TRANSMIGRATOR'S GUIDE TO: Florian Verwandlung
One morning, when the boy woke from troubled dreams, he found himself transformed in his bed into a horrible vermin. He lay on a wet and sticky mass, and if he lifted his head he could see the half-formed wings that had furled around him in the night . . .
A meek, weak-willed boy with a perfect attendance record. He is easily pressured into doing things for the benefit of others.
Below is more information about him.
PERSONALITY
It is easy to describe Florian as someone who views himself only worthy of doing his meager best for others. As is within the expectations of his family, he is diligent and studious, even if it only brings about average results. Sometimes, he can come to fixate on certain things that give him purpose or direction (such as people, his attendance streak, his family's expectations...)
Although he struggles with interaction, he cares more about the comfort of others than himself, having long internalized such a mindset. Lacking self-confidence, he is unable to assert himself and will go along with what others ask of him.
ABILITIES
Magic: Florian unlocked his magic a few years prior to being accepted into NRC, but was never formally trained. It is, presumably and at first glance, nothing more special than the average NRC student.
Insect Communication: For unknown reasons, Florian can speak to and partially control insects. Not that this usually serves much of a purpose.
Eyesight: Florian has exceptional, almost superhuman eyesight -- however, he rarely makes use of it.
TRIVIA
Florian never takes off his mask or eats in front of others. He also always wears long sleeves. The only exception to these two facts is if a rule dictates he must act otherwise.
Sometimes, phantom butterflies made of magic will follow him around. They will dissipate with a simple wave of the hand through them.
For all of middle school, he either took classes remotely or was totally absent.
His suit is the Nine of Spades.
Inspiration: The Metamorphosis

Genuine thought as a fellow trans dude, I’ve seen a lot of (obviously non-serious) questions on other blogs about characters’ genitals such as “how does it look like?” and similar, and I think we all know & understand that such questions are extremely inappropriate to ask and (I hope) no one would actually go around asking these questions irl. Idk, I think we should treat trans characters just like cis ones, without any special “precautions”, so to normalise them and not make cis people treat them like fragile boxes, a thing which happens to a lot of us irl. Hope this doesn’t come off as an attack or anything lol.
no worries, i didn't take this as an attack at all. i actually agree with you, that's why i mentioned feeling conflicted about it and also mentioned that i've changed my stance on how i felt about handling Noel and Clementine in game and in explicit intimate scenes.
however, for me the problem comes from the fact that people... don't ask these kinds of questions about cis characters? i suppose people do get cheeky "who is the biggest 🤪" asks but i would hardly compare the two. to be a bit crude, no one is going to be asking if a cis character has a dick or not, or "what does it look like". of course it's natural for people to be curious, and i honestly encourage the open discussion and am happy to see trans bodies being talked about more in a positive way, but not everyone is going to be comfortable with it due to the inescapable transphobia online and in the community. sending me that kind of ask is like sending out an invitation for a debate or a discussion that i don't necessarily want to have. i also just don't think people should default to asking a random IF author on tumblr dot com to describe what bottom growth looks like.
and with most of these asks typically coming from someone who is anonymous, i have no way of truly knowing what the tone is, what their intentions are or why this is being asked - is it another trans person? or maybe someone who is just genuinely curious? or, more likely in my experience, is it someone who is going to immediately follow up this message with something transphobic after i answer? do i want to roll the dice and find out?
so while i agree with what you're saying, it's important to consider the context and the reality we live in. the IF community is not kind to trans people or trans characters. and as a trans person, my first priority is protecting myself and my mental health. so what i mean when i say "precautions," is that those precautions are for me, because i've had to deal with transphobic harassment here for years now, and i try to mitigate it as much as i can. it's also for my personal comfort - again, to be blunt, i'm simply just not comfortable discussing a trans character's genitals with anonymous strangers on the internet. it makes me feel vulnerable.
also i do want to say i didn't mean for any of that to come across as a dig at other authors - if you're comfortable answering those kinds of questions, that's really only something you can decide for yourself. like i said, this is just coming from my own experiences in IF and for my own personal comfort - i have previously talked a lot about trans stuff and gender and sexuality here, when i'm feeling up to it, but it is something that is very draining for me and can also be very upsetting.
basically: i do agree that it's important not to other trans characters or treat them any differently than cis characters, but i also think there are ways to do it that don't require me answering invasive questions or questions that i don't feel comfortable with as a real life trans person, you know what i mean?

everyone talks a lot of shit about hamilton, and especially how cringe hamilton fandom was, but for ME who was THERE the most harrowing thing was realizing that other people are significantly less knowledgeable and interested in history than i am
"wow, in 'Wait For It', aaron burr says that his grandfather was a fire and brimstone preacher, and that was a reference to the fact that his grandfather was actually the 'sinners in the hands of an angry God' guy!" was a sentence that meant absolutely nothing to anyone i tried to tell it to. and it interested them not at all.

while my mind is on headlights and my patronizing gripes about them, i'll add this: if it's raining hard in the middle of the day (like *insert the unfortunate idiom of domestic abuse* kind of rain when its still very bright out), and you're driving in somewhat dense/heavy traffic, do not put your fucking high beam lights on. the light bounces off of the rain droplets and makes visibility a billion times worse. for goddamn everyone around you. which makes everyone else put their high beams on bc they cant see SHIT. creating a dangerous and eyeball-searing feedback loop.
when you're driving in rain, esp on a lower-speed road, having your lights on is important secondarily [primarily is your own visibility obvi] for a) letting oncoming traffic see you, and b) letting cars in front of you see you in their rear view mirrors. some people even say that if its bright enough u can/should use fog lights to mitigate the whole light-water reflection effect, but iirc those usually dont light up the car's tail lights, which are important for cars behind you to see you. however i maintain that unless you're driving on a highway/interstate or some other "higher-speed" roadway with few stops/lights/intersections, if the rain/snow/fog is so bad that you can't see a car like 4-5 car lengths in front of you until they hit the brakes and you're Right There and you need to stop or significantly slow down, you're either driving way too fast for the conditions or following way too close. :))))

I'm very scared to give FNaF movie theory videos a chance bc like. The last time I cared abt the game lore was before the Gregbot bullshit and that stuff was kinda my breaking point with the newer (Steel Wool era specifically) games, and I realllyyy do not want to listen to a guy pull the most convoluted ideas from the books n shit as if they inherently mean anything for the movies.
I know the thing with FNaF now is that the plot is basically the equivalent of like 40 shoe strings tied together in the most tangled, impossible to separate knot, and that, despite the fact the books were originally supposed to be separate from the games, both the books and the games inform eachother to an upsetting degree, but like. Fuck, come on man. Aren't any of you tired of the state the game lore is in? Can the movies pleeeaaase just be based on the first three games.
Anyways I'm glad Micheal is not an Afton and has his own shit going on (even if tied to Afton but I was expecting that from the start I think). I really hope that they don't involve the "cofounder Henry Emily" shit and instead there's a different connection to Afton, that or the movies at least don't carry the Henry Emily name over because god would the theories be even more insufferable. (William gets a pass bc his name is cool and yeah ig that's a biased statement. He got his own cover name in the movie separate from the books' cover name so we can just throw away the Henry Emily name it's fine.)
I think if the second movie were to make Micheal an Afton it'd be so disappointing. I like the movies being their own thing while inspired by the first three games outside of references to stuff beyond that. I don't think everything needs to be shoved into the FNaF lore amalgam that constantly makes things more confusing. Let's just have one continuity that's clear that you dont need to force into being a clue at hidden game lore or that game lore inherently means [xyz] for the movies outside of obvious stuff carried over.
