Amestris Military Uniform
This is the second of my series of long posts about the Amestrian Military. Here, we will be talking about the military uniform, its components and different variations. The information here is mostly coming from the Perfect Guide 3 which has a whole section about the uniform. To see the rest of this meta series check out the Main Post.
The Amestris military requires soldiers to wear a military uniform. The military provides two types of uniforms: regular attire for use during normal times and formal attire for ceremonies and other occasions.
The regular uniform is composed primarily of a jacket, trousers, a skirt, a decorative rope, medals, collar badges, and epaulets.
Tumblr media
The Amestris regular uniform. [1]
Collar badges The jacket's collar has two metal badges on the right side: the national emblem and an occupational emblem representing the soldier’s occupation and affiliation.[1]
The Führer-President (both Bradley and Grumman) is the only one shown to wear three badges (Although Bradley is shown wearing two at times). One of them being the national emblem and the other two being unknown (perhaps representing the Führer's role as both head of the state and the military).
Tumblr media
Mustang's collar badges. The national emblem on the right and the State alchemist's one on the left.[1]

Grumman's (Left) [2] and Bradley's (right) [3] three collar badges.
Merit badges and medals  Medals such as the Special Skills Badge, Military Badge, War Merit Badge, and Seniority Badge are attached to the left chest as a chest badge. A large number of emblems indicates a person's career and accomplishments. Also, medals are usually omitted.[1]
Epaulets A rank insignia is attached to the shoulder, making it possible to tell the rank at a glance. The Amestris military has 15 ranks, starting at the top with the Führer-President, and is identified by the number of stars and color-coded lines. [1]

Formal uniform The regular uniform also serves as a combat uniform, and on occasions such as ceremonies, they wear the formal uniform instead. For the formal attire, they wear a long coat (jacket), leather dress shoes instead of combat boots, a formal hat, a saber, and the awarded medals on their chest. A black sash is also worn during funerals.[1]

In addition to uniforms, the Amestrian military is provided with various items. The supplied items have standardized specifications and types, and can be freely combined and used according to individual preference and ease of use as long as it does not violate military regulations.[1]
Among these items you can find: the black coat, the short hats and berets, combat boots, the winter coat, the inner wear, etc.
Tumblr media
Different types of shirts and T-shirts are provided, including Hawkeye's black turtleneck. [1]
Uniform exceptions The State Alchemists that haven't joined the military as soldiers, seem to be exempt from wearing the military uniform as we see in the case of Edward Elric, Shou Tucker, and Giolio Comanche, who all wear civilian clothes even when visiting the Headquarters. However, they do seem to be required to wear the uniform when deployed in war, as we see both Comanche and Marcoh wearing uniform during Ishval.[4]
Had Bradley deployed Edward to the South, in the war against Aerugo, we could've seen him in uniform.
Doctors and scientists working for the military also seem to be exempt from the uniform. Knox is always shown in his medical scrubs, even in Ishval. Marcoh is the only exception to this, probably due to his status as state alchemist.[4]
Variations There are a few noteworthy variations of the Amestris military uniform, the Military Police uniform and the snow combat uniform being the most glaring.
Snow combat uniform When fighting on snow, soldiers wear white coats that blend with the snow, winter hats that protect their ears from the cold, thick leather gloves, and even goggles and masks to protect their faces.
Tumblr media
Typical amestrian snow combat uniform.[1]
The military police The military police wear black uniforms so that they can be easily distinguished from the regular soldiers. Since they also belong to the military, their uniforms are the same shape and material except for the color.[1] They do not wear epaulets. It's unknown if and how they're ranked.
Tumblr media
The military police black uniform.[5]
While this is not explicitly mentioned anywhere, the military personnel in command of the military police are seen wearing an armband on the left arm, seemingly to identify them as belonging to the MP branch of the military.
Tumblr media
Colonel Henry Douglas wearing the Military Police armband. [6]
Tumblr media
The unnamed 1st lieutenant in charge of Maria Ross' interrogation wearing the Military Police's armband. [6]
Other variations Two other unexplained variations of the uniform are what appears to be the City Troops and the Civilian Employees.
City Troops Aside from the High Command Officers, all the foot soldiers the Eastern and Briggs troops fight during the Promised Day are wearing berets. They're identified by Olivier Armstrong as the “Central City Troops”. [7] Furthermore, throughout the story you can observe a few soldiers wearing berets both in Central City and in East City. These soldiers always appear to be doing guard duty.
Tumblr media
The Central City Troops during the Promised Day. [7]
It seems to me that the soldiers wearing berets belong to their corresponding city's troops and are in charge of the military security of the city (not the civilian one, that is the job of the MP). Thus they are the ones to respond when Central HQ security is breached during the Promised Day.
Civilian Employees The other unexplained uniform variation is for the division that Sheska belongs to. They wear the same uniform as the regular soldiers with the exception of an insignia on the left arm and a lack of decorative ropes, chest medals, and epaulets (much like the military police it is unknown if and how they're ranked).
Tumblr media
Sheska's uniform arm badge. [8]
Tumblr media
Arm badge of the Central City telephone receptionist.[9]
The personnel wearing these insignias are all women (that we see on screen). They don't appear to have combat training, we see at least one of them scared and being protected by a female soldier (without the insignia) during the Promised Day.[10]
Tumblr media

It is my opinion that these women are civilian employees. Aside from their lack of rank and combat training the biggest hint towards this comes from the real world. The Imperial Japan Civilian Employees wore the military uniform with an insignia on the left arm. A red five points star that Arakawa probably wanted to avoid using, so as not to have it confused for a transmutation circle.

This is far from the only instance in which the real world influences the story and the symbolism. That's why the next post will be dedicated to the real world references in the Amestris Military.

life and death (steddie)
this one is inspired by this fanart by lazylittledragon of Steve and Eddie as Life and Death having dinner together at a restaurant good omens style that gave me so many brainworms I immediately went to go write the first half of this. That’s as far as the inspiration goes, though, I took the actual content in a very different direction
Eddie’s no linguist, but he’s pretty sure when people came up with the phrase “Life is a bitch,” this isn't what they meant.
Unfortunately, Life happens to be just that. A massive bitch.
(Perhaps even more unfortunately, he’s also an incredibly attractive one.)
He doesn’t remember being born.
It was at The Beginning Of All Things, so he thinks he can be forgiven for that. Frankly, with all the universes he has to travel daily, it’s a miracle he even remembers yesterday. Nancy would argue that he doesn’t, since yesterday is a useless concept to beings who exist outside of time and space, but what does she know?
He does remember meeting Life, though.
He’d looked him up and down, or as much as one could when they were simply a vague concept with no form or real identity yet. Eddie (who was not yet Eddie) had eyed him back just as warily.
“So,” Life said, “you’re the other guy?”
“Looks like.”
“Hmm.” He gave him a single dismissive look, before casting his eyes down on a universe that was still being formed. “Well, try not to fuck up my things too much.” And before Eddie could snap back that he would fuck up whatever he damn well pleased, he was gone.
It had set a precedent.
“Hello,” Eddie says, kneeling in front of a young woman. Too young, far too young for this, but that's the way it goes. “What’s your name?”
She blinks at him silently. Around them, doctors rush around, shouting instructions that get more frantic by the minute. They ignore his presence in the center of the room.
Finally, the woman licks her lips. “Cass,” she says. “My name is Cass.”
“Well, hello Cass.” He smiles comfortingly. “Do you know who I am?”
“Should I?”
“You tell me.” He straightens up and holds out a hand. After a moment's hesitation, she takes it. The doctors get even louder, but it doesn’t matter. A long, singular beep is lost among the chaos.
She stumbles for a moment when she stands, but he holds her steady. She gasps when she turns around.
“Ah, he says, “you’re getting it now.”
“So this is it then?” She asks, staring down at her own body in the hospital bed.
“In a way,” he shrugs. “Your life as you know it is over, but there’s more to see.”
“Like Heaven?”
“Not quite. Think of it as…another round on the carousel.”
“Rebirth?”
“There you go.” He squeezes her hand encouragingly. “Doesn’t sound so bad, does it?”
“I don’t know. Will it suck?”
“I don’t know,” he echoes. “You’ll have to tell me when we see each other again.”
She looks at him appraisingly. “You’re Death, then.”
He lets go of her hand to sweep into a bow. “At your service, my lady.”
“You know, I always assumed you’d be more of a dick.”
“People always do.”
“You’re still wearing black though.”
“What, you don’t think it suits me?” He grins when she laughs. It’s true, though. He thinks black looks a lot better on him than the other colors he’s worn.
They chat a bit more. He’s always eager to know about the lives he takes, about the experiences and the jobs and the dreams they had. It makes him a bit sad, but he’s been doing this since before this earth was a speck of atoms and dust. He’s had a long time to come to terms with his job.
Besides, it’s not like it’s really the end. He’ll see her again, be it under a new name and new life. She’s excited about it too, even if she’s a tad bit wary. He understands that.
“Wait,” she says, as they’re finally getting ready to go. “My baby. Will she be okay?”
Eddie looks up, and meets the eyes of one of the nurses. He’s in perfunctory yellow scrubs, hazel eyes peering over his mask. He raises an expectant eyebrow at Eddie before his attention goes back to the baby in his arms. A silent demand to move along.
“Yeah,” Eddie says, watching him, “she’ll be just fine.”
“Is the baby going to be okay?” Eddie asks, depositing a small, glowing marble into a tall vase filled with them.
“Which baby?”
He frowns, even though it’s a fair question. There are a million babies he could be asking about. He gestures to the marble on top of the pile, a little too sarcastic even for him.
“Ah, Cassandra Revis, age 32.” Steve picks up the soul, turning it consideringly in his hands. “I talked to her partner. She’ll be missed.” His eyes glow the same gold color as the marbles, and he says, “The baby’s name is Delilah. She lives a good life. You’ll collect her when she’s 78.”
Eddie nods. 78 is a good, long number for humans. One that doesn’t make his technically-nonexistent heart hurt.
“Why couldn’t you do that yourself?”
“Oh, I could,” he answers cheerfully. “I just wanted to make you do it.”
He doesn’t say he can only see when they’re taken, not what kind of life they live. Steve already knows.
Every so often, they fuck.
It’s not a thing, unless you count the multiple instances where it has absolutely crossed the threshold from lapse of judgment to this is something that will happen again. It shouldn’t have even happened the first time, let alone the times after it. Or the times in the future, but Eddie tries not to think about that.
In his defense, having sex with mortals kills them. Where else is he supposed to get his rocks off? There’s only a select few Beings he would fuck. Robin would rather die, Chrissy is nice, but usually a little too sweet for him. Nancy is always good, but not always what he’s looking for. And Jonathan and Argyle are fine, but they’re really too into each other to pay much attention to him. He loves being the center of attention. Thrives off it, even. And Steve, for all his faults, is excellent at pretending to have complete and utter focus on his partners. As if there’s not billions of different versions of them across this universe alone at that exact point, collecting and giving. As if the only thing that matters is them alone together.
So, yeah. They fuck, and he’s not ashamed of it. He enjoys it, in fact! He’s not too proud to say that. Just…never where Steve can hear and get that stupidly sexy smug look on his face. The one that makes Eddie want to punch him. As if either of them can be harmed.
The thing they don’t talk about. The thing Eddie avoids thinking about. One day, he’ll take them all. Dustin, Max, Lucas, El, Will, Mike, Erica. Nancy, Jonathan, Argyle, Robin, Chrissy. Steve. One by one, he’s going to have to collect them all, and then he’ll be alone in an empty universe. However short that time is, it terrifies him. He’s never been alone before.
Steve will be the last to go. Maybe that’s why he can’t tear himself away.
(“Is it weird that I’m kind of looking forward to it?” Steve asked once, quietly. They’d been naked, curled together in Steve’s bed. Or, more accurately, the bed Steve conjured for this purpose. His room was bright, in an unnatural way that reminded Eddie of a star. Not that it mattered. If they wanted to sleep all they had to do was close their eyes and will it.
“Looking forward to what?” Eddie asked. “Round four?”
He can feel the eye roll across dimensions. “Dying, numbskull. It’s basically the only thing I haven’t experienced. We know when it’s gonna happen, how it’ll happen, but everything after that is just…blank to me. I can’t see the next Creation.”
His throat feels tight. “That eager to get rid of me?”
“As if you’re not gonna be right there when we meet again,” he huffs. It’s true. Steve comes first, because you can’t have Death without Life. And at the end of Everything, once he’s taken Life, it’ll be the catalyst for a new Beginning. They know all the steps. It’s been ingrained into their very existence since they began.
But they won’t remember this. They’ll be different iterations of themselves. No memories, no knowledge of what happened in the universe before. Just copies with the instructions downloaded into their brains.
He’s been spending too much time on Earth.
“It won’t be the same.”
That makes Steve pause. “No,” he acknowledges quietly. “It won’t be the same.”

The Dreams of Hyacinth 17
First / Previous / Next
After Eastern had gotten up and had some coffee and gotten dressed, Nick signaled Yon through the cybernetic link. She told them to ride the elevator down to the twentieth floor and she'd meet them there.
When they exited onto the twentieth floor, Nick was shocked. It looked like a hospital. Bright, clean lights, white walls, tile floor and a bustle of activity. They stepped out into the lobby, looking confused when Nick noticed Yon striding towards them. "Nick! Eastern! Please, come with me." She lead them past a guard who nodded at them, and further into the building.
Yon lead them further into the building and past operating theaters that were a bustle of activity and into a small suite of recovery rooms. Nick was watching everyone as they went past. People who looked like doctors, people who looked like nurses, support staff and guards were all around. All were wearing scrubs or a uniform that was in the Houndstooth colors. As one turned to talk to another Nick saw a flash of silver. He tried to check the neck of the next person he saw, and yes, another flash of silver and 10 tiny ports.
As Nick was lead around the hospital, his knees started feeling week and his sense of things was sliding away from him.
Everyone here had cybernetic implants.
Selkirk was in the first room on the left, sitting up and reading her pad. She had a large white bandage behind her head, but other than that seemed herself. "There you two are! I thought I was going to have to come and find you. She looked up at Yon, "You kept them in line? They didn't agree to anything stupid while I was under?"
Yon laughed. "No, they didn't agree to anything. We had a celebratory drink, I went to bed, and I assume they went to bed right after."
Nick nodded, distracted. "Yup, that's what we did." He turned away from the doorway and looked at Selkirk. "Sel, are you cleared to leave?"
Yon spoke up. "We're just waiting for the charge nurse to approve her leaving. Should be any time now. In fact, let me duck into the hall and I'll see if I can find her now. You three wait here." Yon stepped into the hall and started walking towards the lobby.
Nick sat down next to Selkirk and gestured for Eastern to do the same. She sat on the opposite side of the bed. "Eastern, Selkirk, did you notice anything odd about this place?"
Eastern sighed looked at Nick. "You mean other than the fact that it's a whole hospital off the books that seems to belong to Houndstooth?"
Selkirk flicked her ears in. "Or the fact that everyone here has cybernetic implants?"
"Yes! Everyone here has implants! What's up with that?" Nick was glancing back towards the door as they talked, seemingly worried that someone was going to walk in on them at any moment.
Selkirk shrugged. "Um'reli told me about it. Raaden is big on cybernetics. She thinks its a way to get Builder like abilities to everyone without the danger of the nanotechnology. She's trying to push the state of the art. Getting the implants for humans is no longer the risk that the AIs say it is. Very rarely do humans suffer rejection or get infections." Selkirk moved in the bed and winced at the motion. "K'laxi physiology is such though that the implants had to be different. Mine is the latest model according to Um'reli. I have to take some antibiotics for a week, but they say that should be it."
Nick looked up suddenly. "Wait, if everyone here has cybernetics, then is everyone talking to eachother through their implants?"
Eastern looked thoughtful. "Probably yes. Why don't you connect and see if there's a general channel Nick?"
Nick sat back in his chair and touched his implants with his mind. A direct connection was faster but he and - he assumed - everyone else had wireless implants installed so that they could interact with people and devices without having to be physically connected. Nick activated the radio and heard static. That was to be expected though, it made sense that the connections were encrypted. Raaden had given him keys when they shook hands, he applied her keys to the signal and tried again.
It was chaos.
It was a din of noise.
It was the loudest thing Nick had ever heard.
Everyone was talking at once. To each other, to themselves, to nobody. There was so much talking. It was too much! Nicks eyes rolled back and he fell off the chair.
"Nick! Nick!" Eastern was standing over him. Nick was on the floor. Blinking he sat up and waved Eastern off. "I'm all right now. I just... got overwhelmed."
"What happened Nick?" Selkirk looks over the edge of her bed worried.
"I connected to the cybernetic comms channel. It was... overwhelming. Everyone was talking at once, making noise. They were all talking over each other. I couldn't understand a thing."
Eastern frowned. "That doesn't make sense. Nobody would be able to communicate that way. People have to have their conversations in their own channels, or with their own encryption. There has to be a way to connect just to one or two other people." She looked at Nick and Selkirk. "Nick, what did you do?"
"When I connected, it was just static. I expected that after talking with Sunny, so I applied the encryption keys I received and-"
"Encryption keys?"
"Yeah, from Raaden. When we shook hands, she gave me her encryption keys. She didn't give them to you?"
"No Nick, I didn't get anything. She didn't mention it either. Are you sure you were given them?"
"Well I certainly don't know how to steal them, that's for sure. I imagine that the Empress would have some pretty serious firewalls. Regardless, she gave them to me and she knew we're together, so here." Nick tossed a copy of the keys to Eastern and Selkirk. They accepted the file and Eastern, after seeing Nick's reaction, connected to the audio channel, wincing. Her eyes widened and she looked at both of them. "Nick, these aren't just her encryption keys. They're everyone's encryption keys."
Nick rubbed the back of his neck where the access ports are and winced at the memory. "So, did Raaden make a mistake? Did she give me the wrong keys on purpose?"
Eastern frowned. "She doesn't seem like the type to make a mistake like that. I think she gave you these keys on purpose."
Selkirk's eyes flashed blue as she examined the keys. "Nick, is this a test? Did she give you the keys to the kingdom to see what you'd do?"
"How should I know Sel? She just shook my hand and I felt the tingle of keys being transmitted. I only knew what it was because Sunny gave me her keys and I remembered the feeling."
"So what should we do with them?"
Nick shrugged. "Use them. She gave them to us. Maybe it's for a reason. Come on, Queenie mentioned how we could isolate conversations into groups. Let's try and grouping the conversations to reduce noise and we can chat, and be able to chat with others."
Nick, Eastern and Selkirk spent maybe ten minutes creating a private group for them while also sorting the conversations they could find into separate groups so they wouldn't get overwhelmed when they tapped into the general channel.
Okay, can you hear me now?
Yes, I can hear you fine.
Yeah, no problems.
A new presence was felt in their heads as they spoke. Interesting. You did use the keys. And you were able to sort and set everyone else up into little groups so you weren't overwhelmed with the noise? Did you tell Yon about the keys or did you just take the initative?
Nick gasped out loud. Empress Raaden? Uh, no we didn't tell Yon. I just realized they were keys for everyone a little while ago. Why did you give me the encryption keys for everything?
Mostly to see what you'd do with them. You do come to us from a... let's say... less official background, though I do note you kept yourself to mild thievery, fencing, and smuggling. Nothing too bad in the grand scheme of things, but still Yon had some concerns. I'm pleased to see that you were able to use the keys to set up what you needed. There was a feeling of her looking around, examining the work they did. I must say, this is tidy work. Well done. We should take note of what you did here and show others as they come online. Everyone finds the general channel... a bit overwhelming when they first connect. Splitting it like this into groups could reduce that stress.
Nick noticed he was feeling proud from Raaden complimenting them. As soon as he noticed it, he mentally took a step back. Uh, Raaden? Should we delete the encryption keys?
No, I don't see any need for that. Keep them for now. I'll be interested to see what you do with them. There was a feeling of her smiling slyly at them, and her presence left.
Nick disconnected and looked around. Yon was back, waiting patiently. "Oh, Hi Yon. We were just talking with Sel over her new connection and said hi to Raaden."
Yon blinked. "She reached out to you directly?"
Nick nodded. "She wanted to see how we were getting on and making sure that everything was all set on our end." As he spoke, Nick marveled at how easily the lie came. A part of him wondered why he was keeping the fact that they had universal encryption keys from Yon. Luckily, Eastern and Selkirk picked up on what he was saying immediately.
"Everything went great Yon." Selkirk gestured to her bed. "Can I leave now?"
"Oh yes. I have your discharge paperwork. You're released and should take a day or two of rest. We'll go check out the simulator now. You don't have to connect if you don't feel up for it, but I think Nick and Eastern should get started."
Nick stood from his seat next to Selkirk's bed. "Come on then, let's go see what it's actually like to be a starship." He looked back at Selkirk as she slowly got out of bed. "You sure you're good to go Sel? We can take you back up to Raaden's penthouse and you can lounge in luxury another day or two."
Selkirk flicked her ears and swished her tail. "No. I'm sick of laying around. I'll be fine. Just give me a moment." She winced. "I'm all stiff."
They followed Yon through the hospital and back towards the elevator. As they walked through, Nick saw that yes, everyone at the hospital had cybernetics installed.
This time, Yon took them higher in Hyacinth One, to a few floors below Raaden's penthouse. They entered an anonymous office looking place with a small room of cubicles and a person at a desk outside the elevator. Yon glanced at her and her eyes flashed blue. The person at the desk's eyes also flashed blue, she nodded and they walked by her. Nick glanced at the back of her head as they passed, and she had implants as well.
Yon took them through the office, past a few rows of workers in the cubicles, and as Nick walked by, every one of them had implants. Some where working on physical pads and stations, while others just sat in their chair, leaning back with their eyes closed. Nick peeked into the general channel here and while it wasn't as chaotic as the hospital channel, there was a bustle of cybernetic activity.
As they left the cube farm, they passed through a large, metal door with a rubber seal and into a room with six large... domes was the only way Nick could describe it. Six domes with a rotating cover on them. Three were open and as they looked inside, Nick saw a chair very similar to Queenie's chair back in her shop, just newer looking.
Selkirk looked around for a place to sit. "I'm not feeling it today Yon, moving from the hospital to here knocked me out. Do you mind if I either sit while they try it out or head back up to the penthouse?"
"That fine of course!" Yon's eyes flashed and someone entered the room right away. "Please escort Selkirk back up to the penthouse so she can get some rest."
They nodded. "Of course Yon." They looked over at Selkirk. "You don't look so good. Do you want me to find you a wheelchair?"
Selkirk swished her tail. She looked irritated. "No, I'm fine. I just need to take it easy. Let's head up and I'll head to bed." Selkirk and the aide - slowly - made their way back to the elevator.
Nick watched them go. I'm worried about Selkirk.
Eastern flinched at the message but tried to not react otherwise. Why? You think she's got complications?
She seems to be having a harder recovery than we did.
Well, Raaden and Yon said there had only been like 6 K'laxi with the surgery.
Did you notice how every other human here has it though? I'd think they would have had an easier time.
Nick, it's not like K'laxi just have human brains inside their furry heads. Their physiology is completely different. I'm not surprised it's taking them a while. After this, we'll head up and check on her okay? We'll get some dinner and take it easy. Watch something on our pads and get an early night.
Nick pursed his lips. Okay. We'll check out the sim and head back up.
That's the spirit!
Nick spoke aloud. "Okay Yon, what do we do?"
Yon clicked a button on one of the domes, and it spun to face them and the entry appeared. "Just get into the chair, and lean back enough for it to sense your jacks. It will do the rest." She stepped back. "Go ahead, connect up."
Nick moved to get into the seat. He stopped and looked at Yon. "Yon, were you ever a Starship?"
Yon made a face. "That's a little rude to ask, Nick."
"I'm sorry, but I was wondering. You're with Raaden on this project to give everyone the ability to pilot - I had wondered if you had ever done it before."
Yon sighed. "No Nick. I never had. I've had some simulator time, but that's it. I never knew the right people to get a starship."
Nick raised an eyebrow but said nothing. He got into the chair. It was actually quite comfortable. The cushion soft and supportive. Clearly, it was designed to be sat in for long periods. He swung his legs into the supports and leaned back. As he did, he felt the chair mold to him and start to gently lower him. At the same time there was a light whine as the cables snaked out and sought the jacks on the back of his head. With a audible snap, they connected, he tasted blue for a moment and...
He was a starship. First / Previous / Next
Hey all! I know I've said this before and I'll probably say it again, but I'm going to have to slow down posting. I really like the cadence of 5 days a week, but it leaves no time to improve drafts and do the housekeeping of all the *gestures* other stuff of writing. I'll never polish anything or set up a Patreon or talk to editors or any of that if I'm scrambling to make 2500 word posts 5 days a week.

“What is it?” Angus asked, wondering what the results would be from the tests.
“Well, where do I even begin? First of all, there is the issue with Angus’s soul. As he mentioned before, he used Anti’s soul in order to keep his soul stable, when he was being forgotten by the community. In order to make sure his soul wouldn’t break, he used something else to keep it stabilized. But now… it appears that the Anti souls have been jostled loose…”
Angus gasped as he heard that, now that he thought about it, his connection with Posi and Nega felt a bit… off. But he had so many other things to do that he didn’t notice it until now. “That… might have been me.” Anti admitted. Everyone turned to him for more answers. “When Angus found me in that dream state and freed me, I could sense my souls in him. So I tried to get them back from him and… in the end I didn’t.”
“That would explain why I look like my former self now.” Angus noted.
“It’s much worse than that. Without taking on the appearance of the Souls true form, you are also no longer protected.” Henrik added.
“Okay… but, what about Anti?” Angus asked, looking over at the Glitch.
“Well… that is a different story. But… let me explain!” Henrik went over to a large white board, placing a picture of a white orb surrounded by light blue. “Here, this is an example of what a soul usually looks like. Inside the very center, the white spot is called the core. It more or less makes up the very foundation of who you are. Traits, personality, memories, all that stuff. The aura that surrounds the core is what we call the essence, which helps to protect your core. It also is where all the magic you have comes from. Souls also tend to be color coated, usually to represent what the person is like. My soul is a light shade of blue, typically associated with wisdom, but the light shade shows the caring personality I have. And it goes well with the blue scrubs I tend to wear, showing my status as a doctor.” He slowly removed his own soul and replaced it with another image. “This… is Anti’s soul at the moment.” Everyone looked to see a black hole that was surrounded by a white aura, with the hole having glitched spots.
Anti’s face paled as he saw that image of his soul, shuddering.
Even Angus was fearful. “Ohhh god…”
“T-That’s Anti’s soul?” Chase asked.
Henrik looked somber. “I’m afraid so, well what is left of it. Despite your core being gone, you have managed to retain yourself, but clearly having your soul taken has affected you physically. It appears that the essence around your soul is what is currently holding your form together.” As Henrik explained, Anti held himself as he shook. Angus noticed this, seeing how scared he was getting.
“That’s good though, right? It means that Anti is still alive with it!” Chase pointed out.
“Sure, for now at least. But essence comes from the very core of the soul, which creates the magic itself. Hence why Angus’s soul, despite it being broken, is still together because the magic from the Anti souls are keeping it from falling apart.” As Henrik explained, he then showed Angus’s soul next to Anti’s, which was an orb that had multiple cracks surrounded by a green aura. “This is Angus’s soul currently, and as you can see, it is very fractured and fragile. Especially with the Anti souls loose, he is left unprotected.
“Hhhhhhhh….” Angus shook as he listened to his dad.
“So… what does this mean, Hen?” Chase asked, worried about the end result.
“For Angus, because he is no longer protected, if he gets badly injured… no, not just that. If we do not do something soon, his soul will fall apart on its own. As for Anti… while the essence is keeping him alive for now, without a core it will eventually run dry and if that happens… his body will not be able to keep itself together. The two of them… will die.”
I am back again with doing more screenshots for my fanfictions. Again, sorry it took so long. But, I managed to get one done, finally! This imagine if from Chapter 3 of Soulscape revise, which you can check out here: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13872298/1/Soulscape-CosmoK13-edition Also, the quality is different if you were wondering. That's because I used procreate on my IPad instead of FireAlpaca on my computer. I'm trying to use Procreate as there are more options and easier to use. Let me know if you like this quality better or not, I would appreciate the feedback.

Can you tell us about hospital scrubs? I think there are some different colors for different jobs, like doctors wear green and nurses wear blue or something like that, but is that how it works all the time? What about in your LU in Healthcare au? Do they work the same way there, too? Don’t some nurses wear long sleeved shirts underneath their scrubs?
So it depends on the hospital and even on the units within the hospital. Some places do specify that certain colors are worn by certain roles (at the ER where I drop off patients when I’m doing Squad duty, the doctors wear grey and the nurses wear dark blue… weirdly enough the techs wear grey too which kind of defeats the purpose because then you get confused but whatever). Others don’t - my ICU doesn’t specify so I have three sets of scrubs that I wear and they’re all different colors - one outfit has a t shirt that the unit gave us for free so I don’t even wear a scrub top then.
Some nurses do wear long sleeve shirts under their scrubs! Almost looks like Link wearing an undershirt with his tunic :) I’ve done it once or twice but I get too warm, also don’t want nastiness on the sleeves so I usually keep them rolled up anyway if I do wear one.
I have a post about what the boys wear! Here’s the link :)

Tumblr media
I don’t think there is anything in this story so far that does not infuriate me on some level. I don’t think there is a shred of intelligence left in these characters because all of them make me incredibly frustrated. What even is a clever story but characters withholding information and acting dumb just because.
Jocelyn and Clary arrive at the Beth Israel hospital to see the devil baby.
Tumblr media
It is an incapability to describe any eyes without telling which color they are. Every now and then is fine, almost every time is an outright obsession, an inane try to fill the pages with useless words and make your prose seem anything but basic hogwash.
Tumblr media
These several women, probably nurses, would most likely wear scrubs if they were, probably, nurses or doctors. I don’t understand this hesitation in the narrative to name things clearly, leaving no ambiguity. Who does it serve that Clary is not sure whether or not these women are nurses (or doctors or secretaries or custodians)? What narrative value is there to have these ambiguous women just moving around? It does not help describe the busy hospital or give a convincing image of the environment you are trying to portray.
→ There was a big information desk behind which several nurses/members of hospital staff were milling. Sings pointed the way to the ICU, Radiation...
Also these women milling about is not related to the next clause, so no semicolon.
Tumblr media
Yet Clary is perfectly capable of recognizing Catarina as a nurse. What about Catarina is so different to the women swarming the information desk that Clary could not make the distinction?
Clary has also a YA protagonist moment with a glass door where she once again narrates how Jocelyn is beautiful and she is not and boohoo, I don’t care. Catarina then returns to them after dumping the old man somewhere.
Tumblr media
She’d learned this in the first book of the series. This is the fourth. Just stop with these clumsy reminders. The people who begin to read the series from the fourth book deserve to be confused about warlock marks.
Apparently, in The Shadowhunter Codex, it is said that glamours are the simplest and most widely and extensively used magic in existence. The story frequently refers to glamours that hide the Shadow World from the mundane eyes, but it has never indicated that warlocks, for example, would rather use contacts or disguises to hide their warlock marks? Wouldn’t contacts, as is exampled here, be more laborious than a simple spell?
Be as it may, it seems that this bit here is just explaining the obvious.
Tumblr media
See the first point.
“The warlock woman” seems like there might be a chance that readers forget that Catarina is, in fact, a warlock and also a woman. Just call her by her name.
Clary is offended that Catarina took no part in the 10 minute war and instead stood watch over one of the most important spell books to ever exist.
Tumblr media
Barely, when the author herself has downplayed its importance by making Clary say: “I don’t know. I mean, the battle barely went on for ten minutes"
Tumblr media
Saying it like this it seems Clary gets flushed because she’s focusing on her own renown, not that she’s taken Catarina’s words about acting high-and-mighty to heart.
Tumblr media
See the two earlier points.
They go see the devil baby and it has claws and completely black eyes. Jocelyn is reminded of Jonathan and leaves in distress, and Catarina gives Clary a piece of fabric from the devil baby. Clary then comes up with another kind of tracking rune.
Tumblr media
Talk to him yourself? He’s your friend.
We cut to the bar where Simon’s band is having a gig.
Tumblr media
Why do these less than inessential girlfriend characters even have names? It’s like a strange language that means nothing and amounts to nothing and is worth, essentially, nothing. Kirk and Matt are no better, they have no faces, no personalities other than those that are only extensions of Eric (that amounts to also very little).
Tumblr media
Magnus is wearing something “funny” again, haha. Ahaha. Ha.
Cut to the Institute where Luke and Maryse are waiting on Raphael to appear to discuss the problem of dead Shadowhunters.
Tumblr media
Again, it doesn’t. It seems like an attempt to provoke a response from the Shadowhunters against the Downworlders. The flames are being fanned against all of the Downworlders because of this pattern of dead Shadowhunters. Is Clare trying to insinuate that the Downworlders are so keen to suck up to the Nephilim that they’re about to fight against themselves to prove their innocence to the Clave?
They ask Raphael about Camille and after prodding, Raphael spills the beans about Camille.
Tumblr media
Everyone came from London. There is only England, United States, and Idris.
Tumblr media
I, on the other hand, am directly opposite to vaguely amused. See, how funny I am, explaining my jokes. It is also pointless to point out something that we can see didn’t happen or Luke didn’t do. He did not mention Simon, there is no needs to point out he did not mention Simon.
Cut back to the gig and teenage horniness that makes me uncomfortable.
Tumblr media
Can we not.
Clary then sees Jace and forgets to stand up to Simon as his friend.
Tumblr media
Dressed like a mundane as in not being in gear? Just normal clothes? Like the ones they wear normally when not wearing gear? Jace being dressed “like a mundane” sounds like the Shadowhunters have their own fashion and clothes that somehow normally separated them from the mundanes. Which they don’t.
Tumblr media
She couldn’t help but try and justify why she even brings it up in the first place.
→ ...and swaying a little to the music. The first time she’d ever seen Jace had been in a club, and he’d watched him...”
Just do it.
Tumblr media
I haven’t counted how many times Jace’s tired appearance has been brought up or described in detail, but at this point, I feel like it has been enough. Especially about his facial bones protruding.
→ Up close, he looked beyond tired, as if he hadn’t slept in days.
But as always, we haven’t yet caroused enough with Jace’s exhaustion and Torment.
Tumblr media
Can’t believe why everyone thinks he is going to break up with Clary and right after behaving the way why people think he is going to break up with Clary. How self-centered can you get? But of course, this is not to count against Jace but garner sympathy because we all know, in intimate detail, that he’d rather not be anywhere if Clary isn’t there. This is dumb and annoying.
Tumblr media
→ though Simon wasn’t sure the audience knew Eric wasn’t joking.
The rest is pointless and not funny.
Simon is then experiencing the side effects of not feeding for a long time.
Tumblr media
And he is like, so smart. So intelligent. Nothing else could be the reason but the obvious poisoning when he has not ingested a thing. Simon escapes to the backstage and Maureen, of course, follows. Simon then snacks uncontrollably on Maureen and the chapter ends and I am glad.

Dreamt last night
It started with a band practice but i lost my keys, then my phone and wallet, then my backpack. I also lose my car or where it's parked. Tim is there but homeless. Angelas mom called me to ssk about recycling. Then the pta moms had random surprises snd mine was a loaded mashed potato pie to the face
Somehow that bleeds into the second dream. Im in a hospital having brought a child to the emergency room from the school. Theres a dance showcase of patients and i try to get the name of the disabled group because they were really good snd i know watching them would make my sister cry.
I try to check on the girl i brought in and the nurses all want me to get dressed in medical garb to go into surgery with them. Its like theyve chosen me to see what happens to this girl. The scrubs they give me arent normal. The first pair comes out of a container like clorox wipes. Next they give me a paper gown like im a patient. Then theres an over shirt layer thats like a thick rubber spiderweb or chainmail. Finally they give me new shoes which are also like rubber that wraps around my feet somehow. Think the plastic rings that a six pack of soda comes in. You cut it so the turtles dont die. But that goes on your feet and around your toes.
I follow the nurses into several surgery prep rooms. Sometimes the room is like a locker room, sometimes its a conference room. Several times a nurse will stop me and adjust my clothes and tell me how lucky i am to be chosen. I start to worry that i may be the one they operate on, and not a participant or observer. I get uneasy and feel a sinister undertone to all of this. All of the other nurses and doctors have regular scrubs and running shoes on, but im in this weird ritual garb. They all chitchat normally with each other "oh she broke up with her bf" "oh she wears black eyeliner, this many shades, you could never make that work girl" etc.
Eventually we move into this large theater space, like a movie theater, but all the seats are different sizes and shapes but all very plush and teal or turquoise. The nurses i was with had assigned seats and i am unsure where IM supposed to go, so i just pick a seat at the end that had a single arm rest and had a higher seat than the chair next to it.
As the projector starts a movie, its different doctors and officials giving reports on situations. Some are medical situations. Some sound more like military operations. Very confused, i want to ask someone whats going on but they are TRANSFIXED on the screen. Almost religiously. I am too afraid to interupt or distract anyone
On the screen an older woman appears and is talking about how 4 seats of chosen members will now appear. Three of the other nurses i was with have their seats glow and they stand up and solemnly walk forward. The random seat i chose also lights up and starts to vibrate. There must be a mistake, i was just supposed to be an observer! Theres no one i can try to talk to, and i walk forward with the others.
Spaced apart from the other theater seats, there are four larger chairs with personal screens in front of them. These chairs are like lounge chairs. They recline and are long enough to go over your head and also have a foot rest, like a recliner. They are a deep maroon color. I follow the others lead and climb into one and tap the personal screen that is now at lap-level in front of me. The chair reclines slowly at first, and then returns to an upright position and then starts to recline again. Each time it reclines it goes a little bit further and each time it returns, it folds my head towards my feet. At a point the recline starts to break at an angle along my back. So now im being folded on one extereme head backwards towards my feet, bent at my spine, and then folded inwards head towards my toes. This is also speeding up and getting so fast my arms are flailing with the g forces. Im worried this is NOt what im supposed to be doing so i beg the screen to stop and take a look around. The other chosen sre being flung around like i was and looking back st the theater, the other people are looking at ME expectantly.
I resign and activate my recliner again and start the process over. At the height of the cycle, where we are being violently folded inwards and stretched backwards like a medieval torture, a sharp point comes up and stabs into my spine. I feel my conscious fade and rise up, like an out of body experience
The next awareness i have, i am inside the screen possibly? Im a long, tall white figure, possibly mechanical. I can sense the other four chosen are also here. They are nearby but i cant see them. They are also in mech forms but each form is different based on their psyche. We are floating in the air, far below us is an ocean. We are in the middle of some sort of debris field, as theres also floating panels and walls and just junk lazily floating or hovering in the air all around us. I sense the closest nurse/woman to me begin to move forward, so i urge my mech forward as well. Looking in between the walls and beams slowly passing in front of me, i can perceive another figure far ahead of us. They are closer to the ocean below us, and their mech figure is brown and black. Before i realize it, they shoot a laser at me. It hits my mech in the shoulder and i begin to fall out of the air and towards the water.
Briefly taken out of the projection/vision, im shocked back to my recliner, which has stopped moving. My shoulder burns as i realize it feels like i actually got shot by a laser.
Looking to my other chosen, they have reclined to a horizontal laying position, with their screens hovering an arms length above their eyes. In all of our laps a sort of controller has been placed. But the controller is wide and flat and rubbery like those figet toys you pop the bubbles in. On the controller itself there are two dpads near each thumb, as well as thumbsticks, and each side has 4-6 face buttons as well. I pick up this controller and lean back into my chair resuming the vision.
Catching my mech self before i hit the water, i move upwards to give my partner some backup. They are locked in a firefight with the tan/brown tank figure that previously shot me. Because of all the debris my partner cant get a clear shot, but has cover herself so she isnt getting torn up.
Perhaps the enemy thought i was dead, or was too focused on my partner, but i accelerate as fast as i can to sneak up close and then spin and slash into the enemy. I dont know when or how i got a weapon, but in my right hand i have a long sword, but its more like one of those giant white windmill blades. My left shoulder is still damaged, but now it has a mid size gun/rifle it. Is this gundam? Are we gundams? What was the medical part? Are we not doing surgery?
My partner pushes forward to rendezvous with the other two white figures that are part of our chosen mission. I follow suit. Together the four us clear out a handful of remaining tanks and when the area seems calm enough, we are allowed to fade back into our bodies.
Coming to in my real body, the theater is politely applauding us abd the person on the large projector is beaming down on us as well. They congratulate us and as the four of us to move into the next area. This long rectangular room is bright white but theres so many medical instruments and machines along the walls and interior that the room has a dark blue glow, like light hitting a clear plastic straw or tube.
We are led in a circle around the room, with one of us being stopped in each corner. Im the last person to move to a corner, and i am met there by a doctor. He circles me and is making measurements and adjustments, then stands in front of me and has me look straight ahead. Hes close enough that me loooking ahead is staring into his chest basically. My eyes adjust but its too late, hes holding two needles directly in front of my left eye, and before i can react, he plunges both needles into my eye. Stunned and in shock, im moved the the next corner where another doctor has me kneel. This time, the doctor stands behind me and she asks me to drop both arms to my side. She punches me in each upper arm, but in her fist is a small needle. It's not like shes giving me a shot, shes winding up and punching me full out, and theres also a needle in her fist.
My arm was already hurt from getting blasted by a laser, and now im really in pain. Plus i cant see out of my left eye anymore. My left eye feels swollen and tender. I can barely process the next part as someone from behind places a hand on my head. They steady my head as they plunge a large needle into the side of my neck at a 90 degree angle. Now i lose feeling to my entire body and lose consciousness and then wake up irl.
I woke up dizzy and nauseous and had to call out of work

Understanding and Treating Plantar Warts on Feet
Causes and Symptoms
Plantar warts are caused by direct contact with HPV, a virus that thrives in warm, moist environments such as public showers, locker rooms, and swimming pools. The virus enters the skin through tiny cuts, abrasions, or weak spots on the feet. While anyone can develop plantar warts, they are more common in children and teenagers, individuals with weakened immune systems, and those who frequently walk barefoot in communal areas.
The primary symptom of plantar warts is a small, rough, grainy growth on the bottom of the foot, often with a black dot in the center, which is a clotted blood vessel. These warts can be painful, especially when pressure is applied, such as during walking or standing. In some cases, plantar warts on feet treatment multiple warts may cluster together, forming a mosaic wart.
Diagnosis
A healthcare provider can usually diagnose plantar warts through a physical examination. They may scrape the wart to check for dark, pinpoint dots (clotted blood vessels) or remove a small section of the wart to send for analysis if the diagnosis is uncertain. It's essential to differentiate plantar warts from other foot conditions like calluses or corns, which require different treatments.
Treatment Options
While some plantar warts may disappear on their own within a couple of years, many require treatment due to pain, discomfort, or cosmetic reasons. Here are several effective treatment options:
Over-the-Counter Treatments: Many people start with over-the-counter (OTC) treatments, such as salicylic acid preparations. These treatments gradually peel away the wart. It's essential to follow the instructions carefully and protect the surrounding skin to avoid irritation.
Cryotherapy: Cryotherapy involves freezing the wart with liquid nitrogen, causing it to blister and eventually fall off. This treatment is often performed by a healthcare provider and may require several sessions. While effective, it can be painful and may cause temporary changes in skin color.
Prescription Medications: If OTC treatments fail, a doctor may prescribe stronger medications. These can include higher concentrations of salicylic acid or other topical agents like imiquimod, which stimulates the immune system to fight the wart.
Tumblr media
Laser Treatment: Laser therapy uses an intense beam of light to destroy the wart tissue. This method is generally reserved for stubborn warts that do not respond to other treatments. It can be costly and may require multiple sessions.
Minor Surgery: In severe cases, minor surgery may be necessary to remove the wart. A doctor may use a scalpel to cut out the wart or use electrosurgery (burning the wart with an electric current). Surgery can be effective but carries the risk of scarring.
Home Remedies: Some individuals opt for home remedies such as duct tape occlusion therapy, where duct tape is applied to the wart for several days, foot doctor pembroke pines followed by soaking and gentle scrubbing. Though evidence is mixed, some find this method helpful.
Prevention
Preventing plantar warts involves avoiding direct contact with HPV. Here are some tips to reduce the risk:
Wear Flip-Flops or Shower Shoes: Protect your feet in communal areas like showers and pools.
Keep Feet Clean and Dry: Wash your feet regularly and keep them dry to prevent the growth of bacteria and viruses.
Avoid Sharing Personal Items: Do not share socks, shoes, or towels with others.
Check Feet Regularly: Inspect your feet for any unusual growths and seek prompt treatment if you notice any changes.

WHY DO DOCTORS WEAR WHITE LAB COAT IN HOSPITALS?
There is no working attire as symbolic or prevalent as when a doctor dons a white lab coat, despite the fact that you may see numerous employees in a healthcare facility and they may all be dressed differently. When you encounter a doctor, you can be sure that they will be wearing a white lab coat. Those who work in health care administration or in the office performing clerical jobs may be dressed professionally. Nurses frequently wear scrubs in a variety of colours, each of which has a specific meaning. In fact, according to one survey, 72% of hospital doctors and medical students wear white lab coats, with the majority donning them more than 75% of the time.
THE QUESTION REMAINS, WHY DOES A DOCTOR WEAR A WHITE LAB COAT?
The main benefit of wearing white for a doctor is that it makes them more visible to patients and other medical professionals. In order to set themselves apart from the dishonest healthcare professionals who tried to peddle miracle cures and did not practice traditional, evidence-based medicine, educated surgeons and physicians started wearing white lab coats in the late 1800s. Physicians soon followed suit. These days, the justifications range from serving as a representation of expertise, honesty, and the greatest level of dedication to helping the ill and suffering. The transition from being a student to becoming a doctor begins nearly immediately after a student earns their medical degree from one of the 97% of medical schools that do a "white coat ceremony."
PATIENT PERSPECTIVE OF A PHYSICIAN
The University of Michigan researchers found that a doctor's attire influences how patients evaluate their doctor and their overall satisfaction with their care after surveying 4,000 patients at 10 academic medical facilities in the United States. However, what is worn beneath the lab coat is just as important as the coat itself when considering dress. Patients saw medical professionals as more informed, dependable, compassionate, and approachable when they were dressed in a white coat rather than work clothes. Older patients over the age of 65 are considerably more likely to hold this perspective. Patients' approval and satisfaction were highest among doctors who were dressed in scrubs underneath their white lab coats. Doctors who solely wore professional clothing and no white lab coat came in third in the survey.
Whether it is uniformer white lab coat or customized lab coats, healthcare professionals mainly wear white colored uniforms and coats in the hospitals. uniformer provides a specially developed white lab coat that doesn't get dirty as quickly as well has anti-microbial properties, keeping the doctors and patients safe and hygienic.

Admitted Into A Psych Hospital
I haven't posted in a while, I know. But I was too busy being "skin searched" in a psychiatric institution bathroom.
Two days before, I started to have hallucinations for the first time in my life. It scared the shit out of me. They were so intense. I watched someone who looked like clear jelly in a human shape knock my car key off my dresser. Then, that jelly person walked over and sat down on my bed. The terrifying part was watching the bed sink as if someone was sitting down.
I soon noticed that the clear person looked like me. It looked like a replay of me getting ready for bed. It kept me in a paralysis of fear. I couldn't move a muscle. All I could do was watch. It would replay, too. The person started their movements by sitting on the bed, and it would play from there.
Then I heard my aunt get up out of bed to use the bathroom. My immediate thought was, "Oh f*ck. She's going to replay her actions, too." Instead of me seeing another me do it, she was replaying her previous actions.
Bonk!!
My aunt fell back asleep, actually fell, and hit her head on the toilet. That terrified me even more, but I stayed in bed. I was facing my window, and I spaced out, staring at the curtain rod. I watched it disappear from the top of the window and reappear at the bottom.
That's when I decided to tell my aunt and uncle. While my uncle stitched my aunt's forehead (he's a doctor), I told them all about this. They said they believed that I saw what I saw and it sounded terrifying. It honestly helped that my aunt slept in my room with me. It gave me some feeling of protection.
The bad thing is, is that it didn't last just one night. It was going on day 3. I was in the living room FaceTiming my boyfriend while still hallucinating. He calls over my uncle from the kitchen. He continued to demand my uncle to take me to the ER.
Again, as the doctor, he told Glenn no. He was furious that Glenn was trying to tell him what to do. So my uncle banned him from the house for a while and told me to get my shoes on because he was going to take me to the ER. Glenn wanted to be there with me, so my uncle told me that as soon as Glenn arrived at the hospital, he was leaving.
My uncle saw Glenn coming down the hall of the hospital before I did and stood up so quick it scared me. All he said to me was to keep him and my aunt updated.
I ended up spending the night in the ER with Glenn by my side. Early in the morning, I got woken up by the nurse telling me I'm going to a different hospital. It was a psychiatric hospital.
I'd never been in a psych hospital before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. After the skin search, I was given scrubs to wear. I was also given those grippy socks. The grips were shaped like paw prints.
I was observational the first day. I quickly made friends during the first week, though. A kid around my age was one of my first friends. He was a few years younger than me, but he was more mature for his age. We spent a lot of time together along with a few other patients that I got along well with.
This institution started to feel like elementary school, though. We had snack times, had to walk on the right side of the hall in line, had coloring sheets, and had many other school-like activities.
We also had roommates. During the time I was admitted, I had five different roommates. Either I got moved, or they did. Each one was interesting in their own way.
Over the course of the month that I stayed there, I also did electroconvulsive therapy. It was interesting, however, it made some of my multiple mental illnesses worse. I told my doctor and discontinued ECT.
I learned many things throughout my stay. Through many different group therapies, I learned things like coping skills, relationship maintenance, and so much more.
The techs and nursing staff were great, too. They were pretty much always on top of caring for us. They always gave me my medication on time, made sure my needs were being met, and kept me from self-destructive behavior. They were very good at their jobs.
After a little over a month, I was discharged and given helpful aftercare instructions and tips for my recovery.
Although being in the hospital helped my mentality, it was still nice to be able to come home.

How to Pick the Ideal Nursing Uniform
Most individuals in the medical field, such as nurses and doctors, wear scrubs as their uniform of choice. In truth, nurses all throughout the world, including the United States, wear a uniform scrub suit that consists of a boxy top and loose pants.
Several hospitals have strict guidelines on the colors, styles, and lengths of their staff's uniforms. Nurses have a lot of leeway in what they wear to work at most hospitals.
Just so we're clear, let's say... Male and female nurses alike are held to a higher standard than ever before, whether they are on the job, at a party, or simply out and about in public. You'll be spending the most of your work week in your scrubs, so you may as well make sure they look nice and say something about you.
Here are some tips to bear in mind when looking for your scrubs, since they are a mandatory uniform. When searching for your new scrubs, please consider the following.
Expensive versus No-Brainer
Even if it takes a little more money out of your pocket, you should choose and get scrubs from a reputable maker. You shouldn't save on quality even if you're tempted by a few cheaper pairs of shoes. Please note that you are expected to be on time for your shifts and not to wear linty, coming-out-of-the-stitching, or washed-out scrubs. Instead of buying three subpar sets, just get one great one. Insisting on designer labels does not equate to going shopping till you drop. Do not forget that the great majority of businesses often provide discounts. The white nurse's uniform is important for setting the scene. The white nurse dress is essential here.
Average versus In vogue
You can't find anybody more knowledgeable about you than you are, except you. For the simple-minded, nothing beats the comfort of a go-to t-shirt for every day of the week (or some iteration of it). If you look around the workplace, though, you'll realize that you've probably fallen behind the times in terms of style. How soon you adjust to your new look will depend on whether or not you choose a tunic with a stylish pattern or a basic one. You could discover a whole new you if you give yourself permission to try out different styles at home or with pals on your day off. An increase in self-assurance is a welcome side effect. Finding the perfect scrub takes some experimentation, of course.
Comparing Garments With and Without Chest Pockets
When choosing a new set of scrubs, comfort and functionality on the job should take precedence. Think about the worth of the things you keep in your chest pocket on a daily basis. If the additional space it provides is something you often appreciate, then by all means, keep utilizing it. However, you should stop using the chest pocket if doing so causes discomfort in your neck and shoulders. More so than women, males need scrubs with chest pockets in which to store personal items like pens, pencils, and cell phones.
Racism: White Man vs. People of Color
It's true that the white uniforms of doctors and nurses are a reflection of their profession. The way it looks, you wouldn't want any dirt or filth to land on it. People who are like this should realize that white scrubs are like magnets for dirt. In a position such as this, this is to be anticipated.

Best Medical Apparel: Doctor's Scrubs, Apron Coats & Surgical Scrub Cap
Buying medical apparel isn’t like buying any other piece of clothing.
Medical apparel is one of the most important investments you’ll ever make in your profession as a medical practitioner, so you must do it with a thought.
Most of the medical apparel out there, in the forms of lab coats, scrubs, and scrub caps are pretty bland and basic.
Like if you buy scrubs, then you get scrubs made out of cotton fabric. If you find a good one, if only you’re lucky, then you’ll find these scrubs have lesser pockets.
If you’re luckier and buy a scrub that has many pockets and is also not made of cotton, but with a good fabric, then you find that the fit isn't perfect.
The same story goes on with lab coats, and it is annoying.

You’ll find 3 pockets in most medical scrub suits.
Just think for a minute about what role no. of pockets play in your life.
Pockets are important for carrying all your medical equipment with ease, without ever having to carry a backpack!
You’ll have to carry
Pens
Stethoscope
Blood pressure cuffs
Notebooks
Alcohol swabs
Can you carry all these things in your hands?
And in a scrub that only has 2-3 pockets?
