Genuinely makes me so deeply sad to think of the degradation of fandoms. I remember being on tumblr back in 2013. I remember the culture from that year to 2015. I remember all the conventions that casts would appear at and talk at panels to casts, and I remember seeing gifsets of all of those. I remember softer language being used, with people more focused on having light hearted fun + being passionate about the content instead of constant raging morality debates. I remember there used to be SO MUCH interaction between fans and actors, and even before my time in spaces (thanks to youtube and old forums acting as an archive), fans would write in letters to the cast + showrunners, of whom would reply in videos for the fans. Do conventions even happen anymore?? Are there panels still? Are there fan interviewers that booked a timeslot asking the actors questions about their characters and the current season of the show? I feel like the 2000-10s were such a golden era for television, but moreso for fandom culture.

#context: im in a wormhole on youtube of all these old pixelated Lost interviews with Michael Emerson #and all the comments are 8-14 years old #people would speak so differently #it was so much kinder #people were less afraid to be cute i swear #and there was less divide #idk maybe im just not at the right places in the internet #but i KNOW for a fact that i used to see so many gifs of great fan interviews and conventions and panels #now i never see them #do they still exist???

#sims 4 #the sims community #simblr #ts4 #sims 4 edit #mysims #drawing/editing these tears took actual years off my life #editing this in general did but the tears were my hell #her name is norma jean named after her grandmother but she goes by either jeanie or jj #she works at the local convenience store and bartends at night when shes able to pick up shifts #shes the worst bartender in existence and refuses to lift anything over 2 pounds #she once convinced a customer to buy her a sweater because she looked a little cold while working #she lied and said her manager never lets them turn on the heat and casually mentioned pennys was selling her favorite sweater #and then described in detail exactly where the sweater was in the store #all she had to do was blink her big brown eyes and call them baby a few times and they immediately folded #she goes to church 7 days a week even though she hates it because that's what she did when her mom was still alive #and its one of the few things that helps her feel close to her mom #her mom died after she had to drop out of highschool to take care of her #she holds a lot of resentment for having to give up such a big part of her life #but at the same time blames herself for not being able to make her mom better #she doesnt believe in banks and hides money around her house to store it but she's also super forgetful #she'll randomly find money around the house and then treat herself like it was present she meant to leave for her future self #she loves crosswords but treats it like a fun game and refuses to check if her answers are ever right #there's ur fun little facts about jeanie 🫵🏼

Finished the game couple of days ago and had some thoughts I needed to process a little. Like. Yes.

So anyway I actually didn't plan this and just wanted to redraw some sprites to just make sure I understand how to draw Siffrin correctly (still working on that!)

What did I learn from this? How fun it it to draw on a canvas that literally doesn't let you draw with colors without some layer cheating when necessary. Never tried it.

The beans. Sleeping beans.

Basically what happens when you want to sleep AND draw. Draw characters sleeping on your behalf.

Doesn't help, but at least it's cute.

I have no idea what was going on in my mind as I drew this. Feels like a fever dream of 'I want to sleep' at 4 am and 'Hm...' of thinking random things

Also that phone craft sign. Still too funny to imagine. I had to.

He leaves a note saying he‘ll be back soon? Three terrified bats AND a supe crashing through the roof of a 7/11.

Casually mentioning he‘ll be going overseas to check up on a lead? Surprise! Nightwing‘s going the same way! What a coincidence!

Jason pushes someone off the roof? “Don’t worry Jaylad, I know it was an accident!!!!”

The next gig takes place at an abandoned warehouse? “Explosives whomst?? No, Jason, of course I didn’t scout the area beforehand. Don’t be absurd. Your bombs?? Oh, those were yours?”

Look, it’s not that Jason doesn’t appreciate a demonstration of how much they care. But he’s getting seriously fed up with the level of overprotectiveness everyone’s displaying.

Although, in retrospect, he could have handled this whole thing better than having an open spat with Bruce and then disappearing on them for two months straight. Oops.
