For Lemon: 12, 24, and 42 12. What’s something that makes them laugh every single time? Be specific! Someone playing pretend/doing a bit and letting her in on the joke. Examples include: Rinn dropping her off and kissing her hand then calling her Fair Lady like a goober, Cael calling her Ms. Bakhouzin and that she drives a hard bargain all over deciding who pays for what at dinner, Nick doing something similar about her driving a hard bargain over something silly. It always gets her giggling. Lemon also loves a good play on words. They’re like little word puzzles, and she loves puzzles! 24. Did they take a cookie from the cookie jar? What kind of cookie was it? Lemon has snuck multiple cookies, hand pies, fritters, and once managed to inhale an entire tray of Special Brownies when no one was looking. She was fine, just incredibly stoned with a slightly upset tummy, so her big cousins kept an eye on her while the leaf worked its way out of her system. It’s surprising what one tiny puppy eyed halfling lass can get away with lol. She actually got her deer rib bone runes from Coyote by trading an entire kitchen's worth of baked goods and trading it when she was under 10 years old, and got grounded from baking lessons from Rosalind for a month >>’  42. If invited to a TED Talk, what topic would they present on? What would the title of their presentation be? Lemon could give multiple TED Talks, because she is a Giant Nerd, but her four main hyper fixations are arcana, nature, baking, and romance smut novels. So she might host a “Biology and Magic: How the Two Overlap” or “Local Species: What’s On the Menu, What’s a No Go, and Why?” or “Basics of Baking With Bakhouzin's” or lastly “Top Best and Worst Romance Novel Tropes”.

For Effie: 21, 38, and 45 21. What common etiquette do they disagree with? Do they still follow it? Effie is a whirlwind of over the top nonsense, but shockingly she does follow most common etiquette rules out of habit. She was raised in court by her politician parents, so she follows most of them without really thinking. What she doesn’t disagree with is the supposed etiquette of “minding her own business”. If she can hear it, that makes it free game. She wants all the facts in the correct order. Will she do anything with all that fact checked gossip? Most likely not, but it could be important some day!  38. What hobby are they good at in private, but bad at in front of others? Why? I like to think Effie has a lovely soprano singing voice, but for some reason when you put her in front of people suddenly she has to make a joke out of it and just cannot sing normally. Mostly because she really enjoys singing, and doesn’t want to be told she’s bad at something she loves.  45. What’s something unimportant / frivolous that they hate passionately? Socks and sandals. She knows entire cultures do it, that it isn’t exactly a fashion thing for them, etc etc. She Knows. Effie still hates it with a fiery passion. Not as passionately as she loves Temperance, but only by a few degrees.  

and, if so inclined, for Daffodil: 25, 30, and 39? 25. What subject / topic do they know a lot about that’s completely useless to the direct plot? All of the gossip in and around her human family’s court from 300-ish years ago. Who was besotted with who, who was caught talking the lover’s walk unattended into the gardens after midnight at Sir Macavoy’s last ball, who stole money at card night! Daffodil also can’t follow up on this gossip, because the humans involved are all dead now and her elf mother is MIA. She is very frustrated by this fact.  30. When they make a mistake and feel bad, does the guilt differ when it’s personal versus when it’s professional? Honestly, personal is so much worse than professional. Professional mistakes happen and can be a combination of many things not entirely in her control, but disappointing one of her muses? Her light and love and joy?? The very core of her songs??? Her inspiration that makes life worth continuing???? Devastating. She will take to her bed in a faint.  39. Would they rather be invited to an event to feel included or be excluded from an event if they were not genuinely wanted there That depends entirely on why she isn’t wanted there I think. Daffodil enjoys a bit of extra drama, so if her showing up would cause a bit of stir she totally would want to be invited anyway and show up with bells on. If her family didn’t want her there because her presence would cause issues for them, then she wouldn’t want to be invited.

7. You have the key to immortality in your hands. But not for free. If you want it, as a price, your worst enemy also gains immortality. Is it worth it?

Effie puts her hand to her chest, bright green eyes gone comically wide as she gasps lightly.  “I would never leave my Tempie behind! Now that she’s in my life I couldn’t imagine living that long without her! If we don’t die together in bed, old and loved, I won't know what to do with myself,” she says, pulling her hand back far enough from her chest to examine her neatly kept bright pink glittery nails. “Besides I would never give the cunt the satisfaction of living such a long life. Sort of defeats the whole purpose of me ruining it doesn’t it? No satisfaction if she just kept on living forever afterwards. Sooner or later her suffering would be so totally stale.”

17. Have you ever gotten sheer joy out of hurting someone else, either physically or mentally? To whom and why? Did it scare you?

She thinks about that for a long moment, twirling a lock of hair as she rolls the thought around a bit. “You know I have. It’s like….like the kind of satisfaction that comes from breaking down someone who spent their leisure time destroying other people's entire lives,” Effie says with a small shrug. “Unfortunately I can’t tell you who, that’s what NDA’s are for. You totally get it. I know they’re such a pain but an NDA is an NDA. Anywho I was totally within the bounds of the law when I did ruin them. Just because there was some social backlash doesn’t mean it wasn’t right. I’m not worried about enjoying it. My Tempie would stop me from going past the point of no return, if not by her direct action then my love for her would keep my reigns held tight.”

26. Is your personal happiness more important than anything else in the world? Than fame? Than the happiness of others?

Effie snorts, entirely unladylike, and covers her mouth as she grins. “While I am a bit of a hedonist with some things, there’s stuff I totally admit is more important than my own personal stuff. Tempie’s happiness for example. Fame doesn’t mean all that much if the people I care about aren’t cared for anyway.”

12. If someone else stole something and you stole it back is that a good deed, a bad deed or one of equal worth? Are you better than the original thief?

Daffodil leans her chin on one curled hand, lilac eyes sparking with mischief. “Have you been conversing with my dearest ever new delight? This seems quite like its source may stem from the ever turning mind of our captain Magpie,” she teases lightly, leaning back as she settles more into her seat. “Larceny can be many things, righteous or disreputable depending upon many factors the one may not always be in total dominion over. I do not believe either deed has any effect on the other really, and as long as our architect does not make a game of pilfering my family's good silver, I do believe I will leave the burglary in the hands of the professionals.” 

16. Have you ever contemplated killing someone? Who and why? Would you ever act on it? Are you frightened you might?

Daffodil looks directly at, or perhaps through, the interviewer as a sharp smile sets her gaze alight. “Darling I am well versed in many a trade. Death is not a stranger in my business, nor will they ever be. They dine at my table as easily as I at theirs,” she purrs, maintaining frankly too much eye contact as she speaks, lilting soprano voice gone low and even. “Those who attempt to harm my muses will find that I am quite the composer of final ballades, and I relish the opportunity to share my song, even if I should not deign to stoop to their level. I would not wish to upset my lionheart with such a slaughter, or draw too much undue attention to my privateer, so it is a rare song I sing in its familiar refrain.” 

33. If you could wipe certain memories from your head, would you? Why would you? What memories?

She plays with the thought for a long moment, twisting it to see different sides, before ultimately shaking her head. “No. The music would be poorer without the most varied experiences. My muses provide all the comfort I would require regardless of what the machinations of those in a higher power may thrust upon the path.”

has been on my brain. so here’s my little masterlist on what i think everyone would be.

DISCLAIMER

i’ve played d&d like three times so don’t expect all of these to be accurate/they’re my opinion :(

astra // astral elf monk

hey, i just think it makes sense. monks can deal damage and since astra derives her power from the astral guardians, it makes sense, no?

plus, i think she’d be really badass with astral elf genes…

breach // centaur barbarian

WALK WITH ME HERE. just listen to me. A CENTAUR. HE’S SO CENTAUR.

he’s very tanky and i think it very much fits his whole vibe— and if you think he’s annoying with two legs, he’s gonna be ten times more annoying with four. can totally see him absolutely destroying someone by bucking his back legs into someone.

brimstone // dwarf paladin

honor is huge for dwarves and i really want to play that in with brimstone. i want to say that kingdom could’ve been this crazy god thing but maybe i could look into that later. all i know is that he is a paladin with a heart of gold.

in a little doodle i did, i made him a tavernkeeper… so maybe he’s an ex-paladin now-turned a humble tavernkeep.

chamber // high elf artificer

i wanted to make him a ranger, but an artificer makes me giggle. probably because one of my d&d characters is an artificer and was loosely based on chamber. (she’s a rich tiefling seamstress of many talents, if you even care.) also you can imagine chamber as a tiefling too, but, i think high elf works better.

deffo still a weapons designer, maybe even a blacksmith. probably works closely with magic users to make custom weaponry to channel their mana in.

clove // fairy bard

look, as much as i’d LOVE to make clove an immortal god watching over the whole fantasy world, i just HAVE to include them as a fairy who CONTINUOUSLY breaks the 4th wall. it’s so funny.

clove would probably have DEADPOOL level fourth wall breaks, and constantly make jokes and references of ‘the real world’ and how they’ve ‘seen all of you before.’

cypher // tiefling wizard

he hides his identity partially because iirc tieflings aren’t exactly … liked by the public eye? i also like to think he uses his wizardry to fuel his whole information broker schtick. he uses arcane eye and everyone hates him for it.

deadlock // snow elf beast hunter

i know that beast hunters aren’t exactly a CLASS but come on. lets be honest with ourselves.

deadlock who lost her team to a rabid mythical beast, now dedicating herself to hunting them down and neutralizing them, one bounty at a time. i like to think that she doesn’t necessarily kill them if they can be saved, or at least put them down painlessly. otherwise, she aims for the fuckin’ throat.

fade // half-elf sorcerer

walk with me here. fade is a MAN in the universe OKAY walk with me. i made a hc video on tiktok where i made fade a half-elf sorcerer that is haunted by the voices in his spellbook. his character name is demir, and upon further research, i have found out that sorcerers CANNOT use spellbooks. (stupid, i know.) so work with that as you will.

i think she works for nightmare to feed it in return to find information on her father. she's a bounty hunter, but ONLY for nightmares and for information. you feel me?

gekko // tall-man druid

i think this one’s a given.

i’m practically making him beast boy, BUT IDGAF!!!! he has a connection with his buddies and often shifts as needed. he likes turning into a dog and cuddling. trust. his character name is oetam. yes, it's mateo backwards.

harbor // warforged artificer

this one is kind of me fucking around. as much as i wanted to make him a water based race, he was chosen to hold the artifact.

i think he was made by realm to be their historian and antiquities expert, but as soon as he was the chosen one, was shut out, just like in the cinematic.

iso // half-orc fighter

i know i could've put iso as a tiefling or something like that but i think him as a half-orc is cooler. he's tall, bulky, and TANKY.

i originally wanted him to be a paladin, because he could change oaths from hourglass to the protocol through a huge quest in sparing omen... that whole thing, but i think a fighter works better.

jett // air genasi rogue

let's be so fucking for real JETT WILL BE PUT ON SOME ROGUE SHIT WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT. I WILL FORCE FEED IT TO YOU WITH A GOLDEN SPOON.

if omega earth isn't canonical in the d&d world (which i highly doubt) she has an evil twin that does shit on her name, henceforth, she has to hide. otherwise, same backstory.

kay/o // warforged fighter

HE. IS. WARFORGED. [actively shoving food down your throat]

very much strikes me as a robot learning how to be normal. definitely works along brimstone-- he got a job at the tavern and helps him sort out bounties and act as security. he's also totally a bodyguard for money.

killjoy // tiefling artificer

she's so tiefling u can't say anything. she's a PINK tiefling thank you very much. definitely a party girl, too!

i think she's the same idea as chamber, but she's paid by brimstone! i wanna think he took her in as his protégé but atp he might as well be hers. initially he wanted her to help with kay/o, but she just ended up control-freaking everywhere and upgrading everything in sight. she has matching names with oetam. it's aralk.

neon // wood elf ranger

neon is a speedster, so it makes sense to give her one of the fastest races in d&d (based on walking distance, at least). i wanna think she's a knight... stay with me here.

ex-k-sec makes sense for her to be a knight? so maybe she just has the title, but kind of just does contract work? also! the whole lightning thing... mayhaps cursed? or maybe just a lightning god didn't want her. choose which one you like out of those two.

omen // tall man-tiefling rogue

hear me out; he used to be a tall man, but after the whole 'incident' was turned into a tiefling. LISTEN BRO IT MAKES SENSE.

he works as a merc, sporting a cloak to shield his 'hideous' self. he frequents brimstone's tavern for jobs, and always emerges from the shadows instead of using the door. he's become accustomed to showing up after closing with the bounty, and in return, spooks everyone working there. killjoy had to hit her fantasy equivalent of an inhaler after a few spooks.

phoenix // dragonborn bard

[shoveling food down your throat] that is a fucking dragonborn if i ever did fucking see one.

and, he's a bard because he was in theatre school, duh. i like to think phoenix is a very popular entertainer but also uses his talents for other jobs on the side. otherwise... maybe he's a knight! i don't know. i like the performer idea better.

raze // dwarf alchemist

she was also in the d&d video! her name is razinho ('little raze' haha). probably a merc with a very, err, explosive personality. wandered in the tavern a lot and hit it off with aralk.

if i had to assign her a class, maybe a fighter or a barbarian.

reyna // vampire warlock

listen. i want to say that the vampire side of her is empress. she has to devour souls (or blood!) to keep empress happy. you see where i'm going here? [fade bulletin board spray]

she's tied to empress so long as lucia is sick. gekko and her met after she found him injured in dog form... guys please i love them so much.

sage // high elf cleric

her healing is a gift. come on bro. she's as cleric as it can get. while i think she also derives power from the earth (she's in fact a geomancer) i think the majority of her mana comes from the higher power that gifted her.

i want to think she also works as a ... well, sage. she does so back in shaanxi. otherwise, she's found at brimstone's tavern providing her healing. sometimes she goes into dungeons and does free revivals.

skye // dryad druid

[shoveling food down your throat] dryad skye [more food] druid skye. also isn't it crazy how THAT is the only skye picture we have. rest in peace.

i wanna think that her pack is a bunch of animal-shaped plants that she helped escape a garden. i think that's really funny. 10+ points if it's a garden belonging to kingdom.

sova // avian (owl) scout

a former knight in charge of reconnaissance. he left after a tragic accident.

he lives with his babushka and takes care of her-- sometimes he takes up bounties for extra cash, and brimstone is trying to work his way into sova's good side-- he could really use a scout.

viper // naga shifter alchemist

probably used to be a cleric but renounced her belief-- even better, after doing what she did to omen, she lost her power and took it as a sign to take up researching death.

yes, she is a naga. it makes so much sense, nobody talk to me. her and brimstone are old friends and she frequents the bar also because of omen. the reason he was sent to kill her should stay the same i think.

yoru // changeling rogue

last one! he was also in the hc video. except he was a fighter. his name is kurayami. no, not kuronami. he's a runaway samurai and hella edgy. oetam bullies him. demir, too.

changelings can impersonate people they've already seen, so maybe yoru uses paintings of his ancestors to decide on his identity. he has the mask still, too! he uses it when he's on his rogue shit.

Daisy - What inspired you to create your OC?

Izjik: I'm scared of fish and underwater caves and needed someone to be scared with me

Sepo: Izjik needed a friend and the concept of a mute, aroace, siren man was funny to me

Twenari: Sepo and Izjik needed someone to pull them into trouble, and wouldn't it be great if she was Doctor Strange but a twelve year old girl?

Djek: For a very early draft, Izjik and Sepo joined a mercenary guild, and I wanted a really underwhelming sorcerer who was good at other things on their team. Funnily enough, there was also a knight character in their squad named Destoux. I scrapped him, but the idea returned as Daedryn, the book 2 antagonist.

Astra: I needed a wizard npc to get my dnd players on the right track for a story arc. I wanted her to have a real hick accent because wizards are usually posh and british. Later on, I liked her enough that she got a book.

Mashal: I needed another npc accompanying Astra to have an emotional attachment to the villain. Also, robot. Love robot.

Ivander: I did a sketch this one time of a leperous elf woman wearing a beautiful porcelain mask. That idea morphed until it became a half-alien man wearing an illusion to cover a curse.

Daffodil - Is your OC likeable?

Likable is a pretty subjective thing, so I'm gonna rate them on how much I personally would want to spend a day with them.

Izjik - 9/10: A very solidly likable woman. She's funny, down to earth, could bench press two of me, and loves hiking. The only downside is that she wouldn't get my nerdy jokes.

Sepo - 7/10: Once he warms up to you, he's clever, likes to tease endearingly, and will do most anything for you. He's very much a grumpy older brother. However, that warm-up period is really rough.

Twenari - 8/10: We're both nerds, but in different directions. I think I could have some wonderful conversations with her, and I always love someone I can read in silence with. I do think I'd forget that she's twelve and invite her out to an R-rated movie or something.

Djek - 6/10: Personally, I'm not the type to hang out with life-of-the-party extroverts. I think he and I would get along swimmingly, I just don't think we'd interact much due to different hobbies.

Astra - 5/10: Lord, this woman would get on my nerves. I get that her prickly overconfidence is a defense mechanism (I wrote her that way, after all), but if I had to interact with her as a regular person, I doubt I'd see past it. I'd still think she's undeniably cool, though.

Mashal - 8/10: A genuinely kind and lovely man. He's the type to make you cupcakes because he thinks you're having a bad day or to remember what music you like so he can listen to it later. He only gets points off because he's a bit of a prude and would frown sadly whenever I talk about graffiti plans.

Ivander - 4/10: A fascinating specimen of a person, but god, what an absolute bitch. He's mean to people, no two ways about it. He'd make that middle school bully face while fake-complimenting your shoes to make you feel poor. He isn't lower on points because I appreciate people who are unabashed gossips and have no compunctions about telling me what Kelly from HR is up to when her husband is out of town.

This is a very fun question tho. I love dnd and i love thinking about what characters I love playing dnd/living in a dnd world would be like. So a lot of ramble-y thoughts ahead

Jeremy - I feel like he's the easiest one to categorize because he is and would play a Paladin. It feels kind of obvious but it makes the most sense to me. It's a tank-y kinda class, offering some pretty hefty damage options while also coming with some support features + I think the noble knight type is something Jer would go for and be if he was in the dnd world. Specifically Oath of Devotion I think (although Glory might also be a good fit...but I think he'd value friendship more than heroism)(The alternative answer would be Bard, methinks, but only for play. If we're talking be then it's Paladin all the way)

Cat - I'm not a 100% sure with her but thinking about her interest in motorcycles I thought of Artificer (edit: looking up some stuff I found out she's majoring in Comp Sci and also reupholstered the living room couch so like. further points towards Artificer?) and then the anger issues she talked about in regards to video games made me think of Barbarian. She also seems to be fond of flowers/nature tho (tattoos and the daffodil she sprayed on the fence) so maybe one of the more nature-y classes is also possible. I think when playing DnD she might go for something that does a lot of damage since she at the very least likes violent video games. I can also see her play most other classes though and I think she'd be the one to make a really intricate build and come up with a detailed backstory and stuff? Maybe? But I think if I had to make a choice I would say be: Artificer, play: Barbarian?

Laila - She's the most difficult because I feel like we don't know all that much about her? At least I can't think of any interests of hers right now, nor much of a characterization? So it's a little hard. I feel like she's more calm and reserved and very altruistic + being a goalkeeper i think her's would be a very defensive and supportive class. I think I can see her most as a Druid or a Cleric but I'm honestly not sure whether I'd see her more in touch with nature or religion. Another thought I had was that if we talk about playing DnD someone has to run the game, and I feel like she's the prime suspect for DM? I feel like Cat would be more interested in playing and so would Jer (although Jer would be my 2nd choice as DM), and Jean doesn't know enough about the game so for Laila I guess I'd go with be: Druid/Cleric; play: DM?

Jean - I think Jean is also a little difficult but moreso because he imo has very little idea of the game. I think maybe the first time they play the others make a Fighter character for him because that's pretty straightforward, especially on lower levels, but what he'd pick himself I'm not sure. I feel like he'd try to round out the party a little (no matter how much the others encourage him to play around and do what he wants) so between the Paladin and the Barbarian that I just assigned he'd probably try something ranged and/or spellcaster, but then again go for something simple? I think Jer would try to convince him to be a Ranger because animal companions and this is how Jer could cheat getting a fictional dog in game and maybe during one campaign Jean does do that. But otherwise I'd say either Wizard (There's certain spells you can cast and all the extra stuff is not that complicated) or a Walock (don't even have to worry about different spell levels with this one, but incantations might seems complicated). Another option I see is him just staying with Fighter and refusing to branch out.

And then who Jean would be is also a little difficult because I feel like it kinda depends on the context of like the larger story and other characters because a lot of who Jean is has been shaped by Riko? Like one thought that I'd had previous to this ask was of like a fantasy AU where Riko would be a mage and use Jean kind of as a human shield, this Barbarian whose rages he could control and send him forward into battle while he stayed behind and spell sniped from a distance. But now thinking about it again I feel like with the whole mafia family thing something like Sorcerer would probably work better? Like maybe Riko is still influencing the spells and the way he uses those spells (area effects and support type spells that give Riko an advantage without letting Jean take the glory) but Jean's family is magic and that innate magical talent is what attracts the Moriyamas in the first place (Side Note: the perfect court would either be all Sorcerers in this case, I think, or Riko and Kevin are Wizards and Riko is sooo jealous that a) Kevin is better at magic than him and b) that Jean is naturally magical and doesn't have to study). So that's what I think I would go with: Be: Sorcerer, play: actually the more I think about it it's either Fighter or Ranger just because I feel like any type of spellcaster would be too fancy in Jean's eyes (espcially at first). I kinda wanna go with Ranger because it's the middle ground between wanting to round out the party and playing something relatively simple? And maybe Hunter or Monster Slayer as a subclass, driving Jer mad by NOT picking Beastmaster

...actually now thinking about it a good party combination could also be Bard!Jer, Barbarian!Cat, Ranger!Jean with Laila DMing? I think how it goes is like: First (mini) campaign to get Jean into the game Jer is a Paladin, Jean the Fighter that the others made for him and Cat either decides to be a spellcaster so they have one or goes the Rogue route. Then next time they try to round the party out more so it's Jer as a Bard, Jean as a Ranger and Cat as a Barbarian and then maybe some time in the future Jean will play a spellcaster and allow his character to be a little flashy <3 (and Jer will play a Beastmaster Ranger so he can have a dog. Trust)

Also please feel free to disregard anything I just said. There were a lot of thoughts here and if anything inspired you to come to a different conclusion than the ones I've come to please go with those instead. I'm not fully sure on any of this and I think it also all depends on the context so like...yeah those are the options I see lol

My WIPS

I have two main wips, but Autumn Wip is the priority. I also have two duet campaigns that I run that I will mention here and there. I dabble in some rps and fanfics too and at most I may vague post about them or mention a character or two.

This one is new so not much is fleshed out yet, but it is queer and dark as usual here.

Call of Cthulhu inspired campaign about a small town where nothing is as it seems. A disappearance of a local young woman from a hike in a place she knew better than most leads to a lack of investigation from the townsfolk.
