He’s been good! My washing machine broke last week and I hauled it out the other day in preparation for the new one and he’s been loving his new Top Secret Hiding Spot.

We are taking a little bit of a Baldur’s Gate break right now just because I was getting burnt out. We’re slowly making our way through Mass Effect Andromeda for the second time. I’m very excited to get back to BG3 tho.

I left off right at the start of Act 2. I’m playing a Githyanki monk named Ez’rai and spent way too much time coming up with a backstory for them. I’m going to be romancing Wyll this time. I think Ez’rai growing up in such a harsh culture that didn’t have room for soft romance will go together in such a fun and cute way with Wyll. A noble’s son who is just so sweet and romantic and good.

Part of the joys of dming is giving names and unique statspreads to npcs which most likely are going to be killed without a line of dialogue. They're my blorbos, even if no one else will ever know their names.

7. Which party member do they understand the least?

Hmm. I think probably Terys. Deru wouldn't realize this unless something brought it to their attention, but he's let Terys slip under his radar. He assumes she's more simple than I think she is. They assume she's more ok than I think she is.

46. What do they deprive themself of?

It honestly might be easier to say what they don't deprive themself of. Deru is a wizard made for study, for magic, for doing big, important things. He wouldn't let a cheap drink or a fleeting connection get in the way of that. Not if he didn't need it.

57. What makes them angry?

Being lied to, being tricked. An interesting follow up question might be who is deru angry at for that.

I find your characters fascinating! Would you tell us more about Miri?

Hello Anon! You are VERY sweet! x) Thanks for sharing your interest in Miri! And I cannot resist blabbering on about a good blorbo:

Let's see... Miri is/was a half-elf Cleric for one of the long-running campaigns that my friends from university were heavily involved in. My best friend--who is Korean-American--reallllllly wanted to create the Korean-mythology-inspired cleric of her dreams, and so Miri and a lot of HCs about Miri's home town and home country were born.

She did die within the confines of the campaign, but she is such a special character that my bestie and I have an on-going post-canon world for her and the lingering plot threads and relationships she left behind. All that out of the way, here's more about her!

Miri LOOKS like an elegant cleric but she is/was a bit of a firecracker, with bursts of bravado and confidence, though she was prone to failing to back up her big talks about magical power thanks to (well-timed dice rolls) some general clumsiness. She was very curious about the world, and had an adventurer's spirit at heart that looked at everything with wide-eyed wonder, though she also was quick to cover up her inexperience with her chin tilted up as if she knew everything all along. Call it a bit of a hedgehog's dilemma--she had a softer, squishier part that she was reluctant to share with the group right away, and hid those softer parts all with well placed barbs or teasing banter, and sometimes, a bit of blunt honesty.

((Also a fun Miri trait: She loved a good party, and she was particularly fond of alcohol, which lead to some Memorable Moments xD Notably: We encountered a monster made entirely of alcohol (don't ask), and Miri did end up drinking some of it to attack its HP))

Still, once you got past the barbs, loved fiercely, and was especially proud of her family and where she came from, and who she was destined to be. (And I think she would have learned to be more comfortable with the softer parts of herself if the Dice didn't say "NOPE")

Miri was set up to be a sort of "Chosen One" character, with close ties to a mountain god that her family of shrine keepers worshiped. Once a generation one of the shrine keepers would serve as the avatar of this deity, and Miri through luck (Fate) was chosen as the god's avatar and vessel between the heavens and earth.

Now, Miri was quite PROUD of this fact, and despite the trappings of being a woman of the cloth, she was a little haughty and arrogant and very naive about the world outside her mountain and the love and support of her family and the other shrine keepers. But she wanted to prove herself capable as a cleric and a magic user--and so set herself off on a self-imposed journey to "grow stronger" and hone her skills.

That's how she stumbled into our main party--and fatefully ran in with her most stalwart companion/my Fighter/love interest, Felix, via a drunken tavern brawl that lead to the two of them spending a night in jail to sober up together. One thing lead to another, and a jail break or two later, the pair were inseparable--if at each other's throats, because Felix loves to tease people, and for all her pride, Miri always kinda fell for his attempts to rile her up.

While they all leveled up and gained a lot of combat experience, the fact that Miri's dice LOVED to tell a story (give her a cool moment, but then fail at a critical moment), towards the end of the campaign Miri fell to what could've been a preventable death. We (the party) were all a little too cocky entering an encounter that turned out to be a major boss fight, and we paid for it, Miri especially. It wasn't a satisfying end to her arc--which I think was important, all things considered even if it didn't Feel Great.

All that potential, all that room still left to grow and mature as a proper cleric and vessel for her deity, that developing softer, budding thing with the Fighter that seemed to be at her side since Day 01 -- all snuffed out in an instant for a character that was still so bright and FUN to banter with.

My friend had to roll a new character, we ALL missed Miri, but we also have the power to write so we have some extensive post-campaign headcanons about how she's brought herself back from the dead, the eventual reunion with Felix and the other companions they were closer to, and other adventures they go on after.

;'D That's a lot of TEXT but hope you enjoyed it! The two of us can get VERY verbose and write a LOT, even if the overall vibe of the campaign is more chill and fun than say, epic or plot-y, and these PCs have meant a lot to us, even years after the campaign has ended so it's nice to hear someone else have interest in them, especially our Mir-Mir!

What kind of life could lead Husk to be another class that you enjoy? Like Khilanna is an Inquisitor Rogue, but I enjoy Divination Wizards too, and now I want to plan a Div Wizard KhiKhi :D

I think rogue or sorcerer would work very well for Husk! :D arcane trickster as their subclass and for sorcerer I'm not too sure I'm not as clear on the subclasses but I do enjoy my shadow sorcerer character

For the rogue path it would be the same but the trauma or damage caused by their time in the wizard's tower might block their ability to draw on their magic so they steal wizard secrets and go down that route to compensate

And for sorcerer, i feel like i play husk like a sorcerer anyways. I think druid magic is just more fitting for a nature themed fey? XD wild magic sorcerer didn't scratch that itch but I think i could make it work :D unless there's new subclasses I've missed
