Let’s face it. Everyone in school has had a crush on Sung Hanbin at some point.

Handsome, polite, impossibly nice, infinitely patient, smart, talented, an incredible dancer, good-looking and did you mention handsome? Yes you did. 

Okay. It wasn’t like you were too bad yourself seeing as you were able to get elected as his vice president. But seriously, how do people like Sung Hanbin exist?

You swear he gets a confession every week. Sometimes more than that. And you know this because you’re coming out of the council room and there the poor boy or girl stands, waiting. Usually holding something like flowers or chocolates or snacks or a little trinket or a handwritten note. One time, it was a giant stuffed hamster. You didn’t even want to know how they managed to bring that to school. 

And there’s always just a second or two of awkward eye contact before you call for Hanbin. He goes out and you walk away, not wanting to intrude. Some of them take it gracefully, they thank him politely for taking the time to hear about how they feel and leave looking maybe a little shaken but unbothered. Sometimes he even receives the gift they prepared if they insist and offer it to him without any obligations. You’ve seen your fair share of criers, running past you down the hall, furiously wiping away tears. And some of them got a little crazy. But that’s a whole other story.

Which brings you back to your point. Everyone has had a crush on Sung Hanbin at some point. Some of them confess to him. They get rejected. They get over it. And you? Well you thought if you ignored your feelings enough they would gradually disappear. They didn’t.

Polite applause. No one asks questions. Hanbin takes his seat next to you as the teacher presiding over your meeting thanks all of you for your time.

“I’m the vice president,” you whisper back. “It’s what I’m supposed to do. Literally don’t worry about it.”

“Let me buy you dinner,” he offers. If this was any other guy, you’d think he was asking you out. But it’s Sung Hanbin and he treats all of the council members all the time.

“I’m going out with the events committee for a planning session. And you have a dinner meeting with one of the school board members later for a possible sponsorship for the event that we’re supposed to be planning so you might want to go to that instead.”

“Right! Right, I nearly forgot. Seriously, how are you such a lifesaver?

“I do my best.” You deadpan in an effort to not blush dammit, just because you have a crush doesn’t mean you have to be such a simp. But really, it’s not good for your heart when he compliments you like that.

He trails after you as you walk out of the council room.

“Maybe dinner tomo…?” Your suggestion dies in your throat as you meet eyes with the latest in Hanbin’s long line of confessions.

She must be one of the underclassmen because you don’t recognise her right away. But she’s so aesthetically pretty, smiling so beautifully when she sees Hanbin behind you.

“I’m sorry to bother both of you but can I talk to Hanbin-oppa for one moment?” God, she’s so polite that you feel bad for disliking this. She even thanks you when you nod and step aside. You’re surprised that she addresses him so casually but Hanbin doesn’t seem to mind at all. And Hanbin, the way he’s smiling at her makes all feelings in your heart die, stone cold and shattered.

Stupid crush. You don’t know why you have it in the first place. It’s annoying and unnecessary and completely unprofessional considering how you work together.

You don’t know how long you’ve been walking down the hall when the girl skips past you, greeting you again politely and going on her way. She looks…happy. Did Hanbin accept her confession?

It bothers you. Of course it bothers you. You want to go home and burrow yourself into your bed like you always do whenever you think one of the confessions goes well. Even if it actually doesn’t. Maybe you’ll even cry a little. Or a lot. So you do. After your planning session with the events committee, that is. A little heartbreak isn’t going to stop you from being a responsible vice president.

Being under the blankets, just hiding from the world, it’s nice. You can pretend. Maybe there’s a world where Hanbin does like you back….And now you’re sad again. Maybe you should confess. At least you can cry about it one last time and be done. But at the same time, why risk ruining the friendship you and Hanbin have going? Council meetings would be horribly awkward, maybe not for him but for you.

So you do what you always do after these little pity parties. You wash your face, drink a glass of water and try to sleep. Tomorrow you’ll be fine. Or at least, you’ll look fine. Hopefully.

You’re not fine. I mean you don’t look like shit but you’re definitely just going through the motions. At least, you’re busy. There are committees to check in with, teachers to talk to, your fellow council members giving updates and you just organising everything for the next meeting.

It’s a whirlwind. You barely see Hanbin beyond class and passing him papers or messages for all the school-related matters he needs to deal with. It’s easy to sink into it. To put your feelings aside and just work. You’re the fucking vice president and you need to do your job right.

Maybe it’s beginning to wear into you, just a bit. Missed meals, lost sleep, running around school, it’s all bound to build up. So maybe you’re not that surprised when you wake up in the nurse’s office. She’s helping you sit up, giving you vitamin water to sip and scolding you for overexerting yourself. If you had been out of cold for any longer, they would have sent you straight to the hospital for an IV. She actually offers but you say you’re fine. Instead, she insists you rest until the next period and then go home for the day. You can’t. You have meetings. But apparently it’s that or the hospital so you stay put.

Hanbin comes in a little later to check on you because of course he does.

“How are you feeling?” He asks, quiet and gentle in a way that makes your chest hurt and it’s not from passing out.

“I’ve been better.”

“I was really worried, seriously.”

“You need to worry about the meeting later. Getting sent home after this so someone else will need to do my part of the presentation. Also need a replacement for the committee session I'm supposed to be checking in with.”

“I’ll take care of it, honestly don’t worry, just take care of yourself.”

“I will, I will. And you don’t need to do that, Gunwook’s been wanting more responsibilities, let him take it. Really don’t worry about me.”

Hanbin’s quiet for a moment.

“I really can’t help it. Don’t you know how much I panicked when I saw you on the floor? It’s a good thing you didn’t hit your head too hard, I-”

“I’m fine now, you really don’t need to worry.” If he acts any more concerned, you swear you might cry.

It’s quiet again.

“I can’t.”

“You can’t what?”

“I can’t not worry about you.”

You lean back on the cot, just watching him. Hanbin’s working up to something but between the slight dizziness you still have going and the fatigue that’s come crashing down, you have no idea.

“You know I really like you a lot?”

Damn, you’re definitely hallucinating.

“Really?”

“Yeah, really. I’ve been really obvious about it. I thought you noticed and just didn’t say anything because you didn’t like me and saying it would mess with the council.”

You sit up.

“Wait, you're serious?”

Hanbin looks confused, maybe a little offended.

“Do you think I’m not being serious?”

“I don’t know, okay? You literally get a confession every week.”

“And I always tell them no because I like you.”

“How about that girl the other day?”

“Oh you mean my cousin? She just wanted to see you and then tease me about it when you left.”

You sigh, collapsing back onto the cot, too exhausted to react properly.

His expression goes from surprise to happiness and back to confusion but he’s definitely shuffling closer to you.

“So why didn’t you tell me?”

You look at him incredulously before letting out an even louder sigh. God, this man is going to be the death of you.

“Maybe take me out to that dinner you promised and I’ll tell you why.”

There’s a very pregnant pause before he goes:

The Mafia Game

Mafia Game seventeen edition If you haven't watched SVT play Mafia, I recommend it's so funny that I thought of this...except a lot bit more serious SVT, SKZ Bang Chan & Minho, ITZY Chaeryeong, Twice Sana *Hannie, *Yujin, *Soomin *made up Part One Warning: Horror, mention of blood, and death. Don't read if sensitive to these topics.

You were excited to go to the Halloween party that Seungcheol was hosting at his vacation home, where all your friends were attending. You rarely go out, so you want to have as much fun. After getting ready in your costume, you got in the car that your best friend Soonyoung was driving. You looked at Soonyoung's onesie and sighed. 

“Hoshi, this is like the 17th time you dressed as a tiger” 

“No it's not...it's the 13th time. But what's wrong with that though? I picked it for me not for you!” Soonyoung exclaimed and you laughed. You loved teasing him to get reactions from him. 

Both continued to talk until you arrived at Seungcheol’s house. You notice the third floor was being constructed on as metal beams were hanging. That looks unsafe...

As you entered his house, you saw many of your friends. In one table, your friends Dino, Changbin, Wooyoung, and Yeonjun were chatting.

Mingyu, Bang Chan, Jungkook, Minghao, Dokyeom, Jaehyun, and Yugyeom played games while eating snacks in the living room. You also saw Mina, Jihyo, Minnie, and Lisa in the kitchen having a few drinks and gossiping. 

As you entered the dining room with Soonyoung, you noticed that the rest of your friends were playing mafia. Jeongin and Heeseung raised their heads and pointed towards Beomgyu, to take him out. You laughed, knowing that Beomgyu would make a fuss at them when he finds out. 

“Y/N, Hoshi! You made it.” You heard Seungcheol call out. You grinned and hugged him.  

“Of course, I wouldn’t miss it, coups.” 

“Thanks. Sorry to invite you while the house is under construction, I wanted to see you guys. Oh Btw, anyone who stays after midnight gets to participate in the mafia game we prepared. I hope you and Hoshi decide to stay. If not that's fine, the rest that are not staying for long have decided to play now.” 

“Oh, I don't know if y/n should-” Soonyoung began but you cut him off.

"No, I want to participate this time. I'll make sure to stay!" you excitedly said.

“Great, I’ll write your names down for the event. See you later.” Seungcheol said before leaving. You turned to Soonyoung and found him gazing at you. You couldn't tell what he was thinking with an unreadable expression. You were going to comment on his look but you were then dragged away by other friends.

At one point during the party, you went to use the bathroom. You were washing your hands when you received a message from an unknown number.

It was almost midnight and some of your friends decided to leave early. One of your best friends, Chaeryeong, wanted to leave as well but you convinced her to stay. You wanted extra mortal support for when the mafia game commenced. 

“Gosh, I’m so nervous! 21 people playing mafia is a lot of people.” She then held your hand tightly and cheekily smiled “But I at least got you. You won’t kill me, right?” 

You smiled before turning your attention to Seungcheol. He started gathering everyone in the living room. Once everyone sat down, he went over the rules. 

“This won’t be your typical mafia game. To start, everyone has received a text message stating their roles. 3 mafias, one doctor, and one police officer. You will be given 7 minutes to look for the treasure chest hidden in the house. Look through the backyard and the 2 floors. 3rd floor is under construction. Whatever is inside the chest is the key to the end of the game. Once time is over, you vote on who you want to take out. You can take out 2-3 people at once if you like. Further instructions will be announced by the speaker in the living room. There will be 3 nights. Does everyone understand?” No one raised their hands.

“Okay then, let the mafia game begin.” 

Night One 

While others decided to look through the other floors and outside, you started on the first floor. You searched each cabinet and under the couch, taking notes that some people weren’t trying as hard as others.  

Could Jeonghan be the mafia? Jun? Minho? Who looks like they would be mafia... 

Your thoughts were cut off as you heard a heavy thump from above. You fixed your gaze up quickly, figuring something must have fallen. What was odd though was the faint sound of something being dragged. That's strange

You looked back down to see that Jeonghan was whispering something to Yujin. You carefully observed their interaction while making your way towards them.

"Did both of you hear that noise?" You questioned them.

Jeonghan nodded, "That noise was probably to scare us though. I wouldn't fix on that for long."

"Yeah, I'm sure it was on purpose." Yujin backed him up. They must not be hearing the dragging noise. You were going to point that out when you heard Soonyoung call you.

"Y/N, are you mafia?" he whispered to you. You shook your head and asked him the same. He smiled. "No, good to know you are on the good side."

Both then stayed searching together. Near ending time, you got a notification from the same unknown number. You looked at Soonyoung checking under the kitchen sink before looking at the text.

"What are you doing?" Soonyoung asked as he stood up. You turned off your phone screen quickly. At the same time, the timer rang, indicating the search was over.

"Nothing. Let go to the living room now." You said as you walked away. Most of your friends were already there.

"Hey, aren't we missing-" Bang Chan was cut off by a horrific scream coming from upstairs. Everyone froze as your friend Chaeryeong ran downstairs, stained in blood.

"WE HAVE TO CALL THE AMBULANCE! YUJIN! YUJIN'S HURT! PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!" Chaeryeong cried as she begged for someone to come up with her. Minghao quickly rushed to her side and both went up, many soon following.

As you were also making your way upstairs, a weak sound of gagging from the opposite direction was heard. Turning around, you saw a room almost shut closed. Scared to go by yourself in the darkly lit room, you called on Joshua and tugged on Bang Chan's sleeve as they were beside you.

"Guys, I hear someone this way. Aren't we also missing Hannie?" You questioned, your voice shaking. Joshua felt uneasy while Chan's eyes widened. They realized you were right. Chan then asked both to follow right behind him.

"I hope she's okay..." You told Chan and he nodded. Chan pushed the door open and you screamed. Hannie was lying on the floor, her throat sliced and bleeding out. She was crying with the last bit of energy she had left. Joshua froze in shock while Chan rushed to see if she was breathing, which she was struggling with.

You quickly pulled out your phone to call the ambulance but for some reason, you had no signal. "No please no..." You pleaded as you moved around for any connection.

"Y/N..." Chan called but you wouldn't listen. You frantically paced around until he held your shoulders in place. "She's gone."

Tears started to swell up your eyes as pain spread across your chest. How did this happen?! Joshua approached you, trying to console you as best as he could. But even he couldn't digest what just happened. He was lost. He hopes that what he just saw is just him dreaming. A prank.

But those thoughts vanished as footsteps were heard lugging towards the room the three were in. Soonyoung scanned the room with a worried expression, confirming the reality.

"We should get out of here, asap." He tugged your hand and motioned for all to follow. "We tried helping Yujin but...she didn't make it either..."

Reaching downstairs you saw everyone with tears and visibly panicked. You thought it was because everyone just witnessed the death of a friend. It was not until Vernon said something that made your stomach drop. "We're stuck here..."

"...What? What do you mean we are stuck here?!" You started to panic. "We don't have signal and now we can't leave?!!"

"The doors and windows have auto-locked. Cheol says he doesn't know how to remove them. The only door unlocked is the backyard but jumping over the fence...we're met with a 30ft fall."

"What if we break the windows?" Bang Chan suggested. Vernon pointed behind him. The scene of Minho and Mingyu angrily throwing chairs at the large window panels with no success was seen.

Just then, all phones in the room rung with a notification. You pulled out your phone and stared at the message.

Leaving so soon? The game has not been completed.

You need to find out who's mafia. The guilty ones. If mafias remain, they will find their next targets.

"What the..." You then looked at Seungcheol from across the room. "Coups, this isn't funny. We need to get out of here and report this."

"It's not me! I don't know what's happening."

"Well who else sent this? This event is being hosted by you!" You were going to rip him a new one when Soonyoung pulled you back.

"He didn't send that. He helping trying to find a way out just now with the rest." Just then another message was sent.

You have 10 minutes to guess who the mafia is before the next round begins. If no one decides to cooperate, consequences will follow.

Fear started building up even higher. Seungcheol couldn't have sent that, not with you looking straight at him. He wasn't lying. Just...what's happening?

"We should just do what we're told. I don't want to find out what kind of consequences this person is talking about. I wanna live..." Seungkwan spoke up.

"I'm telling you Cheol is guilty!"

"Agreed. This wouldn't have happen if he didn't host the party."

"I see that but he genuinely looks confused."

"Well then I think it's you!"

Your friends were going back and forth on who they suspected. You then asked for everyone to cast their vote to see. Many choose Seungcheol and you too thought the same. Just then, Soonyoung stood up.

"Guys, you may think it's Coups but think about this. Instead of focusing on him because he hosted this party, why not focus on who we think is the murderer?"

Soonyoungs words made everyone, for once, think. Soonyoung did have a point. Who harmed our dear friends? That's when you recall that Jeonghan and Yujin were together for the most part. No way...

"Well if we are going on that route, I suspect Jeonghan." You declared in front of everyone. Jeonghan pointed at himself, surprised his name was brought up. You harshly glared at him, "Yes you. I remember that during the game, you and Yujin were together for the most part. I saw no one else near her but you!"

Jeonghan scoffed, "Just because you saw us together doesn't mean I backstabbed her. We parted ways after telling me she had to use the restroom." He then looked at you up and down, "For all I know you could be the mafia and trying to put the blame on me."

Your friends were divided. They know you are being truthful as they also saw Jeonghan and Yujin together. Yet, like Jeonghan said, you could use that observation and mold it into a false accusation.

Soonyoung stood up again. He got serious and pointed directly at Mingyu. "It's him! It's Mingyu!"

"Huh? Hoshi are you sure-"

"Just listen. Jeonghan is telling the truth. I was watching him closely since he did look suspicious. He and Yujin separated after five minutes. In that instant, I saw Mingyu follow right behind her."

Mingyu's face dropped, not believing his name was just dropped as a potential suspect. Mingyu became angry again "Oh come on, I had to use the bathroom too! I have nothing to do with what happened to her,"

"Then why are you suddenly angry? Are you mafia?"

"Oh, now I can't defend myself from a wrong accusation?! Wonwoo back me up here!" Everyone averted their eyes to Wonwoo, anticipating the answer to this mess. He looked scared.

"Oh, I was with Mingyu and he did mention going to the bathroom. I waited for him by the stairs but he did take a while..." With that, your friends started to vote for Mingyu. Mingyu started to panic.

"You guys are voting for me because I took too long in the bathroom? Bro this has to be a sick joke. Is my tardiness the only reason that makes me mafia?!"

"Of course not. If you look at your shirt, there are red stains on you. It could be blood for all we know!" Hoshi strongly argued back.

"Oh come on! Those stains are because I spilled sauce while playing games in the living room!" Mingyu was about to rant some more when the big speaker in the corner of the room lit up.

"2 Minutes remain. Start deciding who to kick out"

Soomin kept drying her tears as she spoke, her hoarse voice taking over "Cheol and Mingyu...they should be kicked out. That should be final"

Hoshi shook his head "I don't want to kick coups just because he hosted the party. There is no evidence he did anything to our friends. For Mingyu, I made connections on how he could be the mafia. So he should be kicked out. Unless anyone can make a connection to anyone else, kicking coups makes me feel like we are kicking someone innocent out of fear."

"So we're going to kick out only one person? It would have been better to kick out two." Minghao commented. You felt the same way honestly.

Mingyu gave up defending himself. He already met his fate, being kicked out alone. Wonwoo looked at Mingyu and felt guilty. He didn't mean to insinuate that Mingyu was suspicious. If Mingyu was going to be kicked out, it shouldn't be by himself.

"I'll turn myself in," Wonwoo said as he joined Mingyu's side. Everyone had a puzzled look.

"Hyung, that's not how the game works." Dino nudged Wonwoo's side but Wonwoo shook his head.

"Time's up. Will the chosen suspects go to the backyard? Take six steps out." The speaker asked. Mingyu and Wonwoo opened the backyard doors and did as told.

Mingyu looked at Wonwoo, "Hyung, you don't have to. It wasn't your intention. I forgive you,"

Wonwoo smiled "It's okay, I want to do this."

These were their last lines before they were brutally crushed by numerous metal beams.

I totally understand what you mean though, I had so much trouble trying to understand the game mechanics as a beginner 😭😭

I researched a bit and added a few of my own tips for beginners, hope this helps! 🩷✨

Some tips I can share for beginners would be:

Send and accept friend requests: When going into battle you're able to use their cards. Some of those friends could have some really useful cards to use. I've had many instances where a card from a friend that I needed really helped.

Do not skip events: Many events can give you valuable resources and materials. These events may not give SSR Rank cards but they will give you an R Rank or SR Rank card if you participate in them. They give gems, thaumark and keys and other useful materials.

Save your gems: The game is playable in f2p and gives a normal amount of gems to do so, but do save your gems and don't waste them unless you really want or need a card. When it comes to Sam's shop there is a set that comes with 10 magical keys and is only 250 gems though it's only available once a month. By buying this set, it does save you a few gems. A normal 10 pull is 309 gems.

Team: When it comes to forming your team I recommend teaming them up based on the cards Duo Magic and Buddy Level. Train the cards that you would like, level them up and team them up based on Duo Magic/Buddy Level. The Characters give each other important boosts during battles based on their buddy level and could be a great help.

Lesson's: History lessons grant EXP that contributes to the cards level. The additional rewards are "Blooming Honey". Flight lessons grant EXP that contributes to the cards vignette level. The additional rewards are "Snacks". Alchemy lessons help increase the Buddy Level of cards, additional rewards are "Alchemy Tokens" and spell upgrades.

Card Ranks: Three different types of Rank cards. A R Rank card has a max level of 40 that can be extended to 60. A SR Rank card has a max level of 60 that can be extended to 80. A SSR Rank card has a max level of 80 that can be extended to 100.

When TWST allows you to pick a card to start the game, these are some beginner cards lots of people and I recommend (their info in there as well):

Riddle Dorm uniform – Highest ATK.

Leona Dorm Uniform – Highest HP.

Trey Dorm Uniform – High DEF and great healing.

Cater Ceremonial – His power boost is very good during the early game.

Card's: I recommend leveling and upgrading your cards one at a time. You want to upgrade all the cards or at least a few cards in each element. By doing this you can have a pretty big upper hand when doing battles because elementary bonuses play a pretty role in the game.

Tests: You should do these and try them as much as you do with the lessons. Unfortunately for me, I didn't know how much of a help doing these would have and didn't do them. Doing tests can give you interesting and good things when you get good results. They also help train your cards faster.

i did not mean to do it, but i was passing time in the library, just waiting for my sign language lesson (theyre going great btw, im really enjoying it) not planning to borrow anything, ive got plenty of unread books at home, but as i was leaving i passed the just returned section and there, i noticed it, a huge orange book (would be hard to miss honestly) and before i knew it i was checking out with it

im going on a school trip to england tomorrow (by bus so, a few days on the ride, well be stopping in amsterdam for a day so id love any tips btw, i plan to check your old trip asks) and i figured im gonna need something to read anyway and its so long ill definitely only only need this one book with me and it was even the english version which is the one i wanted to read so it was perfect

ok ok amsterdam tips hm. well first off watch out for bikes. I don't know how common bike riding is in your country so maybe you already know this, but in america you never really have to worry about looking out for bicyclists when you're crossing the street you just focus on cars. in amsterdam you WILL get hit by a bicyclist if you're not careful so make sure to watch out. this was a lesson I had to learn quickly as an american.

I definitely recommend finding a cute cafe or something in amsterdam. not a coffee shop since that term means something very different in amsterdam (although if you want to go to a coffee shop live your best life) but theres some very good actual coffee and snacks you can find in cafes. I still daydream about this cheese and tomato croissant sandwich I had in an amsterdam cafe it was so good

anyway I hope you enjoy priory!! honestly I'm kind of laughing at how many of you I've convinced to read it. I'm reading the prequel right now and literally losing my mind at how good it is. the worldbuilding for this series is just so immersive and vibrant and I really hope you fall in love with it like I did. and yes the maps are SO fucking cool. one of my favorite details is how you have maps at both the beginning of priory and the beginning of a day of fallen night (the prequel) but since adofn takes place several hundred years before priory the maps look similar but different and you find out what changed the maps over the course of the story and it's just so interesting

If you’ve never drunk before start light!! Get something with low ABV and drink slow. Something like a seltzer or light beer. Drink lots of water in between. Eat beforehand and keep snacks around.

✈️ Advice! Some practical some rambling (sorry 🙈)

Do not drink alcohol, do drink plenty of water.

Take a change of at least underwear (but ideally more) in your hand luggage so you can change when you get off. This is also good incase your luggage goes missing (toothbrush also for this reason).

Dress for comfort above all else but also consider the weather where you will land when dressing/packing hand luggage.

Bring snacks - airplane food has gotten a lot better in recent years but is still not great.

Bring disinfectant wipes and clean down your arm rests, tray table, any touch points basically (you think those shits get cleaned between each flight? Nuh uh.) This is also good for wiping hands after eating or using the bathroom.

Unlike short haul you WILL have to use the bathroom so if that squicks you, get over it fast and mitigate by doing the above.

Feel free to take shoes off or whatever when in your seat but WEAR YOUR SHOES WHEN LEAVING YOUR SEAT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. The floors of planes are very gross. (Pls do not remove your socks 🤢)

This next one is hit and miss dependant on personalities.

I recommend you say a polite hello and make a little small talk with your seat mates. You are going to be inches away from each other for roughly 8 hours. I'm not saying you have to make friends but it's nice to be able to say "hey can you wake me up when the food comes" or, "excuse me I need to get out to the aisle" without feeling unsure of the reaction you will get. If you do the polite "where are you from? Where are you going, and why?" script. This opens the door for "if you are asleep is it okay for me to wake you go get up to pee?" (Very good to establish early), "btw I have *insert potentially off putting thing here* (for me I crack my right sholder as a stim. And it involves a lot of arm waving which can weird people out/cause concern because it sounds painful) please don't worry if I do *insert thing* apologies if it bothers you I will try to keep it to a minimum". IMO this creates an overall more relaxed and pleasant experience. I recommend this triple if you are travelling solo/don't have seats as a group.

i have some hockey-related asks, i'm going to try to get to them tomorrow. sorry guys, been a bad mental health weekend for me.

i thought maybe writing about it would help, so that's under the cut, but i'm discussing mental health stuff and a bit of food stuff so please don't click and read if you're sensitive to that, and even if you're not don't feel any obligation to click and read lol i just am complaining mostly.

as someone who's had mild clinical depression and moderate generalized anxiety for basically my whole life, it's kind of...shocking to me to sometimes pull my head up and look around and see just how badly i'm being affected by acute situational depression.

it has a different flavor and a different feel. i'm familiar with the struggle to motivate, the lack of desire to get tasks i find unpleasant done even when i know i have to do them, and the occasional bouts of like...idk just Existential Sad. i've always had that, and i've always been able to sort of stiff-upper-lip my way through it and come out feeling better after a few hours or days of feeling not so great.

this? jesus christ.

i cannot make myself get out of bed in the mornings more than a few minutes before i have to log on for work. i lose time during the work day just staring into space. i haven't taken my dog for a long walk in weeks (now part of that is due to the very extreme weather and now my fucked-up knee, but if those things hadn't happened i cannot with confidence say i'd be out there with her). i lie down and just want to...stay there.

i've always been a comfort/stress-eater. i've struggled with my weight for always, not exactly helped along with my mom's absolutely awful approach to body image and like. idk just general care and maintenance of a teenage girl's weight, this is all stuff i don't even want to get into lol, but suffice to say that i am not at my healthiest physical self and have for years sort of made myself feel better with little snacks. but now? i don't eat all day and it's like i can feel that i'm hungry, i understand that the reason my stomach hurts is because it's 4:45 pm and i haven't had anything but coffee today, but i cannot get myself to get up and go downstairs and have something. i bought protein shakes and those have been getting me through the really bad days, but even though they're the brand and flavor i like best when i'm training for long runs (koia vanilla bean and chocolate brownie btw if anyone needs recommendations), they taste like chalk and i have to force them down.

the insidious part is i think i'm doing ok. i get through a work day and maybe, like, do the dishes and say 'hey! look at me, being independent. i'm doing just fine'. and then i walk past the giant pile of stuff i've ordered to try and make myself feel better and haven't even opened. there's a pile of boxes downstairs that i cannot motivate myself to open. i go past it and i go upstairs and i lie down and that's it. the whole afternoon and evening passes and i just stare at my phone trying to keep my mind blank because if i don't i start crying and can't stop.

you can find articles out there that outside of the literal death of a spouse or child, divorce is one of the most stressful events a person can go through. and i fucking believe it. i have never felt this bad for this long in my whole entire life.

i hate feeling like this and it's been worse this weekend than since this whole fucking thing started, i think, and it's so DUMB because we actually got some good news with my mom (along with some bad but that's end-stage cancer for you), so you'd think that would pick me up and help me? you'd think i could have used these days to do some of the things i need to do, like actually putting my clothes in the dresser i finally bought? but no. i've spent basically since friday night getting out of my bed long enough to take daisy to do her business when she needs to go and use the bathroom myself, and that's...it, basically.

this is so stupid. there are so many worse things in life than this, so many people who are going through really bad shit, but all i can do is sit here and thing about how fucking worthless and thrown-away i feel. how pointless. like i'm a piece of trash that just can be discarded when someone's done using it up.

i don't even miss him. right? like i don't. he was bad for me. but holy shit.

Tag 9 People you want to get to know better

I was tagged by @momo-t-daye and I need to do smth instead of working, so...

Three ships. Right now my #1 is Snack. The parralelism of their fates and lives, the amount of void in the backstories you can fill in without diverging from canon too much, the unbearable depressive finales (and how, if you add their relationship there, these finales become WORSE, so people just go and create incredible AUs where these two miserable men are somehow happy with each other). Enough basis to work with, but also enough freedom for thought. This ship is also kind of a challenge, because making them a couple is a struggle, but it's extremely interesting to think of a plausible way to make it all work. If we talk about HP, I kinda like other stuff, but far from the Snack’s level? Though non-romantic friendship/familial ships like Snily or Severitus sound interesting. I've been in HP fandom for a pretty short time, so I'm still figuring out what I like and don't like and what I think about certain things and relationships. If we talk multifandom, I kind of wanted to have this blog as a fresh start, so I don't really want to talk about my other recent fandoms, sorry!

First ship. If we talk about HP, first one would be Snarry, but I was like 12 or 13 when I liked it, many years passed, I’m a very different person now and just don't see it anymore. If we talk multifandom here, there was this oldass 2000s show Dark Oracle and I shipped Omen/Kelly hard, lol. But what made me join fandom spaces and become actually active is Kaname/Zero from Vampire Knight.

Last Song. I'm kind of melomaniac and I either listen to hundreds of songs a day or one on repeat for a week. Unfortunately, right now I'm in the phase one, so no “I’m obsessed with this one” level of recommendation for you, but my last one today was How Soon Is Now? by The Smiths. Still in awe of the situation that I was just creating 80s Snape's playlist, but got viciously attacked by Charmed flashbacks. I’ve never heard original version of this song before and thought of this melody as just Charmed opening song, I had no idea.

Last Movie. I actually watched Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets with my friends last weekend, we are in process of watching/rewatching the whole series right now. Not gonna lie, it's a very different experience now when I'm an adult than what it was when I was a child or even a teen. A lot of things seem silly now, while other things seem more interesting and important. Tom’s still hot though. Not my type, but not gonna lie here.  I also watched A Ghost Story with Rooney Mara and a bunch of other movies before that while trying to create my fancast for a video about Severus' family and find fitting video material, and this movie was a very interesting experience for me. Made me feel small and weirdly nostalgic, but also calm about it? Love this feeling that indie movies often give off, they simultaniously get under your skin and feel like a warm blanket. The video is still in process, btw, I just decided to work on it on holidays when I have proper free time, my software is kinda buggy so the process itself is too irritating to spend on it the bits of free time I have now, but I love where it's going. And yeah, I see Rooney Mara as Eileen, she has this look in her eyes — frightened, hollow and piercing which I haven't seen anywhere else. She's also really great at playing kinda detached working class characters, which is a must, I think.

Currently Reading. I've just read two printed volumes of Lore Olympus. Can't say that I became a fan. The artstyle is fun, but the story didn't seem to me as unique as people say. Maybe it gets better, but I judge from what I have right now. Honestly, I have books all over my room that I want to read, but lately I read only comics and fanfiction, I'm too overworked for anything serious and my imagination is more active for creation than perception these days.

Currently Watching. As I said, we are in process of rewatching all HP movies with my friends, and that's basically all. I plan to watch del Toro's Nightmare Alley though, someone recommened it to me long time ago.

Currently Drinking. Coffee. The only thing that keeps me awake and sane lately.

Ohh a question abt my writing!!! Thank you I love it. Okay so, I've been writing since last year April(-ish?) And I was writing for bungou stray dogs mostly. Honestly, fanfiction is just something I'm using to practice and develop my style. My ultimate goal is to get good at it so that I can be(or atleast try to be) a writer when I grow up

Part of how I started writing is because of that goal so idk how helpful my tips would be but one thing I can tell you is, just start writing whenever you can. Ik that sounds cliche but you just have to do it. If you're confused abt what you want to write, you can take help from those writing prompt blogs on tumblr (those are a blessing trust me)(if you want I can recommend you my favorite blogs). I recommend starting with fanfiction bc your love for the characters will ultimately bleed into the act of writing and will motivate you. Hope this will be of help <3

1) oof okay. i’d want to recommend gone girl by gillian flynn for the book but people would think i’m sick in the head so i’d go for the hunger games by suzanne collins, weirdly? it was the first f*ndom i was ever in & it meant so much to me when i was in my pre-teens, and now that i’m older i’m finding more things to love about it that i would’ve never thought of as a kid.

ACME Wildfire Tour (Constellations pt. 1) live show report

Hey guys, I was lucky enough to see Acme again after 2 years at their Constellations showcase in LA so I wanted to do a little report about it since it feels like forever since I went to a jrock concert TT A TT. It was a great time and I got a lot of cool stuff, so keep reading under the cut if you want to know more~

I was supposed to go with a few friends to this live but most of them ended up cancelling a few weeks before so I went alone. I was a little bit worried but I have traveled to that area on my own before so I knew how to get around. I arrived in Union at 5am the day of the show ;;;;;A;;;;;. I barely got any sleep but luckily was able to nap after checking into my room for the weekend. I woke up and grabbed some food/snack/shopped in Little Tokyo (Chinchikurin is so good btw I really recommend it!)

I had never been to the venue before and looking at the pictures from Maps I was a little weirded out since it looks like some warehouse in the middle of Skid Row. Once I was close I saw the line and instantly knew where to go. I walked right into the VIP line by pure chance! but then realized I had to check in at the front so they could mark my name from VIP list. It seems it was just the right time since everyone else decided to come afterwards and the lines kept stretching around the block.

After half an hour or so they started letting VIP line go in EXTREMELY FAST?! Yeah, they barely even checked our bags which was suspicious but I guess they just didn’t want to waste time or they would be behind schedule? Since it was a lineup of artists & not just ACME, there was multiple VIP lines for the other fans and the ACME line was a little confusing to get into, but i made it in by asking some people around. I keep forgetting just how TINY they look in person. They had the black suits with the crystals and glitter all over and I immediately spotted Chisa wearing red heels (you can peep in the picture). The line was not as big since I realized later most people came for Demondice (which I had no idea who they were until that night).

The photo op went by pretty quick and when it was my turn I said thank you for coming in japanese and they responded to me in english “Hiiii“ and “Thank you” It’s cute to see that theyre practicing their English for NA fans. I wish I could’ve talked to them more, but they were already signaling me to pose and I got my pictures taken. I didn’t know I could ask for individual photos until other people went after me and they got solos with Chisa, Hal etc. I was so shook LOL, but I didn’t want to make demands if I didn’t think they would be comfortable with it (that’s also why i kept my mask on too). At the other show I saw them at I also saw people getting solos but I thought that was part of their VIP pack or that it was mentioned to them. I might try that next time xDD. I also feel a little sad since I wanted to give Chisa a drawing but wasn’t able to complete it before the concert ;; so I think I will probably send it to him on twitter later. (follow here if you’d like) This is now the second time I miss out on that LOL.

During VIP line I also talked to some people and made a few friends just geeking about them. Regretting not getting their info later TT A TT. Christina and Oscar if you’re looking at this let me know! We were wondering when we would get our VIP gift as well since we waited at merch line after getting out photos. I decided to ditch it after a while so I could get to the front of the stage before GA got let in. It was a good call since the show started not much later. The first performer was Shihori which I barely knew but I vibed to their songs. There was mic issues at the start of most sets, but the crowd was still hyping them up until everything was fine.

Next came ACME’s set and I was already super pumped and little warmed up from the last set. I could tell after a few songs that most of the crowd wasn’t their fans, but a good chunk of us were towards the front and kamite end because you could see the synchronized headbangs and furi. I’m still trying to find the set list for their show since I forget the order of most songs but the ones that were most memorable were Houkago no Shiiku, Enchanted, Zesshououka, and the final song with Shihori as special guest. I even brought my fan so I could furi to Zesshououka while most people just used their hands. I caught Chisa smiling during that one since we were doing everything in sync. It’s honestly one of the most fun songs to hear live. I took a few short videos and photos but for most of the night I barely reached for my phone since I wanted to enjoy the show. I don’t know if I was enjoying myself too much but it felt like such a short set and the fact that there was 5 other people still left to perform meant that they each got less than an hour probably.

At any rate I still stayed at the front of the stage until the end of Teddyloid’s set since he was the only other artist that I knew from the line up (and he was #5 on the lineup TT A TT) He played Fly Away and Anarchy which were the most fun for me, but still wished he had done the theme for Scanty and Kneesocks ;’(. Either way, after his set I was feeling way too dehydated so I abandoned my spot and got water from the bar then also picked up my VIP signed poster and magnet at the merch table. It suddenly felt like it got way more crowded after Demondice came out because I was being pressed against the bar and my head was ringing super loud even with ear plugs on. The whole day had caught up to me by then. I just heard the Demondice set from the back since I was too short to catch a glimpse of anything. After she was done people just LEFT the venue within two minutes. At least 1/4 of the crowd stayed after since there was a  closing DJ and/or they wanted to buy merch. I caught one of my other VIP line buddies Candace and talked a bit before finally getting some rides back. It all ended around 2am like we had imagined. I kept looking at my photos with ACME on the way back like an idiot hehe. Luckily I got more sleep that night but the headache didn’t go away until almost 2 days later.

Overall had an amazing time and I was glad that I got to be in the front row for them for a second time. Hopefully this will bring in some new fans for them in the future since I want to keep catching their NA tours whenever I can. I still think about how I missed the one in 2021 but alas. I’m a little more prepared now x). I will try to come back and update this with the set list if I can find it anywhere.

i can’t see him being anything but casual and accepting !!

if you want to talk about things, he’ll most definitely let you, but if you don’t want to he won’t push.

i feel like he might question his own gender identity a little as well sometimes, especially due to what people say online (like calling him “pretty”, the edits some people make, praising him for breaking stereotypes, etc.)

so, he probably understands a bit deeper than some of the other members might.

in that same vein, i think it might make him a little bit emotional to hear your story !!

over the years, i think it’s plain to see that he’s become more comfortable with expressing his more feminine attributes, which has always comforted you as his friend.

he understands the feeling of being uncomfortable with the gender roles one is expected to follow, so he empathizes with you.

in terms of his actual first reaction, i think it would be pretty similar to what i suggested in the other version of this.

i think his initial reaction would be pretty similar to chan’s !!

he also seems like the type to be super, super diligent with adjusting to whatever pronouns you feel comfortable using or words you’re okay with him using to refer to you.

(maybe it’s because we know he was a good student and he’s diligent with practicing his english. training his brain to correct itself would be like studying for him lol)

for example, instead of calling you “pretty” or “handsome,” he might even try simply pointing out a part of your appearance that he thinks looks especially great !! something like your eyes, your hair, your outfit, etc.

your hair looks great today, btw. anyways-

aside from that, i think he would just try to be as courteous as possible without making a big deal out of things.

and if he ever slips up with your pronouns, descriptors, etc, he’d be super quick to apologize and correct himself before keeping the conversation going like normal !!
