mirabelle is pink for reasons that should be obvious. its The Defacto Precure Protagonist color theres been like two exceptions in the whole franchise to that rule and one of them was debatable and mirabelle just has that magical girl protagonist energy yknow?

isabeau is red because red precure, when they aren't the angsty ones, are the energetic sporty kinda goofy ones, which i feel fits him a bit?

odile is blue because blue precure tend to be studious and calm characters and the "voice of reason" of the team. they also tend to be emotionally repressed though #Lol

bonnie is yellow because in precure yellow tends to be the color of "kid appeal characters", the characters meant to be likeable for the really young kids in the audience. hell in one season the yellow precure was just straight up a 10 year old. while in earlier seasons yellow precure tended to be the cute ones but in later seasons they tend to be zany chaotic comic relief characters, bonnie was picked for the latter characterization.

white precure are rare in precure so it is a bit hard to assign meanings to them, but siffrin is white because white precure have a tendency to be the "second in command" and usually behave as foils to the main characters, which fits how siffrin is the protagonist of the actual isat game even though mirabelle is meant to be a conventional rpg protagonist. i also just felt it made sense if siffrin was the only character to have an "isat typical" theme color, given he's the main protag of canon isat, and white is basically the only monochrome color that gets used as a precure color, soooo yeah. as for the red accents, most white precure have some kind of accents to break up the design and red just. made sense given its use in isat's ending.

I agree with your post about hermit fans in regard to things being very popular. I’ve seen more people being angry and annoyed about scarian in the last six months than people celebrating it. Not tagging shipping is shit but it’s better than harassing people. I don’t know what was put in the water but something changed drastically and I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s seen it.

People are scared of being judged. They want to do what everyone else is doing. They don't want to be cringe or cliche and every day I see a "cringe culture is dead" post and then someone making fun of another part of fandom, an antithesis to their previous statement. They don't want to be late to things, either. Who cares if Last Life was a couple years ago? Draw the fanart anyway!

I'm scared. Maybe I'm just old, but every post I see I notice that I get maybe a 10th in reblogs of what I do in likes, and I don't even post my art or fics to this site. Every post is like that. More and more people only like posts and they die, unseen, by everyone. More and more people misuse archive of our own's functions, treating it like it has some algorithm, when it doesn't, and it never has and hopefully never will. I see fic reuploads to "gain traction" (not how it works) and people reaching out to find RP partners (breaking TOS) and all sorts of other shit on both sites and it fucking horrifies me. I'm not even that old- I'm eighteen, and I can already tell how fandom has changed for the worst for everyone. Fandom used to be a community. Not consumption.

It's just... sad. Old fandom had PLENTY of fucking problems, and we have problems here too, but at least the positives outweighed the negatives. It's so... mean here, now. Even the happy things are mean-spirited. People treat it as if certain people have invaded this fandom space, spreading horrible opinions and ruining it for everyone, but the truth is is that shipping is always going to be a thing. It's a foundation of fandom- fandom started with housewives in the 1950s writing Star Trek fanfiction. You can never get rid of shipping. You can just interact with what you want to interact with and leave others to mind their own business.

He's... Well. I have mixed feelings about him. I can see why it would be expected that I hate him or something, but I don't. He's been through a lot, and... honestly, I understand where he's coming from and why he feels so angry. I mean, I wouldn't have reacted the same way (at least I don't think) but I can see why he did. Sure, he held me captive, but... we spoke for a bit while I was there and he said some things that let me look into how he thinks, I suppose, and I can't be that angry at him after that. He's just a person like the rest of us, he's had a rough go of things and he lashed out because of it. I think one day after the scars from those chains have faded, I'll be able to forgive him.

I do think he deserves a second chance, though not from me. That's not my responsibility to give him that. If anything, it's Evbo's, he's the one who was forced to help out with the plan, I was merely a bargaining chip.

the stuff going on with ranboo and tubbo’s canonical marriage is so upsetting to see. it’s obviously been brewing for a while, what with the edit war going on in the wiki a while back. i’m glad that people are acknowledging that a canonical marriage between two characters who are minors being romantic isn’t inherently sexual, but it really isn’t the fault of ranboo or his mods. one mod made a mistake, and that shouldn’t have to be dealt with publicly.

the thing is, ranboo’s mods don’t speak for him and his boundaries any more than the fans do. that’s not their job. they don’t represent him. ranboo should have the right to set his own boundaries. in fact, he should have the right to not set his own boundaries if he doesn’t want to. he should be allowed to take the time to decide what he’s comfortable with. and it should be okay if his comfort level changes!

one mod doesn’t speak for ranboo or even all the other mods. they made a mistake and spoke for people they shouldn’t have, but people make mistakes. it’s not a huge deal and it’s not something worth leaping to cancel people over. it sucks that the wiki discord got raided. the fandom should know better than that. the mod isn’t the only one at fault for that.

just be kind and respect other people’s boundaries. let ranboo decide them for himself, and in the meantime, don’t attack people for acknowledging a canon relationship. people don’t get upset about marinette and adrien from miraculous ladybug because they’re minors. this is no different. implying that it is suggests that a relationship can’t be romantic without being sexual or adult, and as someone who’s aspec, that’s kind of uncomfortable. obviously no one means it that way! but it’s important to remember that choosing to see characters’ relationship as platonic when it’s not is valid as long as you’re not forcing that opinion on others who just want to enjoy a canon mlm relationship.

i’ve been in so many fandoms obsessed with shipping and it’s great to be involved in one that isn’t! i always want to explore characters’ relationships, and in most fandoms, that means reading ship fics because you’re starved for content about a character and that’s all there is. it’s nice that the mcyt fandom isn’t like that and respects the fact that ccs are often involved in the fandom, too. but don’t erase a canon mlm relationship. if they end up retconning it and say that they’re uncomfortable with the idea of their characters being in a romantic relationship, respect that, too. like i said, comfort levels and boundaries change, and that is absolutely okay! but they’ve said many times that it’s romantic (including implying it last night!) so if you suddenly have selective hearing, think about why it’s so different from the other canon relationships to you.

the syndicate as a whole i think is very ironically oppressive - the four richest individuals on the server, who command power through wealth and fear rather than respect, teaching people that they should live in a system that they believe is free, in which the members of the syndicate would sit at the top of the natural food chain, and the people they're talking to about their ideas of freedom would not thrive (due to a lack of skill, respect, resources etc).

individual members:

techno is very complex, because i'm conflicted as to whether or not i think he's fully aware that he'd sit at the top of the food chain in an anarchist society and knows he'd thrive over others (because of the dog eat dog comment he made to the badlands boys) or if he genuinely believes that anarchy will free everyone. i think overall his perspective as a character is very sheltered, and i don't think he understands the perspectives of others who may want order and believe that institutions, nations and government could be beneficial to their lives. i think he also misses a lot of context, such as how the original l'manberg was a truly special place - not perfect - but it wasn't oppressive (because it wasn't scared of losing it's power), it didn't force anyone to do anything, and it was built on a foundation of trust that only began to fall apart when eret betrayed them (aka when someone intervened.)

phil's another complex one, because his radicalisation is based a lot on grief and past experiences, but again it is still radicalisation, and a lot of it again seems sheltered. once again i think his character could benefit from the context of how l'manberg was before the elections and how beneficial it was for it's members. i also think he'd be the one to benefit the most from knowing how snowchester properly operates and how tubbo is technically it's leader. i think communication between phil and tubbo specifically could really be an eye opener for his character as to how anarchy isn't beneficial for everyone, and how government/nations aren't inherently oppressive. i see phil as a little more empathetic than techno, especially concerning the difference between phil and ranboo's dynamic vs techno and ranboo's dynamic (in which ranboo is still somewhat fearful of techno - still waiting on ranboo's reaction to learning about techno taking tubbo's second life), and so i hope if that conversation ever comes about, phil can be somewhat understanding that tubbo thrives best in nations because people like him and jack are fearful of powerful individuals because all they've done is cause them grief and take from them, and that doomsday taught them not about anarchy, but about how they should fear the powerful.

ranboo as a character, and this might in part be due to how young he is and his memory issues, is extremely naive. his solutions to problems read about as well as 'i think the thing that would help the most is world peace'. he's very well known for his ideas of not picking sides, and cc!ranboo is very open and admits that his character is a hypocrite in the sense that he may not know at some points that he's choosing a side that can hurt his friends. i think he's definitely naive for believing that the syndicate is capable of stopping conflicts, and i want to see if at some point he's thrown between two sides and his ideas of not picking a side and picking the obvious right side (either ideologically, or it's the one that protects his friends/innocent people) conflict. i also would like to see him build trust with other characters, especially with tommy, because i think the two could benefit from helping each other out with their dream trauma specifically, and because i think tommy's the person who best fits the criteria to help ranboo with the fourth book (not exactly the most morally pure but getting better/still somewhat a good person who stands up to bullshit, unaffiliated with any groups, can keep secrets).

niki i've been very openly critical about as a character, mainly because in stories i operate under the idea that if a character can be omitted from a retelling of the overall story, it shouldn't be there, but this is a roleplay series so that fallacy doesn't really work. she doesn't add much to the syndicate other than my annoyance of it to be honest. her views towards new l'manberg are hypocritical and somewhat aggravating, especially since she left it fairly quickly for someone who fought to get it back in pogtopia - she technically left on two occasions when she made her secret city during tubbo's presidency, and when she left with fundy to found drywaters. she had no reason to be mad at l'manberg as she had no affiliations with it. i also don't really like her 'healing arc', because her version of healing is also 'villain niki', which i fucking despise, because it reads as if her version of healing is turning on her friends and dictating how they should live as if she's not entitled and as if she knows better. genuinely, and i know this may sound overly negative, i don't find any redeeming qualities in her character, and cc!niki needs to either decide whether or not her character is angry and vengeful against people who never wronged her, or soft and kind and healing, because to me those two archetypes conflict a lot. she's the one type of traitor that the fandom subconsciously doesn't even recognise as a traitor, and has decided she doesn't need to redeem herself for how she treated tommy and how she treated her friends in l'manberg.

i see the syndicate overall as a villainous group, which, you can argue all day about how 'there are no good or evil people in the dream smp they're all morally grey' all day, but there are, and even the creators acknowledge it. pretty much all cc's acknowledge the alignment charts, people refer to their character's arcs as villain arcs or hero arcs etc. this doesn't mean that i hate the syndicate, it just means that i see them as morally and functionally in the wrong in comparison to groups like snowchester (and honestly, i think rooting for the heroes has become kind of underrated at this point. i'm a sucker for happy worlds that are good; built on compromise and understanding, what can i say?)
