisogynistic texts and palled around with TERFs. surely this cannot come as this much of a surprise. people are so incredibly reluctant to question the politics of the Established Feminist theorists. maybe someday having been "kink critical" and talking about the Unique Oppression of (cis) Lesbians and repeatedly drawn trans woman and lesbian as two separate categories and having attended fucking michfest will be enough for people to realize that without acting so surprised like come on now.
#wife post#I would say something like all of you need to read x author#but fuck people who say that#and honestly fuck this drama shit#if bell hooks fucked up a few times I'll give her a pass because she was honestly TRYING to support trans women specifically#and this friend of a friend who-might-actually-have-just-sent-a-letter-out-of-the-blue shit is beyond tiring#have actual criticisms or shut the fuck up

i feel like one of the reasons some of y’all are so dumb is because you -don’t really- understand what intersectionality is.
like you see this word and think “oh, i get it! it means if someone’s a part of multiple marginalised groups they get treated badly for each of their marginalised identity” whilst that’s not what it means.
Opression when you have multiple marginalised identities isn’t like a layered cake, it’s more like a soup.
There’s no, like, point system to oppression. It’s not like if you’re a transgender lesbian woman you get opressed for each of those identities separately, you get opressed for -being a transgender lesbian woman-. You get a -soup of bad treatment, not a neatly organised cake-.
same with if you’re a disabled man of colour, you get opressed as a -disabled man of colour-
same with transgender neurodivergent men, they don’t get opressed just on the account of being transgender and neurodivergent. Oppressor doesn’t look at the “man” part and says “oh, that’s actually okay with me, i’m only against your other identities” .
You can’t really -count- how much privilege of being a man a queer guy with dwarfism would have. Because him being a men doesn’t really change the ableism he faces?
Like, this approach is stupid because who’s more opressed, a cis lesbian or a trans man? a white non-binary person or a black cishetero person?
ANSWER: WE CAN’T REALLY TELL.
And i sorta think we really shouldn’t try to?
We shouldn’t treat opression like it’s something we can measure, and we REALLY should stop trying to invent the ways to do so. It’s stupid and extremely unhelpful.

𝐴 = 𝐴𝑓𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑐𝑎𝑟𝑒 (𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 ℎ𝑒𝑦’𝑟𝑒 𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒 𝑎𝑓𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑠𝑒𝑥)
Rhea, or Mami, as you sometimes like to call her, has the same aftercare every time you have sex at home. After ravaging you utter and completely, she asks you how tired you are (which means she can run a shower, a bath or if you just want to be wiped with a warm flannel).
When you want a shower, Mami will light a few candles and make sure the water is running nice and warm for you. She'll hand you a wash cloth and ask if you want company or not.
If you want a bath, it usually means you want a bath with her. So, she puts in your favourite smelling bath bombs, or oils - whatever you prefer, and lights a lot of candles so you don't have to use the bathroom light. She has soft music playing, so you can lean against her.
And if you're too tired, she'll bring over a bowl of warm water and a wash cloth, to wipe you down everywhere. Making sure you feel cleaner.
𝐵 = 𝐵𝑜𝑑𝑦 𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑡 (𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 𝑓𝑎𝑣𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑖𝑡𝑒 𝑏𝑜𝑑𝑦 𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑡 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑎𝑙𝑠𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑛𝑒𝑟’𝑠)
𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟:
Her biceps; she worked really hard on them, but also her stretched ears (she worked really hard on them as well). Oh and her tattoos, honestly, she likes a lot about herself. That's one reason why she's so confident...
𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮:
...Everything. She finds everything about you so sexy. The sound of your voice, the way you walk, your hands, the shampoo you use, the colour of your eyes, the way you look when you're concentrating so hard.
𝐶 = 𝐶𝑢𝑚 (𝐴𝑛𝑦𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝑜 𝑑𝑜 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑐𝑢𝑚)
Mami likes it when you cum in your underwear and she can take them with her. Especially when she's away, she'll bring them out and smell them while she plays with herself.
When you're together, she always loves to taste your cum. It's her favourite flavour.
𝐷 = 𝐷𝑖𝑟𝑡𝑦 𝑆𝑒𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑡 (𝑃𝑟𝑒𝑡𝑡𝑦 𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑓 𝑒𝑥𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑎𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑦, 𝑎 𝑑𝑖𝑟𝑡𝑦 𝑠𝑒𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑡 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟𝑠)
You've both talked about your fantasies, and one of Rhea's is that she wants to fuck in the ring. She has wrestling sex fantasies where you're both in the ring and fighting/fucking.
𝐸 = 𝐸𝑥𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 (𝐻𝑜𝑤 𝑒𝑥𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒𝑑 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦? 𝐷𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤 𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦’𝑟𝑒 𝑑𝑜𝑛𝑔?)
Mami knows what she's doing. Even if she doesn't, she'd never let you know. It's always fake it til you make it, and for you, she always wants to put on her best face - make you feel like you're in safe hands.
For the majority of it, she knows what she's doing. She's experimented with men and women, as well as transgender men and women.
𝐹 = 𝐹𝑎𝑣𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑖𝑡𝑒 𝑃𝑜𝑠𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 (𝑇ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑔𝑜𝑒𝑠 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑠𝑎𝑦𝑖𝑛𝑔.)
She likes cowgirl, seeing you on top of her. Looking into your face, seeing your pretty expressions as you grind against one another. She also likes it so she can grab your ass and pull your hair.
𝐺 = 𝐺𝑜𝑜𝑓𝑦 (𝐴𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑜𝑢𝑠 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑚𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡, 𝑜𝑟 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 ℎ𝑢𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑠, 𝑒𝑡𝑐)
Humorous at first; getting you riled up in mischevious ways - getting you smiling yet horny at the same time. And then when you start to become breathlesss, when you start to wriggle and squirm, then she becomes more and more serious.
𝐻 = 𝐻𝑎𝑖𝑟 (𝐻𝑜𝑤 𝑤𝑒𝑙𝑙 𝑔𝑟𝑜𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑑 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦, 𝑑𝑜𝑒𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑎𝑟𝑝𝑒𝑡 𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑐ℎ 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑟𝑎𝑝𝑒𝑠, 𝑒𝑡𝑐.)
She's completey groomed - Mami waxes everything. It's for compeititons/matches. With the costumes being so short and tight, she has to.
𝐼 = 𝐼𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑎𝑐𝑦 (𝐻𝑜𝑤 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑑𝑢𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑚𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡, 𝑟𝑜𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑐 𝑎𝑠𝑝𝑒𝑐𝑡…)
Rhea is very loving, she's hands-on, wanting to touch you everywhere. Mami feels like she can't get enough of you, like she needs to feel you, every part of you. She loves you, and wants to have her smell all over you, and all of you over her. It's an animalistic feeling.
𝐽 = 𝐽𝑎𝑐𝑘 𝑂𝑓𝑓 (𝑀𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑏𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑐𝑎𝑛𝑜𝑛)
Nearly every night, or every second night. She has a lot of energy, and usually just masturbates for like an hour. It's more to kill time then anything. But she does think of you to jack off. She can't finish unless it's your face in her mind, well - your face and body... doing very naughty things.
𝐾 = 𝐾𝑖𝑛𝑘 (𝑂𝑛𝑒 𝑜𝑟 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑘𝑠)
Mami lovess nipple play; pulling, pinching, sucking and biting. This kink is her own, and loves when she lays down and you just start sucking on her nipples, playing with them.
Rhea also likes wearing a dildo, especially this really girthy, large one. If she had a cock, it's exactly what it would look like. She likes when you suck it, and use it exactly as if it was a real cock.
Others include:
Using a blindfold
Handcuffs
Bondage
Spanking
Spitting
Edging
Dom/Sub
Praise kink
Mutual masturbation
𝐿 = 𝐿𝑜𝑐𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 (𝐹𝑎𝑣𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑖𝑡𝑒 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑐𝑒𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑑𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑜)
At home, in the shower, in the bath, on the floor in the bedroom, on the kitchen bench, on the dining room table, the couch. Anywhere is here favourite.
𝑀 = 𝑀𝑜𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 (𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑛𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚 𝑜𝑛, 𝑔𝑒𝑡𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚 𝑔𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑔)
Hearing you whimper, watching you walk by without any pants on, when you suck on a lollipop, when you just come out of the shower and only have a towel on, when you're sweaty, when you're cleaning, when you've just woken up. There's too many ways to get Rhea going, it just has to be revolved around you - and she's ready to go.
𝑁 = 𝑁𝑂 (𝑆𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑤𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑𝑛’𝑡 𝑑𝑜, 𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑛 𝑜𝑓𝑓𝑠)
Threesomes, or letting anyone else see you as she gets to. Mami is VERY possessive over you. She doesn't like others seeing your body. That might shock you, but Mami doesn't want anyone else. She isn't interested in anyone but you.
𝑂 = 𝑂𝑟𝑎𝑙 (𝑃𝑟𝑒𝑓𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑖𝑛 𝑔𝑖𝑣𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑜𝑟 𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑒𝑖𝑣𝑖𝑛𝑔, 𝑠𝑘𝑖𝑙𝑙, 𝑒𝑡𝑐)
Complete 50/50. Both giving and receiving, because Mami is great at giving head, completely amazing at it. But you also like to please your Mami. You want to make her happy. So, you make sure that she'll never experience anything better.
𝑃 = 𝑃𝑎𝑐𝑒 (𝐴𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑓𝑎𝑡𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ? 𝑆𝑙𝑜𝑤 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑠𝑒𝑛𝑠𝑢𝑎𝑙? 𝑒𝑡𝑐.)
All of the above. Because once again, it depends.
If she's been apart from you, then Mami is fast and rough - trying to get all of you at once, kissing and biting because she hasn't been able to.
But if she's been at home and wants to treat you, then she's sensual and slow. Romantic - sweeping you off your feet. Making you feel treasured.
𝑄 = 𝑄𝑢𝑖𝑐𝑘𝑖𝑒 (𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 𝑜𝑝𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠 𝑜𝑛 𝑞𝑢𝑖𝑐𝑘𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑟𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑛 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑝𝑒𝑟 𝑠𝑒𝑥, ℎ𝑜𝑤 𝑜𝑓𝑡𝑒𝑛, 𝑒𝑡𝑐.)
Rhea prefers proper sex than quickies. She wants both of you to be satisfied. And if you don't have time for proper sex, then she'll wait until she has the time to sweep you off your feet. (side note: she's also very romantic, so that ties into it).
𝑅 = 𝑅𝑖𝑠𝑘 (𝐴𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑔𝑎𝑚𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑒𝑥𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡, 𝑑𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑡𝑎𝑘𝑒 𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑘𝑠, 𝑒𝑡𝑐.)
You actually have a sex bucket list! That's one of the reasons why you guys have such a packed drawer full of sex toys. But you can also find different kinds of lube in there, costumes, etc.
𝑆 = 𝑆𝑡𝑎𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑎 (𝐻𝑜𝑤 𝑎𝑛𝑦 𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑠 𝑐𝑎𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑔𝑜 𝑓𝑜𝑟, ℎ𝑜𝑤 𝑙𝑜𝑛𝑔 𝑑𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑙𝑎𝑠𝑡…)
Depends.
After working out; three times. After a match (that she's won) five times. After a match that she's lost only once (and you're the one to initiate).
If it's her day off, then you could go three times morning, lunch and dinner. She can go for a long time as well. She really likes building up the pressure.
𝑇 = 𝑇𝑜𝑦 (𝐷𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑜𝑤𝑛 𝑡𝑜𝑦𝑠? 𝐷𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑢𝑠𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚? 𝑂𝑛 𝑎 𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑛𝑒𝑟 𝑜𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑣𝑒𝑠?)
YES? OF COURSE SHE DOES! What a stupid question. There's a whole drawer full of different coloured dildos, butt plugs, nipple clamps, hand-cuffs, whips, paddles.
She actually laughed at the 50 Shades of Grey movie.
Mami likes to use a dildo on you, but she really likes nipple clamps on her. Doing that together causes a whirlwind of moans and cries.
𝑈 = 𝑈𝑛𝑓𝑎𝑖𝑟 (ℎ𝑜𝑤 𝑚𝑢𝑐ℎ 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑡𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑒)
She loVES to tease you, but as soon as you tease her, she can't handle it. It's like a short circiut in her brain. She can dish it but can't take it.
Rhea loves making you call her Mami, and moan as loud as you can. It's very gratifying for her.
Lightly touching you; especially in public. For example, pressing against your back and wrapping an arm around your waist. Or quickly kissing your neck.
She'll pick up your hand and kiss your palm and wrist. Her hot breath an overwhelming feeling.
𝑉 = 𝑉𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑚𝑒 (𝐻𝑜𝑤 𝑙𝑜𝑢𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑎𝑟𝑒, 𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑠𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑚𝑎𝑘𝑒)
She doesn't make a lot of loud noises, but Rhea does have these beautiful moans that sound like actual heaven. On the flip side, she also has these animalistic grunts and snarls; both turn you on. How couldn't they? It all depends whether she's pleasuring you or you're giving her pleasure.
𝑊 = 𝑊𝑖𝑙𝑑 𝐶𝑎𝑟𝑑 (𝐺𝑒𝑡 𝑎 𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑜𝑚 ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑐𝑎𝑛𝑜𝑛 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑜𝑓 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑐ℎ𝑜𝑖𝑐𝑒)
Likes to leave black lipstick marks all over your face before events. Commentators have said how they see the marks going down your neck and ... then they had the opponent thrown at the commentators table.
𝑋 = 𝑋-𝑅𝑎𝑦 (𝐿𝑒𝑡’𝑠 𝑠𝑒𝑒 𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡’𝑠 𝑔𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑜𝑛 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑠𝑒 𝑝𝑎𝑛𝑡𝑠, 𝑝𝑖𝑐𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑒 𝑜𝑟 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑑𝑠)
Rhea is very muscled and toned. Big, strong shoulders, thick biceps, big hands and long fingers. She's got a six pack and a firm ass. Rhea looks like an actual fighter.
𝑌 = 𝑌𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔 (𝐻𝑜𝑤 ℎ𝑖𝑔ℎ 𝑖𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 𝑠𝑒𝑥 𝑑𝑟𝑖𝑣𝑒?)
Quite a high sex drive, she gets a thrill from dominating others. But she also loves to be dominated (but somehow all the while it feels like she's still in control some how). But she's into quality over quantity; if she can get out her energy in a productive way during sex, then her drive lessens greatly. But if you've been apart from each other for a long time then she's immediately going to jump you as soon as she sees you.
𝑍 = 𝑍𝑍𝑍 (… ℎ𝑜𝑤 𝑞𝑢𝑖𝑐𝑘𝑙𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑓𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑎𝑠𝑙𝑒𝑒𝑝 𝑎𝑓𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑤𝑎𝑟𝑑𝑠)
She takes a while to drift off - especially if she's had a restful day. But if it's after a match she's out like a light. You'll be in the middle of a conversation and then just start hearing this snoring coming from your left side and you roll your eyes. (It's a canon event)

I think a large problem with how we got to this stage of "man is gender neutral" discourse is that a lot of queer people refuse to engage with feminism. I've been seeing it brought up a lot recently, but it's true. Someone who doesn't see a problem with referring to a trans woman as "dude" probably also doesn't believe in patriarchy to begin with. We need to start doing feminism 101 on tumblr again.
I think this is true and I also think this issue extends to the fact that white liberal queerness is the societally accepted conception of lgbtq issues broadly - the fact that pride flags litter the windowsills of small businesses and banks, that lgbtq merchandise is its own market, that western conceptions of gayness and especially transness are the internationally imposed norm (eg, we are pathological exceptions to cishetero society and should be accepted on the grounds that we are scientifically proven to be legitimate by medical and psychiatric institutions, presented with an awkward flair of “okay so we’re not saying being transgender is a mental illness, but it is caused by a mental illness” + framing of gay people as “they’re just like straight people! they can get married and have children just like you!”). Many many queer people of colour have pointed out how much this predominate western framing of lgbtq identity as a “white person thing” (partially because white queer people are just as racist as non-queer white people, also because of aforementioned western imperialism) puts them at odds with their own communities, giving people in those communities a “rational” reason to oppose lgbtq rights on the grounds of resisting western imperialism. Israel’s pinkwashing is a particularly instructive and stark example of this, positioning lgbtq freedom as being contingent on genociding and destroying Palestine - this doesn’t mean it’s okay to be homophobic obviously, but this sort of imperial imposition of queerness as part of the package of western domination creates the conditions for “rationally opposing” lgbtq rights and equality within colonized communities and ultimately causes intersecting levels of harm for lgbtq people in those communities. You can read decolonizing trans/gender 101 by b binaohan if you want more on the subject, I’ve only read the intro so far but it was very instructive (thank you @/molsno for spreading this link around! - she also has a post with a bunch of transfeminist writings if you want more of that). There's also this video by FD Signifier about Dave Chappelle's transphobia that talks about anti-Blackness in white trans/queer spaces and the intense homophobia and transphobia Black lgbtq people face as a result of this that I found insightful if you want to listen to something instead
ANYWAY, all to say - I think the larger problem is that queerness in western contexts (which tumblr is firmly situated in) is overwhelmingly white and liberal, which means that even if these spaces were to incorporate feminist frameworks in their analysis of oppression, they would be incorporated as liberal feminist frameworks, which are fundamentally transmisogynistic and racist, and fundamentally attached to the imperial project of the west (I recently read this article called Beyond the Coloniality of Gender by Alex Adamson discussing some of the problems with western feminism. they demonstrate this through a case study on western feminist objections to genital cutting in certain African countries + analysis of decolonial trans and intersex feminisms more broadly - if you click "show document" in the upper right hand corner of the page I linked it allows you to access the full article).
I’ve always struggled to articulate the exact issue we're discussing, because at a certain point a lack of knowledge is not to be blamed -the larger issue at hand is that the western political + economic apparatus has incorporated queer assimilation into its project. This does not mean that queer people in the west are safe from homophobia or transphobia (see: current transphobic hysteria across North America and UK in particular), but it does mean that white western queer people have incredible political and rhetorical leverage to dominate these conversations using white liberal analytical frameworks, which can only lead to transmisogynist and white supremacist conclusions about the nature of oppression. I think the only way out of these path-dependent "everyone is oppressed by patriarchy" conversations is a larger decolonial political and social project - part of which necessarily incorporates feminist analysis, but feminist analyses that are decolonial, marxist, and transfeminist in nature, and the only way these frameworks can be comprehensively adopted is through a larger decolonial turn

You tell harry potter fans to dni while consuming and listing art made by a rapist (neil gaiman), the performativism is REAL strong with you. If you're going to posture because you're so scared of looking like an immoral twat, at least don't be a hypocrite.
hi there.
while good omens is still in my pinned post (for now) i currently have the tag blocked and havent been posting about his works since shortly after the allegations came out. i havent removed good omens from my pinned post since neil gailman was not the only person who wrote that book, it is also terry pratchets work, and the story means a great deal to me.
jk rowling is actively using her money to fund the genocide of transgender people. she wants us dead and wont stop until she has achieved that. she has also stated that she considers support for her works as equal to support for her ideology.
neil gaiman is (allegedly) a rapist, yes. and im not denying that. but joanne is on a whole different level. neils actions are immoral, but ultimately they only affect him and those closest to him. jk rowling is fanning the flames of transphobia in this country and around the world, which directly affects me, my safety, and the safety of many of my closest friends.
im not scared of looking like an immoral twat. im human, im going to make mistakes sometimes and if someone calls me out for genuinely problematic behaviour i will change my ways. what i am scared of is losing access to transgender healthcare, which will cause rates of transgender suicides to skyrocket. we have already begun to see this happening. what i am scared of is not being able to use the bathroom in public any more, because no matter which bathroom i use im gnc enough to be beaten to death for daring to piss in a toilet.
what im scared of is intersex women, women of colour, and gnc women being 'transvestigated' and harrassed until they get invasive medical procedures to prove that they are a 'real woman'
harry potter fans are directly contributing to this womans platform and success. the harm that jk rowling is doing is a whole different ball game to whatever neil gaiman gets up to in his spare time.
so. to clarify. have i stopped engaging with neils works? yes. should you stop engaging with harry potter? YES.
now fuck off back to whatever tar pit you crawled out of

I didn’t start identifying as queer so I could be diagnosed with a label. I’m not an animal being classified under a biological term, a taxonomic group which has a criteria so rigid it will only be changed with mind blowing biological evidence, only to be met with criticism and doubt still. These are feelings, language and culture.
Feelings can be straightforward, such as happy, feelings can be charged with layers and layers of experiences and years of history behind them, such as anger, and feelings can be conflicting or not quite fit with any known word. That’s how people make up new words based on old, well known concepts, such as bittersweet. Gender and attraction are feelings.
Language evolves, yes, but not in the same way as animals. It’s not coincidence after coincidence and survival of the fittest. Most of the time, it’s forced, purposeful changes. Take the word ‘okay’ — once upon a time a small group thought the feeling they were trying to communicate wasn’t properly explained with the phrase ‘all correct.’ People began to misspell it ironically as ‘orl korrect’, which was shortened to ‘OK’. A few decades later, ‘okay’ came about, because ‘OK’ wasn’t communicating what people wanted anymore. Language is changed and added to when someone wants something to be known and has no current way of articulating it. Sometimes it’s ridiculed, such as some slang, different dialects, and English variations. Gender and attraction are expressed through language because it’s a feeling.
Culture should be viewed through the lens of an anthropologist — someone who studies humanity. Witness without judgment people using whatever confusing and contradictory labels they like, if any at all, and together we can study those behaviours to discover why they bring such comfort. After all, you can’t properly study the behaviour of people who you’re forcing to act a certain way. Gender is a part of culture because of it’s significant role in language.
Queerness should not be about rigid criteria, exclusion, or checklists. It’s a beautiful, colourful feeling on a spectrum which can only be expressed through words in an attempt to summarise it.
I’d like to draw specific attention to the following:
Identities outside the binary, such as bigender people.
Contrasting identities, such as a woman who experiences gay love for men.
New and uncommon identities, such as xenogenders.
The use of the term ‘non-men’, which chooses to describe lesbian identities in relation to the exclusion of men instead of in relation to a unique, feminine love of women. Being a lesbian is least of all about men, so I don’t see why it should be defined in relation to them.
The arguments against such identities are recycled queerphobia. Men who are also lesbians—and others who don’t neatly fit into binary labels—do not need to pick a side, just like bisexual people don’t. Neopronoun users aren’t cisgender attention seekers trying to be special, just like the non-binary people attacked with those words or the binary transgender people before them. These are just some of the awful things I’ve heard about the less accepted side of our community.
Such people, including myself, may not be practicing queerness in a way well-known by the mainstream, but it should be expected that as more and more identities become common, more are discovered. If you want to take a torch into the darkness to welcome the people you know are hiding there, expect to see an entire world you were blinded to.

Do you guys want a headcanon/ personal c!Grumbo lore dump? no? okay here It is!!
starting off with my silly guy for obvious reasons- Grian. quick warning i pour a ton of myself into him as a hyperfeminine fat trans man💕
Grian - Avian. Big ol' birdy bird. no set species, he does whatever. TRANSGENDERED. Trans Man Grian owns my life, and this plays jnto my Ariana stuff too btw. Grian doesn't want top surgery, but he's been on T pretty much ever since he joined Hermitcraft, like mid to late s6 he asked X if it was possible to do that for him. He's gotten waaay more confident since then. also he was a scrawny lil guy when he joined HC, but once he got comfortable he let himself heal (no more watchers) he became the fat little rat bastard I know and love. /aff Grian has fibromyalgia! He's an ambulatory wheelchair user and otherwise Mumbo carries his cane around for him just incase he needs it. (it's the colour of Mumbo's eyes. Grian won't tell him, and Mumbo will never know unless told since he can't see his own reflection.)
Ariana Griande was a persona he grabbed up pretty early on in his Hermitcraft career, and nobody except Mumbo, Scar and Gem know that that's him. He very much enjoys playing the part of Ariana every so often and wearing the tight hot pink outfits she does! When he's Ariana he doesn't mind using she/her btw.
CuteGuy is a very recent persona hes started playing. The cute superhero and sidekick to HoTGuy- they know eachothers identities but don't snitch. Mumbo doesn't know that Grian id CuteGuy, and gushes about that 'terribly handsome' superhero to his boyfriend regularly. Both Gri and Mumbo are huge HoTGuy fans and own a good chunk of merch of him. Mumbo does suspect that his Boyfriend is CuteGuy since he conveniently has to go build or farm or whatever whenever another hermit is in need of CuteGuy's help. Grian knows Mumbo's onto him. lol
Mumbo time!! the blorbo
Mumbo! He's a bat slash vampire guy. he's a real fancypants and wears strictly suits and cravats. He does however get it dirty with redstone periodically. His vampire identity isn't a secret- The hermits aren't worried about it since they're aware he drinks from pretty much only Grian. He's also a trans man! Just that he doesn't really use a persona to live out his hyperfemininity like grian, but rather wears dresses, skirts and other feminine clothes whenever he so pleases. He also refuses to get the teta snip, he thinks they look great in his suit jacket thank you very much. He's on T, a fair bit longer than Grian. Also, X knew before Mumbo did that he's trans. hehe. Mumbo WISHES he could eat anything other than Blood because he knows from Scar that his boyfriend's cooking is phenomenal. Also because blood doesn't really get you all that much nutrition which keeps him skinny, which in turn worries Grian all the time because he thinks Mumbo looks like a stick ( a "very hot and sexy stick" according to Grian mind you.) Mumbo has narcolepsy! He's pretty independent even with it obstructing most of his life. But sometimes very short sudden naps aren't too bad (when he's not doing redstone or building. Grian's always around when Mumbo's building up high, just for safety.)
I hope this isn't too much to read y'all! I just needed to dump all of this out on you guys today just to.. explain how my art functions? I guess? MWA kissy

This is literally the most self-indulgent ask I could ever send BUT. . a few days ago i had a misli about the boys' opinions on boys with pussies and the thing you wrote in regards to Jure's thoughts brought me much joy as a transmasc jureček fanboy. so basically I was wondering if you would happen to have any more thoughts or ideas about that (;・ω・) i hope this isn't too incomprehensible it's literally 3 a.m for me right now and english isn't my first language
Darling, we are all about self-indulgence here.
(original misli here)
(nsfw under the cut)
His cum is still fizzing around your teeth when you climb off him. You've cleaned off his softening cock with your mouth while he squeezed your thighs to each side of his face, licking at your post-orgasm t-dick to make you twitch.
The two of you are in your room, in your bed, and you turn around to collapse next to him for your post-sex recovery.
"Hey, can I ask you something?" Jure lays against the headboard, reaching for a cigarette, your duvet covering some of his nakedness.
"Why do you..." He's gesturing vaguely towards your hips. "Where's your dick?"
There's no malice in his question, only curiosity. Still, it takes a moment for your hazy mind to catch up with what he means.
"Babe, we've been fucking for two weeks. Have you only just noticed?"
His face is a little red, your juices still in his facial hair. He just shrugs, so you spell it out for him.
"I'm transgender. Raised as a girl, still have some original parts. What did you think was happening?"
He lights his cigarette and takes a drag. "Everyone's different."
You blink at him. You presumed he knew when you first hooked up - you'd been flagging your colours at the bar and he didn't flinch when he first touched you there.
"You're not a very complicated man, are you, Jure?"
"I see a hot guy, I think 'yum'. I see juicy pussy, I think 'yum'." He makes his point by turning to touch you, kissing you on the mouth so you can taste yourself on him past the tobacco and tracing your lines with a rough hand.
"Why don't you have boobs?", he continues.
"Had them removed."
"Huh." He runs a hand over your chest, admiring your flesh, your hair. "That explains the cool scars."
What did he think the scars were? He's covered a few of his own, but you're pretty sure his are accidental from adventures gone wrong. You'll ask him for the stories behind them one day.
"You could have given them to me." He squeezes at his own chest, pushing, imagining. "I'd quite like boobs."
His hands look good on his chest, all lean muscle and prominent veins. You're still slippery between the legs - half your own slick and half Jure's spit - when you drape a thigh over his. He puts a hand through your hair as you put your mouth to his chest, sucking slowly on a nipple, and lets out a groan when you use your teeth. There might be just enough time for another round.

we have always been here: documentaries about trans people
documentaries about trans people, starting in the year 1953. I don't speak to filmic quality or whether or not something is problematic, what matters here is simply the testimony and the stamp of existence (including in those where the subject matter is spoken about, rather than getting to speak for themselves)
(I haven't seen every one of these yet, so some of them have slightly shorter texts to go along with them)
while (as you'll see) most of these are US-based movies, they are from all over the world. I'd be curious about whether there are any focused specifically on the intersection of transness and disability, I don't personally know of any, although of many speak to issues with access to healthcare (for example southern comfort)
all the ones that have links connected to them are watchable for free
some of these can be watched for free on the archive, youtube, vimeo, many could do with a few coins thrown their way: many of the movies, for example the the aggressives can be rented on vimeo, transgender tuesdays is free on youtube but accepting donations for trans women of colour, lotus sports club is doing festivals currently and is accepting donations to support the team and the vulnerable trans (now men) who have had to leave it to find work, call her ganda is accepting donations to support the family's legal costs in bringing justice for their daughter
remember, finding the stories that have been graciously shared is one thing, supporting our community is the next step

This is who we are.
BAU Team x Nb!Reader
Summary: The team goes to a pride march.
Warning: None, maybe fluff.
Words: 666
A/N: It's trans visibility day, so I wrote this up really quickly, this is the shortest thing I have ever written so enjoy. I love you no matter where you are in your journey, so proud of you, you are doing amazing. Keep it up my lovelies.
Your body pumps with excitement, smiling widely as you walk around the streets, looking for your friends. This is your first pride march as an openly Non-binary trans person and you couldn’t think of anyone else you could be more happy to share this moment with. Your eyes are still scanning around the street trying to find where Garica said everyone was meeting.
“(Y/n), (Y/n) over here” You spin around hearing two younger voices yelling for you. Grinning widely as you see Jack and Henry running towards you followed closely by Spencer, who's wearing a white shirt that's been tie dyed in the bisexual and asexual colours. He's smiling happily as they reach you.
“(Y/n) you made it” Jack grins up at you before him and Henry are running back towards their parents, you and Spencer laughing at them as you follow behind them.
“I love your shirt Spence” Grinning at him, as your eyes land on his pronouns badge as well as his cheeks painted with his flags.
“Thanks, Penelope helped me make it last night, but I love your jacket, did you make it yourself?” Spencer grins at you. Your denim jacket had a the Non-binary flag painted on the back with the words ‘born this way’ on the back. Some of your favourite pins on the front, your favourite dinosaur pin that Jack got you for your birthday once is amongst your pride pins and badges.
“I did indeed, a few years ago, but I have never had the chance to wear it in public so here I am” Smiling happily as you approach the rest of the team. Where Garcia is applying face paint on Aaron cheek, painting the pan flag. Aaron holding back a small laugh when his eyes meet yours, knowing just how convincing Garcia can be.\
~~~
You look around the team, looking at everyones outfit. JJ is just wearing her normal clothes with the Bi flag painted on her cheek, her pronouns badge proudly pinned to their chest. Will standing beside her, arm wrapped around her waist with Henry standing in front of them chatting away with Jack, both of them holding a rainbow flag. Emily is standing beside her, the lesbian flag wrapped around her, the flag painted on both her cheeks. Next to her is Rossi who is wearing the ‘Free dad hug’ tshirt, along with his rainbow sunglasses. Morgan is laughing lightly, as he watches how excited Garcia gets when Hotch asks her to paint another flag on his other cheek, the transgender flag this time. Morgan standing there wearing his bi flag t-shirt, grinning as you stand beside him wrapping his arm around you.
“I'm next and then Garcia can do you cutie” Morgan laughs, earning a head shake from you.
“Oh I’m guessing I don’t have a choice here do I?” Laughing as a chorus of no’s and nope’s come flying your way with some giggles from Garcia.
~~~
As Garcia starts painting Morgan's cheeks, you grin happily as you finally take in her own outfit. Her sparkly pink and white skirt is paired with a tie dyed t-shirt in the same style as Reids, but instead her colours are the pansexual and transgender flag. Her cheeks are painted with the same colours as Hotch’s. Once she's finally finished painting your cheeks (The Non-binary flag and Pan flag) You all set off to wander down the streets with everyone, enjoying the day of being surrendered by support and love. A lot of people end up running over to Rossi for their free dad hug, Rossi was enjoying it so much, listening to their stories telling them how proud he is and how strong they are. As the day continues the vibes and energy of the day just keep getting stronger. Maybe that's when you realise that your job isn’t just a job, that this is where you're supposed to be. You get to help people and do it in the most supportive group and family ever.

I don’t normally post my non-fandom art on here but I’m hiding away from all other social media!
I wanted to start this at the beginning of pride month but pain has made it hard to draw. However, I caught up on the current drawings! I’m doing this in a random order so bare with me. That being said, feel free to send in requests of flags/disabilities you would like to see!
Image ID:
Photo 1. A young white man with blue and green hair sits in a green and blue manual wheelchair. His left arm is above his head. He is wearing a white T-shirt with “pride” written on it over a blue striped jumper. He is also wearing light blue ripped jeans and green converse.
Photo 2: A young white woman with curly ginger hair, it is tied up in a bun. She has dark pink prosthetic legs. She is wearing a peach coloured dress with a dark orange band and a pink tasseled shawl. She has right hand on her hip and the other up in a waving pose.
Photo 3: A young black man with purple and brown locs, they’re tied up in a ponytail. He is resting on a pair of lilac and black forearm crutches. He is wearing a dark blue pair of dungarees and a pale magenta jumper. He is also wearing a pair of pink vans.
Photo 4: A young east asian woman with long black hair stood holding a white cane. She is holding it up to her face, with the roller ball bottom reaching her mid calf. She is wearing a pastel blue shirt with a strawberry on it. Over this, she is wearing a half blue and half pink denim jacket. She is also wearing a blue and white tennis skirt, pink thigh high socks, and white platform trainers.
Photo 5: A young mixed race person with a dark brown undercut- they have a white forelock. They have a purple hearing aid and pale vitiligo type markings on their cheek and by their hairline. They have their left hand in their trouser pocket. They are wearing a white tshirt with black sleeves over a black and grey striped jumper. They are also wearing black and purple split leg jeans, black boots, and a silver padlock necklace.
They are based off of the Gay male, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and Asexual flags.

alice’s voice isn’t ‘distinctively male’. voices aren’t inherently gendered and how someone sounds doesn’t determine their identity. also, you said you’re not a terf because you don’t exclude trans men? and you said you don’t understand how transfem representation is good? that’s really not convincing me. sounds like you see trans men as misguided women and want an excuse to be bigoted towards trans women without fully committing to terf ideology because you know people would call you out for your bullshit.
alright, here we go.
first, voices are based on biology, vocal chords, the structure of the larynx, all that shebang. men have a generally lower pitch, and women have a generally higher pitch; despite that, there can be the reverse, but you can perfectly distinguish a male from a female based on the timber, the inflection, etc. there are, of course, androgynous voices where you can't quite place the speaker's sex; however, this is not the case. so, yes, voices are a way to tell the person's biological sex, which, through socialisation, ends up weaving into their social identity.
i believe that the notion of gender instead of plain biological sex is harmful and perpetuates stereotypes that affect not only, but mostly women, negatively. therefore, when a woman doesn't fit the social role that she is constantly being forced into by her environment, she may be led to believe (esp. if she has issues with self-esteem, insecurity, and body dysmorphia, which isn't a rare case) that she isn't a woman after all, since a woman should "feel" and "behave" a certain way to be real, as per the societal norm; which is overall a patriarchal notion of what a "woman" is. there comes the transgender ideology that happily supports it: a "woman" is whatever you want it to be. even if you're a biological male. so, yes, transgender men are in reality misguided women who, facing societal pressure, mistakenly believed that womanhood is something that should be felt and performed, and that the only escape was to deny their biology (which has absolutely nothing wrong in it, intrinsically) and more often than not undergo damaging operations and hormone treatment. and even then, often the issue doesn't go away, because, after all, it is rooted in the system that created this unattainable image of what a woman is. a woman is a biological female, and that's all there is to it. and i include those women in my radical feminist area of concern.
i myself went through a similar struggle. when the pandemic hit, i was fifteen years old. now, when you're isolated and enclosed from the world, you turn to social media and dive deeper into what you are on the inside. i discovered i was bisexual. i also thought that, since i didn't like to wear dresses and shave (my mother's image of femininity that she constantly perpetuated on me), liked sports, pirates and hiking, and preferred short hair, there must be something wrong with me. i thought a girl shouldn't behave like this. i dove deeper into the issue, and i stumbled upon transgenderism. i used to be very easy to impress and believed everything i saw online if it was presented as "safe" and "okay to do" in a happy, welcoming tone. i ended up convinced that i needed top and bottom surgery to feel "right" and "free". i hated the way i looked and thought i wasn't a woman if i didn't align with what a woman was defined as: caring, compassionate, fragile, with long, flowy hair, a love for dresses, high heels, shopping, and the colour pink, a soft voice and a curvy body; a woman loved the fact that she had periods and breasts and the ability to produce life. i had none of that. and that was exactly what biological males that thought of themselves as women use as an argument to justify their womanhood. i thought to myself, i must not be a woman, then, if i don't feel like one, which i should, because that's what "transwomen", who i believed wholeheartedly, said womanhood felt like.
then i found out about radical feminism, and it hit me like a truck. i saw what the transgender ideology was really about: abiding to societal roles and images created by the oppressive, patriarchal system that still sees women as an inferior species, as something to "become", as something to be performed and that can be worn like a costume. i realised i didn't need to feel like a woman because i already was one. and that's all there is to it.
the rest is society's expectations that if a woman likes sports, hiking and pirates, there must be something wrong with her. but there isn't. if we didn't have a systemic oppression towards women, we wouldn't even have created the notion of being transgender.
in short, call me out, please! i'd love to see where my bullshit is, because so far all i've said seems pretty logical to me. thanks!

Just saw a post talking about punk culture, it's values and the people who are wanted there and the people who absolutely don't belong there and as a Goth I just wanted to make my own post about this topic and how much I agree with it and the points the OP made. https://www.tumblr.com/overexciteddragon/723186912952778752?source=share this is the OP btw
Everything they said also goes for the Goth movement as well (unsurprising considering that the Goth movement was born from the cooling embers of the Punk movement) I see too many people on social media (cough tiktok cough) calling themselves Goths and then the very next video is them showing off their Shien haul or speaking in support of "Conservative Goths"
The entire Goth movement was founded and made up of lgbt+ people, disabled people, people of colour etc, It was created to be a safe community for everyone that society rejected and threw away, You cannot be a Goth or part of the Goth community if you do not support and accept everyone,
"I support everyone accept for the gays" Then you don't accept everyone and you aren't wanted here.
"I love and support everyone!" You are constantly in the comment sections of people of colour spouting racist shit, shut the fuck up.
"I support everyone except those Transgenders"
Stop talking.
Love and support should never be conditional, it should never be something that can just be handed out to the people you think deserve it, your "love and acceptance" isn't that at all, it's begrudging tolerance at best and vile hate at worst
"Conservative Goths" will never be accepted into this community because they stand and shout their support for people that hate us, people that create laws to try and hide us like we're society's dirty secrets and people that actively route for our deaths
You aren't "Conservative Goths" You are predators in Halloween costumes and you are trying to force your way into a community that was built using the blood, sweat and tears that you caused in the first place.
To be a Goth is to preach love and acceptance but also to scream and fight against the harmful system we live in and the corrupt, evil people that are actively working to get rid of us, You cannot stand by your harmful conservative values whilst simultaneously wanting to be involved in a community that has been fighting against those values since the late 70s

Transgender day of remembrance
While I was going to work, I was listening to the radio today with my mum. There's this little podcast that talks about little things that we do on a certain day and seeing that today is the 20th of November the woman told today is "transgender day of remembrance".
I was almost crying thinking about every person who was killed just because they were themselves, meanwhile my mother was horrified and even justifying the murderers (in a certain way).
Dear mother,
I'm afraid to be killed. I'm afraid that I'll die just because I'm being myself. Your "little girl" fears to show their true colours around you and the feeling they have on their chest is killing them. I'm afraid of you mother.
Please, today let's commemorate the lives we've lost and let's say: no more.
