personal, sounds negative but im just letting out stress

and its not nearly as bad as other things going on but why do i have three funerals in the next week and a half 😭 one of them is on my birthday but it was so sudden that we probably won't get to go, but that stresses me out in a different way because my parents have had so many arguments over my mother feeling like her family isnt prioritized. which i cant really disagree with tbh although there are reasons for that

but like oh my godddddd why do i have three funerals happening in the next week and a half. PLUS a shit ton of work that came up last minute so i couldnt do ANY of it ahead of time. 'yeah j can you just make a whole poster in three days with new material while also doing your normal research' yeah maybe! if it werent election week with three funerals coming up!! but i have to try anyway i guess!!!!

and my birthday is somewhere in there too like i am literally never allowed to celebrate it there is always some shit happening in november 🙄 not going to be specific about what day it is so dont worry about missing it or anything, i'll probably not even be online

AND i have to meet a bunch of relatives i know nothing about (my grandfather apparently did not get along with them due to religion and life choice conflicts) so they could be anywhere from white liberals to active trump lovers and i have to just. find that out over my grandfathers ashes yippee 🙄🙄🙄

tbh foreign policy was listed as the least important issue for exit polls, arab and muslim heavy states like minnesota and michigan are not what lost harris the vote, and jill stein got under like one percent. everyone making this about leftists who didnt vote either pro or against is making something out of basically nothing. americans are fundamentally boring and apolitical and above all completely self centered. they do not give a fuck about the suffering of people in palestine or ukraine. they just know that gas was cheaper 4 years ago or whatever. the amount of incredibly normal people i know who arent even right wing so much as just sort of uneducated and incurious about any issues / had no interests beyond like big ten sports or binge drinking or getting ahead at work and getting rich are voting for him not people who agonized over a single thing ever. this is unfortunately a non issue bc americans dont care about anything but themselves, you just happen to be around small groups of the exception

i wish after all these years i had like. any progress towards understanding how to react to people who 1) i perceive to have similar levels of neurodivergence as i do, but 2) assume i'm neurotypical. like i knowwww the best response is to just shut the fuck up and affirm their feelings while they process stuff, but. trying to open up about how i also mask xyz to simply try and relate to them and being told that i don't get it or that i'm making light of their issues is simultaneously awful on a 'i'm really trying not to be a bad friend i swear' level and also on a pure invalidation level. and then if i dont mask theyll get annoyed at me for doing the same things that they do like oh ok. sorry

its like this really weird interaction where theyre trying delicately to describe the time knife and im like 'oh yeah we've all seen that, fucked up isnt it' and theyre like hmm, you must not understand what im describing, because theres no way that you would be able to comprehend the time knife

to be clear some of these people i don't talk to anymore, and others i care about at a level deep enough that this issue isn't going to disrupt it. i think my real issue is that i'm just sick of being awkward and weird in a way that genuinely disrupts my social life, and i'm taking that frustration out on people who i perceive to be in a similar situation to me, but are giving themselves the kindness of believing themselves about it. i would never do that though im just like this because of the homeschooling and such
